Brazilian thrash metal cult legends THE MIST are back, and they’re not pulling any punches. Today marks the release of their brand-new album The Dark Side Of The Soul (An Anatomy Of The Soul), out now via Alma Mater Records, the label founded by MOONSPELL’s Fernando Ribeiro!

After decades in the shadows, THE MIST return with a vengeance, delivering a ferocious concept album that fuses raw aggression, dark atmosphere, and the unmistakable intensity that made them a cornerstone of Brazil’s underground metal scene.

Formed in 1989 from the ashes of MAYHEM and fronted by ex-CHAKAL vocalist Vladimir Korg, THE MIST quickly carved out their place in the Brazilian metal underground. Their debut Phantasmagoria (1989) introduced a furious thrash sound infused with heavy metal roots, while their dark, conceptual second album The Hangman Tree (1991) became an underground classic.

The band went on to experiment with industrial elements on Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust (1993) and closed their first era with Gottverlassen (1995). After splitting up, THE MIST reemerged in 2018, reigniting their legacy with The Scarecrow Tour featuring Jairo Guedz of The Troops Of Doom, and in 2021 released the acclaimed comeback EP The Circle of the Crow.

Exactly 30 years after their last full-length Gottverlassen, Vladimir Korg once again leads THE MIST into new territory with a concept album divided into three acts. Produced by André Damien, mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Tue Madsen (Halford, Meshuggah, Moonspell), and featuring cover art by Michael Whelan, The Dark Side Of The Soul stands as THE MIST’s most ambitious work to date. Musically, the album is pure, unrelenting thrash: lightning-fast riffs, punishing rhythms, furious vocals, and lyrics dripping with rage and allegory – the perfect soundtrack for vengeance, ready to reclaim their place among the titans of thrash!

German death metal veterans MY DARKEST HATE unleash their long-awaited sixth studio album “Rust And Bones”, out today via Massacre Records on limited Mediabook CD and gatefold vinyl LP.

To mark the release, the band present the brand-new single and lyrics video “Vengeance My Brother” — a furious statement of loyalty, retaliation, and retribution.

The band explain: “If someone hurts you, we will avenge you. No punishment goes unpunished.”

“Vengeance My Brother” encapsulates the essence of “Rust And Bones”: uncompromising old-school death metal, sharpened with modern aggression and lyrical depth. Produced together with Andy Classen (Krisiun, Destruction, Legion Of The Damned), the album strikes a perfect balance between brute force and haunting atmosphere — 10 tracks that reaffirm the band’s place among Europe’s most relentless extreme metal acts.

“Rust And Bones” also features guest appearances from Dave Ingram (Benediction, ex-Bolt Thrower) on “He Who Never Sleeps” and TZ (Pessimist, Muggeseggel) on “Flammenland” — the first German-language track in MY DARKEST HATE’s history.

The artwork, created by Remy Cooper (Headsplit Design / Napalm Death, Kreator), captures the album’s visceral energy and apocalyptic tone.

Iranian WARAHRAN Unleash Debut Single ‘Flowered Field’ from Upcoming Album “Midnight Fire”

Iranian Extreme Metal duo Warahran makes a strong debut with “Flowered Field” teasing fans of black metal and thrash metal with its unique approach to the genre. “Flowered Field” is a song about the casualties of war, how each one of us could be next. The song is from the band’s upcoming album “Midnight Fire” which will be released everywhere on November 28th.

​“Flowered Field” opens with a progressive and yet, thrashy riff and abruptly moves to black metal style vocals and drumlines while maintaining a progressive metal song structure. The song also features death metal riffs to intensify the atmosphere and also a heavy breakdown to add a modern touch. From a songwriting perspective, Warahran showcases the chaotic nature of war to listeners where anything can happen. Lyrically this aligns well with Warahran’s message.

“We all lie to ourselves that we’re safe, but war can happen at any time and anywhere. We could all be next, but it’s important to keep fighting the good fight.”

With lines like “No time for sorrow and grief the only emotion is hate” the band shows the drastic nature of war where there is no chance to feel any emotion but hate. At the end the band hints at retaliation at the aggressors. And how the victims of war will rise again.

From the blackened mines of Bergslagen and rising from the ashes of the now‑defunct band Maniak, Sweden’s ZADISM emerge as an unholy force bent on obliterating restraint.

Guided by the spirit of the early Brazilian underground (you know the ones – disfigured riffs, filthy production, uncompromising aggression) and the savage blueprint laid down by the German thrash metal pioneers at the dawn of the scene, this duo brings a sound steeped in raw violence and fury.
