After forming in 1995, DOZER emerged in 1998 with their debut 7″ which was awarded “Single of the week” in Kerrang! magazine. Dozer quickly progressed beyond their early influences and created a style of their own incorporating modern elements into their classic heavy rock sound. A sound that always has been intensely heavy but yet also strongly song and melody driven by the distinctive vocals of singer Fredrik Nordin.

DOZER has carefully cultivated a following like none other and a reputation second to none due mostly assuredly to their constant touring and explosive live shows. The band scattered releases on labels like Meteor City, Man’s Ruin, & their own Molten Universe before finding a home at Small Stone. With albums like “Madre De Dios” and “Through the Eyes of Heathens” they have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the world of stoner rock, often placed upon the same pedestal as the fathers of the movement – Kyuss and Monster Magnet. With the release of their 5th full length album “Beyond Colossal” in 2008, the sons of Sweden seemed poised to teach the Underground a lesson or two about what Rock and Roll is all about. After a hiatus the band returned to the scene with some live shows over the last years, and ultimately, they signed a deal with cult and fuzz rock label Heavy Psych Sounds, who reissued the band’s first three albums “In The Tail Of A Comet”, “Madre De Dios” and “Call It Conspiracy” in March 2020. One can only hope, this is just the beginning of a new DOZER era…

Guitar Legend TOMMY BOLIN Celebrated With New Collection Of Lost Tracks

This year will mark the 55th anniversary of the passing of TOMMY BOLIN, the supremely talented guitarist and songwriter, best known for his work with Deep Purple and The James Gang, who captivated the world with his sophisticated and ferocious playing. Bolin’s tragic death, he was a mere 25 years old, has been one of rock music’s great “what ifs” forcing critics and fans to grapple with what Bolin might have been able to accomplish in subsequent years were he still alive, given that he managed to produce such amazing works of mature artistry at such a young age. Many point to Bolin’s most fully realized, and sadly final, album, the magnificent Private Eyes, as proof that for all of Bolin’s success, the man was just getting warmed up!

Now a new collection of never before released outtakes and demos from those recording sessions will be released showing the many sides of Bolin’s talent. The collection is called Shake The Devil – The Lost Sessions and will be released on February 12 courtesy of Cleopatra Records. Licensed directly from Bolin’s estate and with informative liner notes from rock journalist Dave Thompson, these recordings offer both acoustic, instrumental and alternate versions of some of Bolin’s best known tunes including his most popular song, “Bustin’ Out For Rosey.” That track is today offered as a special sneak preview of the album, which will be available on both CD as well as a gorgeous gatefold vinyl with your choice of white, purple or red vinyl!

CATTLE DECAPITATION Launch Video For “Finish Them”

CATTLE DECAPITATION released their latest record, Death Atlas, to critical acclaim in 2019; today, the band has launched a new video for the album track, “Finish Them”. Directed by Nicholas Vidler, the video features live footage from Cattle Decapitation‘s sold-out shows in Melbourne, Australia in early 2020. Watch “Finish Them” now here:

Vocalist Travis Ryan comments: “When traveling to Australia to embark on our Australia/New Zealand/Japan tour in early 2020, we wondered what would await us on their soil as bushfires were raging, claiming the lives of millions of wild animals, altering the lives of many of our fans and citizens of Australia. What we didn’t expect was record turnouts with serious rabid fans that I think just wanted to take their minds off the current state of affairs and do their best to have a good time given the utterly shit circumstances they were experiencing. We quickly organized meet and greets at the last minute and were able to raise well over $25,000AUD for the Cobargo Wildlife Sanctuary, who had pretty much lost everything in the fires. Thanks to the incredible support from our fans down under and through other folks ready to help, they were able to rebuild. We really felt like we had been given a gift by the fans, so we wanted to give back to these people who came out and raged with us by releasing our final music video for ‘Death Atlas,’ which showcases how sick the shows were and how truly amazing our fans are. Look close, maybe you’ll find yourself in the crowd! Looking forward to returning to the stage one day, hopefully soon!”

Produced once again by Dave Otero (flatlineaudio.com), Death Atlas was named one of the best records of 2019 by Decibel Magazine, Metal Sucks, Metal Injection, and many more, and it demands an emotional response. Cattle Decapitation have never shied away from confronting the awfulness wrought upon the natural world by the human race, and Death Atlas is their bleakest offering to date, featuring elements of death metal, grindcore, black metal, sludge, doom, drone – with Travis Ryan’s vocals broader and more fully realized than ever before.

KARDASHEV Sign Worldwide Deal With Metal Blade Records

Metal Blade Records is proud to welcome KARDASHEV to its worldwide roster!

A self-described “deathgaze” group, Kardashev is for fans of The Contortionist, Rivers of Nihil, Devin Townsend, Alcest – among others. Their mission statement could be described as: “Attempting to create the most beautiful, heavy music through themes of love, loss and altruism in the metal spectrum.” Much of the band’s lyrical content – found on their numerous EPs, singles, plus debut album (2015’s Peripety) – is written about science, space and the human condition.

Kardashev comments: “We couldn’t be more excited and grateful to be working with Metal Blade. They’re the industry leader and life-long dream partnership for us as we’ve always looked up to their artists for innovation, direction, and image. Now, we get to be who we looked up to when we were young.”

After releasing their latest EP, The Baring of Shadows, last year, Kardashev has been hard at work writing their sophomore album – and Metal Blade Records debut – set to be released in 2022. Stay tuned for more Kardashev news coming soon!
