MSG released a lyric video for their first single ‘Drilled To Kill’; a heavy up-tempotrack which is also the opening song on the album. The track features the legendary PRIMAL FEAR singer Ralf Scheepers on vocals, whilst Michael Schenker and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION etc.) engage in an exciting battle of guitar vs. keyboard.

Pre-order the album here: http://nblast.de/MSG-Immortal

The album was predominantly recorded at the Kidroom Studio in Germany, with Michael‘s long time partner Michael Voss who co-produced the album and also sings on two tracks. The cover artwork of  „Immortal“ wascreated by Zsofia Dankova(POWERWOLF etc.).

„Immortal“ will continue the tradition of the previous two MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST records „Resurrection“ and „Revelation“ featuring a big list of friends and guests. The album’s main vocalist will be uprising Chilean born talent Ronnie Romero (RAINBOW etc.), along with Michael Voss (MAD MAX etc.), Ralf Scheepers(PRIMAL FEAR) and Joe Lynn Turner (ex-DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW etc.) singing on two tracks each. Besides Michael Schenker himself, the album was recorded with Steve Mann  (keyboards), Barry Sparks (bass, DOKKEN etc.), as well as the three drummers Bodo Schopf, Simon  Philipps (ex-TOTO) and Brian Tichy (ex-WHITESNAKE). The newest addition to the record is keyboard player Derek Sherinian (ex-DREAM THEATER, ex-KISS etc.), who plays on the album’s opening track, featuring German power machine Ralf Scheepers on vocals.

„Immortal“ will feature ten tracks, including the magnum opus “In Search Of The Peace Of Mind”. „I wrote this song when I was 15 years old, it was my first ever written piece of music which I recorded with SCORPIONS on our first studio album „Lonesome Crow“ in 1970, getting released in 1972. We re-recorded this song for my 50th anniversary as a celebration and it turned out to be an epic; with an extra extension at the end of the song, which turned out absolutely fantastic with Simon Phillips on drums, doing his usual amazing stuff.“ The result is a true highlight and features even more surprises: „Gary Barden sings the first verse,  continued by Ronnie Romero – and in the end we have Ronnie, Doogie White and Robin McAuley screaming their heads off, as a tribute to my 50th anniversary. Absolute amazing. Thanks to the guys for doing this!“

The limited first edition of this upcoming MSG album will feature another unique extra: „It will include the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST – Bang Your Head – Blu-ray, which was recorded during our headline show in Balingen/Germany two years ago: Unfixed, raw, pure and great! There’s a couple of small mistakes, but because the show and recording went so well, I decided to keep it the way it went on the night. It’s live, magic and pure.“

The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) last night presented Seattle rock icons ALICE IN CHAINS with its 14th Annual Founders Award, an honor given to artists who have made outstanding contributions to popular music.

Today the museum, along with Amazon Music, announced the release of MoPOP Founders Award Honoring Alice In Chains: A Benefit for the Museum of Pop Culture, a brand-new Amazon Originals compilation. Available for streaming only on Amazon Music, the compilation features highlights from last night’s performances, including Mastodon’s cover of “Again;” City and Colour’s take on “Rain When I Die;” two covers of “Would?” by KORN and Metallica; a rendition of “Man In the Box” by Dave Navarro, Taylor Hawkins, Corey Taylor, and Chris Chaney; and more. The compilation also features performances of “Your Decision” and “No Excuses” by Alice In Chains.

The Founders Award event serves as the nonprofit museum’s principal annual fundraiser for youth development programs, access initiatives, community engagement, and world-class exhibitions. So far the celebration has raised more than $600,000 and counting, attracting more than 275,000 views online throughout the evening.

“It was an amazing evening honoring Alice In Chains and raising a tremendous amount to support our nonprofit institution.” said MoPOP Executive Director Alexis Lee. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the artists who participated as well as our generous supporters who are funding our efforts to serve our community, reach young people, and preserve our shared pop culture history during this difficult time.”

Alice In Chains was thrilled to be honored and, upon receiving the award, Jerry Cantrell said, “This band started 33 years ago, three and a half miles down the road in Ballard… it’s a pretty amazing journey that we’re still on. There are so many great artists and friends who have contributed shout-outs and performances — it’s been a really cool experience and William, Sean, Mike, and I would like to thank everybody. And, as we accept these awards, we want to remember our bandmates as well, Layne Staley and Mike Starr. Wow, what a night!””

Listeners can access the compilation album simply by asking, “Alexa, play the MoPOP Founders Award album” in the Amazon app for iOS and Android and on Alexa-enabled devices. Amazon Music listeners are always able to access hundreds of Amazon Originals featuring both emerging and established artists across numerous genres, available to stream only on the service.

This year’s celebration was broadcast virtually on Amazon Music’s Twitch Channel and featured performances by award recipients Alice In Chains, as well as tribute performances from Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Dallas Green (City and Colour), Fishbone, Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), KORN, Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, Mad Season), Ann Wilson, Duff McKagan (Guns n’ Roses), Mastodon, Metallica, Dave Navarro, Krist Novoselic (Nirvana, Giants in the Trees), Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden/Pearl Jam), Nancy Wilson, and the debut musical performance of Lily Cornell Silver (daughter of Chris Cornell and Susan Silver), among many others. The event also featured appearances from members of Pearl Jam, Sammy Hagar, Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave), Les Claypool, Robert Downey Jr., and many more.

The event also featured performances by artists from MoPOP’s 21-and-under music showcase and competition Sound Off!, including Katyrose Jordan, The Human Missile Crisis, David’s Van, and Talaya.

Hardcore Titans TERROR Surprise Fans With ‘Sink To The Hell’ Rare Tracks EP

Los Angeles hardcore titans TERROR surprise fans with Sink To The Hell, a four-track 7″ including four previously unreleased tracks. The record is available TODAY via WAR Records and is streaming in its entirety.

With over fifteen hard years of unwavering dedication laid down behind them, Los Angeles’ TERROR returns with another testament to the faith that they have avowed to keep.

Soon after the lockdown in March 2020 due to the global pandemic, TERROR began to look through their archives for lost and forgotten material to shed new light on with the aim of staying engaged with the people that have kept the band alive for so many years. The four songs that appear on Sink To The Hell were found in the following months and WAR Records is now happy to be able to release them as part of the complete TERROR story. Following an extremely limited run of lathe-cut singles, Sink To The Hell compiles these four tracks into one brutal and succinct release.

“Sink To The Hell” and “The New Beginning” were resurrected from the Live By The Code sessions, “Don’t Need Your Time” is from the Keepers Of The Faith demo sessions – with new vocals recorded in 2020 to complete the track and featuring Jesse Barnett of Stick To Your Guns – and “You Lost All Respect” is also from the Keepers Of The Faith demo sessions with updated drums, additional guitars, and vocals.

Vocalist Scott Vogel offers, “I guess all this time off left TERROR some time to dig into our past and find some gems that never really saw the light of day. WAR Records originally released each of these four tracks individually as very limited lathe cut seven-inches, we decided to put them all on one vinyl EP so everyone that wanted one would have that chance to get these songs.”

With over a decade’s worth of relentless touring and tested and true convictions, this record solidifies why TERROR sits at the top of the heap while so many of their contemporaries have crumbled.

Completed with artwork by Artwork by Linas Garsys (American Nightmare, Ceremony, World Be Free), Sink To The Hell is now available via WAR Records digitally and on 7″ vinyl in a variety of variants: Green Hell (limited to 425), Silkscreened Cover/Hand Numbered (limited to 100), Teal Blue (WAR Records Exclusive limited to 200), Highlighter Yellow (RevHQ exclusive limited to 200), and Gold (Coretex exclusive limited to 200).

Sink To The Hell Track Listing:

  1. Sink To The Hell
  2. Don’t Need Your Time (featuring Jesse Barnett)
  3. The New Beginning
  4. You Lost All Respect

AD INFINITUM Release Video For New Acoustic Single “Demons”

As the penultimate song on Chapter I Revisited, “Demons” arises as another emotional and intense performance by AD INFINITUM’s multifaceted vocalist Melissa Bonny, accompanied by harmonic instrumentals while presenting the anthemic character in the chorus. Light as a feather, Melissa gently whispers moments of the lyrics before setting the stage for the second single’s grand finale, taken from the new acoustic album, Chapter I Revisited, to be released digitally this Friday, December 4 via Napalm Records!

AD INFINITUM on “Demons”:
“Look what the advent calendar offers you today! We are happy and proud to share the music video and single “Demons” before we can finally introduce you to Chapter I Revisited out on Friday!”

Enjoy the Video for the Acoustic Version of “Demons” HERE!

Symphonic metal alliance AD INFINITUM have reimagined their spellbinding debut album, Chapter I: Monarchy, with Chapter I Revisited – a very special acoustic version of their first full-length! The quartet, fronted by inimitable vocalist Melissa Bonny, has impressively attired the ten songs on Chapter I Revisited as an acoustic arrangement, showcasing how beautifully hits like “Marching On Versailles” (with more than 1.2 million views on YouTube) or “See You In Hell”, amongst others, magically unfold in a more instrumentally-organic environment.

Surrounded by gentle guitar playing, the originally dark symphonic metal album transforms to lightness throughout the harmonic approach of instruments. Melissa Bonny’s impressive vocal power shines like a bright star in the dark sky and manages to shake the firmament despite the acoustic background, notedly expressed as the powerful growls in “Maleficent” break through the silent surrounding.

Pre-Order your Digital Version of Chapter I Revisited HERE

Melissa Bonny on Chapter I Revisited:“After the release of Chapter I: Monarchy, we received very positive feedback concerning the acoustic bonus tracks. This summer, when we realized that we would probably not tour at all this year, we decided to create something special for the people who support us. We revisited and re-recorded our Chapter I entirely, and gave it a brand new atmosphere. Please welcome Chapter I Revisited!”

Chapter I Revisited Tracklist:
1. Infected Monarchy
2. Marching On Versailles
3. Maleficent
4. See You In Hell
5. I Am The Storm

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT, featuring former members of Children Of Bodom, have signed an official worldwide (excl. Japan) contract with premier Austrian rock and metal label Napalm Records.

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT – Alexi, Daniel, Mitja, Waltteri – say:
“We are far beyond thrilled to start working with Napalm Records. We feel that they can provide the best possible temple for a boulder called BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT to roll over all the archeologists who claim that metal music is on the brink of extinction. Since the world is more or less in a stand still state right now, we are spending all the time we’d normally spend on the road making new music. Our new family at Napalm is giving us the liberty to make music that you can bang your head to very soon.”

Thomas Caser, Managing Director Napalm Records adds:
“Welcome BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT. I have been following the career of Alexi Laiho since the first COB albums and have always been a huge fan. It’s needless to say that we are delighted to finally work with such a talent and we cannot wait for the first bits of music to be unleashed to the metal world. This will be BIG!”

After nearly three decades, ten studio full-lengths, two live albums, hundreds of concerts, a Gold certification and many chart-breaking successes, legendary Finnish export Children Of Bodom closed one section and opened another thrilling brand new chapter in their musical career – carrying their well-known spirit and adding some exciting new elements. Vocalist Alexi Laiho and guitarist Daniel Freyberg have joined forces with Waltteri Väyrynen (known as a drummer for Paradise Lost), Mitja Toivonen (ex-Santa Cruz bassist) and live keyboardist Vili Itäpelto to form the explosive new metal pillar BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT!

Named after a track on Follow the Reaper, the newly staffed supergroup already played their exclusive first live set, showcasing their inexorable musical intensity.

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT are currently working on some exciting new tunes and have entered their studio to record new material. Prepare for a  new metal era! More to come soon …

BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT on their plans for 2021:
“As most of our gigs and touring plans for 2020 got cancelled, meanwhile we’ve been working hard on our upcoming full-length album that’s supposed to see the light of the day in late 2021. To make the wait a little easier we want to give a treat to our fans and announce that we’ve just finished the recordings for two brand new bone-crushing and neck-breaking BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT songs! Needless to say we’re absolutely thrilled about this and we can guarantee there’s killer stuff coming up your way! Cheers and stay tuned for more info!”

ACCEPT’s Wolf Hoffmann: “I was Sad & Heartbroken when Peter Baltes left but the show must go on”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on December 2, 2020
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: accept, The Metal Voice, wolf hoffmann. Leave a comment

Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently spoke to Accept’s co-founder  and  guitarist  Wolf Hoffmann about the bands upcoming studio album ‘Too Mean to Die’ which will be released January 15 2021 via Nuclear Blast Records.

During the chat Hoffmann also gave his  thoughts on the departure of Peter Baltes, the influence of Eddie Van Halen and revisited the legacy of Accept’s classic albums Restless and Wild and Balls to the Wall

When asked about  the making and style of new Accept studio album  ‘Too Mean to die’
“Brand new songs in the traditional form of Accept and better than ever. It’s got a whole bunch of stuff on it which surprised a lot of the people. I have heard  comments from people that say it reminds them a little bit of the Blood of the Nations album as far as the vibe is concerned. Another comment I got was there is a lot of surprising variety on this album. When we started recording and writing the songs we never had a goal or a plan of what we are trying to achieve that we must do this or do that, we just basically followed where the songs took us and that kind of shaped the album in the end. “

What were the pros and cons of releasing an album during a pandemic
“Ask me again in three months and I will tell you of how good of an idea it was (laughs). We don”t know when everything is going to go back to normal, if ever, so how long do you postpone everything? Is it really such a good idea to let the album just sit there in the archives until day X which may or not be anytime soon or is it better to give the fans now so they can at least enjoy the music and when the day comes we will see each other on tour again. In a weird way this might actually help album sales because people don’t have to buy concert tickets because they can’t, maybe more people will buy the album ? “

When asked about the absence of long time bassist Peter Baltes
“It was a little strange for me I was kind of heartbroken and sad when it happened but at the end of the day what are you going to do, you have to keep on moving, the show must go on. We got a great new guy on bass his name is Mark Motnik and he actually contributed quite a bit to this album, songwriting wise which really surprised me in a good way. I miss Peter but it has been two years and the ship rolls on what can you do.

When asked if Eddie Van Halen influenced by his guitar playing
“At the end of the day he influenced everybody, anyone who heard him was blown away. He opened up a whole new chapter for every guitar player but I personally was never really influenced by him I was more drawn to Ritchie Blackmore and Uli Jon Roth and other players with a little more of the classical European style of playing.”

ACCEPT’s lineup has also been expanded with the addition of a third guitarist, Philip Shouse, who originally filled in for Uwe Lulis during last year’s “Symphonic Terror” tour, before being asked to join the band permanently.

“Too Mean To Die” was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with British producer Andy Sneap (JUDAS PRIEST, MEGADETH), who has been responsible for the magnificent studio sound of ACCEPT since 2010.
