ZENITH MOON Release Official Video for ‘Illuminate’

Melbourne Australia’s ZENITH MOON have created quite a stir over the last few months by releasing 3 critically acclaimed singles Going Under,  Gypsy and Fight For Me via Golden Robot Records.

Zenith Moon’s latest single, Illuminate is a run in with self-doubt. When doubt settles in, the very things that give you joy can become your greatest nightmare. Illuminate is about seeing your way through the darkness.

Drawing from indie-rock and dream-pop, Illuminate is as soft as the rising sun. With a groove built upon African cross rhythms, Andie (drums/keys) throws his full musical weight behind the kit, making every note heavy with emotion. Kalliope (vocals) is powerful yet beautifully intimate in her performance and Matt (guitars) juxtaposes beautiful colour and an emotive rawness that delicately draws you in.

An unmistakably powerful offering, Illuminate is the swan song of doubt, one that will settle under your skin for a long time to come.

Stream/buy Illuminate HERE

ZENITH MOON is the collaborative efforts of fretboard nomad Matt (guitar), astrologically colliding with Kahli (vocals) and Andie (drums). All three bring a different influence to the table: Kahli lifts smooth vocals straight from the late Mrs Franklin then smashes it with 70’s rock, 90’s RnB and modern pop, Andie brings the drum kit to the forefront with dizzyingly sensational rhythms spawned by progressive rock and jazz fusion, and Matt ties things together with soulful licks – his roots are grown all the way to depths of blues (with a scenic detour or two via Pink Floyd).

The one thing that unites them all is a motivating desire to express themselves as honestly as they know how. They’re here to lighten the mood, make you cry, make you dance, and most of all, make you nod your head up and down while you say “Mmmm, that’s the stuff.”

Belgian dark metal outfit EMPTINESS are now revealing the very first track of their upcoming full length, ‘Vide,’ which is due on February 12, 2021! The album artwork and track list can be found below. The new offering, ‘L’ailleurs,’ can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

EMPTINESS comments on the track: “The Thing was born in a world to which It does not seem to belong. No straight lines, logic has no meaning. Life is the natural enemy. With no ill intent, the Thing both feeds, and is fed by death. Beyondness, ‘L’ ailleurs,’ is on its way.“

The new album is completely produced by vocalist/bass player Jérémie Bézier, who is trying to create something authentic and avoid all external energies. The tracking mostly happenened during  the Belgian lockdown, in his apartment and rooftop 7th floor in Brussels. Pre-orders are now available HERE.

The cover artwork for ‘Vide’ was created by guitar player Olivier Lomer.

Track-list
1. Un corps à l’abandon (4:16)
2. Vide, incomplet (4:12)
3. Le mal est chez lui (3:42)
4. Le sévère (0:30)
5. Ce beau visage qui brûle (3:39)
6. Détruis‐moi à l’amour (4:34)
7. Plus jamais (6:21)
8. L’erreur (4:31)
9. On n’en finit pas (4:14)
10. L’ailleurs (7:33)

The shape-shifting Belgian quartet EMPTINESS returns with ‘Vide,’ their first new album in four years. ‘Vide’ (the French word for empty) sees the band veer away from the mechanical foreboding of 2017’s ‘Not For Music’ into a more introspective and deconstructed direction. It unfolds like a fever dream, with each track falling into hazy rhythmic patterns and featuring haunting vocals that hang in the ether.

Founded in Europe’s center of gravity, Brussels (BE), in the year 1998, EMPTINESS embarked on their musical journey with a burning vision to delve deep into darkness and horror. While the band was taking musical inspiration from different extreme styles such as black and death metal, the Belgians approached the music in an open minded manner of continuous experimentation.

Following their inception, EMPTINESS first released the two demos ‘Eternal Rising’ (2000) and ‘Necrorgy’ (2002) that received a remarkable welcome in the underground. Yet with each new album, ‘Guilty to Exist’ (2004), ‘Oblivion’ (2007), ‘Error’ (2012), and ‘Nothing but the Whole’ (2014), the Belgians were also increasingly leaving a mark in mainstream music press.

EMPTINESS scored the devil’s luck and won the perfect production set-up to create new sinister soundscapes during the recordings of ‘Not For Music’ in 2017. After recording in their own Blackout Studio, the Belgians received an invitation to further enhance the production of ‘Not for Music’ by Jeordie White aka Twiggy Ramirez (MARILYN MANSON, A PERFECT CIRCLE, NINE INCH NAILS). The final mix and mastering was done by Sean Beavan (GUNS N’ ROSES, NIN, SLAYER).

‘Vide’ (2021) was meant as a claustrophobic album, a journey of an infinite mind stuck into a world too small. Questioning the essence of once perceptions, this album invites you to rethink your grasp of reality. To that end, it was important for EMPTINESS to be isolated during its experimentations. Recordings would take place sometimes in confined spaces like apartments or a cabin in the woods, and sometimes on a city roof allowing to contemplate a strange human world from above. Involvement was strictly limited to the band members who took care of all audio production and visuals work. The pandemic and lockdown happened while recording was in progress; a materialization of the imaginary world being created. The album either by coincidence or not, is in tune with our dissonant times.

Manchester based DIRTY LACES are a down and out rock ‘n’ roll outfit who hit you with crunching and hypnotic guitars, huge drum fills and a sound that echoes the likes of The Cult and Led Zeppelin meshed with a Libertines-esque vibe. Their new single These Days is out now via Golden Robot Records.

“These Days is a song about the times we now live in, along with the history of class struggle and the rise and fall of empires and how that’s relevant to what we’re experiencing now. The song was written just after a long stint in isolation and was fuelled by the emotion that comes with long periods without social interaction and the things you take for granted. Most of the media we were consuming at the time was very negative and bleak and painted a picture of the mess that the UK was in.  But there has always been struggle and resistance towards power in history. It’s obviously not a new thing” – DIRTY LACES.

DIRTY LACES have been making an impact on the Manchester music scene for a few years. Delivering a high octane, punk tinged sound, blended with some of the legendary UK Classic Rock influences, DIRTY LACES hit you with heavy riffs and addictive melodies, that produces powerful Mancunian rock’n’roll with a dirty garage edge.

Stream/buy These Days HERE

Striding between the Cotton Mills of North Manchester, Dirty Laces bring hypnotic rhythms, piercing riffs and a natural grasp for melody.

They are comfortable in their own skin and unafraid to take risks. Bolstered by the music they were raised on, Dirty Laces encapsulate the true spirit of rock & roll with their uncompromising song-crafting and passion that oozes in their live performances.

The band have gone from strength to strength selling out multiple shows in their hometown and building a fan-base the old school way, relentlessly shaking venues in the UK with their explosive set.

Invited to support their hero Peter Doherty on more than one occasion, along with sitting comfortably on multiple major festival lineups, the future is definitely bright for Dirty Laces.

Following up on their last single Back on the Line. Dirty Laces returned to the legendary Parr Street studios to record their latest single You. Since its release, the psychedelic rock anthem has been praised by BBC Radio 6’s Chris Hawkins, described as a blend of Led Zeppelin and The Verve with a fresh contemporary edge.

Reigning as one of the most well-known and highly critically acclaimed experimental instrumental groups out there with a respected musical legacy spanning nearly 20 years, Irish four-piece GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT will reach a career benchmark upon the release of their 10th studio album, Ghost Tapes #10 (out February 12, 2021 via Napalm Records).

Along with an artful black and white music video (by Chariot Of Black Moth), the hypnotizing first offering “Burial” captivates with atmospheric yet melancholic, bewitching instrumental lines, and GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT’s full extent of power. The seven-minute piece showcases the band’s unique ability to explore plaintive wistfulness and shuddering riffs, forming a perfect storm whilst also creating intense sonic-spheres that are second to none.

Pre-Order the new album NOW

Ghost Tapes #10 is certainly the most ferocious GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT full-length to date – it still retains all the rich musical and emotive elements the band is known for by wheeling around luminance, but offering its harsh and deep reminiscences as well. Works of art like “Burial”, “In Flux” and “Barren Trees”, with additional guitars by Jimmy Scanlan, amongst others are proof of these creations of sound. The album’s closer, the atmospheric “Luminous Waves”, captivates in a trance-like mindset – putting one deeply in touch with their inner self, drifting away to stirring tunes of guest cello virtuoso Jo Quail.

The artwork was illustrated by David Rooney, who has worked with the band in the past, and plays into the sense of the foreboding and uncertain times we live in. Ghost Tapes #10 will be available as a four-page digipack as well as in multiple limited LP options.

Tracklisting:
1. Adrift
2. Burial
3. In Flux
4. Spectres
5. Fade
6. Barren Trees
7. Luminous Waves
