The Valentine’s Day was celebrated with this passionate, emotional new single from Milwaukee’s Matthew Lidwin, frontman for the fast-rising metal outfit 616. Once again co-produced by multi-platinum producer John Fryer (NIN/Depeche Mode/Cocteau Twins), this single unites the talents of skateboarding celebrity Bam Margera, who sings the song’s hook, along with HIM/Flat Earth drummer Gas Lipstick. Together, this team has created a powerful and affecting anthem to the sadness, madness and heartache of love, be it romantic or familial.
Lidwin explains, “Before I started writing music I was really into skateboarding and Bam Margera was my idol on the board (he still is). He was the very reason I ended up making music and he is now a dear friend. Through Bam I heard the band HIM for the very first time and instantly I fell in love with them. ‘Cinderella Valentine’ is my favorite song I’ve written to date. It’s about dealing with loss of a loved one who was just there calling you the day before and the next day they are gone and how that puts life into a whole different perspective. So I picked up the guitar and note pad and wrote the song in 15 minutes. Then I recorded it and it just hit harder than anything I’ve done previously. Then I pitched the song off with the idea to get my idols on it. I sent the song to Bam who agreed to sing the chorus and I sent it to Gas and Gas loved it and agreed to do the drums. Boom! I was f*king speechless. I feel like a lot of people are gonna relate to this song in a very special way and I’m doing my best to Keep LoveMetal and Gothrock Alive!”
Hungarian experimental progressive rockers GHOST TOAST have released a new music video W.A.N.T. (We Are Not Them). The track is taken from their fourth studio album Shape Without Form which is released via Inverse Records.
Band comments: “The samples used in the song are from the film version of George Orwell‘s novel 1984, directed by Michael Radford, along with Francis Ford Coppola‘s movie Apocalypse now.
WANT and its video explores the threat of becoming hollow, a thing that is threatening to all human beings, and how to avoid this threat. The video attempts to represent the lines of T.S.Eliot‘s poem Hollow Men through the images of a metaphorical journey as displayed in Apocalypse now, the hollow created by violence in the pictures of 1984, along with loneliness, hopelessness and emptiness portrayed by independent and amateur (nevertheless brillliant) sources of film footage.”
The lyric video was created by Gerő András Péter (Kill Monday Management), the background video used was done by the band, while the album artwork was created by Antal Miklós Tod.
The band’s album titled Shape Without Form was released on 3rd March 2020 by the finnish label Inverse Records. After the album’s release the band had its first change in membership, drummer Laszlo Papp was replaced by Zoltan Cseros (Zoma).
St. Louis synth metal trio THE LION’S DAUGHTER will be releasing their fourth full-length, ‘Skin Show,’ on April 9 via Season of Mist! The band is now premiering the unnerving and NSFW music video for the brand new single, “Sex Trap.” The clip features visuals from Mothmeister and Guilherme Henriques, the latter of whom created the video, can be seen at THIS LOCATION.
Frontman Rick Giordano comments, “Whatever you think this song is about, you are probably wrong… it’s about something much, much worse.”
‘Skin Show’ could serve as the soundtrack to Times Square in the 1970s – the epicenter of sin and salacious misdeeds; a haven for sex, drugs, and crime beneath the inviting glow of neon signs from sleazy adult video stores; a place one would not dare walk alone after midnight unless tempted by devil himself. Its deviant, raw, nasty, disturbing, and yet, the most lively, evolved, and polished version of the trio yet.
The album artwork was once again created by Mothmeister
‘Skin Show’ Tracklist: 01. Become the Night (4:26) 02. Curtains (4:17) 03. Neon Teeth (4:19) 04. Dead in Dreams (3:30) 05. Werewolf Hospital (3:22) 06. Sex Trap (4:06) 07. Snakeface (4:07) 08. All Hell is Mine (3:55) 09. Skin Show (4:02) 10. The Chemist (6:06)
Dutch Symphonic metal band EPICA will release their new album ‘Ωmega’ on February 26th through Nuclear Blast. Today the band reveals a music video for an acoustic version of the title track, named ‘Omegacoustic’.
“It’s always a lot of fun to work on acoustic versions of new songs. For this one, I stripped down the title song of our upcoming album and wanted to give it an uplifting country vibe. Also, it’s the first time we are releasing an acoustic version before the actual album version! I absolutely can’t wait for you to discover the original. Hang on, the 26th is coming!”, comments guitarist Isaac Delahaye.

Colorado’s STONE DEAF have released their latest singleThe Velvet Hammer via Coffin & Bolt / Golden Robot Records today, February 15th. The Velvet Hammer comesoff their upcoming album ((Killers)).
The Velvet Hammer is another desert rock scorcher. One to crank up on a long drive on the sun-drenched highways. There is a little Queens of The Stone Age vibe to this track as it winds through its journey.
The Velvet Hammeris the follow up to recent singlesCloven HoofandPolaroid. There is a uniqueness to Stone Deaf, they manage to blend desert and stoner rock with an old-school US punk edge and that is evident on Cloven Hoof.Stone Deaf produce a unique fusion of genre bending sonic goodness.
Put that shoehorn down cause those boots are stayin’ on and scootin’ over to the dance floor for Stone Deaf’s Polaroid. With more hooks than Tyson, Polaroid is an auditory strip tease you can’t turn away from.
