World-renowned guitar virtuoso, JOE SATRIANI, has rescheduled his Shapeshifting UK Tour to May 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tickets for his April and May 2021 UK “Shapeshifting” tour dates remain valid for the rescheduled May 2022 dates.

“Due to the ongoing pandemic, unfortunately, we have no choice but to again postpone our upcoming UK tour planned for this spring. The currently rescheduled dates are listed below (additional dates to be announced shortly). Please hold on to your tickets and we look forward to seeing and playing for everyone next year, which can’t come soon enough! Stay safe!” – Joe Satriani

Tickets are available from – www.satriani.com and www.alttickets.com.

The rescheduled 2022 UK dates include Bexhill, De La War Pavilion (May 1), The London Palladium (May 2), Manchester, Bridgewater Hall (May 3), Glasgow, O2 Academy (May 4), Birmingham, Symphony Hall (May 6), Gateshead, Sage Hall 1 (May 7).

Satriani’s latest studio album, “Shapeshifting”, originally released April 2020 via Sony Music/Legacy Recordings, features the radio tracks “Nineteen Eighty” and “Big Distortion”.

Watch the official music video for “Nineteen Eighty” here.

The concert will feature tracks from “Shapeshifting”, plus many of his classic fan favourites including “Surfing With The Alien”, “Always With Me, Always With You”, and “Flying In A Blue Dream”.

The 2022 touring band will feature celebrated drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Fogerty) bassist Bryan Beller (Aristocrats) and keyboardist Rai Thistlethwayte (Thirsty Merc) and Joe Satriani on guitar.

For two decades, the guitar virtuoso has travelled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star “G3” guitar extravaganza. Satriani’s studio and live recordings have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide to date and of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them. His side project, Chickenfoot, featuring former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith saw their debut album certified gold and their second studio album debuted at #9.

Since its debut in 1996, Satriani’s G3 tour has featured the world’s greatest guitarists (everyone from Steve Vai and Eric Johnson to Steve Lukather and Robert Fripp and John Petrucci and Uli Jon Roth) and has become a consistent concert hall sell-out attraction in the U.S., South America, Europe, Australia and Japan. “I think part of its charm and its mojo is in the chemistry of having three top guitarists share what they do on stage,” says Satriani. “It’s fun, it’s unpredictable, it’s wild – it’s everything you could want in a show.”

Since the 2017 release of his “What Happens Next” album, Satriani, toured his G3 Guitar Extravaganza worldwide to critical acclaim, and then embarked on the Experience Hendrix US tour. Last year Satriani announced the re-release of his classic 1987 album, “Surfing With The Alien”, that featured new artwork and a bonus disc, “Stripped – the Backing Tracks”, featuring the songs with all guitar solos removed.

PIL & BUE Release New Single “Everyone’s Just a Kid” And Announce New Album

PIL & BUE are forceful duo from the very depths of northern Norway, who despite their minimal format sound like a full-blown band! Consisting of Gøran Johansen on drums and percussion, and one of Norway’s most unique and powerful voices, Petter Carlsen, on vocals and baritone guitar – Pil & Bue deliver an explosion of raw, hard, and melodic rock with a twist of darkness.

The duo drops their new single titled “Everyone’s Just a Kid” today, and you can listen to it here: https://orcd.co/everyonesjustakid

With subtle, but pronounced references to artists like Placebo, Deftones, Sigur Ros, Anathema and Mars Volta, Pil & Bue delivers “Hard, gloomy & joyful music…” (Metal Hammer NO) based on topics like memories, childhood aspirations, use of imagination, video games, and the intriguing online rabbit holes.

The band´s raw and melodic music quickly struck a note with Hollywood director Tommy Wirkola who included the Pil & Bue single “You Win Again” in his now cult-status movie “Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival January 2014.

Also, their single “Fire” from second album “Forget the Past, Let’s Worry About The Future” is featured on the end credits of Hollywood/Netflix blockbuster “What Happened To Monday” (2017).

In 2021 the band are returning following a three-year hiatus, with big changes in the lineup. Singer and guitarist Petter Carlsen is joined by drummer Gøran Johansen following the departure of former drummer Aleksander Kostopoulos, for the forthcoming album; «The World Is A Rabbit Hole». The upcoming album «The World Is A Rabbit Hole» will be released this Fall via Indie Recordings.

On the theme and idea behind Everyone’s Just A Kid, the first new single from the new album, vocalist Petter Carlsen express the following:

“After becoming a father I realised that we’re all kids in a way. The song is a tribute to the joy and importance of play and the use of imagination. It’s a little feelgood, I think, and also an optimistic view on our future. We have strong belief in/for the generations to come”

Reigning as one of the most well-known and highly critically acclaimed experimental instrumental groups out there with a respected musical legacy spanning nearly 20 years, Irish four-piece GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT just reached a career benchmark with the release of their critical acclaimed 10th studio album, Ghost Tapes #10, a little over a month ago.

Now, the band has released the fourth official video for “In Flux”, taken from Ghost Tapes #10. The six-minute piece of art contains a sample taken from the US Propaganda campaign “Operation Wandering Soul”, in which US forces used eerie sounds and altered voices, with the intention of pretending to be killed Viet Cong, to instill a sense of turmoil and fear. It features one of the album’s most challenging time signatures, needing time to unfold before it sticks in the listener’s head. The song comes together with a stunning and artsy black and white video that perfectly underlines the overall vibe of “In Flux”.

LACUNA COIL are announcing the Official Lacuna Coil tabletop game, HORNS UP!

HORNS UP! is a tabletop (or better yet, concert floor!) party game in pure rock style. Members of the world famous Italian band are known for being avid gamers, but HORNS UP! marks their first foray in the Gaming Industry itself.

The game itself takes place at a LACUNA COIL show, where each player must fight his or her way to be the first to reach the stage. There will obviously be many “friendship-threatening” actions challenging the opponents.

Lacuna Coil band members will be an active presence in the game: they are depicted on the Stage Cards, and each of these will have consequences on the whole audience!

The rules of the game are easy to understand, and each game will be able to host a maximum of 9 players.

The illustrations for the whole project belong to the talented Sara Fornì, who has quite a record for books and games illustrations. This is not the first time the band from Milan enters the geek world: they already made their appearance on multiple covers of Batman comics and they are always present at Lucca Comics and Games events.

The card game Horns Up! will be made in partnership with Labmasu Games and presented in a pre-order campaign that will be launched on Friday 26th March 2021 HERE . The pre-order campaign will be live worldwide and as the number of requested copies rises, the project will become more developed, with new events and new expansions. Shipping Worldwide from November 2021.

ALASE Release New Single And Video ‘Vailla Nimeä’

“Vailla nimeä” single continues on ALASE‘s new, more progressive path. There are two vocalists in the song, of which Juha Tretjakov sang in Alase’s previous song “Poissa silmistä”. Another vocalist, Markus Hirvonen, has sung in several Alase songs (most recently on “Jäljet”), and he has also been the band’s live vocalist. A variety of different vocal styles have been utilized in the song, ranging from brutal growls through screams to beautiful melodic singing. The lyrics and composition go hand in hand, starting with the gloomy wintery death doom metal, moving towards spring and light. “Vailla nimeä” showcases a more modern style than what the band’s previous material has had, and there are more technical riffs and drum parts aboard.

Guitarist Janne Lunnas describes the song: “Markus’ and Juha’s voices fit together very well and sometimes it’s even hard to tell which one is singing at that moment. However, the use of two vocalists in the song allowed more versatility in vocal arrangements – we’re extremely happy with the result. There are more djenty style rhythms in this song than what we usually have had and at least to me it is an interesting addition to the Alase sound. Still, melody and clean vocals play a major role this time too.”
