Italian electro rockers WOLF THEORY (aka WLFTHRY) are set to release their self-titled album “WLFTHRY” on February 2nd, via Volcano Records.
WLFTHRY, where Exilia and Mellowtoy meet each other. This is how the band began to write the album. After one year in studio oZZo, electro producer e metal guitar player, joined the project as producer at first, then as real member of the band. Since the first new arrangements the band realized Electro was the new direction always with the sight at the past but far from Metal sound.
Dutch psychedelic kingpins DeWolff will release their new album ‘Wolffpack’ on February 5th 2021, via Mascot Label Group.
Today the band has unleashed the lyric video for ‘Half of Your Love’, watch here:
DeWolff on Half of Your Love:
“You might not have guessed it, but 70’s disco music is our guilty pleasure. Songs like Da Ya Think I’m Sexy or anyABBA song never fail to fill us with an unstoppable urge to move along to the groove. The main melody for HALF OFYOUR LOVE was actually meant for another song (Homegrown) but we decided it was too beautiful to be tuckedaway somewhere in a blues song. It needed a bigger spotlight -and a disco ball of course. “Keep the best for yourself,I only need less than half of your love”… This might just become your guilty pleasure too!”
The kaleidoscopic warriors were not long into their 2019 Tascam Tapes European Tour when the Covid19 pandemic broke and they, like so many others, had to turn back and head home. But, not before they played one more show on 17th March in Maastricht, in front of their crew. They were never going to go home easily.
“We were very disappointed at first,” says Pablo van de Poel, singer and guitarist. “Because Tascam Tapes got so much attention and then – when we finally would be able to reap the rewards- the whole thing got cancelled. We felt like we just had something good going, you know. So, when it all collapses before your eyes, that’s a bummer.”
In their studio bunker in the Medieval town of Utrecht, The Netherlands, during the global lockdown, brothers Pablo and Luka van de Poel and Robin Piso have created another majestic record. Experimenting with hazy soundscapes, fizzing riffs, marauding organs, infectiously free-roaming melodies, and all tied in with an undeniably DeWolff sound. Liberators of the funky groove, they’re riding the highways swerving in an out of 70s soul-funk, fuzzed-up psychedelia, swamp-rock and haunting melancholia, with their shades on, convertible top-down and radio on, their sights are set on the horizon.
Friday Feb 5th is album release day and the band will play a live stream concert in celebration of that in Tivoli, Vredenburg. Go check them out! It will be a DeWolff show like no other with a brass section, other sit-ins from guest musicians, all shot with vintage camera’s.
Oh, and it’s free!
Links to the live stream are below, show starts Friday FEB 5th at 8:30 PM CET/9:30 EET.
With just three weeks to go until the release of his first solo record in five years, RICKY WARWICK has released the title track to ‘When Life Was Hard And Fast’ featuring none other than Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott on backing vocals. The accompanying video, which will be premiering tonight at 7pm GMT, depicts the County Down Ards TT Motor Race that is seen on the album’s cover and ran from 1928-1936. The cover shows an accident from one of the races that happened directly in front of a field that was part of a farm owned by Ricky’s grandfather, where Ricky himself lived for the first 14 years of his life.
For the process of recording the album, Ricky was joined by Robert Crane (Bass), Xavier Muriel (Drums) and Keith Nelson (Guitar) as well as a number of special guests including Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Andy Taylor formerly of Duran Duran, Thunder’s Luke Morley, Dizzy Reed of the mighty Guns ‘N Roses and even Ricky’s daughter Pepper. Keith also produced the new album, having previously worked with Buckcherry, Blackberry Smoke and Alice Cooper. Keith noted that “Ricky is a true Rock-n-Roll soul… he’s got incredible stories to tell and a unique way of telling them. It’s been an honor to be asked to partner and contribute to this record.”

Today, Michael Schenker releases his new MSG album, “Immortal” via Nuclear Blast. The album title is a perfect statement describing Michael Schenker’s legacy and to celebrate his 50th anniversary as a musician. To commemorate the occasion, MSG have released a new music video for their single ‘In Search Of The Peace Of Mind’.
“‘In Search Of The Peace Of Mind’ had to be my 50th anniversary celebration song. It means so much to me, because it was my very first musical composition I wrote at the age of 15. And it was also the first song I had ever put on a record, also at the age of 15.
In addition, this song from the original „Lonesome Crow“ Scorpion’s album, the very first album the Scorpions had ever recorded, has a solo on it that that was so perfect I would never change a note in 1000 years. I have no idea where it came from, alongside the other solos on “Lonesome Crow”, where you can hear that I am an amateur, young and developing as a kid. But this lead break came from somewhere else. I have no idea how it happened.
I wanted to re-record this song for „Immortal“, making it an epic and put an additional long solo on the end of the song, which turned out so amazing. The sound describes my 50-year journey expressed on lead guitar. Again it ended up so amazing, like an inner conversation throughout my life – questions and answers; making choices expressed on lead guitar. With Gary Barden, Ronnie Romero, Robin McAuley and Doogie White making a contribution to my 50th anniversary, it turned out complete. Not to forget the amazing contribution of Simon Phillips on drums, Barry Sparks on bass, as well as Steve Mann on keyboards. Fantastic.
This is the 4th single for “Immortal” – 50th anniversary of Michael Schenker Have fun, Michael Schenker“

Today sees the release of SOULS OF DIOTIMA‘s 4th studio album “Janas”! The Italian female fronted metal band is proud to celebrate its release day with a magnificent music video for the song ‘The Dark Lady’.
Commenting on the new single the founder member, lyricist and drummer Giorgio Pinna says: “Perhaps this is the most catchy and ‘commercial’ track on the album. It’s a very simple and catchy song, and we think it’s excellent. It’s powerful and you will easily fix the lyrics in your mind. The story is about a very controversial character from our land, who actually existed around 50 years ago. Her name is ‘Accabadora’. She was a fairly old woman, dressed entirely in black with her face almost completely covered, so often only her eyes could be seen. Her mission was to alleviate the suffering of those on the verge of death, putting an end to their life using a wooden stick which she was always taking with her. This woman was called by the family of the sick person to put an end to their suffering”.
“Janas” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Oscar Nilsson at Crehate Studios in Mölndal (Sweden).
The album “Janas” is a concept, the second chapter of a journey that began with the previous album, “The Sorceress Reveals – Atlantis”. “Janas” tells the stories and legends of band’s land, Sardinia. Their island is full of wonderful mythological tales and characters, of esoteric stories that are often macabre, but which portray a truly fascinating historical and cultural journey.
“We have a shared interest in the history and culture of the peoples of the sea, of the Mediterranean, and we are one of them. Much of Western history is rooted in the tales of the peoples of the sea, skilled conquerors who crossed the seas to conquer new lands or to defend their own. But there is more. Within Sardinia there are places that often remain undiscovered. Far from the more accessible touristic locations, these places are steeped in stories both true and fictitious, which we were often told during our childhood, and which probably formed the basis of our personality and the way we see the world. In brief, ‘Janas’ talks about these stories, about us, and about the Earth we have been walking on since we were born”, enthuses Pinna.
“Janas” track list: 1. The Black Mask 2. Sleep Demon 3. The Princess of Navarra 4. Janas 5. The Dark Lady 6. Ichnos Superhero 7. My Roots 8. Maty 9. Mediterranean Lane 10. Sherden
SOULS OF DIOTIMA is a band with a unique style, featuring recognizable elements of traditional, progressive and symphonic metal, as well as unconventional elements, woven together musically in a powerfully expressive new way. Their style recalls Mediterranean atmospheres and traditions, and you can call it “Mediterranean Metal”.
After several years of silence, DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL returned last December with a late 2020s music sensation: The UK based Ambient Post hardcore outfit announced their new album “Loss”, out on April 9th – their first release under the wings of Nuclear Blast Records.
But the band has more up their sleeve and DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL revealed the next piece of the colourful mosaic named “Loss”. Watch the video for “The Narcissist” here:
Singer Paul Green states: ‘The Narcissist’ is our heaviest track on the new record. It was written about the negative and disruptive people we have in our lives from time to time. It’s a middle finger to their unapologetic attitude and their inability to grasp reason or logic. It seems the world has spawned a lot of these types of people lately and this one’s for them. We started capturing elements for this track 3 years ago during our shows in Japan. Jonny our guitarist/producer, recorded the dissonant warning bells from the train station in Tateishi where we were staying. It’s a really cool memory from our time out there and to have it on the track just adds something special for us, it takes us back to that time and place every listen. We worked with the super talented Olli Appleyard on the music video for this track. Oli has an incredible imagination and some techniques and style that are completely unique to him, which we love. The main focus was to make the video aggressive, schizophrenic and imposing. ‘Loss’ is a diverse record with many facets, each of the singles we’ve chosen showcases another side of the album’s sound. We hope those who are craving something on the heavier side find satisfaction in this track, there’s something for everyone on this record and we’re excited for you all to hear it on April 9th.”
The tracklist of “Loss” reads as follows: 1. Ardour 2. Witness Marks 3. Burdened 4. Tateishi 5. The Narcissist 6. Beyond Reach 7. Signal Fire 8. Acrinomy 9. But Not Forgotten 10. Loss
DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL begin a new chapter in their highly-acclaimed career, signing to metal heavyweights Nuclear Blast Records. 2021 will see the band release their fourth studio album ‘Loss’, their first with the dual vocal attack of Ed Gibbs and Paul Green. DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL burst onto the UK underground metal and hardcore scene in 2004 growing a cult following from their first record, ‘Darkness Prevails’ EP released through Visible Noise (BRING ME THE HORIZON) in 2005. Their debut album, ‘A Fragile Hope’ saw the band take their position as one of the most respected underground bands in the UK with their visceral and captivating live shows. DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL’s sophomore album, ‘Blessed and Cursed’, elevated their sound and audience to new heights, voted into RockSound Magazine’s top 10 albums of 2010. With Ed Gibbs departing the band early in the year, 2013 saw the first new material featuring singer Paul Green with single ‘Time’, followed by 2014’s ‘Belong Betray’ EP and 2016’s ‘The Reckoning’. After welcoming Gibbs back to sing on the 2017 ‘A Fragile Hope’ anniversary tour, the band asked Gibbs to continue the dual vocals with Green for the remaining festivals and tours that year, with the line-up then becoming a permanent fixture. 2018 saw the band travel beyond Europe with their first touring in Asia, they also began to put the foundations down on what would become their new record ‘Loss’. Written about the struggles faced in recent years, ‘Loss’treads familiar ground and explores exciting new territories for DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL, including for the first time the dual vocals of Gibbs and Green on record. Recorded, engineered and mixed by guitarist Jonny Renshaw at his UK based Bandit Studios, DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL have poured heart and sincerity into every atom of this their fourth album, with song writing elevated to new levels.
