Legendary Australian rockers TASTE will be releasing three EPs and an album in 2021. The first EP being announced today is Brothers Vol. 1 and will be available worldwide on December 23rd. Brothers Vol. 1 is an EP for our times but steeped in the wide-screen colours of a more progressive era. Real strings. Layers of percussion. Walls of harmony. Crafted segues, dramatic timing shifts and a vast, unified vision that befits the grandeur of its title. The band is a potpourri of Queen, Muse and 10cc. Harmonies, guitars and souring vocals abound!

TASTE can be pre-ordered at: https://smarturl.it/2020sGone

No one could expect the events of Covid in 2020 so TASTE are celebrating its demise with their new single “2020’s Gone” co-written with fellow musician Les Brazil with its uplifting message lyrically and anthemic sing a long chorus. A joyous anthem for our freedom. Dealing with the anxieties and worries that has effected all of us, the song resolves with an uplifting positive message embedded in each chorus. “We need a song that we can all singalong to, at one minute past twelve, to say good riddance to what has turned out to be basically a shit year.” – Michael Tortoni

Ken Murdoch, Michael Tortoni and Joey Amenta are hoping to create a universal response at 12:01AM on the 1st January 2021 by encouraging all media and musicians to join them in playing “2020’s Gone” through whatever outlet is available to you. Imagine the euphoria if we  collectively gave 2020 the send off it deserves. Good Riddance!! Join us  for all the fun of singing along to this anthem.

“Taste has a long history in the Australian Music Scene with Many hits in the late 70’s then rising again in the 2000’s and still going strong today and MR Records is excited & proud to be involved in what we believe will be one of the Best EP’s in 2020/21.With 3 amazing new tunes including the incredible  2020’s GONE which is sure to be a world-wide anthem to say good bye to this incredibly difficult year and move into 2021 with new hope and opportunities. Taste are simply one of the great bands Australia has produced. World here they come ~ Peter Hoffmann / Director / MR Records

TASTE started to realise how much of a toll Covid 19 was taking on musicians, artists and the general public at large and adapted the lyrics to reflect this.

“Not only are musicians and road-crews affected financially, but the mental strain is enormous, and with calls to Beyond Blue’s 24/7 Support Service having increased during the pandemic by 48 per cent compared to the same time last year (March through August),this is why we felt we needed to take some form off action. We are donating 20% of our EP sales Profits to Beyond Blue to try and help as much as we can” Said bassist Michael Tortoni

“We’re hoping to extend a call of arms, of sorts, to fellow musicians to singalong with us to show solidarity and support for those in need” Joey Amenta Guitarist commented.

Ken Murdoch singer and songwriter said “It’s been a truly horrible year and we hope everyone will join in and say good riddance. Its a great anthem- “2020’s Gone” One that says from here on things can only get better!”

We are extremely proud to be working & supporting such an important cause and along with our record label MR Records we are happy to donate monies from the sales of the upcoming EP Brothers Vol 1 which has the Song 2020’s GONE as the first single.

RPG (RICK PIERCE GROUP) Release New Single ‘Tick Tock’

Rick Pierce is a founding member, lead guitar and songwriter of the legendary Seattle hard rock band TKO, whose debut release Let It Roll continues to cement the band’s cult-like status. Pierce then went on to play with Q5 (with Floyd Rose, acclaimed inventor of the Floyd Rose tremolo system) who’s album Steal The Light goes down as an all-time classic.

Pierce now returns with RPG (Rick Pierce Group) who recently signed with Crusader Records and have delivered new single Tick Tock.

Tick Tock was written in the spirit of Q5’s Missing in Action, Steel the Light’s hard-hitting album opener. The idea is to get everyone’s attention from the start. It matches a heavy guitar riff to Floyd’s almost mystical lyrics. It is a pure slab of the best U.S. power / traditional metal.

Rick Pierce is a founding member, lead guitar and songwriter of the legendary Seattle hard rock band TKO, whose debut release Let It Roll continues to cement the band’s cult-like status. TKO toured the world with the likes of AC/DC, Van Halen and other huge acts. Rick’s unique arsenal of guitar pyrotechnics provided the backbone of the unmistakable TKO sound.

Following his successful stint with TKO, Rick remained true to his metal roots and teamed up as lead guitarist for power metal band Q5 with Floyd Rose, acclaimed inventor of the Floyd Rose tremolo system. Buoyed by tremendous word-of-mouth and subsequent critical acclaim for their self-released first album, Q5 was signed by the influential British metal label, Music for Nations (Metallica, Manowar). Q5’s album Steel the Light, produced by Floyd, is still considered a classic in metal and hard rock circles worldwide and continues to sell in all formats to this day. The opening thrasher Missing in Action is one of Rick’s best known compositions. Polygram Records released the album in North America and distributed the next album, When the Mirror Crackson Cliff Bernstein and Peter Mensch’s Squawk label.

Suicide Squad, a project with his former singer in TKO, Brad Sinsel marked Rick’s return to Music For Nations, and after Q5’s split MFN signed Rick’s new band, Nightshade for the indie chart topping album Dead of Night. Two more Nightshade albums followed.

Q5 staged a reunion (Floyd couldn’t take part) at Sweden Rock Festival in 2014.  This ultimately resulted in a third Q5 album on Frontiers Records.  Rose and Pierce then began a new songwriting/recording collaboration with Floyd again as producer and Rick on guitar joined by Chris James on vocals, Izzy Rehaume on bass and Frankie Rongo on drums. Chris is Floyd’s discovery from Southern California while Frankie and Izzy are Rick’s past touring and recording mates, Frankie with Nightshade and Q5, and Izzy with the (ex-Metal Church) Ronny Munroe Project.  RPG are recording their new project between Floyd’s studio in Southern California and the studio in Washington State where Rick did the tracking for Q5’s New World Order.

KREATOR To Release ‘Under The Guillotine’ Deluxe Boxset In February

The story of KREATOR’s meteoric rise to the global elite of thrash metal bands from their humble beginnings in Essen Germany, began under their first name of Tormentor in the early 80’s. It was their ‘Blitzkreig’ and ‘End Of The World’ demos changing hands in the era’s bustling underground tape-trading network that exposed them to the international metal community.  Positive word of mouth soon attracted the attention of Germany’s own metal start-up, Noise Records, which signed the newly re-christened Kreator to a deal.

Kreator’s tenure at the label spawned six studio albums and established them as one of the most influential on the thrash scene, one they dominate to this day.  1985 debut, Endless Pain was a savage debut; its crude thrashing quickly had the underground metal world abuzz with excitement. 1986’s Follow up, Pleasure To Kill is considered the band’s first “classic” album and raised the bar with more diversity of tempos, while losing nothing in terms of ferocity or speed. 1987’s Terrible Certainty further cemented the reputation that Kreator were one of the genre’s finest exponents.  In 1989 the band closed the decade with the thrash triumph of Extreme Aggression, their biggest seller to date.  1990’s huge magnum opus Coma Of Souls confirmed them in thrash history before they diversified their sound on the experimental, Renewal in 1992.

Under The Guillotine is a deluxe celebration of Kreator’s, Noise Records discography and is the definitive collection of their first decade of recorded work and contains:

Endless Pain – (Swirl vinyl with original artwork & inner sleeve)
Pleasure To Kill – (Splatter vinyl with original artwork & inner sleeve)
Terrible Certainty – (Splatter vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Extreme Aggression – (Half/half vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Coma Of Souls – (Splatter vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Renewal – (Swirl vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Some Pain Will Last DVD – Containing ‘From The Vault’ mini documentary, plus two previously unreleased audio live concerts and an Andy Sneap remix of Live In East Berlin 1990
12” x 12”, 40 page hardback book of photography, quotes and lyrics from the first decade of the bands existence. Contains rare and previously unseen photos from the era.
Reproduction ‘End Of The World’ demo cassette
‘Demon’ figurine USB drive containing MP3 audio of all the expanded editions of all the albums.
All encased in an executioners, guillotine box.
The first 250 orders from the Noise Records store will also receive a signed art card by Mille Petrozza.

Also available as an introduction piece is ‘Under The Guillotine – The Noise Anthology’ – an 18 track double-vinyl collection of Kreator’s Noise era classics, pressed on splatter vinyl, including rare and unseen photos. And for the non-vinyl collectors, there will also be a 30 track 2CD version, housed in a mediabook.  Both feature rare tracks and remixes from the bands discography.

One of the most successful national bands abroad, ANGRA, released last Saturday (28th) the live video clip of the track “Black Widow´s Web”, where Sandy shows once again his metal version by joining the group. The live video that shows scenes from the filming of the tour of the last album, ‘Ømni’, held in July 2018, is already a success and has over 90 thousand views, in which it is possible to notice that the audience present cheered the singer, showing how she was very well received by the fans, surprisingly and proving that Angra made the right choice when choosing her for the partnership.

Black Widow’s Web “is part of Angra’s‘ Ømni ’album, and also features Alissa White-Gluz, lead singer of Arch Enemy.

Currently formed by Fabio Lione (vocals), Rafael Bittencourt (guitar), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar), Felipe Andreoli (bass) and Bruno Valverde (drums), the band held a live, also on Saturday (28), to announce the plans for 2021.

The first novelty is that, starting on December 12th, the band will release one song a week using the footage from the “ØMNI” tour, held in São Paulo, on Tom Brasil, for what would be the new DVD of quintet, but which unfortunately could not be launched due to technical problems in capturing the material. Along with the videos, the song will also be released on streaming platforms and possibly also on physical media.

Founder and guitarist Rafael Bittencourt also announced that Angra will relaunch the albums of the entire discography, creating special edition boxing. And to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the acclaimed album “Rebirth”, the band will hold a special tour, with guests to be announced soon. There will be 14 shows, for now, only in Brazil. DEMON HEAD Reveal Details For New Album ‘Viscera’, Launch Video For New Single

On January 29th, Demon Head will release their new album, Viscera, via Metal Blade Records. For a first preview of the record, a video for the new single, “The Triumphal Chariot of Antimony” (created by Justine Morrow aka lathe.of.heaven), can be viewed at: metalblade.com/demonhead – where Viscera can be pre-ordered in various formats.

Demon Head is comprised of five internationally based and widely acclaimed musicians; Mikkel Sander Fuglsang, Birk Gjerlufsen Nielsen, Marcus Ferreira Larsen, Thor Gjerlufsen Nielsen and Jeppe Wittus. Though hesitant to compromise the description of the music they perform through generalizing terms of genre, they’ve coined the term “diabolic rock” as an appropriate presentation.

Their fourth full-length – Viscera – is a new beginning for Demon Head. Recorded during the first months of 2020 between the legendary Sweet Silence Studios by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel, Rainbow) and a remote country house in Sweden, the album was mixed by Martin ‘Konie’ Ehrencrona (In Solitude, Tribulation, Nifelheim). The production shows the impeccable qualities of joined forces, where old techniques meet new aesthetics, and major label possibilities meet underground, uncompromising DIY dedication. The resulting 10 songs showcase acoustic instruments, flourishing mellotron strings, brass instruments, tape manipulation and church organ – displayed in equal measure to the sound of the crushing drums of J.W, cryptic guitars of brothers B.G.N and T.G.N, pounding bass lines of M.S.F, and the vocals of M.F.L combined with the eerily captivating falsetto and baryton of B.G.N.

Demon Head comments: “We are now ready to offer You ‘Viscera‘. It contains more of us than any album we have made before, and we hope that You will welcome it as sincerely as it will welcome You.”

Viscera track-listing
1. Tooth and Nail
2. The Feline Smile
3. Arrows
4. Magical Death
5. The Lupine Choir
6. A Long, Groaning Descent
7. In Adamantine Chains
8. Black Torches
9. Wreath
10. The Triumphal Chariot of Antimony

Demon Head will play a release show on January 30th at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen. “A release ceremony will take place in Copenhagen when this year is newly dead. Tokens for the passage are available here: pumpehuset.dk
