VESSEL OF LIGHT‘s Dan Lorenzo posted online a video for ‘The Cursed’, featuring Bobby Blitz, filmed from their LaMour -reunion. The video was created by Jason Stewart. ‘The Cursed’ is taken from ‘Room Full of Sinners’ 2007 album. Watch it below.

Dan Lorenzo on the video:
“Bobby Blitz and I released THE CURSED Room Full of Sinners in 2007 with Mike Cristi on drums and Job The Raver on bass. This footage is from a LaMour reunion ( not at LaMour) where we jumped on stage and played 4-5 songs. Photos are from our only real show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC.”

Just recently, California’s Nomad Eel Records released VESSEL OF LIGHT’s single ‘Torture King’ (from their new release ‘Last Ride’). The B-side is a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Foxy Lady’ unavailable elsewhere. The 7″ is lathe cut and hand numbered. Artwork designed by vocalist Nathan Opposition. Torture King is the band’s latest video and single.

Buy the ‘Last Ride’ here.

The most refined of VESSEL OF LIGHT’s releases, Last Ride, released October 23, 2020, via Nomad Eel Records, is rife with depth, harmonies, the trademark riffs and guitar sound of guitarist Dan Lorenzo while also maintaining a familiar feel. Like the haunting first single and title track from Last Ride, “There’s No Escape” has a sinister lyrical theme, keeping in line with the darker subjects that permeate this record.

Founded in 2017 by Lorenzo, best known for his work with seminal New Jersey bands Hades and Non-Fiction, and Cleveland based Opposition, the duo released two albums, Vessel of Light and Woodshed, with Italian label Argonauta Records before introducing former Overkill drummer Ron Lipnicki and former Hades bassist Jimmy Schulman into the fold for the recording of a third album, Thy Serpent Rise. It wasn’t until VESSEL OF LIGHT’s first live show before a sold-out crowd at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom with Life of Agony that vocalist and the band’s new drummer and bassist finally met, merely hours before the quartet hit the stage.

RADIO MOSCOW Release CD/DVD Set, ‘Live At Rockpalast 2015’

One of today’s top blues-rock-psych bands, RADIO MOSCOW, has dug into their archives and unearthed the recently released ‘LIVE AT ROCKPALAST 2015.’ Featuring members singer/guitarist Parker Griggs, bassist Anthony Meier, and drummer Paul Marrone, the 15-track release (filmed on May 18, 2015) includes fully-cranked versions of all the Radio Moscow classics fans have come to expect hearing on the concert stage – “I Just Don’t Know,” “250 Miles,” “Broke Down,” “Brain Cycles,” “No Good Woman,” etc.

According to the group’s manager, Bruce Duff, the idea behind issuing the performance was a simple one. “MIG licensed it from the Rockpalast company, it’s a big reissue campaign involving numerous artists.” And the result is extraordinary – “Live its louder, more direct, and more open to free-form improvisation.”

And this stellar concert recording is certain to lead to further accolades bestowed upon the band – such as the Blue Rock Review site calling the trio “hard-hitting masters of the craft,” while the Obelisk site raved, “If you don’t already know Radio Moscow are one of the best and most vital bands currently boogieing their way around the planet, you’ve probably never seen them live.”

Formed in 2003 by Griggs in Ames, Iowa, the band has been based in San Diego county, California, for several years now. Radio Moscow has released four studio albums to date: 2007’s self-titled debut – produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, who introduced the band to Alive Natural Sound records, the label that has released the band’s next three albums – 2009’s ‘Brain Cycles,’ 2011’s ‘The Great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz,’ and 2014’s ‘Magical Dirt’ (the last title being the one that the trio was supporting at the time of this performance’s taping). And in 2017, the group offered up ‘New Beginnings’ – their first for Century Media Records.

And as Bruce points out, there are quite a few standout performances to be witnessed throughout ‘Crossroads Festival 2015.’ “I like a lot of the songs that were from ‘Magical Dirt,’ which was new at the time this was recorded, such as ‘Rancho Tehama Airport,’ ‘Gypsy Fast Woman’ and ‘Death of a Queen.’  I also was surprised by the acoustic bonuses which I’d not heard before, the Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac cover ‘World Keep on Turning,’ and Radio Moscow standard ‘250 Miles’.”

Radio Moscow has toured and performed throughout the world with the likes of Graveyard, Witchcraft, Joe Bonamassa, Pentagram, the Sheepdogs, Nebula, and Bang, to name but a few. In addition to performing at the Crossroads Festival, they have played the Ride Festival, Desert Daze, Electric Funeral, End Hip End It, the Psycho California festival, and as is only appropriate, have headlined shows in both St. Petersburg and Moscow in Russia.

To experience Radio Moscow in all their high-energy, sweaty, and amplified glory, you have made a very wise selection…‘Crossroads Festival 2015’ is a definitive, must-see/must-hear live document of the trio. Or as their manager describes it, “Electrifying transcendence.”

SUMMONING THE LICH Release New Single ‘Cult of the Ophidian’

SUMMONING THE LICH have today released the new single, Cult of the Ophidian, taken from their recently announced debut album, United In Chaos. Accompanying the single, SUMMONING THE LICH have also shared a suitably macabre music video for the track. Directed by Danny Tilson, the clip alternates between the band adorned in occult robed attire and performing together.

United In Chaos is due out on February 26 and is available to pre-order here.

Listen to Cult of the Ophidian on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

Taking inspiration from the best elements of Lord of the Rings, Magic The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and Adventure Time, and wrapping it up in a fantastical death metal parcel, SUMMONING THE LICH has an attention to detail and commitment to storytelling that is second to none. United In Chaos tells the tale of the rise of the Lich and fall of the Kingdom Rodor – and the spread of his wicked influence across the land as his power grows.

Speaking on the release of Cult of the Ophidian, the band comment: “Cult of the Ophidian follows The Nightmare Begins andtakes you to the Veiled Island where Rodorian mages live shielded from the outside world. The Watchers (a line of mages blessed with foresight) are tasked with warning the island of any impending danger, and this song follows his story as he tries to warn of the deep seeds of betrayal unraveling before his third eye.”

Of the music video, the band add: “We once again worked with the incredible Danny Tilson, who produced this insane video along with additional videography by Sam Beck, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome!”

The album follows a well-received, self-titled demo and live dates alongside heavy-hitters such as Origin, Beneath The Massacre, and several stops on the Summer Slaughter tour. Having honed their craft, they entered Sicktones Studios studio with producer Jack Daniels in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in September 2019. With mastering completed by John Douglass, the result is a technical, abrasive journey through fantasy-driven, modern death metal.

On United In Chaos, SUMMONING THE LICH haven’t just championed a fantasy world, they’ve created one in their own vision; this release marking merely the first chapter in a trilogy of albums that explores the outer limits of their imaginations. By inserting their storytelling chops into songs crammed with memorable hooks and meaty riffs, SUMMONING THE LICH have invited listeners to roll the dice and join the adventure.

United In Chaos will be released via Prosthetic Records on February 26, 2021.

Napalm Records is pleased to welcome an outstanding new post rock discovery to its growing roster. Germany’s THERE’S A LIGHT has just inked a worldwide record deal with the premier rock and metal label!

After releasing their first EP, Khartoum, in 2012, the five-piece from the German black forest area set another milestone in their yet young career when unveiling the critically acclaimed debut album, A Long Lost Silence, in July 2018. Followed by an adventurous touring ride through China, where they performed ten shows at some sold out venues, THERE’S A LIGHT have already proven that the world is ready for these highly talented musicians to be heard!

With their symbiosis of post rock and ambient music, THERE’S A LIGHT creates a layer of sonic soundscapes leading to an inimitable state of mind that comes close to an out-of-body experience. Everything physical seems to fade away as their hauntingly beautiful tunes fill the void with their all-consuming atmosphere, while showcasing that even in the darkest times, there’s still a light somewhere out there that inspires us to keep going.

THERE’S A LIGHT is currently working on their second full-length album – more to be announced soon!

THERE’S A LIGHT states:
“We are happy and proud to be a part of the Napalm Records family now. This is a big step for us as a band and we are excited to conquer new horizons with this deal. Currently, we are writing on our second album and cannot wait to record and release it via Napalm this year.”

Napalm Records A&R Sebastian Muench states:
“The band’s 2018 debut, A Long Lost Silence is, in my opinion, one of the best post rock albums that has ever been released! THERE’S A LIGHT have the talent to be the next God Is An Astronaut, Russian Circles or Sigur Ros. We are truly excited and proud to be in a position to work with such an inspiring band in the future!”
