SAXON proudly display their “Inspirations” with classic covers release. Pre-order Inspirations here

Legendary British Heavy Metal heroes Saxon loudly continue unveiling their Inspirations covers project with second single ‘Speed King’, Deep Purple’s classic tune from their 1970 album Deep Purple In Rock.

Said Biff Byford when explaining the importance of the song on Saxon’s early career ascendance.

“Without ‘Speed King’ there would be no ‘Motorcycle Man’. I love the attitude, energy and driving speed of this song, not to mention those screaming vocals! I’d never sung it before, and I had great fun with it!”

Watch/Listen to the recently released ‘Paint It Black’ here

‘Speed King’ is part of Saxon’s forthcoming 11-track Inspirations album, where in 2020 the band took residence at Brockfield Hall in York, UK, to record cover versions of various songs which deeply influenced the band, engaging in a proper old-school live and recording process which was a hallmark of many old-school rock ‘n’ roll records.

Inspirations was produced by Biff Byford with Jacky Lehmann engineering and will be released through Silver Lining Music on March 19th 2021.

Finnish metallers ARCHED FIRE have released their debut single, which ponders the powers of the algorithms.

“Remote-Controlled End” is the first video single of ARCHED FIRE, Finnish metal band working on their debut album to be released later this year. Musically, Arched Fire is where heavy metal meets speed metal—“hevispiidi”, as a Finnish radio dj called them a long time ago.

Watch the video here:

“We’ve only had this band for a couple of years, but there was a long break in between”, says Ari, their guitar player.

Formed in Finnish Lapland, Arched Fire played a bunch of gigs in 1989–1990, when the band members were still in school. Now, together with their new singer, the re-formed band has written and recorded an album’s worth on new songs based on the sketches and ideas from back in the day.

“We’ve made a metal record with old-school dynamics and present-day standards. When your teenage kicks meet your current musical skills, it is a lot of fun.”

“Remote-Controlled End” is the first single off their forthcoming album ‘Remote Control’. The theme of the songs is smart-phone addiction and the AI revolution, the power of algorithms over people.

Arched Fire are
Kristian Herkman—vocals
Aslak Purojärvi—drums
Mika Rytilahti—bass
Janne Särkelä—lead & rhythm guitars
Ari Väntänen—rhythm guitar

PRODUCT OF HATE Release Epic Cinematic Video for “Redemption” Filmed at Historic Kenosha Theatre Following Civil Unrest Last Fall

PRODUCT OF HATE have unleashed “Redemption,” the next single from the band’s forthcoming second full-length album YOU BROUGHT THIS WAR. A music video for the track was filmed at the historic Kenosha Theatre in Kenosha, Wisconsin just weeks after the civil unrest that rocked the band’s hometown last fall.

“Making this video was absolutely surreal,” says Geno Rathbone, lead guitarist. “To be filming and playing our music in a place with so much amazing history was mind-blowing. We shot this only a week or so after the Kenosha riots and everything was still boarded up and smoldering just a block or two away from this historic theater. Thankfully the venue was spared along with its history — and hopefully, its future. This video is our tip of the cap to our hometown.”

The Kenosha Theatre opened in 1927 under Universal Pictures. The ornate theater changed hands to Warner Bros. in the 1930s and was the subject of a 1938 pictorial in LIFE Magazine. After operating as a movie palace and venue that played host to artists including Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole, the building was last used as a theater in 1963 and has since become a favorite destination among urban explorers while a local group raises funds for eventual restoration and reimagining.

The “Redemption” video was crafted by longtime collaborators James Zahn (The Rock Father) as director and Chuck Przybyl of MOST Visual as director of photography and editor. The pair most recently worked with the band on the video for the title track to YOU BROUGHT THIS WAR (available here).

YOU BROUGHT THIS WAR will be released on February 5, 2021, on digital and CD. Pre-orders for the new album are available now on Bandcamp, Amazon, iTunes, and more. The album follows the band’s 2016 debut, BURIED IN VIOLENCE (Napalm Records).

“It’s been a long time coming and I know a lot of our fans have been asking when the new album would be out,” comments frontman Adam Gilley. “Well, the wait is almost over and we cannot express just how excited we are to release this album. We’ve invested a lot and put our all into this one with hopes that everyone will love it.”

The 12-song affair was recorded and engineered by Scott Creekmore (Broken Hope, Lionheart) at Mercenary Digital Studios, with mixing and mastering completed by Chris Collier (Korn, Prong, Repentance, Whitesnake) of CMC21 Productions.

Artist Colin Marks of Rain Song Design, with whom the band collaborated on its debut album, returns to provide cover art for YOU BROUGHT THIS WAR and its accompanying singles.

Last November, PRODUCT OF HATE released a non-album cover version of Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality” ahead of the U.S. Presidential election. The song made its radio debut on Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal on Nov. 3. A video can be seen at this location.

PRODUCT OF HATE’s acclaimed debut album, BURIED IN VIOLENCE, was released globally in 2016 via Napalm Records. The band has been releasing music via its POH Metalworks imprint since 2018.

Matkalainen (The Traveler) is a modern folk tale of Death that wanders from house to house in search of the weak and tired. At the same time, it is also a story of selfish fear of death; not from the narrator’s point of view, but from the fear that the dearest person will go first. No matter how much we achieve in life, death will eventually take everything. Matkalainen is the first single from the album Kruunu.
