ASPHYX Launch First Single And Video “Botox Implosion” From Upcoming Album

Legendary Dutch Death Doom Elite ASPHYX have recently announced their new, 10th full studio album “Necroceros” for worldwide release on January 22nd, 2021 via Century Media Records.

Today, ASPHYX are pleased to reveal the album’s first single “Botox Implosion”, which can be checked out in a video filmed by Maurice Swinkels / Younique Film (Legion Of the Damned, Exodus, Kataklysm, etc.) HERE!

ASPHYX frontman Martin van Drunen checked in about the song and its video as follows: “ We actually wanted to film this on Sunset Boulevard LA, where most of the pathetic subjects of this song have their residence, but due to the pandemic it was best not to fly over to the USA. So since it’s a fast shredding and written in the typical humorous death metal gore tradition track, we put a few laughable elements in it. Fortunately good old Turock in Essen was so friendly to let us film there and where we’re usually not that keen on shooting videos, with this one we had quite some fun. Still, it is a helluva brutal tune!”

“Necroceros” was recorded at Tom Meier’s Tom Meier Studio as well as at Paul Baayens’ The Mörserstudio and then finally mixed/mastered by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann at Greenman Studios. The album once again features front cover artwork by Axel Hermann and contains the following tracklisting:

ASPHYX – “Necroceros”:

ALDO NOVA Announces New Band Lineup And Plans For Large Scale Virtual Live Show In 2021 With Full Production

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 6, 2020

ALDO NOVA announces his new band lineup which features, Aldo Nova, guitars and vocals, Jack Frost, (ex-Seven Witches-Savatage) guitars and vocals, (ex-Stryper, Of Gods and Monsters and Stormer), bass and vocals, Billy Carmassi (Aldo Nova band 1982 to 2020-Jet Red and brother of Denny Carmassi) on drums and a keyboard player, whose name cannot be disclosed yet but he also has an amazing pedigree, extremely well know and is a monster player, when they begin touring as soon as the lockdowns are lifted due to COVID permit it and things get back to normal.

In Aldo’s words, “Between me, Tim Gaines and Billy Carmassi, we were already quite a unit, but when Jack joined the band, it was as if he was the detonator that made us an Atomic Bomb of a band.” He also says that “When Jack joined the band, I felt a completely new energy, and when Billy and Tim met him digitally, they both agreed that he was our guy and we’re eager to go out and literally destroy, which is the mindset that we, as a band, have when we will play live.”

Nova also announced his plans to do a large full-scale production virtual live show in 2021, and when he says large scale production, he means a full lighting rig over a large stage with one of the leading lighting designers in Canada, Pierre E. Roy, with video directed and edited by Christian Jacques who did Aldo’s videos for, “I’m a Survivor”, “When All is Said and Done” and his “Monkey on Your Back, live band-Livestream COVID 19 session.

Nova doesn’t really think that the drive-in shows that everybody claims to be the only way to play live is a good thing for his fans. In his words, “Who wants to go see a band with 5 people crammed in a car listening to the show on their FM radios and not being able to see anything is certainly not the solution, nor the future of Rock. Anyway, I’m from Canada where the winters are brutal so it’ll never work in Canada, nor will it work in the Northern States, so half of your fans can’t see you play when you’re on tour.

Nova plans on doing his virtual live show doing a 3 and ½ hour set playing his albums in their entirety and in the sequence of the album, so as he says, “While most bands play their shows then walk off without playing their hits and waiting for the audience to cheer and clap till they come back to do their hit, which he calls the “cheap shot”, he does things in an entirely different way because as he says, “We on the other hand, we’ll start the show with “Fantasy“ because it’s the first track on side one of the first album.”. He intends to play songs from all his albums, even 6 songs from his rare and obscure instrumental album, “Nova’s Dream” which is considered to be one of his best albums and ending finally with his new Rock Opera, “The Life and Times of Eddie Gage,”

Also, his virtual show is modeled after Dana White’s UFC fight cards, which is, you pay one price of admission and you can have as many people watching it as you want, as he puts it, “Turn it into a party or a family night, sitting in front of your big screen T.V. with the sound system as loud as you want with everybody having a front-row seat, get a beer, play air guitar, dance, and jokingly he says when we play “Ball and Chain,” you can even make out.

Watch out because 2021 is going to be a year full of surprises with new cutting edge ways to entertain fans from Aldo Nova.

Australia’s hottest up and coming punk act THE KIDS, have dropped their latest single Go Back To Canberra via Riot Records.

The Kids don’t hold back on Go Back To Canberra, it’s a furious, angst and frustration ridden punk anthem. Go Back To Canberra is going to elevate The Kids to the next level – musically it shows a huge growth in maturity, and lyrically it dives into the real social issues of Australia’s capital city. Punk rock has delivered some of music’s most powerful messages and the best political punk tracks have retained their relevance. Go Back To Canberra is set the join that list.

“The tragic tale of Australia’s national broken home. Discussing the dysfunctional ins and outs of its community. No disturbing details spared, all brutal truth and no filter. An evil tune that can mean anything to anybody.”
– THE KIDS

Stream/buy Go Back To Canberra HERE

The Kids are a dirty punk hardcore band from Sydney, Australia, made from 4 grimy teenagers, who all express their angst and anger through their music.

Each member is 17 years old but they play music more aggressively and hard hitting than anybody, all with the intent to pi*s you off and shock. They are leading the Aussie underground punk scene at the moment with quite a following of angry teenagers and adults just like them.

The Kids draw influences from late greats and new-comers like Dead Kennedy’s, Green Day, Pennywise, Frenzal Rhomb, RATM, Nirvana, Descendents, Black Flag and plenty more.

They are reinventing punk rock for the new generation so kids like themselves can grow the guts to stand for what they wanna stand for, simple as that. The Kids only want to say “f*ck you” in the politest way possible.

KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD BAND Release New Video ‘Diamonds & Gold’ From Upcoming ‘Straight To You: Live’ Album

KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD BAND will release their new album ‘Straight To You: Live’ on November 27th, via Provogue Records.

Watch the video for Diamonds & Gold here:

Kenny Wayne Shepherd:
“Diamonds & Gold is one of my favorite songs from our 2017 release “Lay It On Down”. To me it has all the right elements. A thick groove, hooky guitar riffs and chorus, the horns… everything comes together to create a song that makes you feel good with a bit of humor in the lyrics.”

The calls have been coming for a long time explains Shepherd.  “People have been asking us to do a live DVD forever, for decades,” he explains. “We’ve been working so much focussing on studio recordings. But I’ve been hearing the call from the fans for many years now,” and, as live music has come to a standstill, the band wanted to give the fans a taste once again of that experience and this blistering set shows them in full force.

Their only other live output, the ’Live! In Chicago’ album was released a decade ago and got itself a Grammy nomination along the way, but this time around for 2020, you get to watch the band in its full glory as well as listen. In the last 10 years the multi-platinum selling Shepherd has gone from strength to strength, winning countless awards, releasing four studio albums and touring the world over several times – from Brazil to Europe, India to Canada and US to Australia and beyond.

The seven-piece band took the stage and immediately launched into their most-recent hit-single ‘Woman Like You,’ with the honey-soaked powerhouse voice of Noah Hunt blasting “I ain’t looking for a one time girl” backed by the fiery fretwork of Shepherd. It’s the first of four songs taken from the latest studio album, “‘Woman Like You’ is the perfect opening song for the show,“ Shepherd says. “You come out swinging, it sets the mood for the entire show. It’s like, we’re there to rock, and we mean business.”

“The whole intention of this set-list is that we come out with a lot of energy, get the crowd pumped up. We want to get them energised right off the bat.” It slips into the soul-drenched blues of ‘Long Time Running,’ with Chris Layton’s drums firing through the building horn section as Hunt and Shepherd lock-in on duel vocals, whilst blue and yellow lights spray the stage, catapulting you right to the front row of the audience.

Woman Like You (Live)
Mr. Soul (Live)
Long Time Running (Live)
I Want You (Live)

Heat Of The Sun (Live)
Down For Love (Live)
