Poisonous Dark Metallers CRADLE OF FILTH reveal the title of their forthcoming 13th studio album as being “Existence Is Futile”. Their monumental new opus -the 13th (unlucky for all) studio album of the band to date – was once again recorded at Grindstone Studios with producer Scott Atkins and is embellished with artwork from Arthur Berzinsh, who is guilty of accomplishing the last two album artworks in the Cradle back canon. Further nihilistic details from the crypt will soon see the light of day.
“The stunning new album is everything you can expect from the many shades of black that go to discolour a CRADLE OF FILTH release and far, far, worse” frontman Dani Filth stated yesterday.
“Existence Is Futile” which features a new as-yet-named keyboardist/backing singer, is due to be unleashed later this year through Nuclear Blast Records.
Earlier, the band announced that their visually spectacular livestream from the St. Mary’s Church in Colchester is postponed to May, 12th – due to the pandemic situation. You can still order your tickets for the live stream in many variations together with exclusive ticket-bundles and VIP packages here: cradleoffilth.veeps.com
About CRADLE OF FILTH: CRADLE OF FILTH‘s latest album “Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay” was recorded at Grindstone Studios, Suffolk, UK by the very honorable Scott Atkins, esq. who has been the resident go-to producer for CRADLE OF FILTH for several albums.
Since their formation in 2004, British thrash titans EVILE have been turning heads and taking names, delivering four pure thrash offerings blended with an uncompromising death metal assault! Their upcoming fifth studio album, entitled Hell Unleashed, will impact the metal masses on April 30, 2021 via Napalm Records, and is the long-awaited successor to their 2013 release, Skull. Featuring the new exciting line-up formation of the talented Ol Drake on vocals/guitars and new member Adam Smith of RipTide as rhythm guitarist, Hell Unleashed is a raucous and masterful thrash metal attack!
“After a long eight years, EVILE is finally coming back with our fifth studio album, ‘Hell Unleashed‘ in April; a nine-track onslaught of unrelenting Thrash Metal. I have no qualms in saying that this is the best Thrash Metal album in at least the last 20 years.” Ol Drake comments. “Those who haven’t been keeping up with EVILE may notice a change in vocals and vocalist. Matt left the band last year for health and personal reasons, and we decided it would be best to keep the new vocalist a familiar face within the band, so I stepped into the vocalist shoes, while remaining on lead guitar and I’m very happy and excited to do it – one of my heroes is Chuck Schuldiner, so it made sense to me; EVILE needs to sound evil and vile, and we’ve achieved that more this time with a much more aggressive approach on ‘Hell Unleashed.'”
In celebration of their return and the announcement of Hell Unleashed, the band has just revealed a blistering music video for the album’s title track! With double the amount of power, twice the speed, untamed brute and blazing riffs, “Hell Unleashed” will propel old and new fans to the status of eternal mayhem and thrash euphoria. Watch EVILE’s brand new clip right here:
“The title track ‘Hell Unleashed‘ is the first single/video we’re releasing, directed by James Mansell, who I previously worked with on some short films of his.” Drake continues. “We spoke for a while about maybe doing a music video for EVILE and I’m so glad we did, as we’re so happy with the result. We chose the title track as the first single as we wanted the first track you hear from us in so long to be a straight-to-the-point smack in the face and this definitely delivers. (**WARNING: The video contains flashing**)”
On their forthcoming album, the newly staffed four-piece strikes again on nine explosive tracks, leaving nothing but a hammering world of sound taken apart by thrash. Endangering guitar lines, which quickly build up to a furious thrash manifesto and attack the eardrum at breakneck speed, meet the merciless velocity EVILE are known and loved for.
Hell Unleashed was produced by Chris Clancy at Backstage Studios, UK, and will not only feature some explosive guest backing vocals from American actor, musician and comedian Brian Posehn, who highlights the band’s irrepressible, speeding energy on the track “Gore”, but the album will also include a cover song:
“This is the first album EVILE have done to include a cover song in the tracklisting.“ Drake says. “I’ve been a big fan of death metal for a long time, and seeing as this album is on the more extreme side of Thrash vocally and musically, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to cover Mortician‘s ‘Zombie Apocalypse’. It has one of the greatest riffs in it!
We’re also very excited about the return of the legendary Michael Whelan (Sepultura, Obituary, Stephen King) as cover artist. He did the art for our second album and he’s always a pleasure to work with.”
Tracklist:1. Paralysed 2. Gore ( feat. Brian Posehn ) 3. Incarcerated 4. War of Attrition 5. Disorder 6. The Thing (1982) 7. Zombie Apocalypse 8. Control from Above 9. Hell Unleashed
Hell Unleashed will be available in LP Gatefold, CD Jewel Case and Digital formats. The limited 1LP Gatefold Deluxe Edition will also include an exclusive Artprint and band logo patch! The pre-sale has just started at THIS LOCATION!
In just 41 minutes, Hell Unleashed unchains the unbridled forces of hell, catches some rousing demons of the past and provides classical thrash metal with a contemporary yet hard-edged touch. EVILE are back – straight from the abyss!
Sludgy UK post-metal heavyweights CONJURER have signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Their still untitled second full-length and follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2018 debut album, Mire, is set to be released later this year.
CONJURER‘s Brady Deeprose (guitar & vocals) comments: “Conjurer are extremely excited to partner with Nuclear Blast worldwide for the forthcoming release of our second album. Having spent the last year or so getting to know Monte Conner, we count ourselves lucky to be working with not only a true legend in the world of heavy music, but one who continues to champion exciting, forward-thinking art. We’ve now also been introduced to Barley and the rest of the international team at NB and it’s evident that they understand our mentality and want nothing more than to support and nourish our creativity. In what has been an awful year on so many levels, we are grateful to have found the right home for our music. We look forward to working together with NB to bring you our sophomore album in 2021, and much more in the years to follow.”
Nuclear Blast‘s A&R legend Monte Conner states:“I am thrilled to welcome the mighty Conjurer to the worldwide NB family. I must stress “worldwide” because I originally signed them just for North America, but due to a change in circumstances I got to sign them again, and this time for the WORLD! So, I guess you could say I liked these guys so much that I signed them TWICE! When COVID finally lifts, be sure and see them live as they will absolutely blow you away.”
European A&R at Nuclear Blast, Nathan Barley Phillips, adds:“My first experience of Conjurer playing live was during a cold and miserable night in Milton Keynes in 2016 – I didn’t think there was a band capable of radioactively reheating my bones whilst also matching the utter bleakness of the weather outside. Conjurer achieved it in droves, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Absolutely stoked to serve as European A&R for the band during the next chapter of their career.”
The future of British metal lies in safe hands with CONJURER, who continue their journey as the country’s most exciting young metal band with their signing to Nuclear Blast worldwide.
CONJURER’s debut full-length Mire(2018) was released to a storm of attention from across the metal world, garnering significant acclaim from Metal Hammer UK, Kerrang!, BBC R1, Visions Mag (DE), Metal Obs (FR), MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Loudwire and many more. Recipients of award nominations (Kerrang!, Heavy Music Awards, Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods) and countless albums of the year lists, Mire is a stunning listen, capturing the attitude of a young band who already know exactly who they are.
Hailed as one of the metal world’s most devastating, thrilling experiences, CONJURER are a band never content to rest. Following Mire’s release in 2018 the quartet soon toured Europe for the first time, appeared at multiple UK festivals, and support of doom titans CONAN and WILL HAVEN.
In the following years the band have toured the US twice, supporting RIVERS OF NIHIL (stopping to record an Audiotree session along the way), and then VOIVOD, with REVOCATION. 2019 also saw CONJURER’s debut Download Festival appearance, thrilling a packed-out Dogtooth stage, and the release of the joyous collaborative project with PIJN, titled Curse These Metal Hands. Later in the year a split EP with PALM READER was released, containing two cover songs by each band.
It was only at the end of 2019 that CONJURER closed out their triumphant Mire cycle, with a sold-out UK run – their debut headline tour. Despite Covid-19 preventing live appearances for the majority of 2020 the band have unsurprisingly been busy, writing and recording their highly-anticipated second LP.
ALBERTO SONZOGNI‘s debut album ‘September Man’ will be released on February 12th. The Italian musician has brought all his musical influences into this record and by blending different style of music, from AOR to country, he has given to every song its own character and nuances.
The second single taken from the album, entitled ‘Scary World’, is an example of Sonzogni’s variegated composition skills. This track has a strong prog and melodic hard rock vibe, the powerful sound matches the lyrics about this scary world we are living today, where things are getting worse mostly because of human behaviors.
The eight minutes of the song are supported by the energetic performance of the musicians, the hammond organ played by Sonzogni and the electric guitars recorded by Daniele Finazzi and Dale Sanders, special guest for lead guitar parts, stand out with their sharp riffs and solos. Another guest is singer Alessandro Stucchi that alternates with Alberto as lead vocal.
Alberto Sonzogni about ‘Scary World’: ” This song is an analysis of the outside world, with his constant and more frequent tragic events experienced by humanity (natural disasters, wars, poverty and pandemics). The singer expresses his fragility: he don’t want to ignore the situation, but he’s feeling overwhelmed by it.Despite this, he knows there’s a tiny spark of hope in people with his same sensitivity, who cares about the future of this world”.
Melodic doom heavyweights RED MOON ARCHITECT have shared a brand new, haunting live performance video for the track “Journey”. As much as the band from Kouvola, Finland, would rather love to be on tour but since shows are currently put on hold for obvious reasons, RED MOON ARCHITECT are now inviting their fans on a trip into their very own world full of deep emotions and atmosphere. Watch the offcial, new live video clip for “Journey”, a heavy yet beautiful melancholic doom anthem, here:
Saku Moilanen comments: “Journey is one of my all time favourites that has only been played live for a few times. We’re happy to share this clip from our special stream gig and hope we can play this live for you all soon!“
RED MOON ARCHITECT‘s latest, critically acclaimed album, “Emptiness Weighs The Most”, was released on October 23rd 2020 through German powerhouse label Noble Demon. Pure sweeping, yet crushing and highly atmospheric soundscapes consolidate with strong melodies, dark growls and beautiful female vocals, crawling directly under your skin! 2020 was a big year for burgeoning Canadian punk-tinged rockers KING BULL. They released 3 cracking singles in Pay Attention, The Depender and B-Side Baby, they then dropped their long-awaited new EP What Happened Here? in October via Riot Records.
King Bull encompasses 70’s rock and punk with an angsty vibe and some earthy streetwise riffs and powered by a punk-tinged, rock-ignited fuel. Fired up by intricate licks, buzz-cutter guitar tones and uniquely edgy vocals, they cover what is great about rock music.
Now they have released the official video clip for B-Side Baby. B-Side Baby backs up King Bull’s reputation of impressive musicianship and ingenious riff-writing capabilities in a fresh rock hit.
B-Side Baby is a superb track that dives from garage fused punky rock to an incredible Guns N’ Roses styled crescendo. This could be the track that defines King Bull, it is ready made for arenas.
King Bull’s EP What Happened Here? is not a concept record, it was not constructed to achieve some sort of grand vision, nor does it strive to unravel the meaning of life. Instead the record does away with all nonsense and pretentiousness, leaving just five stripped down bangers loaded with real life integrity and grit.
The EP is sonically cohesive throughout, featuring snarling guitars, growling bass, thunderous drums and vocals that sound similar to a jet engine that isn’t working properly. Most of the equipment used during the recording process pre-dates the 1980’s and includes a guitar that’s been snapped in half several times and a bass that’s quite literally survived a house fire.
A closer inspection of the songs reveal direct lyrics backed with enough wit to remind you that there’s still some room for poetry within rock and roll. Before the label “punk rock” existed, there were a bunch of bands that operated with less precision and carried more angst than typical rock and roll bands; bands like the Ramones, MC5, early AC/DC, the Clash, the Who etc. What Happened Here? is right at home when stacked beside music like that.
