Power metal sensation FROZEN CROWN have released the first single and videoclip for the song ‘Far Beyond’, taken from the much anticipated third album ‘Winterbane’ which features the new, recently announced line-up.
The song reaffirms all the Frozen Crown’s signature elements (powerful vocals, strong melodic hooks and speed), at the same time showcasing the new members skills that empowers their sound with more dynamics and flashy guitar leads.
The uplifting lyrics are inspired by Dylan Thomas’ poetry and Christopher Nolan’s epic Sci-Fi movie ‘Interstellar’.
‘Winterbane’ will be released on April 23, 2021 on Scarlet Records and Marquee/Avalon (Japan).
Italian metallers LINISTIT will release their debut album “Evil Arises” on March 5th, via Dark Hammer Legion/Volcano Records.
LINISTIT was born in the 2012 from an idea of Claudio Pluchino (Angelus – rhythmic guitar) and Maria Spada (Triria – Voice). The two compose together the first four tracks based on black and death metal. This is the first composing experience of extreme music for them, made with commitment but without expectations. Between 2013 and 2014, Angelus and Triria decide to search for the remaining components to try to form a band. They start rehearsing with some musicians with whom, however, one could not find a right musical and compositional tuning. The Linistit project is being shelved for a while. In 2016 it is felt with the entry of guitarist Vincenzo Abbate (Katros – lead guitar ), with which a strong compactness of group spirit is born. In 2017 the three complete the formation with the insertion of Michele Barrano (Black Beast – drum ex Throne Of Molok) and Paolo Baglieri (Damevil – bass guitar). The complete line-up serious work begins on the project,maintaining a good rhythm of rehearsals and musical composition. From the work of the five components are born six pieces plus an intro. In 2018, Linistit released their first music video clip of the song ‘Linistit’. In the meantime the six tracks and the intro will be completed to make their first album,” Evil Arises”.

By the end of a dark 2020, on November 13rd former DARK TRANQUILLITY guitarist, Niklas Sundin, released his second and critically acclaimed MITOCHONDRIAL SUN solo- album, entitled Sju Pulsarer, through Argonauta Records. Building upon Sundin’s debut, which was released not even a year ago, MITOCHONDRIAL SUN is his first public foray into different musical realms.
The core here is still electronic and instrumental as on the debut, but Sju Pulsarer displays a different and probably more “black metal” aspect of Sundin’s eclectic project. If the first album mainly consisted of quiet meditations on space and time, his Sju Pulsarer (Swedish for “Seven pulsars”) throws the listener into the eye of a relentless cosmic storm, where layers of sound are shattered and rebuilt to the rhythm of ferocious percussion. As opposed to the first album, where every track had its own instrumentation and sonic signature, these songs are very uniform in style: Fast, urgent and chaotic, but still full of emotionally charged melodies and atmospheric soundscapes lurking beneath the surface.
While Sju Pulsarer was released on all digital platforms last November, it‘s finally also now available as an LP and CD edition. To celebrate the physical album release, MITOCHONDRIAL SUN has just premiered a brand new video for the album closing track, Pulsar 7! Barely three weeks after the release of their acclaimed 11th studio album Jylhä, Finnish Folk Metal Superstars KORPIKLAANI prove they still have a few tricks up their sleeves to keep their fans entertained while they can’t go to shows.
As of today, you can watch drummer Samuli Mikkonen rip through the album opening track Verikoira in an entertaining drum playthrough video featuring multiple camera angles.
“The composition of Verikoira was kind of unorthodox. Samuli wrote the drum arrangements on his own first and after the drums were recorded they started to make the music on top of it with Jonne. The main idea was to make a strong opening track full of drums such as JUDAS PRIEST had on their PAINKILLER album. This is what they came up with.”
