Hungarian Budapest-based modern metallers BEFORE WE FALL have released a new single and music video Healed by Fear. The track is taken from eponymous EP which is set to release on April 30th 2021 via Finnish record label Inverse Records. EP is recorded at Stray Heart Records and it is mixed & mastered by NO SILENCE STUDIOS.

The band comments:
“Our new EP ‘Healed by Fear’ contains 3 songs each revolving around the topic of finding a way inside to our real self. For the title song we’ve made a music video, where the original intention was to create a cold and eerie atmosphere with which we can reach the state of mind in where we can reveal and overcome our true self, fears and darkest emotions. As ‘Healed by Fear’ is our 2nd Music Video, from visual aspect we’ve also tried to create something different from what we did in the first one “Nothing’s gonna be the same”.

On April 16th, CANNIBAL CORPSE will release their fifteenth studio album, Violence Unimagined, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of Violence Unimagined, the new single, “Murderous Rampage”, can be heard below:

A video for the previously released single, “Inhumane Harvest” (directed by David Brodsky // mgenyc.com), can be viewed at: metalblade.com/cannibalcorpse – where the record can also be pre-ordered in various formats.

Fans can read an exclusive interview with Cannibal Corpse about Violence Unimagined and more in the May 2021 issue of Decibel Magazine, which features the band on the cover. To purchase your copy online now, please visit: store.decibelmagazine.com – or pick up an issue at newsstands starting April 7th! An exclusive Decibel Magazine vinyl edition of Violence Unimagined can also be pre-ordered here: store.decibelmagazine.com

Comprised of eleven tracks, Violence Unimagined is state of the art death metal played with passion and breathless precision, making for another flawless addition to what is inarguably one of the premier catalogues the genre has thrown up. “It really follows the path we’ve been going down for a few years now,” states bassist and founding member Alex Webster. “I think we approach the writing in a similar way most every time: each of us try to write the heaviest, most memorable songs we can. We want each song to have its own identifiable character. Showing my age, I like to say you can ‘drop the needle’ on any point of one of our albums and quickly tell which song you’re listening to.”

While they continue to do what they do with aplomb, the one substantial change to Cannibal Corpse is the addition of guitarist Erik Rutan to their ranks, joining Webster, founding drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, guitarist Rob Barrett and vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. Known for his roles in Morbid Angel, Ripping Corpse and most notably fronting the mighty Hate Eternal, Rutan has long established himself as one of the most dynamic forces in contemporary death metal. Simultaneously, he has built up a reputation as one of the most in demand producers in metal, having previously produced four Cannibal Corpse albums (in addition to Violence Unimagined), alongside the likes of Goatwhore, Soilent Green and Belphegor. Filling in live on guitar since 2019, in 2020 he became a full member, contributing to the writing process. “I think the most noticeable difference on this record will be the addition of Erik to the band. He wrote three full songs for the record, music and lyrics, and his song writing and guitar playing have added something new, and I think his musical style integrated into ours very well,” Webster enthuses. This is not all that he brings to the band. “He’s a great friend of ours, so on a personal level, he’s been a perfect fit, as we knew he would be. Beyond that, he’s one of the hardest working people I know, in music or otherwise, and he maintains a high energy, positive demeanor in challenging situations where other people might go in a negative direction. This energy and great attitude rubs off on the rest of us as well. That’s really a perfect situation to have when you add someone to a band, or any kind of team: someone who’s great at what they do, and also inspires the people around them.”

Already well known for the level of extreme technicality they bring to every record, on Violence Unimagined, Cannibal Corpse have further upped their game, particularly in Mazurkiewicz’s drumming. “I think we all pushed ourselves a bit technically on this one, with Paul probably pushing the hardest. This album is probably the most drum-intense album we’ve done yet. Part of that could be a result of Erik joining the band. His song writing style often features technically challenging drumming, probably owing to his years of experience in high speed death metal.” And with typically dark and warped lyrical content, Mazurkiewicz came up with the fitting title of the record, “summing up what the band is about in every facet, and taking violence to another level of extremity.”

Violence Unimagined track-listing
1. Murderous Rampage
2. Necrogenic Resurrection
3. Inhumane Harvest
4. Condemnation Contagion
5. Surround, Kill, Devour
6. Ritual Annihilation
7. Follow the Blood
8. Bound and Burned
9. Slowly Sawn
10. Overtorture
11. Cerements of the Flayed

THE UNGUIDED Release Exciting New Video For “Where Love Comes To Die”

As a surprise and special thank you to their fans, Swedish melodic death metal unit THE UNGUIDED have just released a new official music video for the dreamy crusher “Where Love Comes To Die”.

With their new track, the Swedes once again prove that the well-balanced symbiosis of pop-inspired elements in combination with merciless heaviness and lyrics with depth succeeds with ease and that their songs absolutely stay in your head. In four minutes, the track takes you on a journey through a diverse sound construct and makes you scream for more!

THE UNGUIDED‘s Richard Sjunnesson states:
“We’ve been sitting on this video for quite some while now! Our first thought was to save it for an eventual tour but that’s not going to happen in quite some time, so we just decided to do an interactive event with the fans to “unlock” the new music video. It’s for the only ballad on the album Father Shadow and we once again got the opportunity to work with Patric Ullaeus who filmed both “Crown Prince Syndrome” & “Where Love Comes To Die” during the same day! Roger and my sister and her husband can be seen in the video as the actors.”

Convince yourself and watch “Where Love Comes To Die” HERE:

With Father Shadow, THE UNGUIDED –comprised of the brothers and founders of SONIC SYNDICATE – breaks down the barriers between melodic death metal, metalcore and fitting electronic sounds. Clean hooklines explode in classifying screams, leading up to a unique symbiosis of pure harshness. With brutal shouts, an unmistakably catchy chorus and a huge chunk of honest words, “Crown Prince Syndrome” unveils the burden of an innate identity. The perfect symbiosis of Richard Sjunnesson’s forceful vocal pitch and Jonathan Thorpenberg’s clean vocals convinces to the fullest extent. Tracks like the banger “Never Yield” and “War of Oceans” pierce straight into your eardrums. Let yourself be drawn into the deep, dark underbelly of “Stand Alone Complex”, capturing your mind with ruthlessly harsh drums. “Gaia”, featuring Erik Engstrand, marks a new chapter in the era of THE UNGUIDED: harder, faster but always on point. With heavy handed cover versions of their own classic SONIC SYNDICATE tracks “Jailbreak”, “Denied” and “Jack of Diamonds”, the four piece also thrives in reminiscence –and reveals a new musical entity. Follow THE UNGUIDED into the deep shadows of the past and the abyss of the future!

THE UNGUIDED on their latest album:
“We started to work on the follow up to And the Battle Royale by the end of 2018 after the tour was done. I think that particular album was a lot about figuring out the band’s new identity and writing together after boarding a new member and undeniably it was well received. Father Shadow is all about taking that experience, refining the process and push it to the next level. We have grown together solidly as a band and I think it shows a lot on this album. The songwriters in the band all come from different schools and write a bit differently musically, on this album everyone got equal airtime just to pump the diversity without losing the feel of the band. Lyrically it pushes the story and concept forward and finally ties up some ends that have been loose since Fragile Immortality (2014), something I think the hardcore fans will appreciate. It was also fun to go back and revisit those old SONIC SYNDICATE tracks for the bonus material and I think we managed to do our own thing to honor the songs with a mint 2020 production. Utterly, we created the songs and album we’d love to listen to ourselves and we succeeded with that and hope you’ll like it as much as we do!”

“The only horrible thing in the world is ennui… That is the one sin for which there is no forgiveness.” – Oscar Wilde

Shrouded in a veil of mystery and death, Belarussian black metal act KHANDRA will soon unleash their new offering, ‘All occupied by sole Death,’ upon mankind. Characterized by aggressiveness, dissonance and by creating a strong sense of atmosphere, the band’s third assault seamlessly fits in with the wave of black metal fronted by MGŁA and BLAZE OF PERDITION.

KHANDRA’s first revelations were perpetrated in October 2017 under the banner ‘All is of no avail,’ which subsequently merged with its successor ‘There’s no division outside existence’ in October 2018. These seeds sprouted even more fatal progression of metastases which transformed into ‘All occupied by sole Death.’

“Khandra” [xɐnˈdra] is a term that describes the feeling of crippling listlessness or melancholy that takes one over when in a state of boredom. However, the band’s overarching concept challenges this notion of ennui, attempting to exceed the limits of the imagination, utilizing music as a vessel of expression that has no emotional or logical confines.
