Favorite Hollywood hired-gun, bassist Sean McNabb, took to the studio to record a classic Albert King song “Born Under A Bad Sign.” McNabb brought in some of music’s elite to round out this Mississippi Blues driven song. “I have always loved the blues, it really resonates with me,” explains McNabb. The official video to be released on Cleopatra Records, Tuesday, January 26^th.

McNabb undertook this blues project with a lot of love and honesty of one of his favorite blues heroes, Albert King. “I am known as a bassist, but I love to sing and this song spoke to me. It fits my voice like a glove and I am so honored to sing this track.” McNabb further states, “Some of my favorite blues legends are Albert King, Buddy Guy, B.B. King and Eric Clapton.”

To make this experience roll smooth, McNabb enlisted friends Gilby Clarke (Recorded/Mixed/Backgrounds), Toshi Yanagi (guitar/Rec/Mastered), Cleto Escobedo III (sax), Teddy Zig Zag (keys) and Lenny Roberto (drums). McNabb maintained bass duties and took on lead vocals. His natural whiskey-soaked voice and vocal expression drives home a tasty new version of “Born Under A Bad Sign.”

McNabb is best known as a rock n’ roll bassist, working and recording with such names as Dokken, Quiet Riot, House of Lords, Great White and Montrose. McNabb has also played and recorded with a diverse array of artists from Willie Chambers, Don Felder, Edgar Winter, to The Music of Cream.

McNabb is also an actor, most recently in Street Survivors-story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash(Amazon Prime, 2020). He’s had two supporting roles in movies on Lifetime Network, Dying for a Baby and Cheerleader Nightmare, as well as seasons 4-6 of Sons of Anarchy (FX). He has lead role and producer credits on the upcoming feature Captain 80’s now in pre-production.

GAEREA Announce Irish Tour Dates In September

Cathartic black metal outfit GAEREA are now announcing their very first arrival in Ireland, in September 2021. Together with WINTERFYLLETH, the band will bring their Vortex Performance to Limerick, Dublin and Belfast. Tickets will be on sale on February 4th at 10:00 GMT / 11:00 CET.

Poisonous Dark Metallers CRADLE OF FILTH reveal the title of their forthcoming 13th studio album as being “Existence Is Futile”. Their monumental new opus -the 13th (unlucky for all) studio album of the band to date – was once again recorded at Grindstone Studios with producer Scott Atkins and is embellished with artwork from Arthur Berzinsh, who is guilty of accomplishing the last two album artworks in the Cradle back canon. Further nihilistic details from the crypt will soon see the light of day.

“The stunning new album is everything you can expect from the many shades of black that go to discolour a CRADLE OF FILTH release and far, far, worse” frontman Dani Filth stated yesterday.

“Existence Is Futile” which features a new as-yet-named keyboardist/backing singer, is due to be unleashed later this year through Nuclear Blast Records.

Thrash Metal Giants EVILE Release New Album ‘Hell Unleashed’ On April 30th

Since their formation in 2004, British thrash titans EVILE have been turning heads and taking names, delivering four pure thrash offerings blended with an uncompromising death metal assault! Their upcoming fifth studio album, entitled Hell Unleashed, will impact the metal masses on April 30, 2021 via Napalm Records, and is the long-awaited successor to their 2013 release, Skull. Featuring the new exciting line-up formation of the talented Ol Drake on vocals/guitars and new member Adam Smith of RipTide as rhythm guitarist, Hell Unleashed is a raucous and masterful thrash metal attack!

“After a long eight years, EVILE is finally coming back with our fifth studio album, ‘Hell Unleashed‘ in April; a nine-track onslaught of unrelenting Thrash Metal. I have no qualms in saying that this is the best Thrash Metal album in at least the last 20 years.” Ol Drake comments. “Those who haven’t been keeping up with EVILE may notice a change in vocals and vocalist. Matt left the band last year for health and personal reasons, and we decided it would be best to keep the new vocalist a familiar face within the band, so I stepped into the vocalist shoes, while remaining on lead guitar and I’m very happy and excited to do it – one of my heroes is Chuck Schuldiner, so it made sense to me; EVILE needs to sound evil and vile, and we’ve achieved that more this time with a much more aggressive approach on ‘Hell Unleashed.'”

In celebration of their return and the announcement of Hell Unleashed, the band has just revealed a blistering music video for the album’s title track! With double the amount of power, twice the speed, untamed brute and blazing riffs, “Hell Unleashed” will propel old and new fans to the status of eternal mayhem and thrash euphoria. “The title track ‘Hell Unleashed‘ is the first single/video we’re releasing, directed by James Mansell, who I previously worked with on some short films of his.” Drake continues. “We spoke for a while about maybe doing a music video for EVILE and I’m so glad we did, as we’re so happy with the result. We chose the title track as the first single as we wanted the first track you hear from us in so long to be a straight-to-the-point smack in the face and this definitely delivers. On their forthcoming album, the newly staffed four-piece strikes again on nine explosive tracks, leaving nothing but a hammering world of sound taken apart by thrash. Endangering guitar lines, which quickly build up to a furious thrash manifesto and attack the eardrum at breakneck speed, meet the merciless velocity EVILE are known and loved for.

Hell Unleashed was produced by Chris Clancy at Backstage Studios, UK, and will not only feature some explosive guest backing vocals from American actor, musician and comedian Brian Posehn, who highlights the band’s irrepressible, speeding energy on the track “Gore”, but the album will also include a cover song:

“This is the first album EVILE have done to include a cover song in the tracklisting.“ Drake says. “I’ve been a big fan of death metal for a long time, and seeing as this album is on the more extreme side of Thrash vocally and musically, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to cover Mortician‘s ‘Zombie Apocalypse’. It has one of the greatest riffs in it!

We’re also very excited about the return of the legendary Michael Whelan (Sepultura, Obituary, Stephen King) as cover artist. He did the art for our second album and he’s always a pleasure to work with.”

CONJURER Sign Worldwide Deal With Nuclear Blast, Sophomore Full-Length To Be Released This Year

Sludgy UK post-metal heavyweights CONJURER have signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Their still untitled second full-length and follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2018 debut album, Mire, is set to be released later this year.

CONJURER‘s Brady Deeprose (guitar & vocals) comments: “Conjurer are extremely excited to partner with Nuclear Blast worldwide for the forthcoming release of our second album. Having spent the last year or so getting to know Monte Conner, we count ourselves lucky to be working with not only a true legend in the world of heavy music, but one who continues to champion exciting, forward-thinking art. CONJURER’s debut full-length Mire (2018) was released to a storm of attention from across the metal world, garnering significant acclaim from Metal Hammer UK, Kerrang!, BBC R1, Visions Mag (DE), Metal Obs (FR), MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Loudwire and many more. Recipients of award nominations (Kerrang!, Heavy Music Awards, Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods) and countless albums of the year lists, Mire is a stunning listen, capturing the attitude of a young band who already know exactly who they are.

ALBERTO SONZOGNI Releases ‘Scary World’ From Debut Album

ALBERTO SONZOGNI‘s debut album ‘September Man’ will be released on February 12th. The Italian musician has brought all his musical influences into this record and by blending different style of music, from AOR to country, he has given to every song its own character and nuances.

The second single taken from the album, entitled ‘Scary World’, is an example of Sonzogni’s variegated composition skills. This track has a strong prog and melodic hard rock vibe, the powerful sound matches the lyrics about this scary world we are living today, where things are getting worse mostly because of human behaviors.

The eight minutes of the song are supported by the energetic performance of the musicians, the hammond organ played by Sonzogni and the electric guitars recorded by Daniele Finazzi and Dale Sanders, special guest for lead guitar parts, stand out with their sharp riffs and solos. Another guest is singer Alessandro Stucchi that alternates with Alberto as lead vocal.

Alberto Sonzogni about ‘Scary World’: ” This song is an analysis of the outside world, with his constant and more frequent tragic events experienced by humanity (natural disasters, wars, poverty and pandemics). The singer expresses his fragility: he don’t want to ignore the situation, but he’s feeling overwhelmed by it. Despite this, he knows there’s a tiny spark of hope in people with his same sensitivity, who cares about the future of this world”.
