Canadian tech death masters ARCHSPIRE have just completed the recording for the full-length follow up to 2017’s JUNO-Award Nominated ‘Relentless Mutation!’ The offering was once again recorded by Dave Otero and will be unleashed onto the masses in 2021. Stay tuned for more!

“WE DID IT! We completed our 6 week sentence in Music Prison (FLATLINE AUDIO Studios in Colorado) with Tech Support Professional DAVE OTERO at the helm!” exclaims ARCHSPIRE. “We went with Dave once again as a follow-up to our 2017 release: RELENTLESS MUTATION, where our deep love for him was first kindled. This album is a product of roughly two and a half years of writing, and we truly feel it’s the most solid material we’ve ever created. This album is very fast, so please enjoy responsibly. “Stay Tech! “Archspire”

Last year, ARCHSPIRE made headlines for appearing on Apple TV’s series “See,” starring Jason Momoa (‘Aquaman,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ etc.), which featured ARCHSPIRE vocalist Oli Peters and drummer Spencer Prewett on the pilot episode! Peters showcases his signature gunfire vocals in a scene in which Momoa hand-selected the band to appear. The episode can be seen at THIS LOCATION.

This isn’t the first time that ARCHSPIRE has broken new ground. The JUNO- Award (Canadian Grammy) nominated technical death metal band, who are currently headliners on four different continents, made both national and international headlines earlier this year for being the perfect musical template for the creation of Artificially Intelligent death metal. Dadabots is special artificial intelligent (AI) software that creates music. The software, developed by Berkley College of Music graduates Zack Zukowski and CJ Carr, is built upon a “recurrent neural network” that receives data and then uses it to interpret musical sequences on its own. Simply stated, the software teaches itself how to compose music based on the work of an existing band as its data-set.

After several failed attempts at creating stable, listenable death metal, the creators turned to the music of ARCHSPIRE, which ended up being the perfect template to generating metal tunes via artificial intelligence. More on the project can be read in a document the researchers’ produced in 2017 at THIS LOCATION.

ALICEISSLEEPING Share New Video “Over and Over Again” From Upcoming Album

February 5, 2021 will see UK’s Alt/Heavy Grunge Rock act ALICEISSLEEPING release their hotly anticipated debut album, entitled Completely Fine, through Mandrone Records. Ever since the release of their 2018 debut EP Space Wanders & Bleeding Hearts, Aliceissleeping has been one of the most unique acts in London’s music scene today. Fronted by vocalist and five-stringed bassist Alice ( formerly MAB ), the band takes inspiration from the vast palette of heavy rock, drawing on everything from ’70s prog rock to 90s, while fans of Smashing Pumpkins, Rush and even early Queen will find a nostalgic — if hallucinatory — home in Aliceissleeping. Alice’s vocals swagger schizophrenically between ferocious screams and banshee operatics, accompanied by shredding riffs and thunderous drum beats!

The trio has just released their first single “Over and Over Again” on all digital platforms, along with its blistering music video, directed by Duncan Catterall, which perfectly highlights the dynamics of this heavy dark rock anthem. Watch the video here:

Listen on Spotify | Listen on Bandcamp

“Inspired by Joy Division’s drilling hypnotic dynamics, “Over And Over Again” is about the sick passion that causes pain and pleasure where perseverance becomes diabolical.” The band comments.

We love how we painted the contrast between pleasure and pain using fast beats and spacey guitars on the verse against screaming vocals and fuzz guitars during in the chorus. This song is so retro and modern at the same time, and the video is a tribute to 90s grunge and 80s darkwave, which are both parts of our broad influences. Definitely a song to put on repeat.“

Completely Fine was produced by Aliceissleeping and engineered by Will Maya (The Answer) between England and Spain. The artwork, inspired by b-movie posters, was created by Federico Salis.

Completely Fine Tracklist:

01. Outsiders
02. Felix
03. Over And Over Again
04. Twilight
05. Scary Mary
06. Alien
07. Not Cool
08. Negotiating Sex
09. Lost Girls

Completely Fine will be released as Vinyl, CD and in Digital formats on February 5, 2021 via Mandrone Records, pre-orders are available at THIS LOCATION!

MSG Reveal Third Album Trailer Discussing New Single ‘After The Rain’

Michael Schenker will release his new MSG album, “Immortal”, on January 29th, 2021 via Nuclear Blast. The album title is a perfect statement describing Michael Schenker’s legacy and to celebrate his 50th anniversary as a musician. The band has revealed their third album trailer, in which Michael Voss explains, how their second single, the power ballad ‘After The Rain’ was written and where the idea for the song came from.

Also, watch the music video for ‘After The Rain’ here: https://youtu.be/kLMn1nPqANM

“The song ‘After The Rain’ was coming out of the blue. A power ballad I have never done before. Michael Voss wrote some lyrics and vocal melodies, after I had put down my musically composition on backing track for this song. The next morning Michael Voss played me what he had sang to it and I said: This is so beautiful, only you can sing this song and it turned out amazing“, comments Michael Schenker.

„This is an outstanding mellow tuned power ballad with some unique Michael Schenker clean picking guitarstyle. When I first listened to Michaels rough sketches, I was singing a kinda ‚lala‘ melody that automatically drove me into the line ‚say have you been lonely,…‘ – from there I felt it must deal about a sad loss and a departure of a big love… but there will be sun and light… after the rain“, adds Michael Voss.

The album was predominantly recorded at the Kidroom Studio in Germany, with Michael‘s long time partner Michael Voss who co-produced the album and also sings on two tracks. The cover artwork of  „Immortal“ wascreated by Zsofia Dankova(POWERWOLF etc.).

„Immortal“ will continue the tradition of the previous two MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST records  „Resurrection“ and „Revelation“ featuring a big list of friends and guests. The album’s main vocalist will be uprising Chilean born talent Ronnie Romero (RAINBOW etc.), along with Michael Voss (MAD MAX etc.),  Ralf Scheepers(PRIMAL FEAR) and Joe Lynn Turner (ex-DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW etc.) singing on two tracks each. Besides Michael Schenker himself, the album was recorded with Steve Mann  (keyboards), Barry Sparks (bass, DOKKEN etc.), as well as the three drummers Bodo Schopf, Simon  Philipps (ex-TOTO) and Brian Tichy (ex-WHITESNAKE). The newest addition to the record is keyboard player Derek Sherinian (ex-DREAM THEATER, ex-KISS etc.), who plays on the album’s opening track, featuring German power machine Ralf Scheepers on vocals.

„Immortal“ will feature ten tracks, including the magnum opus “In Search Of The Peace Of Mind”. „I wrote this song when I was 15 years old, it was my first ever written piece of music which I recorded with SCORPIONS on our first studio album „Lonesome Crow“ in 1970, getting released in 1972. We re-recorded this song for my 50th anniversary as a celebration and it turned out to be an epic; with an extra extension at the end of the song, which turned out absolutely fantastic with Simon Phillips on drums, doing his usual amazing stuff.“ The result is a true highlight and features even more surprises: „Gary Barden sings the first verse,  continued by Ronnie Romero – and in the end we have Ronnie, Doogie White and Robin McAuley screaming their heads off, as a tribute to my 50th anniversary. Absolute amazing. Thanks to the guys for doing this!“

The limited first edition of this upcoming MSG album will feature another unique extra: „It will include the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST – Bang Your Head – Blu-ray, which was recorded during our headline show in Balingen/Germany two years ago: Unfixed, raw, pure and great! There’s a couple of small mistakes, but because the show and recording went so well, I decided to keep it the way it went on the night. It’s live, magic and pure.“

BENEATH THE MASSACRE Release Video For “Autonomous Mind”

Canada-based tech-death specialists BENEATH THE MASSACRE have released a video to “Autonomous Mind”.

The band comments:

“We re excited to finally launch the music video for ‘Autonomous Mind’. We managed to work on the project in between lock downs and other Covid related restrictions and are very pleased with the result. The creativity of the director Chris Kells really allowed us to do a lot of the original script that we thought impossible to produce. All around, it is a very aesthetic video that should trigger questions in the viewers mind. Enjoy!”

“Fearmonger” is the band’s fourth album and Century Media debut. It’s an album that flows naturally yet retains, but still very much extreme and tech-death to the max. BENEATH THE MASSACRE’s trademark go-for-the-jugular sound.

DEAD DIRTY DINOSAURS Release New Single & Video ‘Bad Timing’

Bad Timing is the latest single from the DEAD DIRTY DINOSAURS and the third release with the force that is Riot Records and their parent company Golden Robot Records. Bad Timing is the follow up to recent singles Monica and Revenge.

Life is never simple and relationships can take us all to the depths of confusion, on all sorts of levels. Bad Timing takes a sneak peak at a few moments in time for two people who have no clue what they want or how to get it, sound familiar?

The Treble D’s bring you another pounding indie rock anthem that will keep you bouncing all the way until the final woos. The trademark riffs are back with a dirty bassline and the driving drums that we are starting to expect as standard from the Dead Dirty Dino’s.

Stream/buy Bad Timing HERE

Dead Dirty Dinosaurs are Brisbane icons in the making.

Following a long tradition of powerful music coming out of South East QLD these cantankerous troubadours have been pouring blood, sweat and tears into their music and the result will leave you smiling.

Tackling todays endless stream of daily calamities and staying positive through it all the DDD’s songs of love, life, dubiously deadly careers and a sly look at our wild surroundings all throb with the “night out” energy that we’re all craving right now.

Three Jurassic music lovers who met in the snow fields of Europe but ended up brought together here by a force that can’t be ignored.

A love of 90’s alt rock, punk, post punk and post rock combined with a need to make a mark on a new era in their lives set them on a path with one goal, to snag the support slot for the Pixies in Brisbane.

The pandemic has put that dream off for the moment but signing to Golden Robot and Riot Records combined has started a whole new path and who knows where that’s going to lead us all.
