Sicky returns with “Slide”, a haunting pop-rock journey through restless nights and the struggle to find peace. With its hypnotic refrain and stark, raw imagery, the track captures the push and pull of battling inner storms while searching for a place to belong. Vulnerable, urgent, and emotionally gripping, Slide” is both a personal confession and a search for quiet in chaos.
“Slide” is a track taken from the album “Troubled Delight”, out via Epictronic.
Troubled Delight came together organically in late 2023, each song flowing naturally. Raw and playful, it uses found sounds—from church bells to shopping doors—and features highlights like Jen Bone’s double bass, Rebecca Butler’s vocals on Mankind, and Lily (10) and Scarlet (8) adding punk energy. Written and produced at home by SICKY, mastered by Charlie Francis, the album is scrappy, joyful, and under three minutes per track.

With the release of their triumphant new album, Field Of Swords, closing in, BLOODBOUND has released its opening title track as their powerful third single. “Field Of Swords” immediately storms into BLOODBOUND’s signature sound, braiding stories of glory with a sweeping blend of melodic and heavy power metal—a perfect introduction to the band’s venture into the Middle Ages. The Swedish six-piece hold their own on the forefront of epic modern power metal, standing amidst flames burning tall with this new glorious single.
Recently teaming up with Napalm Records, BLOODBOUND stand taller than ever on epic power metal’s front lines, delivering their most refined work yet. Moving on from the Viking era, the inspiration for their previous record, Tales Of The North, Field Of Swords turns the page to another chapter in history, moving past the year 1066 and into the Middle Ages. As warfare evolves and the technological advancement of forging iron with carbon leads to superior swordsmen, the bloodstained battlefields show new, grim faces, which BLOODBOUND bring to life with their vivid storytelling, notorious for thrilling live audiences globally. The album will be out this Friday, November 21, 2025 via Napalm Records.
Fredrik Berghabout “Field Of Swords”: “The opening track and also the title track of the album. A great, fast, energetic song with killer melodies. A perfect way to start the BLOODBOUND studio album #11!”
Tomas Olsson about “Field Of Swords”: “‘Field of Swords’ is about the evolution in warfare and the significance of forging iron with carbon that led to superior swordsmen.”
BLOODBOUND’s latest triumphant march impressively illustrates the importance of purpose and perseverance with heroic tales in shining heavy metal armor. Valiant, vigorous, and ultimately victorious: Field Of Swords has come to expand BLOODBOUND’s domination of the scene!
Fredrik Bergh on Field Of Swords: “Field Of Swords is a concept album, a continuation from our last album Tales From The North (2023) which touched upon the subject of the Viking era. On Field Of Swords, we have moved on in history and entered the Middle Ages (after 1066). The concept, in short, is the following: When the Viking Age ended in the year of our Lord 1066, came the long and grim Medieval times. We are extremely excited about the new album and to release it with the backing of the mighty Napalm Records. Music-wise, the new album has a slightly more modern sound, but we can guarantee it includes all the elements BLOODBOUND is known for! It’s a diverse record with aggressive songs, epic tracks, and it also contains some of the fastest parts we have written. And on the other hand, we have some slower, majestic songs as well, like, ‘The Nine Crusades’ where UNLEASH THE ARCHERS’ Brittney Slayes duets with Patrik. Field Of Swords has everything you can ask for!”
BLOODBOUND’s first release with Napalm Records adds another 11 captivating battle hymns to their repertoire. A diverse record with aggressive songs and epic tracks alike, their eleventh album also contains some of the band’s fastest material ever written. The opening title track, “Field Of Swords”, immediately storms into BLOODBOUND’s signature sound, braiding stories of glory with a sweeping blend of melodic and heavy power metal. The dominant “As Empires Fall” follows the crusaders east and powerfully depicts said glory in epic battle in contrast with sacrifices made on the way. “Defenders Of Jerusalem” cleverly expands on the topic of loss, leaving listeners to wonder which side is holding their heads up high in the face of imminent defeat. Catchy flutes have the heroes take heart in “The Code Of Warriors” to guide them into the “Land Of The Brave” and Field Of Swords to new heights at the same time. “Light In The Sky” further illustrates BLOODBOUND’s battle scars turned electrifying sound, while the mature “Teutonic Knights” opens up the bleak reality of the tragedy that undoubtedly accompanies this battle-torn era of history. Yet, “Forged In Iron”, “Pain and Glory”, and “Born to be King” hold their ground as equally unforgettable tunes, all leading up to the brilliant finale: Brittney Slayes of powerhouse Canadian band UNLEASH THE ARCHERS joins “The Nine Crusades” as another valuable fighter to lead Field Of Swords to greatness.

The revitalized new incarnation of top-charting metalcore pioneers AS I LAY DYING has burst back onto the scene, led by iconic founding frontman Tim Lambesis. Following the October premiere of their furious comeback single, “Echoes”, which introduced the band’s powerhouse new lineup – Chris Clancy (bass, clean vocals), Bill Hudson (guitar), Don Vedda (guitar) and Tim Yeung (drums) – the band has now dropped a second strike: the triumphant, ferocious “If I Fall”. The melodic epic tears forward with breakneck speed, fiery guitar leads and earnest, introspective lyricism by Lambesis – the essence of what AS I LAY DYING fans have championed for more than two decades.
The bludgeoning new track arrives alongside a dark, performance-driven official music video, premiering on YouTube at 12:00pm EST/6:00pm CET today.
Frontman Tim Lambesis offers about “If I Fall”: “I wrote the first version of ‘If I Fall’ before the new lineup even came together, and I knew the song had real potential. As each musician joined the process, that potential only grew — everyone brought something that elevated what I’d already started. Musically it hints at what’s possible with this refreshed energy, and lyrically it reflects the kind of people I want around me for this next and best chapter.”
“Rise, the chainless! For they whose sight was not relinquished Rise, the insurgents! Contrary to the spirit of the age For we dare to see the stars as our ancestors did.” (‘Renunciation‘)
On December 19th, LYCHGATE will unveil their meticulously crafted fourth album, “Precipice“. In anticipation, the UK avant–Black/Death Metal ensemble now presents a second preview track, ‘Renunciation.’ Steeped in oppressive grandeur and apocalyptic fervour, the piece evokes a profound spiritual unease and piercing, cerebral intensity.
Interweaving literary, philosophical, and cinematic influences, “Precipice” is conceptually based on E. M. Forster‘s “The Machine Stops” (1909) – a story of humanity’s underground existence and total dependence on a god-like machine – and also draws from Plato‘s ‘allegory of the cave’, H. G. Wells‘ “A Story of the Days to Come“, and T. S. Eliot‘s “The Waste Land.”
Main composer Vortigern reflects on the lyrical conception of ‘Renunciation‘ and its significance to the album’s overarching thematics:
“‘Renunciation‘ refers to the longing of the novella’s main character, Kuno, to escape the underground prison of hexagonal cells, his musings on the open landscapes as they were in times before, and his awareness that such landscapes now consist of exiles, who have been expelled from the machine. ‘Renunciation‘ precedes the track ‘The Meeting of Orion and Scorpio‘ in the album’s track-listing, in which he does escape, but is captured by a giant worm, which pulls him down below again. The succeeding track is therefore a direct link to the cover art, in which a snake is depicted, illustrating essentially the same meaning.“

“Precipice” will be released on CD, vinyl – including an exclusive DMP variant – and digital on December 19th. A special t-shirt design will accompany the launch. Pre-orders are possible via DMP’s EU, US and Bandcamp shops.
LYCHGATE was formed in 2011 by Vortigern (guitars) with the collaboration of Greg Chandler (vocals and guitars), Aran (Bass) and T. J. F. Vallely (drums). In 2012, the self-titled debut was recorded and then released in the first quarter of 2013 through Mordgrimm and Gilead Media. The material on this album was partly inspired by demo material from a pre-LYCHGATE project known as ARCHAICUS; demos that would later be released through Cult Never Dies and entitled, “The Early Years – ‘Beneath the Horizon’ and Other Demos, 2002-06“.
Between January 2012 and December 2013, Vortigern wrote material for the second album entitled “An Antidote for the Glass Pill“, which was thematically inspired by Bentham‘s concept of the Panopticon. It was recorded almost entirely at Priory Studios intermittently in the second half of 2014. It was then released through the Finnish label Blood Music in August 2015. The album was a significant step in the development of LYCHGATE‘s sound, with the utilisation of organ as a compositional backbone to all tracks, along with influences from late 19th century/early 20th century art music, Rock in Opposition, musique concréte and 1940s-70s cinema. Besides the core line-up and addition of Alan Webb on bass, the band invited Kevin Bowyer to perform all organ parts.
The press received “An Antidote” highly, with praise given to its uniqueness and forward-thinking approach. It has been featured in lists for the top metal albums of the 2010s, from Angry Metal Guy and Invisible Oranges. Shortly after the release date, a European tour was conducted with NIGHTBRINGER in November 2015. The following year, the band performed the entire album with real organ at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
In August 2017, LYCHGATE entered Orgone Studios with producer Jaime Gomez (ULVER, PARADISE LOST, ORANSSI PAZUZU) to record the third album for Blood Music, entitled “The Contagion In Nine Steps“, in which the band adopted generally slower tempos, and psychedelic atmospheres. The album was inspired by the Stanisław Lem novel “The Invincible (Niezwyciężony)” and variations on the theme of group-think and crowd psychology.
During August/September 2019, an EP entitled “Also sprach Futura” was recorded at Priory Studios, inspired by the film “Metropolis” (1925/1927), and Lem‘s “Golem XIV” (1981). The work was quicker paced, and more similar to “An Antidote” than its predecessor. It was released on Debemur Morti Productions in March 2020. A subsequent European tour with WHITE WARD was regrettably cancelled due to the global pandemic at the time.
In 2025, LYCHGATE entered Priory Studios to record “Precipice“. It is due to be released in the winter of 2025 through Debemur Morti Productions.

SHANE LENTZ presents the stunning visualizer for the track “LIMINAL”, a track taken from APHOTIC | LIMINAL | NIHIL EP, out via Wormholedeath.
For the visualizer, Shane captured footage while traveling through the landscapes of Norway—vast, remote, and hauntingly beautiful. The stark scenery becomes a mirror to the music: heavy, textured, and emotionally unrelenting. The screams, the layers, the intensity—they all seem to echo through Norway’s endless mountains and valleys, flowing across the surface of the sea.
The track “LIMINAL” is part of a larger vision: APHOTIC | LIMINAL | NIHIL, a deeply personal and atmospheric release where Shane performs everything himself. From drums to guitar, from composition to final mix, this is his sonic world, built piece by piece.
Based in Philadelphia, Shane Lentz is a bassist-turned-multi-instrumentalist known for combining technical precision with dark, atmospheric depth. His solo catalog includes The Hollowing Abyss (2024), The Solitude of Discovery (2021), and Reverse Horizons (2014).
He’s played bass for Kamikabe, Ys, and Cabaret Runaway, and appeared as a session musician on Jeff Loomis’ Plains of Oblivion, which charted across five U.S. Billboard categories.
With APHOTIC | LIMINAL | NIHIL, Shane takes full creative control, delivering a heavy, immersive experience from start to finish.
