Iranian OUT OF NOWHERE Drop ‘Blind Crow’ Video

Iranian djent/metalcore crew OUT OF NOWHERE has dropped the video for their recently released single, “Blind Crow.” Knotfest debuted the video alongside an intriguing interview with the Mashad band (read full article AT THIS LOCATION).

The oppressive regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran made heavy music illegal inside the country, and metal bands often get arrested for their endeavor.  However, regardless of the risk of being imprisoned, Out of Nowhere has actively been releasing music and playing live shows across the country for more than a decade.

“We started 15 years ago in one of the most religious cities in Iran. Despite everyone saying you can’t make it, we didn’t give up on our dreams, so we made the pact that we will make them our goal to make sure we’ll all see a day that our message has been spread around the world. No matter what, no matter how many sticks and stones will get thrown at us,” Out of Nowhere sheds light on their struggle on Knotfest.

“We tried to describe the life cycle from the beginning till the end, painting all the pain and suffering most people carry through their lives — it can be depression, anxiety, or any other mental illness that we live with. We are ambitious enough to set this song as an example of how you can survive no matter how low you think you are right now. Just stay on your path and keep going,” informs the group on the subject of the track.

“Blind Crow” is currently available on all streaming/digital platforms; access it RIGHT HERE

MetalSucks premiered the track in February (full feature HERE).

JORDSJØ Release New Track ‘Beitemark’ From Upcoming Album

Norwegian Prog Rock duo JORDSJØ are steeped in the traditions of the kind of Nordic Prog rock that emerged during the last century, but that doesn’t mean that the music produced by multi- instrumentalist Håkon Oftung (TUSMØRKE, BLACK MAGIC) and drummer Kristian Frøland rests there.  Far from it, because what JORDSJØ have managed to do is take what was best from that era’s Prog rock, and make it entirely their own by adding a folk-inspired twist to a plethora of interesting melodies.

And two weeks from now, the 7th May to be precise, JORDSJØ’s third full-length album “Pastoralia” will hit the streets on Karisma Records.  But in the meantime, band and label have released another track from the album to whet the fan’s appetites.

The track in question is “Beitemark”, and  JORDSJØ  gave us this insight into it:

“Beitemark” is about nostalgia and the desire to gradually leave behind the monotony of daily life with its trivial chores, and to rise up into the starlit sky.  On this song, we have actively used analogue Space Echo to give it an extra cosmic vibe in order to contrast the simple, down to earth depictions of local nature and the surging emotions  of the final part of the song.

The single “Beitemark” can be downloaded or streamed from a number of digital platforms at
https://karismarecords.fanlink.to/jordsjo_beitemark

“Pastoralia” sees JORDSJØ  moving  further into a more jazzy, progressive  musical territory as the band creates  an album that is a musical journey that ranges from minimalist mellotron passages to a full on rock tempest.   It is an album based on dreams, a longing for freedom and the fictional place “Pastoralia”, where every day is like tropical nights in Northern Norway, where the forest people dance around campfires.

The album was recorded and produced in its entirety between March and November 2020 in the basement of Bjørnerød Gård in Våler, Østfold by JORDSJØ themselves, and joining the duo on “Pastoralia” are a number of guests including Ola Mile Bruland (ACTIONFREDAG), Håkon Knutzen, Vilde Mortensen Storesund, Mats Lemjan, Christian Meaas Svendsen and Åsa Ree (MEER, TUSMØRKE, WOBBLER).

With artwork by  Sindre Foss Skancke, tracklisting for “Pastoralia” is as follows:

  1. Prolog
  2. Skumring i Karesuando
  3. Mellom Mjødurt, Marisko og Søstermarihånd
  4. Pastoralia
  5. Fuglehviskeren
  6. Beitemark
  7. Vettedans
  8. Jord III

“Pastoralia” will be available in CD, Digital and black Vinyl formats as well as in a blue Vinyl version which will be limited to 600 copies.  It is now available to pre-order from the following:

Polish HORE Unveil First Track ‘Drwimy jak grom’ From Debut Album

HORE is a relatively new music project created in 2018. The musicians, although experienced and from well-known bands, decided not to provide any personal details.

For the last three years, the musicians were slowly preparing their debut material. Now, it’s time to reveal that the record, lasting over 30 minutes, is an amalgamation of post-black metal, avant-garde jazz, and film music. Inspired by old folk tales and writings of Słowacki, Mickiewicz, Broniewski, and Goethe, the album “Siostry Wiedźmy” (eng. “Sisters of the Witch”) is an original take on the subject.

HORE‘s music is a rollercoaster of emotions. A mix of anxiety and idyll. Firmly rooted in the old Polish school of black metal, the band’s debut album corresponds with the works of Morowe, Furia, Odraza or KAT.

The album will release as an 8-panel digipak in a bundle with a T-shirt and will be available on most streaming platforms.

The album will premiere on May 14, 2021.

The band comments as follows:

“’Mi Orden’ is a journey from darkness to light. We get used to that twilight situation until something happens and everything blows up. Our order ceases to receive chaos. The great change that at first scares us, but later we are so grateful for it. Without knowing it, this change brings us the light that we needed so much. This journey also becomes something literal through the video, which transports us hypnotically from a dark tunnel to the color of the blooming flowers.”

The album is available in various formats and can be pre-ordered HERE!

BALA’s is a two-piece power horse from Galicia, Spain. Their influences range from the different faces of grunge to the big names of punk or stoner rock. This unique blend of musical landscapes and pan-generational inspirations helped shaping the bands outstanding heavy sound and pays tribute to legends like Nirvana, Melvins, Fu Manchu and L7.
