DREAD SOVEREIGN Release Video For Single “She Wolves of the Savage Season”, New Album Out Now Worldwide

DREAD SOVEREIGN have released their third full-length, Alchemical Warfare – which has already received top marks from Deaf Forever Magazine (#1 soundcheck!), Rock Hard Germany (#2 soundcheck), Legacy Magazine (#2 soundcheck), and Metal Hammer Germany (#5 soundcheck). For a preview of the record, a video for the single, “She Wolves of the Savage Season”, can be viewed below:

Purchase and stream Alchemical Warfare in full now at: metalblade.com/dreadsovereign – where the record is available in various formats.

Dread Sovereign was formed in Dublin, Ireland in 2013 by Primordial vocalist Nemtheanga to give praise to filthy cult old doom, black and heavy metal. Their first EP – 2013’s Pray to the Devil in Man – came out on Roadburn/Burning World Records to coincide with the band’s live debut. Soon after, two full-lengths were released by Van Records: All Hell’s Martyrs (2014) and For Doom the Bell Tolls (2017). And now, in early 2021, the band will release their new album, Alchemical Warfare, through Metal Blade Records.

“Our motto when we started was ‘The World is Doomed’…and it seems life is imitating art…as we are looking like filthy prophets!” says vocalist/bassist Nemtheanga. “Several years in the making, the new Dread Sovereign is ready for the End of the World, which might be next year in case you didn’t know! A bit more reckless and up-tempo than the previous releases, yet the template remains doom, ‘Alchemical Warfare‘ just has a bit more Venom and Motorhead thrown into the mix. If it’s the end of days we might as well go out with middle fingers raised right?”

THUNDER Release New Single ‘Going To Sin City’

British rockers THUNDER have released the brand new single ‘Going To Sin City’, the second taste of their upcoming 13th studio album ‘All The Right Noises’ out March 12th 2021 on BMG.

The defiantly strutting track is a rare look back for the band, who perhaps only now are processing the whirlwind of their late 80’s and early 90’s adventures.

On the song, guitarist and songwriter Luke Morley says:

‘It’s based on the first time Danny [Thunder vocalist Danny Bowes] and I went to LA in the late-80s. We were used to the music scene around Soho, and thought we were cool. In LA I felt like I was the bloke who’d come to fix the plumbing. Before bands like Guns N’ Roses rock’n’roll was pretty much denim and leather in Britain. Danny and I were determined to bring all that colour and sex and fun to the new band we were forming, which became Thunder.’

The album is a return to the full-throttle sound of Thunder that has seen them create a hugely successful 30+ year career at the forefront of British rock.

‘All The Right Noises’ is an intense confection of illicit charms that reasserts their authority as the number one band in the land. Recorded in the months leading up to the first Covid-19 lockdown, it was originally due for release in September 2020. Strange to reflect then on how much of the new material appears to address the challenging new world we now inhabit.

On the album, Luke says “ All the songs were written and recorded pre-Covid. But it is interesting how if you look at some of the tracks through the prism of Covid they still make a lot of sense.”

‘All The Right Noises’ follows on from 2019’s stripped back and reimagined album, ‘Please Remain Seated’ which continued their consecutive Top 10 UK Album Chart run since their ecstatically received comeback six years ago.

It is another chapter in the band’s incredibly successful history that has seen them create a succession of some of the most highly-regarded rock albums of the past 30 years. The key to their renown: brilliantly conceived top-drawer material including all-time classics like ‘Dirty Love’, and ‘Low Life In High Places’, described by the late great Radio One Rock Show presenter Tommy Vance as “the greatest ever single released by a rock band”.

With their most recent success, Thunder have proven themselves as vital now as when they emerged with their debut album in 1990 ‘Backstreet Symphony’, and their hit follow-up in 1992 ‘Laughing On Judgement Day’, which was only kept off the top spot by Kylie Minogue.

Tracklisting
1. Last One Out Turn Off The Lights
2. Destruction
3. The Smoking Gun
4. Going To Sin City
5. Don’t Forget To Live Before You Die
6. I’ll Be The One
7. Young Man
8. You’re Gonna Be My Girl
9. St George’s Day
10. Force Of Nature

EYEHATEGOD Release New Song “Fake What’s Yours”

EYEHATEGOD, who recently announced their first new album in seven years, “A History of Nomadic Behavior” (March 12, Century Media Records), have debuted a second single from the twelve song album, releasing “Fake What’s Yours” with an accompanying visualizer. Check it out HERE!

“’Fake What’s Yours’ is the second single from our new album, “A History of Nomadic Behavior”, and it’s a pure uncut chunk of anti-authoritarian preach-speak set to a condescending guitar riff that could only be born from the dirty streets of New Orleans, says Mike IX Williams. “We can’t wait for everyone to hear the full record, but for now, put on your gas masks, lock your doors, stay home and LISTEN!”

News of the new album and the debut of the eerily prescient first single, “High Risk Trigger”, was met with widespread enthusiasm. Revolver described the track as “an apocalyptic rager instilled with the anxiety and insurgency of our times,” Stereogum said the song is “a true banger,” and Consequence of Sound said the early preview denotes “a worthy return for a band that’s made crushing consistency its trademark.”

“A History of Nomadic Behavior” follows a period that saw the New Orleans based band on the road for three years, preceded by Williams suffering liver failure and a transplant. “We toured our asses off for three years and that’s where “A History of Nomadic Behavior” basically comes from,” adds Williams before touching on his health challenge: “Death is a part of life, it’s a roll of the dice. Sometimes you take life as it comes, other times you fight to stay alive .” The album was produced by Eyehategod, Sanford Parker (Yob, Voivod) and James Whitten (Thou, High on Fire), with mixing by Whitten. The band recorded at HighTower Recording and Hypercube studios.

NANOWAR OF STEEL Announce Major Style Shift in New Statement, Watch New Teaser

Italy’s finest, NANOWAR OF STEEL – famous for their beloved metal parodies and cheeky hit songs such as “Valhallelujah” and “Uranus” – have turned to their fans and supporters on social media today in a new, heartfelt and honest statement about the band’s current situation. After gathering millions of clicks on YouTube and Spotify, as well as just recently re-releasing their popular 2018 album Stairway To Valhalla, the band will be undergoing a major stylistic shift and a new musical direction.

Watch the teaser NANOWAR OF STEEL’s new upcoming music HERE:

NANOWAR OF STEEL states:

“We’re getting close to the 40 years old threshold and after so many years in the music industry we have to face the fact that – despite the growth we experienced in the last years and an important record deal with Napalm Records – metal and heavy music in general cannot give us the kind of financial sustainability our lives require at this stage.
If you follow us on social media, you should already be aware of the fact that we have announced a radical change of direction our music will take. We can now state that this change means our new style will be considerably lighter and oriented towards a broader audience.
We’re sorry to put this in these terms – which might sound way too cold and materialistic – but we want to make things clear before our fans and all those who, in the last years, supported us for what we were, a parody METAL band.
(…)
With our new music, new projects and new energy we are aiming at climbing the charts, going to Sanremo, join the Eurovision and – first and foremost – conquer the hearts of those who do not know the band we’re mocking when we sing ‘By sunlight we ride, ten thousand side by side’.”

WITHERFALL Release “The Other Side of Fear” Video Clip

After a headlong dive into the aesthetics of classic 80s horror movies with the clip for “As I Lie Awake” WITHERFALL are further exploring their nightmarish journey with “The Other Side of Fear” which was directed by Cig Neutron and KasL:

WITHERFALL about the video clip: “’The Other Side of Fear’ video is a nightmare-scape starring Cig Neutron, Rannie Rodil and Sin Twisted. Cig Neuron and his team managed to capture the core themes of the song. Theß video highlights the lyrical panic and anxious fear driven delivery of the music. The video is unsettling, creative and definitely NSFW.” They further comment on the track: “This song is the oldest track on this record. Joseph had the title and basic melody and theme. The music was written around it, usually at the end of each writing session. The piece was initially started during the ‘A Prelude to Sorrow’ sessions where the verses and chorus were complete.  As we progressed with the writing of ‘A Prelude To Sorrow’ it became apparent we were writing a rock opera about Adam Sagan and ‘The Other Side of Fear’ did not really fit thematically.  The Song was finished in Las Vegas after a debaucherously ridiculous evening.”

“The Other Side of Fear” is the forth single taken from “Curse Of Autumn”, the upcoming album from WITHERFALL that is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 5th, 2021 with the US vinyl being available April 2nd, 2021.

Italian/Polish CAMERA OBSCURA TWO To Release ‘D.Ö.D.’ Debut Album, Lyric Video “Stalked By The Eye Of No God” Premiered

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 15, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: CAMERA OBSCURA TWO, CO2. Leave a comment

Selfmadegod Records welcomes Polish/Italian grindcore/thrash/crossover faction CAMERA OBSCURA TWO – with current and former members of Schizo, Cripple Bastards, Hour Of Penance, Novembre, The Foreshadowing, Pestem, and many others – and presents the band’s debut album, D.Ö.D. Decibel Magazine is hosting an exclusive premiere of the album’s lead single, “Stalked By The Eye Of No God,” delivered through a lyric video.

CAMERA OBSCURA TWO (or CO2) is led by Alberto Penzin, formerly of Italian thrash legends Schizo, on four-string bass, joined by Giulio The Bastard (Cripple Bastards) on vocals, Andrea Ragusa (ex- Pestem, I Will Kill You) on five-string bass, Marco Mastrobuono (Hour Of Penance, Inno) on guitars, and Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre, Catacomb) on drums.

Following their 2019 split 7″ EP with Schizo, CO2‘s D.Ö.D. was tracked in Italy by Mastrobuono and Orlando at Kick Recording and Outer Sound Studios with additional tracking by Carlo Altobelli and Graziano Manuele at Toxic Basement Studios and Ueickap Studio, with additional guitar and bass tracked in Poland by Haldor Grunberg at MAQ Records and Satanic Audio, and additional drum pars recorded by Wilfred Ho in China. The record was mixed and mastered by Mastrobuono and Orlando at Kick Recording and completed with illustrations and cover design by Szymon Siech. Several of the tracks were originally written and performed by Schizo in the 1980s and 1990s, and the record features guest musicians Marco Montagna with additional lead guitars and vibrato bar and Steven Fischer with additional effects and underground cinematics.

Offers Alberto Penzin, “If I had to sum up CO2 in a phrase, I would say something like this: have your daily dose of Crowley, a lifelong listening to Venom’s Welcome To Hell, Discharge’s Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing, and Repulsion’s Horrified, 1/4 of tongue-in-cheek, grate over some battered Boss HM-2 pedal et voilà, that’s the kind of place we like to hang out at. Roughly. Heavy music has to be pretty simple. This new take of ‘Stalked By The Eye Of No God’ adheres to the principle.”

Decibel offers with their premiere of the lyric video for the “Stalked By The Eye Of No God” single, “The band deal in lean grindcore, thrash and crossover, recalling Terrorizer and Discharge, filling all empty space with frantic instrumentals and growled lyrics… The presence of two bass players gives CAMERA OBSCURA TWO a heavier low end, which contributes to the grooviness of their sound.”

Watch CAMERA OBSCURA TWO’s “Stalked By The Eye Of No God” lyric video first only through Decibel Magazine at THIS LOCATION.

Selfmadegod Records will release CO2‘s D.Ö.D. on CD and all digital platforms on February 12th. Watch for additional audio, preorders, and more to post in the days ahead. Fans of Discharge, Bulldozer, Nihilist, Hellhammer, Terrorizer, Repulsion, Killing Joke, and S.O.D. should not miss this one.

D.Ö.D. Track Listing:

  1. My Ways Are Not Your Ways
  2. To Bleed To Feel Alive
  3. Stalked By The Eye Of No God
  4. Need For Limited Loss
  5. (She’s) The Enemy
  6. The Bitterest Drop (Part 1)
  7. [hidden track]
  8. Swamp Angel*
  9. Deathstress**

*originally written & performed by Schizo, Catania IT, 1997

**originally written & performed by Schizo, Catania IT, 1987

CAMERA OBSCURA TWO was conceived by Alberto Penzin (ex-Schizo) on 09/09/07 and ultimately brought to life on 10/10/10 with the grand arrival of Giulio The Bastard (Cripple Bastards) on vocal duties, followed by the pivotal recruiting of second bass player Andrea Ragusa on 11/11/11. After a few years in the basement intertwined with some sporadic live stints, several demo tracks and a couple dozen additional months on hiatus, the band is now ready for quite some turmoil following the addition to the ranks of guitar player deluxe Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono and drummer wiz Giuseppe “Peppe” Orlando.

The band’s first full-length release is an elegant recollection of all CO2 crucial tunes purposely re-recorded and put together for the eloquently titled D.Ö.D. album, a twenty-eight-minute lean, mean, and tight affair. The record also marks the unfortunate departure of lead vocalist Giulio The Bastard, as the CD cover sticker reads, “A mean compendium of songs arranged, rehearsed and experienced during the early days of the band. And a farewell mémoire to friend and vocalist Giulio The Bastard, no longer involved with CO2. All tracks freshly revamped and committed to tape with no holds barred, mostly fueled by a glorious array of HM-2/5150 set to explode.”

As luck would have it, a new vocalist has already been found and will be formally introduced prior the release of next album T.O.D., which has already been conceived and is planned for next year. To sum it all up in just a few bombastic words: CO2 is a one-way pathway to spiritual elevation filtered through a lifetime worth of obsession with metallic transgression. In other words, all the controlled violence and grinding riffage you could wish for.

CAMERA OBSCURA TWO:
Alberto Penzin – four-string bass
Andrea Ragusa – five-string bass
Marco Mastrobuono – guitars
Giuseppe Orlando – drums
Giulio The Bastard – vocals
