J.D. OVERDRIVE, a southern metal band from Poland, return this Spring with their final studio album.
The release of “Funeral Celebration”, as the album will be called, is planned for May, 7th 2021. This will be their fifth and final album. The band comment: “After fourteen wonderful years we’ve decided to call it quits. This decision was not made harshly, we thought about this for a long time and came to the conclusion that since we’re facing some unavoidable changes within the band anyway, the best solution will be to ride out into the sunset on our own terms. That’s what the ‘celebration’ part of the title is about – we don’t want to leave you saddened but rather invite you to join us in celebrating what we leave behind. (…) In our opinion, things do come full circle on this album and it’s the perfect way for us to say goodbye. Since we’re running this funeral event, don’t expect us to disappear completely from the face of the earth just yet. We are planning a few shows that will promote our new material and give us a chance to see you all one last time.”
“Funeral Celebration” will feature nine brand new tracks, as well as a newly recorded version (with new, udpated lyrics) of “Come Full Circle”, a track from their 2008 debut EP recorded as Jack Daniels Overdrive.
The band comment: “Our 5th full length album will definitely be something special, and for a number of reasons. While with some tracks we’ve tried to improve our well-known formulas, on others we experimented with totally new elements. We’ve started working on the music long before the Covid-19 pandemic hit us but even though we had a fixed concept for this album from the get-go, the harsh reality around us definitely made an impact on the writing process. This will be a bitter-sweet record, very much adequate to what we’re all feeling right now.”
The official music video for their new song “The Ferryman Cometh” can be seen here:

Described as the Album they always promised to make, the forthcoming release see’s GYPSY PISTOLEROS fully embracing their fiery flamenco/rumba passion & crossover punk Rock n Roll leanings! Latin Rock’s Appetite for Destruction, ‘The Mescalito Vampires’ on Heavy Rocka cometh!
Gypsy Pistoleros are best described as being the ideal house band for the fictitious Titty Twister bar of Rodriguez’s From Dusk till Dawn. Between the nods to Morricone’s tense, tumbleweed atmospheres and the Gypsy Kings’ manic Mediterranean energy, a New York Dolls raw glam spark and a surplus of prime G ’n’ R attitude, the Pistoleros‘ sonic style is captured to the full with the release of an album they have always threatened!
Gypsy Pistoleros remain something truly unique and interesting in today’s predictable musical landscape. Combining their truly unique mix of flamenco rumba which gleefully collides with old school punk rock ‘n’ roll riffs in a head on collision. In the best rock ‘n’ roll tradition, with big hooks, attitude, and sleaze. Yet those flamenco breaks got into your head and refuse to leave – this hybrid rocks.
“The Pistoleros are sheer musical escapism” – Malcolm Dome Classic Rock Magazine

“Gypsy Pistoleros are a thrill-a-minute collection of melodic eye-patch swagger that smells of exotic spices and forbidden concubines. The Gypsy Pistoleros sound like Hanoi Rocks, if Hanoi Rocks were sultans and snakecharmers.” – Sleazegrinder-Classic Rock Magazine
“This, actually, is as good as sleaze ever got in the last decade. Gypsy Pistoleros were, and still are, a breath of fresh air. You will never hear another band like this. They are the greatest flamenco sleaze glam band ever.” Maximum Volume Music – Andrew Thorley
“Gypsy Pistoleros dub themselves “The World’s Greatest Flamenco Sleaze Glam Rock ‘N’ Roll band Ever!” Doesit work? Are you fucking kidding me? When Kris Jones drops the mariachi trumpet, it’s on!” BEAVER BUZZ RADIO – Dave Wilks
“Can you imagine Sleaze, Glam, Hard Rock, Punk and some Flamenco rolled into one with a whole lot of Spanish attitude oozing out it? Imagine no more – The Gypsy Pistoleros will give it all to you, and you will love every minute of it and want to reach for a tequila shot”.- ***** Michele Storm Hairspray Heaven

From the New York Dolls to Guns N’ Roses via El Bronco the Gypsy Pistoleros have got a stunning TexMex thing going on. Gypsy Pistoleros are the undisputed kings of Flamenco Sleaze”– Pulse Alternative Magazine
This mongrel offspring of fiery flamenco/rumba passion and gritty gutter glam, was born roamin’ somewhere between Barcelona and Worcester. Standing alone in musical ancestry and sum sound, they are one of those most rare acts who can honestly claim the tag ‘unique’

VREID is now pleased to announce their exciting and unique partnership with the Sogndal Football Club! The club has for many years been known for developing and cultivating extraordinary talent, as the men’s team currently plays in first division, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system.
Now, Sogndal Football Club is paying tribute to the band that has brought Sognametal to the whole world, by putting the logo of metal veterans and forefathers VREID on the chest of player’s uniforms for this upcoming season.
The concept of a football club choosing to use the space to pay tribute to local heroes is very unusual, breaking typical partnership traditions, but Sogndal is no ordinary club. The collaboration oozes local patriotism as it champions two of the region’s prime exports – football and metal. In addition, head coach and former professional player Eirik Bakke (Leeds United) has himself played football with members of VREID, bringing this collaboration full circle.
“Having our logo on the chest on Sogndal football’s kit is an honor that is very rare,” VREID bassist Jarle ‘Hvall’ Kvåle pridefully exclaims. “This football club has been hammered into our hearts since growing up. This is the club that was our whole childhood and youth, and it is with favorite teams as with favorite bands, it is love for life.”
“That Sogndal Football incorporates VREID in its value in such a way shows the will, madness, fearlessness and pride that has built this club. Since the 1970s, these pioneers with enormous courage have built a national top club in this beautiful mountain village, and it is wonderful to see that the club is characterized by tenants, staff, players, partners and the public with a passion for the team and their hometown. The eternal underdog who constantly does the unnatural. We are extremely proud to be part of the journey of our childhood friend and Sogndal’s legend Eirik. Stao no pao!”
Proud head coach and former Leeds United player Eirik Bakke adds: “Incredible fun that my childhood friends Jarle, Einar and Jørn together with the rest of the gang in VREID will be presented on our uniform. What they have achieved with their band is just absolutely fantastic. I myself have been out in the big world and played football in front of tens of thousands of supporters, and that they now do the same with their music makes us Sogndøler proud. This year we will go all the way with VREID on the team. Stao no Pao.”
On April 30th, VREID will release their brand new album and movie ‘Wild North West’. Watch the latest single “Spikes of God” below. Pre-orders are still available HERE.
Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from The Metal Voicerecently interviewed Dokken, Lynch Mob guitarist George Lynch, who spoke about The End Machine‘s new album Phase 2 which was released April 9 2021 via Frontiers.
Lynch also spoke about Randy Rhoads and his time teaching at Musonia as well as an understanding they made.
Was the new The End Machine album supposed to sound similar to the Dokken sound? “We set out to recreate the chemistry and mentality of the writing process and the compositional chemistry that Jeff (Pilson) and I had. So that is what we tried to recreate, not necessarily tried to plagiarize Dokken’s songs or sound but just being in that frame of mind. I think we did a good job on that. We decided on this record to go back and place more importance on the fundamentals like having the biggest hook as possible and most memorable sing a long hooks, easy to digest, with easy digestible tempos and structures and a tried true western music formula. We kind of went back to that with some other elements in there. Really what it comes down to is giving the majority of the people what they want and in some sense we are selling a product and it becomes more challenging for us in later years to recreate that people know and love about what we do or have done in the past. We are constantly hearing complaints from people saying, ok you are reinventing yourself you do all these other things what about the core thing that you are known for how come you don’t do that anymore? So we had to address that and it has been challenging, it’s hard to do. The hardest thing for me to do and I can speak for Jeff (Pilson) as well is to recreate something we were 35 years ago. Very difficult to do that I have tried before and not have succeeded where i have had better success reinventing myself “
Is the new album Phase 2 infused with different influences? “Sure, it always has, Dokken wasn’t a pure thing either, Dokken was just a bunch of other influences. There was a whole lot of Judas Priest influence in Dokken and others you name it just about anything. Late 60’s music, 70’s and contemporary bands at the time that were influencing us. So we weren’t immune from the influences, Dokken is an amalgamation of all our influences and everything we create now is a continuation of that and Dokken is one of our influences, we have come full circle.”
Were you a student of Randy Rhoads or did you teach at Musoina (Rhoads music School) what was your connection to Randy Rhoads? “I taught at Musonia. We (randy Rhoads) played shows together frequently, we rehearsed in the same rehearsal facility and shared the same rooms. We had a lot of opportunities to hang out, share licks, talked occasionally, we weren’t like friends or anything but we were in the same business and ran in the same circles and ran into each other all the time. I know that he appreciated my playing and liked my playing. He would bring people to see me frequently including his mom. We were both up for Ozzy. I was up for Ozzy on three different occasions and one of the times was when Randy got it over me and then the understanding was that between whichever one of us got it the other one would teach at Musoina. Well i got the consolation prize. Randy told his mom if anything ever happened with him that he would want me to fill in if possible (teaching) if i would be willing to, so I did. “
he End Machine is a project created, overseen and directed by Serafino Perugino President and A&R director of Frontiers Records.
THE END MACHINE are back with their sophomore album, “Phase2,” which follows on the heels of their well-received and successful self-titled debut album released in 2018. The End Machine features former classic lineup Dokken members George Lynch and Jeff Pilson with the awesome singer Robert Mason (Warrant, Lynch Mob) on lead vocals. Classic Dokken drummer Mick Brown handled drums on the first album, but is now retired, so in his place behind the drum kit is none other than his brother Steve Brown.
The new record builds on the great bluesy hard rock music of the debut, but sees the band move more towards the classic Dokken sound and the result is a 2.0 reboot of a killer music machine!
Italy´s technical Death Metal heavyweight HIDEOUS DIVINITY put out the second brutal single “Chestburst” from their forthcoming EP “LV-426”, which is going to be released via Century Media Records on April 23rd together with a visualizer video based on the astonishing album art.
The band comments on “Chestburst”:
“That persistent beat in James Horner’s ‘Face Huggers’ theme from the movie score… it all starts there. If ‘Acheron Stream of Woe’ is the epic theme, then ‘Chestburst’ is the crazy fast escape tune; it’s the soundtrack of alien drones hunting the Colonial Marine squad. And no, there’s no happy ending”.
Hideous Divinity deliver their staggering conceptual EP “LV-426”. The concept of the EP is a sub-narrative of the second Alien movie, directed by James Cameron.
The band states “We chose to concentrate on the story of Rebecca ‘Newt’ Jorden, the 6-year old girl rescued on the alien infested planetoid LV-426 by Ellen Ripley. We live the story from her point of view, a mixture of childhood’s happy life and memories cut off by the alien attack.”
The EP includes two brand-new Hideous Divinity tracks (“Acheron, Stream of Woe” & “Chestburst”) and a smashing Tech-Death cover version of Coheed and Cambria’s “Delirium Trigger”. Like its predecessor “Simulacrum” the EP has been produced by Stefan Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio who refined the bands signature sound consisting of bone-crushing riffs, superb drumming, and frightful vocals. Also, the EP features a stunning Alien-themed artwork by Colin Estrada.
“LV-426” will be available as Ltd. CD Edition (Pocket Pack) and on all digital platforms.
