Internationally esteemed heavy rock and metal record labels Napalm Records Handels GmbH and SPV GmbH are pleased to announce that they have joined forces, combining decades of renowned expertise and passion for music, their artists, and those who inspire it all – the fans. Napalm Records’ acquisition of SPV was completed at the end of November 2020 and represents a logical step in the Austrian company’s global strategy.

In the photos, SPV Managing Director Frank Uhle on the left, Napalm Records CEO Markus Riedler on the right

Long-established company SPV, founded in 1984 by Manfred Schütz, along with its current subsidiary labels such as Steamhammer (featuring a roster including Sodom, Running Wild, Magnum, Axel Rudi Pell, Rage) and Long Branch Records (featuring artists such as  Agent Fresco, The Intersphere, The Hirsch Effekt, Silvertomb, A Pale Horse Named Death), is now part of the Napalm Records family. The company’s current location in Hannover, Germany and the SPV team around Managing Director Frank Uhle will maintain their structure and, in regard to new distribution partners and labels, be expanded in the future.

Napalm Records CEO Markus Riedler states:
“The continuation and expansion of SPV GmbH as a distributor and the strengthening of the in-house labels are our major priorities. We will combine all forces, and link them with the power and worldwide network of Napalm Records in order to positively shape the future together. The employees of SPV are music-savvy, extremely experienced experts who are needed, now more than ever, to survive in these turbulent times on the international market. Together with Managing Director Frank Uhle and his team, we will seize the opportunities that currently present themselves and face the ever-growing challenges that the modern music market brings with it. In the ever-changing music landscape, we will continue to deliver our strong digital setup alongside our partners The Orchard, and also continue to provide strong physical product distribution for both our retail partners and the fans worldwide via our mailorder stores.
We have purposefully launched and implemented this major project under difficult conditions in 2020. This was a great team effort, for which I would like to thank everyone involved, in particular to the attorneys Prof. Pascal Charles Amann (Napalm Records) and Joris Brand (SPV). For Napalm Records, this acquisition is without a doubt an extraordinary, historic moment!”

SPV Managing Director Frank Uhle adds:
“With Napalm Records, we have found a synergistically perfect partner for our artists, bands and labels. The international setup and the additional reach and power of Napalm‘s marketing capabilities mean an important upgrade for SPV in tackling future tasks. I look forward to working with Markus Riedler and the affiliated teams to further strengthen and expand our position in the market.”

DEATHWHITE Release New Video For Song “Grave Image”

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE has shared a brand new video for the title track of their latest album, ‘Grave Image.’ The video, which was made by Guilherme Henriques, is available HERE.

Comments the band: “The themes reflected in both the video and song are indicative of the world we currently occupy — the pandemic of 2020 simply amplified those matters. The havoc wrought upon this planet via the denial of science and facts will have an adverse effect for generations to come. As suggested in the accompanying lyrics for ‘Grave Image’ the song, these wanton acts are far from an illusion, but instead are now a part of everyday, real life.

“With 2020 about to bow out, we are looking toward the future, namely our third studio album, as well as the ongoing promotion of ‘Grave Image.’ We are currently deep in the throes of demoing and immensely look forward to putting the finishing touches on these compositions. The early verdict is that these songs are slower, doomier, and, dare we say more ‘atmospheric’ than before.

“We would also be remiss if we did not thank those who supported Deathwhite in 2020. We are forever in your debt.”

‘Grave Image’ was released earlier this year and has so far been named one of the best metal albums of 2020 by Heavy New York, Dead Rhetoric, and A&P Reacts.

‘Grave Image’ can be streamed/downloaded/ordered at THIS LOCATION.

Italian legendary heavy metallers SCALA MERCALLI, active since 1992, together with Brazilian LIVING METAL, united in their common passion for classic heavy metal, releasing a cover video for ‘Luna Nera’ by the historical band STRANA OFFICINA, performed by some members of the two bands. Scala Metal or Living Mercalli, as they call themselves amiably, in this difficult period for the whole planet, joining forces and sending a message of brotherhood among all lovers of Metal and not only!

Watch the video here:

SCALA MERCALLI declare:
“Strana Officina are one of the most important roots of Italian Heavy Metal and playing this song for us is not only a pleasure but an honor, in addition doing it with friends in Living Metal was fantastic, they are true people with a big heart. We hope that this small contribution will help increase the desire for collaboration between bands “

LIVING METAL declare:
“Strana Officina are a great influence for all of us in the band, we are really fans and we are happy we have had this opportunity to pay this tribute together with the brothers of Scala Mercalli! We are fans of Scala and happy to call them our “overseas brothers”, we really love Italian metal and for this reason, despite being born in Brazil we chose to record the Italian version of this song (also because Pedro Zupo (vocals) and Rafael Romanelli (guitar) have italian origins! Because the limit of languages will never stop us, we have Heavy Metal, a universal language that unites us! As Bud says in the presentation: BEAT THE HAMMER !!!”

“Independence” album is about the first part of Italian Risorgimento, from Naple’s Reign ruled by King Murat until Mazzini’s Roman Republic, including episodes on Mille (The Expedition of the Thousand) and Brigandage, with some of their main characters. The band will wear the new uniform inspired by the units, from north to south, that in the above-mentioned period fought side by side with the people and contributed with hard sacrifices to build Italian nation.

The band about “Independence”:
“This project is about some events we consider of great importance in our country’s history, because they remind us of how important it has been, for a people dominated for years by foreign powers, to fight for ideals of unity and freedom, and reminds also that freedom, in every form, is never a gift but has always to be conquered fighting together. Yesterday as today!”

This example applies to every people or nation that wants to be truly free!

BEWITCHER Announce “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom” Album, Out April 16th, 2021

When one finds themselves at the proverbial crossroads – face to face with the Devil himself – who wouldn’t choose the left hand path? Honestly, evil is too enticing, too strong, and Hell has the best music anyway. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, heavy metal mongrels BEWITCHER made their pact with Lucifer years ago, and have been walking the dark path ever since.

Today BEWITCHER are unveiling the front cover for their upcoming Century Media Records debut and 3rd studio album, “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom”, which was done by Paolo Girardi (Power Trip and many more). “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom” is set for a release on April 16th, 2021. Keep your eyes and ears open for a new song shortly.

M. von Bewitcher (vox & guitars) comments:
“We summoned the mighty Paolo Girardi to deliver us a cover that visually depicted a few of the lyrical themes within the album. It has a Renaissance-era vibe to it, but it also incorporates some nods to the band’s past. It’s filled with all kinds of omens, harbingers, and all that cool dark, evil looking shit that is a necessity in any heavy metal album cover of merit! Get your dose of black magic on April 16th, when ‘Cursed Be Thy Kingdom’ is finally turned loose upon the world!“

Recorded at The Captain’s Quarters in Ventura, California by Armand John Anthony (Night Demon), and mixed by Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Megadeth), “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom” is a powerhouse, heavy-metal-rock-’n’-roll record forged in the white hot fires of Hell.

Rock ’n’ roll is the Devil’s music, and through “Cursed Be Thy Kingdom”, BEWITCHER invites you to join them at the crossroads, drink from the chalice of rock ’n’ roll, then ritualistically sell your soul to the dark lord himself. M. von Bewitcher puts it best, “The Devil is always ready to make the deal…”
