YouTube Guitar Sensation BERNTH To Release Debut Album ‘Elevation’ On May 14th

Rising YouTube guitar sensation BERNTH has announced his debut album Elevation, scheduled for release on May 14, by lighting his guitar on fire with three flamethrowers – and shredding on it afterwards!

“My biggest goal with ‘Elevation’ was writing the ultimate guitar album,” says BERNTH. “A mix of completely new sounds with traditional elements all guitar enthusiasts love: blazing shreds, inescapable hooks, and captivating songwriting!”

The clear message: You Can’t Kill Guitar Music:

BERNTH now has the fastest-growing YouTube metal guitar channel in recent years, surpassing 270,000 subscribers and 12 million views in just one year of uploading regularly.

Pre-orders for the album are available today and guitarists can claim one of 108 limited box sets including a free Elixir strings 10|46 Optiweb set and Ibanez Jazz III grip picks at https://bernth.myshopify.com/.

The task of creating his first instrumental album proved loftier than expected. After scrapping a full album, noting that “it wasn’t good enough, there was nothing special or unique about it, and I felt like the world didn’t need another by-the-books instrumental record like this,” BERNTH embarked on a long tour with a well-known Austrian pop/rock act later that year, followed by a much-needed vacation with his girlfriend on a secluded Colombian island.

“That’s when the sound and production style suddenly came to me, step-by-step, and I couldn’t wait to return to Austria to restart the project,” BERNTH says. “Everything came together quickly after this small epiphany and I re-worked existing ideas and came up with new and different sounds to make this album special and meaningful. With the help of acclaimed and much-awarded Austrian producer Daniel Fellner, ‘Elevation’ was finally finished in 2020 and I could focus on the release and finishing the ambitious music videos.”

Four years in the making, Elevation is full of signature high adrenaline shredding and embodies the absolute dedication and perfectionism BERNTH’s viewership is already accustomed to. To give a taste of what’s to come, BERNTH‘s stunning and virtuosic new interpretation of Paganini‘s “24th Caprice” will be released on his channel and on all streaming platforms as the first single on April 23.

“There are so many articles online claiming that rock music, especially guitar music, is dying and becoming more and more irrelevant nowadays,” says BERNTH. “Thankfully, many aspiring players proved the world wrong since they took over social media with their amazing skills! This is what also re-kindled my passion for the instrument and led me to build my own presence on Instagram and YouTube.”

Before focusing on his YouTube and Instagram presence,BERNTHmainly worked with the Austrian pop/rock actSeiler und Speer, playing on multiple gold and platinum certified albums and singles in his home country. His roots lie in the extreme metal genre, where he started his career as a session/live guitar player for the Austrian bandBelphegorin 2010. He also wroteDavid Hasselhoff‘s debut metal song “Through the Night” with his electronic metal projectCueStack. Aside from his work on stage and in the studio, he is a double honor student of the Vienna Music Institute, where he studied jazz guitar and instrumental pedagogics. BERNTH has taught over 10,000 students in the last two years with his online courses, “10 Steps to Modern Shredding” and “Sweep Picking Masterclass” onwww.bernth.atand with this weekly video lesson content onwww.patreon.com/bernth

DREAM THEATER’s Jordan Rudess on Mike Portnoy: ‘Time Heals All Wounds, We Were Happy To Be Together & Making Music in LTE’

Jimmy Kay and Former Anthrax singer Neil Trubin spoke to Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess about the new Liquid Tension Experiment album 3 (via InsideOut Music), his solo album and gave an update on Dream Theater upcoming new album.

Tell us about working on this new LTE 3 album
“LTE is a little more open to other things, it’s not about the brand if you will, there is room to do other stuff which is really fun.  Going into this LTE 3  album there was more pressure because all the fans are saying we want new Liquid Tension music and that ups the anti of coming up with something cool. The good part was it worked out because it is a very honest collaboration, we go into it with our hearts open and we just do our thing. “

Tell us about working with LTE again after all these years with the line up change in Dream Theater (Mike Portnoy)
“When we walked into the studio with Mike (Portnoy) it had been eleven years since we were all in the studio together (Dream Theater). It had been over 20 years since we had been in the studio all together as LTE. It’s pretty crazy if you think about it. What the whole experience really taught me about time and gave me new perspectives on what that all means. It was so immediate like we had never been apart and it was over 20 years. As far as the dynamic with Mike (Portnoy) obviously Mike left Dream Theater 11 years ago but our resonance together in the studio and friendship was so real and comfortable we fell back into our groove. It was even smoother than it  was and probably because everybody was a little older, time has gone by, time heals. So any kind of wounds that were from that  11 year old situation, it was gone. We were just happy to be together, we were happy to make music together and I think it really showed. “

Can you give us an update on the new upcoming Dream Theater album
“We are looking really good we had a great start in writing it, now we are going to be mixing it, mastering it. I am super excited about it, it sounds really really cool. People are gonna love it. It’s not coming out for a while so there is not too much one can say about it at this point.”

The band comments on ‘No History’:
“No History might be the most Noctiferia song on the Reforma album. It is very dynamic and It has all the elements we are known for. Massive riffs, wicked atmosphere, emotional guitar solo and some blast beats to top it all off. Also Giani went a step further with the vocals on this one and the whole thing just sounds heavy! And it’s a great song to play live, which in a way explains the video we made for it.”

Just previously, NOCTIFERIA, released their first single and video “Now You Will Pay” feat. metal legend David Vincent. In case you missed it, watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9W7TrFiZxU

More about NOCTIFERIA

Ljubljana’s underground legends NOCTIFERIA, have been spreading their unique style of the Slovenian Extreme Metal Movement since the beginning. Few could predict what the band and its members would mean for the whole scene in the years to come. Today, just as it sometimes seems that the artists have drained all genres of originality and that all the new musical styles have already been discovered, here comes NOCTIFERIA, bringing something fresh, a mix of styles that is uniquely theirs. NOCTIFERIA have toured Europe and UK with bands like In Flames, Hypocrisy, Mayhem, Samael, Marduk etc. Toured China couple of times so far and performed at various European festivals (at Wacken Open Air 2015 as first Slovenian band ever, Bloodstock, etc.).

What makes them unique is the way they explore music. Band has collaborated with electronic music producers, symphony orchestra, released acoustic album and has incorporated in their music elements of black, death, industrial metal and world music with modern touch. Quality and diversity is band’s motto. Noctiferia strives to always release high quality products and to not repeat themselves artistically.
