GHØSTKID Release Video For “YØU & I”

GHØSTKID’s music is a headlong dive into darkness and aggression. It aligns on new paradigms: baring its teeth while keeping a sense for catchy melodies.

GHØSTKID is the new namesake of Sebastian “Sushi“ Biesler (formerly Eskimo Callboy) and a conspiracy of friends and likeminded allies who have come to a riot of their own: Steve Joakim (drums) from Sweden as well as Danny Güldener (guitar) and Stanislaw Czywil (bass), both of whom played in To The Rats And Wolves.

Today marks the release of the next song and video taken from their self-titled debut album, click here for “YØU & I (Official Video)”:

GHØSTKID comments: “’YØU & I’ is probably the most personal track on the record and based on a true story. It’s the story about a close person who is in a coma… It seems like you can’t really do anything, but somehow you’ve got a connection and it really feels like you are facing all of this together. I strongly believe that being there and letting someone feel that he or she is not alone definitely has an impact. The video is a metaphoric walk through the “coma world“. It’s about finding a way out of it together, about support and about help. Sometimes this is all what we need to make it through tough times… to know that we’re not alone.“

Yet again the video was produced by GHØSTKID and Mirko Witzki with visual effects coming from Timo Krahl.

Like all songs previously released “YØU & I” is taken from GHØSTKID’s self-titled debut album that was co-produced by Phil Sunday and produced by renowned producer Sky van Hoff (Rammstein, Emigrate etc.) and that is scheduled for a release on November 13th, 2020.

DEATH DEALER led by ROSS THE BOSS has issued a second track, “Running with the Wolves,” as a preview of their forthcoming 3rd record, CONQUERED LANDS – to be released worldwide November 13, 2020, through STEEL CARTEL. A video for the track has also been released, which can be viewed here:

DEATH DEALER has an all-star heavy metal roster featuring the aforementioned ROSS THE BOSS (ex-MANOWAR) Sean Peck: vocals (CAGE, THE THREE TREMORS, DENNER/SHERMANN), Stu Marshall: guitar (DUNGEON, NIGHT LEGION), Steve Bolognese: drums (ROSS THE BOSS BAND, INTO ETERNITY), and newly added bass player extraordinaire Mike Lepond (SYMPHONY-X, ROSS THE BOSS BAND).

Ross: “‘Conquered Lands’ has a lot of heavy fast stuff on it but this song really has a rocking vibe and  great energy.  It is one of my personal favorites on our new record.”

Sean: “It is always a challenge to decide what songs to do videos for when you are promoting a record. I dig the hook on it and it is a fun song about being in Death Dealer. I always like bands that do songs about kicking ass. I was cracking myself up as I wrote the lyrics. It goes back to the KISS days I would say even.”

Stu: “We had a ton of footage from that great tour and the video captures the crazy energy we generate at these shows and how the crowd reacts to the band and our songs. I am really looking forward to playing these new songs of ‘Conquered Lands’ live eventually.”

The ‘Conquered Lands’ pre-order page for has some great bundle packages available here: http://www.deathdealermetal.com/store.html

The DEATH DEALER sound mixes classic heavy metal with elements of thrash, power, and epic stylings, all wrapped around powerful choruses that compel the listener to sing along at the top of their lungs with fists held high in the air. The album’s lead-off track, “Sorcerer Supreme,” can be heard here: https://youtu.be/Sxu1dqPOxC0.

Their debut album, WARMASTER, was met with critical acclaim and led them to an arena tour opening slot in Europe and parts of Asia.  Their follow up album, HALLOWED GROUND, continued where they left off and quickly helped them build a loyal fanbase aided by their headlining tour in Europe

DEATH DEALER will be supporting their new release with touring and festival appearances in the future.

NUCLEAR POWER TRIO Launch Video For Single “Grab ‘Em by the Pyongyang”, Debut Album Out Now

As the Earth of 2020 continues to revolve in a puzzling singularity, three of the world’s most powerful men have harnessed their collective capabilities for nuclear and musical power into a quest for world peace: Nuclear Power Trio. Today (October 30th), this trio of explosive musicians/ personalities have unleashed their debut EP, A Clear and Present Rager. They also took time away from their duties of state to film a video for the track “Grab ‘Em by the Pyongyang”, which can be viewed here:

Stream the EP in full and purchase your copy now at: metalblade.com/nuclearpowertrio

A Clear and Present Rager was recorded in Denver, Colorado by Dave Otero at Flatline Audio. “Frankly, a lot of power trio recordings are just pathetic. We thought about records we all liked sonically and kept coming back to ‘Cattle Decapitation‘, so it was terrific that Dave had us all out to beautiful Colorado to golf and record,” stated Donald. Kimmy added, “Dave pushed me hard, because he is a most supreme drummer. He has excellent preamps, and he is swift and cunning with his suggestions for excellency.”

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un are certainly uncommon names when discussing potential supergroups, but in keeping on the surreal path of the ever-distorting world, they were destined to come together. The groundwork for several songs emerged from a single session, with cabinet members who heard the demos remarking that after listening they felt immediately more centered and ready to navigate the world. Donald, Vlad, and Kim’s efficiency working together spoke volumes to the value of utilizing a musical platform in place of a political one to invoke real change.

When asked about the group’s audacious goal of peace through music, Vlad said, “We want to sow seeds of bipartisanship, of compassion, and of empathy through our music,” to which Donny added, “I completely agree with Vlad, we have to unite the left and right hand of our world into a handshake. You know you’ve got great hands in the world, so many hands…the best hands from all over the planet. We’ve got to get them in the air throwing horns at us at a festival, not throwing fists at each other. Nobody else can do that but us, and they’ve tried, believe me.” Kimmy concurred with the groups sentiments after a lengthy digression expressing his desire to “hang with famous basketball players”.

The EP’s October release is set immediately before the United States presidential elections, a timely moment to catalyze a bold and conscientious path towards world peace. Our world has seen more than enough conflict. If there’s a chance at unity, if there’s a chance to turn gnarly riffage into a better society, then it’s a chance that must be taken. These three leaders are no strangers to stopping at nothing to get what they want – and they want peace. The unknown future rolls toward us, but we face it, for the first time, with a sense of hope. If these three men, these world leaders of differing views and morals, can learn the value of a peaceful existence on Earth through music, maybe we can too.

A Clear and Present Rager track-listing
1. A Clear and Present Rager
2. Grab ‘Em by the Pyongyang
3. The Fusion Collusion
4. Ukraine in the Membrane
5. Mutually Assured Seduction

Mascot Records Release ‘Christmas Rocks’ EP, Launch Songs By P.O.D. (Christmas Lullaby) And Crobot (What Child Is This?)

Mascot Records will release a ‘Christmas Rocks’ E.P. on 27th November 2020, launching today songs By P.O.D. (Christmas Lullaby) and Crobot (What Child Is This?).

Check out the lyric video for P.O.D.’s ‘Christmas Lullaby’ here:

You can listen to Crobot’s ‘What Child Is This?’ here:

The nights get darker, the weather gets a little crisper and twinkling lights adorn houses, trees, streets and shop windows. In the distance is the gentle jingle-jangle of bells echoing to the joyous smiles of children throughout the world and as yuletide is being toasted; hark, what is that sound we hear? Oh my, it’s P.O.D., 10 Years, Crobot, Ayreon, Otherwise, Black Stone Cherry and Dragged Under – or doth my ear deceive me?

Joyriding through stereos across the globe on 27th November, via your favourite streaming networks will be the unstoppable sound of Mascot Records’, ‘CHRISTMAS ROCKS’ E.P. But, as a little Apéritif we give you, today, songs by P.O.D. Christmas Lullaby and Crobot, What Child Is This?

P.O.D.’s beautifully poignant Christmas Lullaby is a gentle acoustic reminder of love and warmth. “Christmas Lullaby Inspires me, gives me hope during these uncertain times. It’s a positive, beautiful, Christmas vibration. Thought provoking and heart felt. It resonates from Southtown, San Diego, all the way to the North Pole,” says Marcos Curiel. This gives way to the sound of Las Vegas hard-rockers Otherwise, ripping through Chuck Berry‘s Run Rudolph Run and then into Knoxville‘s 10 Years, who create an epic and expansive version of Silent Night. Talking about the song they say; “Silent Night has always been one of our collective favorite Christmas songs. It’s a classic, and we didn’t want to stray too far from what is familiar to people, but we did try to put our own touch on it!”

Kentucky‘s favourite sons Black Stone Cherry channel their inner-Elvis Presley on their riotous Southern Rock take on Blue Christmas.  Seattle  punks Dragged Under show that you can do Christmas-catchy but heavy as they take on a different direction on This Holiday. Frontman Tony Cappocchi explains; “This Holiday is our answer to all the super happy Christmas songs that are forced on us year after year. They’re all so cheery, and bubble-gum, and the reality is that the holidays aren’t like that for everyone. A lot of people (especially this year) don’t think of the holidays as a great time. Whether they’ve lost someone, don’t have family or money, or just don’t like being around people pretending to like each other. I had skipped holidays for years while working my dead-end retail job, and I think it made me a little cold to the holidays. Especially when people come to the mall and only think about themselves while screaming at the retail worker because they didn’t have the right toy. We’ve lost the reason for the season.”

Only Crobot could turn a 19th-century hymn into a doomy Black Sabbath-esque colossus on What Child Is This? with the band saying; “With such a rippin’ roster of awesome bands, Mascot has brought us all together to help put you in the Christmas spirit! So put a bow on it and slide it under the tree! Santa, we won’t forget to leave some riffs next to your cookies. Merry Riffmas, Beardos!”

Ayreon embrace the full arsenal of festive song weaponry on ‘The Last Day Of War And The First Day Of Peace’; uplifting vocals, a beautifully infectious melody, bells and a Lennon-esque sentiment. Talking about the song Arjen Lucassen said; “I was asked to record a Christmas song, and my first thought was that it’s not really my thing. But as I thought about it, I suddenly remembered that 27 years ago in 1993, I already recorded a sort of Christmas track, but it was never used. I re-recorded the track, Lori adapted the lyrics, I made it a bit more ‘Christmassy’ and of course added the obligatory sleighbells. The coolest thing about this track is the party sounds you hear in the background. That was actually recorded in the meeting room of the record label by the whole Mascot staff! Hope you like it, ho ho ho!”

Like a mini-aural advent calendar, a little musical treat will be revealed every week on streaming services from the 29th October until 27th November, when you can gorge yourself on the whole packet.

Merry Riffmas ya filthy animal.

Supergroup SCOUR To Release “The Black” EP November 27th, ‘Doom’ Feat. Guest Appearances By Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan And Actor Jason Momoa

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 30, 2020
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SCOUR. Leave a comment

SCOUR — the extreme metal supergroup featuring Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, En Minor, et al), John Jarvis (Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Derek Engemann (Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals), Mark Kloeppel (Misery Index), and Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Lock Up) – will release their long-anticipated The Black EP on Black Friday, November 27th.

Forged in 2015, SCOUR made its debut with the ferocious single “Dispatched.” The Grey EP, released via Anselmo’s Housecore label, dropped in 2016, followed by The Red EP in 2017. Faster and tighter than ever before, this year’s The Black EP serves as the final release of the EP trilogy and is inarguably the band’s most ferocious effort to date. Mixed and mastered by Ryan Vincent at Apollo Audio Alternative with vocals and drums engineered by Stephen “Big Fella” Berrigan (Down, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Eyehategod), The Black EP includes guest appearances from Erik Rutan of Hate Eternal, Pat O’Brien of Cannibal Corpse, and actor Jason Momoa (Dune, Game Of Thrones, Aquaman, et al).

“The latest SCOUR is the best SCOUR,” proclaims Anselmo. Adds Engemann, “This is our most fierce and ripping album to date. Completing the EP trilogy, The Black EP brings a more mature musical approach without comprising the utter relentless brutality. We’ve got a few special gems as well that I’m stoked for people to hear.”

In advance of the EP’s release, today the band is pleased to offer up opening crusher, “Doom,” for public feasting. The track includes guest vocals by Jason Momoa and a guest guitar solo by Erik Rutan.

View SCOUR’s “Doom” video, created by Paul McGuire of Obscenery Films, below.

SCOUR’s The Black EP will be released on CD, LP, cassette, and digital formats via Housecore Records (North America) and Nuclear Blast Records (internationally). Find preorder options at  http://nblast.de/Scour-Black

The Black EP:

  1. Doom
  2. Nail
  3. Propaganda
  4. Flames
  5. Microbes
  6. Subprime

The sound of SCOUR can best be described as a modern reimagining of what primarily became known as black metal mixed with elements of grindcore and bits of punk and thrash. Without getting too caught up in genre classification, the result is a brand of ominously-hued, punishing minimalism that pays proper homage the the originators, without the trappings of being a “throw-back,” reimagining the lineage from primitive punk darkness into modernity. This nuanced approach was, perhaps, made crystal clear with the 2019 release of their cover of Bathory’s “Massacre.”

In its short existence, the band has graced the stages of many of the major players in both the mainstream and metal-oriented music festival circuits including Roskilde, Hellfest, Tecate Metal Festival, Maryland Deathfest, and more. As the lineage of its membership suggests, SCOUR continues to be a proverbial force with which to be reckoned both on the stage and in the studio.
