GRETA VAN FLEET, the GRAMMY-winning, GOLD-certified rock’n’roll band, have shared their visionary new video for the song “Age of Machine”. The video can be viewed HERE.

The video creates a new universe filled with symbolism and open to interpretation, with whispers of reflections on modernism. It is a response, a tiny piece of art in a very large conversation – four brothers and friends who spend very little time online, filled with questions – where is technology taking us, what does it all mean, and what are we trading in exchange? The video addresses the crumbling beauty around us, but leaves the final significance to the viewer – whether that narrative be focused on climate, industrialism, intimacy, self confidence, tradition, humanity itself, or otherwise. The only clear concept in the video is that the band chooses life. 

The “Age of Machine” music video was co-directed by Greta Van Fleet and Matthew Daniel Siskin. The new song released last Friday with the announcement of The Battle at Garden’s Gate, the band’s new album due April 16, 2021 (Lava/Republic Records).

Dark Essence Records To Release Split EP From TAAKE And HELHEIM

Norwegian Black Metal icon Hoest has cast some positivity into the hell that has been 2020, with the release of two TAAKE 10″split EPs, one with DEATHCULT (on Edged Circle Productions) and one with WHOREDOM RIFE (on Terratur Possessions), and now, as the year draws to a close, a third split has been announced. 

The new EP will see TAAKE join forces with HELHEIM, and will be the last of the three 10″ splits.  Titled ”Henholdsvis”  the EP will appear on Bergen’s eponymous Dark Essence Records, the long-time label of both bands,  and is set for release on the 5th March 2021.

For “Henholdsvis” TAAKE has recorded two new tracks, “Brotne Bein og Mannefall” and “Ein Baat i Foss”,  whose lyrics are based on poems by the famed Norwegian writer Arne Garborg (1851-1924).  With these new tracks, the band has produced the kind of Black Metal fans crave – dark, cold and gritty.

HELHEIM, on the other hand, will present two covers.  The first is a re-mastered version of EMPEROR’s “Heksesabbat / Witches Sabbath”, which originally appeared on the tribute album “A Tribute to Emperor – In Honour of Icon E” in 2012, and which has now been totally remastered.  For the second of the two covers HELHEIM have chosen to go down a very interesting  path by recording a very different,  and original, version of “Orkan” , from TAAKE’s  “Noregs Vaapen” album.

Recorded by Bjørnar E. Nilsen (VULTURE INDUSTRIES, BLACK HOLE GENERATOR) at his Conclave and Earshot Studio in the bands’ hometown of Bergen, and with artwork by H’grimnir, tracklisting for “Henholdsvis” is as follows:

Hey friends, i got some bad news…with a heavy heart i have to announce that i have to postpone my tour to the end of 2021. I really thought that we could keep the dates and as an artist you write a record to be on tour…i can‘t explain with words how frustrating this is for me but i try to stay positive. I will use the time to write new music for you and to make the live show even bigger and better!!! Don‘t let it bring us down ! We‘re already discussing some concepts for some live alternatives and hopefully we can play a few festivals in summer. We all miss it so much to be on stage…

LINING REDOX is an Italian Progressive Metal band from Padua, formed in 2019 by guitarists Rayan Resuli and Mattia Rodella. Before reaching a stable lineup there were various changes due to different musical tastes and interests. Their main sources of inspiration come from the classics of Progressive and Power Metal, bands like Dream Theater and Rhapsody of Fire were their main inspirations, but various artists such as Opeth, Persephone and Metallica were also influential in creating their sound. They participated in various contests in the Padua area, almost always coming at the first place. In September 2020 they were finalists in Sanremo Rock playing in the legendary stage of the Ariston theater in Sanremo.

The band stated:

“We are very dedicated to our music and interested in improving our technique and our ability to write songs, we aim to make this passion a real time job and we are already starting to work on some new ideas for the next album. Immersing ourselves more in the album, which is a concept, speaks of a protagonist who comes to the realization that the reality we are experiencing in today’s society is preventing humanity from developing, is putting us in a position where we can no longer run out of space for our thoughts, every day we are told lies, so we must find our truth in our minds and find a way to isolate ourselves from the chaos of these disgusting ways of life, both socially and spiritually.”

AVATAR Premiere Official “A Secret Door” Video / 4-Part Concert Series Happening In January 2021

AVATAR have premiered the official music video for the track “A Secret Door”, taken from their celebrated new album Hunter Gatherer . Now accompanied by the band’s signature always outside-the-box and powerful visuals, “A Secret Door”, which features whistles contributed by Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR), is an anthemic and chugging highlight from the record, which was subsequently named one of the best albums of 2020 by Loudwire and Revolver Magazine. AVATAR’s ambitious new era, ushered in by Hunter Gatherer, also saw the band featured as the cover story of Revolver Magazine’s Fall Issue, where frontman Johannes Eckerström reflected on the power of live performance in a year where there was very little. Luckily for fans, the band has announced their upcoming 4-part concert film experience, Avatar Ages – An Impossible Concert Experience , to take place over the course of January 2021. The special event will feature performances from throughout AVATAR’s celebrated catalog, starting with, Hunter Gatherer, followed by feature fan voted setlists. DAKAR is a rock band from Duval County, Florida, named after the street in the Murray Hill neighborhood where it was founded by David Benfield and Darrell Edmunds in 2015. The songwriting pair based their work in the style of 90s alternative and evolved from there, incorporating elements of indie, punk, modern, and southern rock with an unabashed penchant for pro-democracy, anti-facist, pro-diversity, anti-racist themes. Edmunds and Benfield recruited Luke Jean for drums and played locally for several years before releasing the EP Come and Get It in 2020. The group is currently recording new tracks for an EP/LP and booking live concert dates for spring and summer 2021.
