ALLUVIAL Sign With Nuclear Blast, New Album Coming May 28th

ALLUVIAL have joined Nuclear Blast, announcing their new album coming out on May 28th.

ALLUVIAL’s second full-length album, “Sarcoma”, examines people’s connection with pain and the hardships that bind us.

“Sarcoma is a type of cancer that grows from connective tissue in the body,” says guitarist Wes Hauch.“At the end of working on everything, Kevin [Muller] pinpointed that each song on the record was about the different perils that happen at the hand of one man to another. These perils live in our connections to one another, so ‘Sarcoma’ became an apt title.”

As Hauch began writing the record, he took notice of Muller due to his time in SUFFOCATION. After hearing his vocals on a demo, everything simply clicked, and Kevin joined the band. Fast brothers, it fulfilled a long-term goal. â€œ’The Deep Longing for Annihilation’ was supposed to have vocals, but I couldn’t find the right guy,” he adds. â€œSome people possess a rare inability to doubt themselves. Kevin can marry that into performances. The day I heard his vocals over the ‘Sarcoma’ demos was a special one. We’ve become brothers.”

After writing and producing demos at home, ALLUVIAL cut guitars, bass, and vocals with engineer John Douglass (MR. BUNGLE, AMON AMARTH) in Atlanta. The opener ‘Ulysses’ begins with warm guitar echoes before building towards an ominous crescendo. It quickly crumbles under the weight of a thrash riff and brain-rattling growl.

“I was always in trouble in my small hometown,”Hauch says. “After going to a county jail, I joined the military and took orders as an Equipment Operator bound for the US Naval Mobile Construction Battalions. The enlisted side of the military are all misfits of one kind or another. Because of this, it’s really a continuation of high school. The military continued raising us, for better or worse. In 2005, I deployed to Iraq and convoyed throughout Baghdad for seven months. If you were in Iraq from 03 to 08, it was generally pretty bad. Because of that, I wouldn’t call my experience in Iraq “unique,” it was just a hot time over there. If you convoyed, you were gonna get shot at, and you were gonna deal with IED’s. If you were in a camp, you were gonna get mortared. If you were infantry and you were kicking down doors, god bless you, you were gonna have it the worst out of anyone. ‘Ulysses’ is a glossary of my hindsight on that experience.”

‘Ulysses’ is a taste of what’s to come from a band that’s already proven themselves before. They’ve set the stage for their next onslaught, “Sarcoma”, armed with some of the most vicious, technical riffs and merciless vocals that metal has to offer.

“Sarcoma” tracklisting:
1. Ulysses
2. Thy Underling
3. Sarcoma
4. 40 Stories
5. Zero
6. Exponent
7. Sleepers become giants
8. The Putrid Sunrise
9. Sugar Paper
10. Anodyne

For their third full-length release, Norwegian Rockers DOBBELTGJENGER, have come up with “SMOOTH FAILING”,  an album chock-full of catchy songs and funky rhythms, which, according to the band, is:

An explosive, dark and neon saturated party album, where naïve, riff based “the Strokes-esque” themes are met with vigorous grooves and cheeky falsettos. The album is about the gritty “BOOM!”s, manic “FUN!”s, gut wrenching “OH FUCK!”s and terrifying “I LOVE Y…”s of life.

And, with less than a month to go to its 9th April release, Karisma Records have today given fans, old and new, a further glimpse into what they can expect from a lineup that uses an impressive array of instruments and skills, all of which contribute to DOBBELTGJENGER’s distinctive and varied sound.

The glimpse into DOBBELTGJENGER’s universe comes in the form of a single taken from the album and titled “LIVING IN OVERDRIVE” which can be downloaded or streamed from a number of platforms at https://karismarecords.fanlink.to/dobbeltgjenger_living-in-overdrive

According to the band:

“LIVING IN OVERDRIVE ” is about the flamboyancy and recklessness in ÂŤover-experiencingÂť life. Sometimes we see the relationships we encounter and the life that we are living in full color and in 5D. It’s intense, saturated, terrifying and exhilarating, all at the same time”.

For a band whose avowed intention is to bring back not just the Groove, but also the Fun, in Rock Music, Vegard Wikne (OCEAN OF LOTION) vocals, guitars, bass and synths;  Sondre Veland (MAJOR PARKINSON & OSSICLES) drums, percussion, grunts and guitar solo on Johanna; Knut-Martin Langeland Rasmussen on guitars;, Bastian Veland on guitar, synth, percussion  etc., and Jone Kuven on bass, with Jonas FlemsÌter Hamre (session saxophone), are expertly able to stretch their sound in all kinds of directions in order to produce an album is not just about fun, manic or otherwise, but which also comes with a darker side.

As  DOBBELTGENGER explain:

“SMOOTH FAILING”  has been brewing on different computers for over three years. The record was written in a quite tumultuous, manic and self-destructive period of primus motor Vegard Wiknes’  life. SMOOTH FAILING revolves around the delight and self-deception of doing all the wrong things in your life. It´s a dark party album, made for bad decisions!

With artwork by Klende, track listing for “SMOOTH FAILING” is as follows:

  1. ELEPHANTS IN THE ROOM
  2. COME ON OVER
  3. JOHANNA
  4. DIVE IN
  5. BUILDING SKYSCRAPERS

STEVE CROPPER Releases Lyric Video For Title Track Of Upcoming Album ‘Fire It Up’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 14, 2021

Guitar Legend STEVE CROPPER has announced ‘Fire It Up’, calling it his first solo album since 1969. The album is set to be released on April 23rd via Mascot Label Group / Provogue Records.

Watch the video for Fire It Up here:

Vocalist Roger C. Reale:

“Back when I initially heard the track, it had a jump up feel…get started, get moving, look forward to a better day, grab the moment, etc. The title came immediately, so I just dropped the narrative around that. It’s a bit of a call to action…let’s get busy, on any level.”

A founding member of the Blues Brothers and one of Stax Records’ main producers, songwriters, and guitarists – as the guitarist in its house band, Booker T. and the M.G.’s –  Cropper reintroduced classic soul to unsuspecting audiences, with Rolling Stone ranking him in the top 40 all-time greatest guitarists. “Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett, “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding, “Soul Man” and “Hold On I’m Coming” by Sam and Dave — you simply can’t discuss soul music without Steve Cropper. He plays on John Lennon’s Rock N Roll album, Frank Black’s Honeycomb and Fast Man Raider Man albums, and on several albums by Ringo Starr. He’s also produced for John Prine, Jeff Beck, and John Cougar Mellencamp.

In fact, listening to everyone else may be one of the secrets to Cropper’s style. The “Go Getter Is Gone” highlights the album’s collaborative effort. “Roger came up with most of the lyrics here,” he says. “I came up with the rhythms and the grooves and the changes, but I think teamwork is better.” And suddenly a light shines on why Cropper has pursued so few solo records: “When a basketball team wins,” he says, “it’s not the player who made the last three-pointer who wins, it’s the whole team that got him there.”

Track list

  1. Bush Hog Part 1
  2. Fire It Up
  3. One Good Turn
  4. I’m Not Havin’ It
  5. Out of Love
  6. Far Away

  8. She’s So Fine
  9. Two Wrongs
  10. Heartbreak Street

Indian SYSTEMHOUSE33 Release Official Music Video For ‘Lake of Sorrow’

Indian heavy metallers SYSTEMHOUSE33 have released the official video of their track “Lake of Sorrow” from the band’s “End of Days” album. Putting the current state of events in perspective and to commemorate 1 year since the band successfully toured the USA with Soulfly and days before the world went into lockdown mode in 2020, the video is homage to the pre-covid era.

SYSTEMHOUSE33 frontman Samron Jude comments, “This past year has disrupted the very thread of our existence with most of us spending months locked within the confines of borders and homes, even though we’re at the heights of technological advancement, this has affected us in different ways leaving us with memories of ‘better times’ and hanging on to survival mode.
When we wrote this song in 2019, little did we realize that we would be in a loop of uncertainty, suffering and frustration; this is the Lake of Sorrow!”
He adds, “ We are all in this together but it’s time to rebuild and learn from the pre-covid era, a time when everyone was feasting, and making plans for the future before the realization dawned that there was no escaping the nightmare ahead.”

Lake of Sorrow is from SYSTEMHOUSE33’s album END OF DAYS released in 2019 and also features tracks inspired by the book of Revelation and the end time prophecy. The band was among a handful of bands to have successfully completed touring early 2020 before the pandemic struck. SystemHouse33 has been working on new material during the lockdowns and expect to launch a new album in the months ahead.
