CYHRA/RED WOLF guitarist EUGE VALOVIRTA has released a touching song and video ‘A Song For An Absent Friend’, watch below.
Euge states:
“It’s for Alexi, but also for all the late friends. And to my Grandpa, who passed away some time ago.
The song actually got its start after my Grandpa’s passing and I came back to it now ‘cos I felt that I had to “play my feelings out” somehow. So I finished the song and then filmed myself playing the lead guitar and just played from my heart.
I can’t really explain it but playing guitar always makes me feel better no matter what is going on.
Alexi & I weren’t the closest friends but every time we met we always had such a great time. Whether it was playing on each of other’s albums, doing guitar clinics or playing occasional live shows or just hanging out. He was one the most caring, humble and nicest guys I’ve ever met and it feels so unfair that he isn’t with us anymore.”

The Mansion (Rehearsal June 1984) (3:42) 11. Eighteen (Alice Cooper Cover – Rehearsal May 1984) (4:20) 12. Hallows Eve (Including Routine) (Rehearsal May 1984) (8:18)
Hallows Eve bassist Tommy Stewart checked in with the following comment about the album: “‘Tales Of Terror‘ launched Hallows Eve with a bang! We were a small tribe of street kids full of passion, anger, joy, and the unbridled frustrations of youth at the same time. We wanted to channel all that energy by screaming at the world and that was ‘Tales Of Terror‘.”
Formed in 1983, Hallows Eve were one of the first thrash bands in metal history, alongside heavyweights such as Metallica, Slayer (whom they supported on their Hell Awaits tour), Exodus and Anthrax. They mixed Black Sabbath, Motörhead and Iron Maiden riffs with the energy of punk-like Dead Kennedys and added a touch of Alice Cooper‘s image. Their first two-track demo caused a big buzz on the tape-trading scene and secured them a spot on the legendary Metal Massacre VI compilation (besides Possessed, Nasty Savage, Hirax, Dark Angel, etc.), released by Brian Slagel. As a natural progress, they signed to his label Metal Blade Records later on. 1985 saw the release of the genre defining thrash classic Tales Of Terror. It featured the original versions of the aforementioned demo tracks and five new shredding songs, which took the underground by storm and gained raving reviews like a 9/10 by Götz Kühnemund of Rock Hard Germany. Long out of print in its original version, Tales Of Terror was last reissued in 2006 as part of the History Of Terror 3CD+DVD-Boxset – which also included the following Metal Blade albums: Death & Insanity (1986) and Monument (1988), as well as rare live and rehearsal recordings – and is now finally available again in re-mastered editions on vinyl as well as in the Digipak-CD format (with 4 rehearsal tracks as bonus). Stay tuned for further Hallows Eve re-issue news coming soon.

“We hope youve already come to your senses after New Year’s alcoholic party and had awesome holidays! With great proud and pleasure we would like to announce that on 11.01 on Monday at 9 pm CET something amazing will happen we have been waiting for for many years – official premiere of our long-awaiting documentary (or as we used to call it “DVD” in broadcastings, although this medium has lost its relevance), dedicated to our 15th anniversary and it will be called “15 years of madness” in 4 languages (Russian, English, German and Czech)! Thiss quite voluminous work, including footage taken from the very begining of Welicoruss and first concerts in Russia, opinions of musicians playing in Welicoruss at different times, colleagues of metal scene, business guys, fans, backstage footage and much more! This documentary, we think, will be interesting not only for Welicoruss’ fans, but also for heavy music lovers who want to learn more about metal scene in Russia (Siberia), to follow Alexey’s complicated path from distant Siberia to Prague and to know what is behind band`s music and conception. We have been waiting for that moment for a long time, we hope you too!

Spanish technical death metal masters WORMED are now streaming a brand new play-through video for the track ‘Bionic Relic’, which is taken from their latest EP ‘Metaportal’. The new sci-fi offering was released on July 19, 2019. Check out the play-through HERE!
WORMED comment: “We’re not fans of play-throughs, but since this world is changing and we haven’t played anywhere for a year (!!!) we thought you would like to enjoy a display of a ‘Metaportal’ track, ‘Bionic Relic’ with the full band. This was recorded on different planets. We live light years from each other and it’s quite hard to be all together for recording any footage. Become a ‘Bionic Relic’ with us!“.
