SWEET Release “Set Me Free” Single And Official Music Video Trailer

Sweet (Left to Right) – Lee Small (bass, vocals), Bruce Bisland (drums, vocals), Paul Manzi (lead vocals), Andy Scott (lead guitar, vocals), Steve Mann (guitar, keyboards)

SWEET featuring original guitarist Andy Scott, will release their new single “Set Me Free” on March 5th. The new single is taken from the band’s current album “Isolation Boulevard”, and can be pre-saved HERE.

The band have just released the official music video trailer for the “Set Me Free” single which can be watched HERE.

Isolation Boulevard features all the Sweet’s classic hit singles and was recorded with the new line-up during lockdowns between September and October 2020.

It’s a reworking of Sweet’s 1975 album multi-million selling “Desolation Boulevard”. The latest single “Set Me Free” is taken from the album, and although it is one of the most covered songs in the band’s repertoire, this marks the first time Sweet has released it as an official single.

Over the years, the song has been covered by many rock artists including Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Steve Stevens (Billy Idol) and Saxon.

“Recording an album separately in different locations throws up a myriad of technical problems,” says Andy Scott. “It’s impossible for everyone to play at the same time, so all parts are performed the “old” way and then data transferred back to base camp where the magical digital stuff takes over.”

Continues Andy, “Sweet would usually record all together in the studio with a performance rather than individually but the pandemic dictated the ways and means. The result is a mind-blowing set of tracks, all the hits and a barrage of heavy-duty glam rock.”

Andy Scott, the songwriter, and last man standing from the original band, has produced a remarkable album given the challenging circumstances that we face globally today.

NINKHARSAG Share First Single From Upcoming Record

Black Metal unit NINKHARSAG has announced the release of their highly anticipated, sophomore full length album. “The Dread March of Solemn Gods” will be out on April 30th through Berlin’s finest home for blackened underground music, Vendetta Records!

Formed in 2009 with one desire; to create cold, majestic Black Metal in the classic, unspoilt style of old and drawing inspiration from masters such as Mercyful Fate, Bathory, Metallica to the Scandinavian scions of the 90’s like Emperor, Dissection & Mayhem, NINKHARSAG rapidly established themselves in the UK as a unique and powerful force on the Black Metal. Following their latest, critically acclaimed album, “The Blood Of Celestial Kings” (Candlelight Records), the band’s upcoming output is uncompromising in its vision of what Black Metal should be in this era. It is a huge album full of wild, rousing anthems, massive, hook laden riffs and a somber, nocturnal beauty. It takes everything the band had originally sought to do from its inception and turns the volume up past 11. It is the perfect tincture of Black and Heavy Metal; a style of music mostly long lost in this day and age.

Tracklist:
01. Night Wrath
02. The Dread March of Solemn Gods
03. Under the Dead of Night
04. Lunar Hex; or the Art of Mighty Lycanthropy
05. The Necromanteion
06. Discipline Through Black Sorcery
07. The Tower of Perpetual Twilight
08. Spectres of the Ancient World
09. Strigoi Diabolicum
10. The Lord of Death and Midnight ( Digipack CD Bonus Track )

“The Dread March of Solemn Gods” was recorded and produced in 2019 at Foel Studios under the helm of Chris Fielding (Conan, Winterfylleth, Primordial). Listen to a first single, “Under The Dead of Night”, right here:

Slated for a release on April 30th, 2021 via Vendetta Records, “The Dread March of Solemn Gods” will be available on regular black 12″ vinyl, limited edition gold 12″ vinyl, Digipack CD (with bonus track “The Lord of Death and Midnight”), Cassette and all digital streaming services.

Season of Mist is honored to announce a partnership with Haulix to create a mini-season of HIGH NOTES, the critically-acclaimed and first of its kind podcast about addiction and recovery in the music industry. The new episodes will debut in March on all streaming platforms. Listen and subscribe at THIS LOCATION.

The upcoming mino-series will feature personal interviews with SÓLSTAFIR frontman Aðalbjörn Tryggvason,  NUMENOREAN guitarist Roger LeBlanc, and Flying Fox Management founder Erin Lynch, who has been a long time partner and friend of the label.

“We at Season of Mist are extremely thankful for the meaningful work that James and Haulix are doing with High Notes,” says Katy Irizarry, North American Publicist for Season of Mist. “We are so proud of our artists and friends of the label who came together to share their addiction and recovery stories, a feat that requires much courage as there is still a dark stigma attached to this often misunderstood illness. We hope to help erase that stigma and, more importantly, that these stories will help those who are struggling to know they are not alone and that recovery is possible.”

Hosted by Haulix’s Director of Customer Engagement, James Shotwell, HIGH NOTES features exclusive, in-depth conversations with rock and alternative musicians in various recovery stages. Guests from the first two seasons include Shannon Larkin of Godsmack, Brian “Head” Welch of KoRn, Craig Mabbitt of Escape The Fate, Eric Christopher of Hospital Bracelet, Clint Lowery of Sevendust, Amanda Lyberg of Eva Under Fire, Donovan Melero of Hail The Sun, Bert McCracken of The Used, Anthony Green of Circa Survive, and more. Each episode delves into a different guest’s journey to sobriety and the role the music business played in helping (or hurting) their recovery.

“At Haulix, in addition to taking care of our customers, we take pride in using our industry reach to educate and shine a light on topics less heard about, like addiction and recovery,” says company founder and CEO Matt Brown. “Our High Notes series lets us tap into real-world experiences spoken by the artists themselves.”

Besides sharing new episodes, HIGH NOTES is also debuting a new logo for use exclusively in their partnership with Season Of Mist. The logo is the craftsmanship of designer Nick Ferran, who created all promotional art for the series.

Seasons 1 and 2 of HIGH NOTES are available now on all streaming platforms. The show is produced by Landon Defever, with additional help from programming consultant Laura Haggard. The show’s theme music is from the band You, Me, And Everyone We Know. Listen HERE.

Israeli progressive metal outfit SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE this week unveils the details for their anxiously awaited new album, Mountain Fever. The band’s fourth LP, and sixth overall release, marks the band’s first record to see release through their new label home, Sensory Records, who this week unveils the album’s cover art, track listing, and more.

SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE, which until recently was considered a cult studio project for fine taste followers, has transformed over the last two years into an exciting, colorful live act, mixing the traditions of heavy metal together with the aesthetics of world music performance, spiritual punk, and pure rock. Praised by music journalists all over Europe and beyond, the band has taken over the stages, showcasing a distinctly audacious execution of their complex songwriting while maintaining an almost magical grip on their audience, reviewed as rave parties for metalheads.

Led by guitarist Tomer Pink, SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE was previously fronted by Green Carnation vocalist Kjetle Nordhus and Novembers Doom’s Paul Khur. Having officially revamped the lineup in 2018, the band now features a very tight knit, fully group of musicians handpicked from the upper echelons of Israel’s prog scene. Mountain Fever is the band’s first album to be created by this expansive seven-member lineup.

Boasting ten new songs which encompass nearly fifty-five minutes of material, Mountain Fever sees SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE continuing to push the balance between pioneering experimentalism to their own take on modern pop culture and its manifestation in the Middle East. Revealing an album composed of African and Balkan brass sections, Arabic violins, extended vocal techniques, and several special guest appearances, the band explores radio friendly hooks that emerge out of heavy riffs and polychromatic arrangements.

The record features several notable guest contributions, including drumsfrom Matan Shmuely (Orphaned Land), bouzouki and lead guitars on “Mångata” by Idan Amsalem (Orphaned Land), and vocals on “Somewhere I Sadly Belong” by Melechesh Ashmedai (Melechesh) and Jackie Hole (The Super Things).

SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE recorded Mountain Fever Golan Heights, Israel, the album engineered by David Castillo. The record was sent to Fascination Street in Örebro, Sweden (Leprous, Katatonia, Opeth) where it was mixed by Jens Bogren and mastered by Tony Lindgren, then completed with artwork and layout by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight 13 Media.

See the official video for Mountain Fever‘s lead single “Ascend” at THIS LOCATION and find the song on all digital platforms now.

Lasers Edge division Sensory Records will release Mountain Fever worldwide on May 14th across all digital platforms, on CD, and pressed on vinyl as a double LP cut at 45RPM. Watch for preorders to post alongside new audio previews, official videos, and more to be issued over the weeks ahead.

On May 28th 2021 TYGERS OF PAN TANG will release worldwide their album “Majors & Minors” which continues the band’s legacy with a fine selection of songs that were written and recorded over the last 13 years. Not just a “Best of” compilation because the band wanted to offer something special to both loyal fans, collectors and those who have missed our latest records. “It’s like your best Tygers tracks, but all in one place!“- Robb Weir. And once again the stunning artwork will make the products and merchandise associated with the album things of beauty to behold.

The band chose songs on the album which they believed to be classics and to represent the Renaissance of the Tygers boosted by having a Florentine on vocals! Partially written on the road, the tracks not only have killer riffs, balls and power pushing performances to the limit, but express the band’s creativity and musical chemistry for songwriting. Not afraid to even add Spanish Guitars and castanets if a track demands it this band are never boring! Party songs, heavy songs, rock anthems, groovy rock’n’rollers, catchy songs cleverly constructed with accessible melodies, the band has packed all of this in to this meaty package. The contribution of Chris Tsangarides able to pull the best out of the band was instrumental. The band feel that this “new” period of the band which has in fact lasted longer than the original line up has produced songs which are indispensable to the history of the band. “It’s been a lot of fun putting this together, so get yourself comfy, press play and let the Tygers do the rockin.” -Robb Weir

The CD version of the compilation includes “Plug Me In”, never released on CD, a new orchestral version of “Spoils of War”, “What You Say” never released in an album format before. Furthermore, a live version of “Keeping Me Alive”, recorded in 2018, will grace the vinyl format of “Majors & Minors”.

“Majors & Minors” will be released in digital, LP and CD formats by Mighty Music on May 28th 2021. “Tygers music is full of big notes and little notes, so let’s start with a Major one and finish with on a Minor!” – Robb Weir

MOONSPELL Reveal Final Single And Music Video “The Hermit Saints” From Upcoming Album

Tomorrow, February 26 will see Portuguese dark metal godfathers MOONSPELL unleash their highly acclaimed 13th studio album, Hermitage, via Napalm Records.

With Hermitage, MOONSPELL is not only approaching their 30th band anniversary more ambitiously and stronger than ever, but they take us on an entertaining and emotional ride through the darkest days of human existence. MOONSPELL’s forthcoming record is a wonderfully intuitive, yet epic masterpiece, and a testament to what the band always loved the most: Honest metal that binds us even in these dark times.

Building upon the dark, revolutionary and sensitive facets of the album, MOONSPELL’s new album is also epic as hell! Inspired by their metal roots and underground metal bands like Bathory, the final single to surface before Hermitage drops, “The Hermit Saints”, takes us on an epic trip to the heights of the world and the lows of the abysses. Accented by melodic groove and bombastic choruses, this track is sure to become a fan favorite! Watch the new music video for “The Hermit Saints” right here:

“The Hermit Saints unveils even further secrets about our forthcoming album: Hermitage,” says Fernando about the track. “Make no mistake: this is a METAL song played according to Moonspell’s own signature and rules.

This song tells you about the holiness and unholiness of men, about the duality between saints and sinners. It tells of the fever that makes us cross into the desert of our own existences, perpetually looking out for the cure, that will never come until we change our ways.

Many might go. Few will come back. Lock the gates, behold The Hermit Saints!”

Hermitage was recorded, mixed and mastered this past summer by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Paradise Lost, Primordial, Ghost, Sólstafir & many more) at the Orgone Studios in the UK. The haunting cover artwork was created by Latvian artist Arthur Berzinsh.

The album will be out on February 26, 2021 via Napalm Records and will be available in several highly limited and collectible LP Editions, Mediabook and Cassette – all of them including the Candlemass cover “Darkness in Paradise” – in addition to Jewelcase and Digital formats. While the Deluxe Box sold out fast, better be quick and purchase Hermitage now at THIS LOCATION!

“We know that we are entering the final years of our career as musicians: the winter of our lifetime,” vocalist Fernando Ribeiro recently stated. “We don’t care about people saying we’re still young at heart, or “leading” wolves in a pack. We are not! But we do care about how those around us feel about us, and this album is all about how we feel, our answers to your questions.

Under these circumstances, we feel our musical stakes are higher than ever. For us, it’s not about likes or algorithms, reach, or opportunity of growth. We only care about the music. Music does come first on this album you will hold in your hands soon enough.”

He continues: “The record is about turning our backs to the conventions of modernity. We are currently convincing ourselves that it’s all about us, that we (humanity) are everything. That the world revolves around us. However, ipsi facto, we are nothing and nothing revolves around us. Moonspell’s goal, on these last turns around the Sun, is to write the best music we possibly can. To tell you a few stories with our lyrics, to be close to you in these times of distancing. We wish not to tease you or to influence you or to sell you our fish. We want to sit down with you at your table and feast together upon our notes and words. Like if we were close friends, like back in the time where music matters the most. In your bedroom listening to music, without having to post our smart remarks about it, inviting the hate in.

Hermitage is an open-hearted invitation to simplicity. To be humble. To be thankful. To serve you solace. Provide you comfort, entertainment. We sincerely hope this call reaches you. That you kindly accept what we offer. That you take our music with you to the place you must feel as yours. To your secret place, to your hermitage. Blessed be.“

  2. Common Prayers
  3. All or Nothing
