DÉLUGE Launch Video For New Single “Digue”

On November 6th, France’s DÉLUGE will release their sophomore album, Ægo Templo, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, a video for the new single, “Digue” (directed by VCR), can be viewed here:

Déluge comments: “We see life as a perpetual battle with your inner self, and ‘Digue’ (dike, breakwater) symbolizes that constant fight to stay in the bright side of life. To win this battle, we feel the necessity to embrace the dark part of it, in order to see every little glow in the darkness slowly becoming a strong flame, the need to change our perception to eventually see beauty where it is. But it is a curse and a deep weakness not being able to see beauty otherwise. The different scenes in the music video play with these emotions and the battles you fight with yourself, trying to keep yourself into the light.”

The previously released single, “Opprobre”, can be heard at: metalblade.com/deluge – where Ægo Templo can also be pre-ordered in various formats.

France has long been a fertile breeding ground for black metal, and one of its best kept secrets is Déluge, who have been kicking up a blend of that genre and post-hardcore since 2014. Dropping their debut full-length Æther in 2015, in 2020 they return with sophomore effort Ægo Templo, a more accessible record that pushes their sound in ever more imaginative directions. “I wanted to go further into something more ‘easy to listen to’, but I really did not want to lose what we had, that melancholia and the essence of our music,” states founding guitarist François-Thibaut Hordé. “It was a very interesting – and exhausting – challenge, and to me we have succeeded. We are really proud of this new record.”

Produced by François-Thibaut with assistance from engineers Thibault Chaumont/Deviant Lab studio (Igorrr, Carpenter Brut, Birds in Row) – who also mixed and mastered the album – and Amaury Sauvé / The Apiary studio who recorded the drums, Ægo Templo marks a bold step forward from their earlier recorded output. Featuring clean vocals on almost every track, keyboards and additional instruments on several songs, plus soprano saxophone on “Opprobre”, this new offering separates Déluge from their contemporaries, all the while maintaining their identity.

The band also turned to Valnoir from Metastazis Studio in Paris to once again design their artwork, and they asked several artists to guest on the record: Tetsuya Fukagawa of Japanese Screamo legends Envy adds vocals to “Gloire Au Silence”; Matthieu Metzger provides saxophone on “Opprobre”; and Hélène Muesser contributes vocals on “Abysses”, “Ægo Templo” and “Digue” – all helping to add further depths to the music.

Ægo Templo track-listing
1. Soufre
2. Opprobre
3. Abysses
4. Fratres
5. Gloire Au Silence
6. Ægo Templo
7. Baïne
8. Digue
9. Béryl
10. Vers

Even in these uncertain times, what comes next for Déluge is clear – their goals are undeniable: “We want to be touring as much as we can, spreading our bright music as much as we can, and going much further than the metal scene can offer us.”

After Ægo Templo‘s release, Déluge will head out on the road with label-mates Igorrr for a tour of France and Switzerland in December. See below for all dates!

VAGOS METAL FEST Returns In 2021, Confirmed EMPEROR, DIMMU BORGIR, TESTAMENT, EXODUS & Many More

As every live event in 2020, the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic hit the festival scene hard. Now, with faith and hope in live music to happen again next summer, Portugal’s ever-growing festival institution, VAGOS METAL FEST, returns with an eclectic band announcement for 2021, which will probably mark the festival’s heaviest and best line-up to date!

The festival will be taking place between July 29th – 31st 2021 in the unique surroundings of Vagos, which is close to Porto and the Atlantic Ocean. Alongside many postponed gigs from 2020 of acts alike UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY, TROLLFEST, ASPHYX, HIGH FIGHTER and many more, as well as mighty new names such as MY DYING BRIDE, EXODUS or CATTLE DECAPITATION, VAGOS METAL FEST has also confirmed legendary Black Metal titans EMPEROR as headliners alongside DIMMU BORGIR and TESTAMENT!

Says Luís Salgado, organiser of VAGOS METAL FEST: “Like everyone else, we are shooting without clear sight on how next year’s going to be.The only certainty that we at Amazing Events have right now is that the Music Industry cannot stop, because that would mean an irreparable blow to our Culture, especially to our so called “underground circuit”. Although the Portuguese Government’s absolute inertia on helping out artists, venues and promoters (which could be done with a well thought financial relief plan like the one implemented in the UK), we are not giving up.

And of course, we truly hope this Covid situation is solved by the time of Vagos Metal Fest 2021, because the line-up we are setting up is too good to be postponed or cancelled. A huge “thank you” to all of the great partners that stuck with us through these dark times, especially to the city of Vagos. To all of those that are suffering the consequences of this virus, we wish you well, a speedy recovery and hope that we can all restart celebrating life among our friends, family and favourite artists, as soon as possible. ”

The current line-up for VAGOS METAL FEST 2021, with many more fantastic bands to be revealed in the weeks ahead, looks as follows:

VAGOS METAL FEST is one of the biggest and best-known festivals of its kind in Portugal, bringing heavy metal favourites to the town Vagos across four days in the middle of summer.
The festival was born in 2016, and since then the organisers have consistently offered up high-energy performances from some of the scene’s heaviest hitters on a global scale, from the best and heaviest underground acts to Hammerfall, Moonspell, Satyricon, Arch Enemy, Candlemass, Soulfly, Alestorm, Jinjer or Powerwolf, to name just a few.

Let’s count the days until 2020 is over and hopefully return into a heavy and healthy, new live music year stronger than ever! Start to plan your ultimate festival trip into the sun of Portugal next summer, tickets for VAGOS METAL FEST 2021 are now available at THIS LOCATION!

Last weekend Swiss Metallers FUELED BY FEAR entered Alpha Omega Studios, in Como, to record their second album. The band has issued the first studio update:

“After the last weekend the drums are done, Phil recorded all the songs within two days. Guitars are basically finished, last touches are done after vocals. Next up; Marco hits the Studio in about 2 Weeks to add another layer of pure evil, to an already heavy as fuck base. We’re beyond excited. The work with Alessandro Azzali is amazing. It’s the first time that this Band is working with a producer like him. He made the studiotime really easy for us. We worked on all the songs and did some changes here and there.”

More details will be revealed soon.

In 2019, FUELED BY FEAR joined the Swedish death metal heroes, IN FLAMES, as main support, on their tour in St.Petersburg (April 23rd) and Moscow (April 25th)! In case you missed, check out the video clip “Born in Hell”, filmed from the shows and backstage. The song comes out from their latest EP “This Forsaken Place”, released on February 11th 2019 via Ashburn Records. SOMETHING ON 11 – Feat. Jen Majura & Alen Brentini – Release First Single + Music Video ‘Soul Suffer Payment’, Self-Titled Debut Album Out November 13th

Some equations do make sense to everybody – for example the fact that one bundle of energy combined with another will create an explosive force to live off.

The striking synergy between two live wires and top-notch musicians now emerges into a new project that couldn’t be any more energizing and uplifting: Jen Majura’s and Alen Brentini’s joint project SOMETHING ON 11 celebrates the release of its first single Soul Suffer Payment!

Blending different influences from Queen to Testament, Something On 11 manage to create their very own essence to be captured in the harbringer of their self-titled debut album that is expected to be released on the 13th of November.

Something On 11 understands itself as a middle finger to all the mainstream rules, which reflects on the first single release just perfectly. Soul Suffer Payment deals with the burden of a regular 9 to 5 worklife by utilizing the bulletproof corset of a shatter-resistant modern rock song, combined with sharp vocals contributed by Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura, who is currently on everyone’s lips with her iconic 1MIN JAMMMS series on her YouTube channel, and Alen Brentini’s punching guitar riff.

After their formation in spring of 2018, it took Something On 11 a fair while to complete the works on their attitude-loaded debut – another proof for good things indeed taking time. The album has been produced by the duo itself and features eight ass-kicking metal influenced songs that will have fans of modern hardrock and dynamics of vigorous instrumentals falling for it.

Not only should everyone brace themselves for the thunderstorm of a release that Something On 11 will bring upon us in November, but also make sure to check out their lovingly shot video for Soul Suffer Payment – a refreshing verification of the fact that creativity remains the best tool to live through tensed times.

CUESTACK & DAVID HASSELHOFF Recorded New Song ‘Through the Night’, Kickstarter Campaign Launched For Music Video + Making-Of Documentary

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 28, 2020

In 2019, Austrian metallers CUESTACK recorded a song ‘Through the Night’ with the TV icon DAVID HASSELHOFF, and to finish the epic music video and making-of documentary, the band needs now your support, so head over to our Kickstarter campaign to become an important part of this project today, HERE.

Watch the announcement video below.

THROUGH THE NIGHT is a song and cinematic music video project, starring the actor and singer David Hasselhoff and Austrian metal band CueStack. As life-long ‘Hoff’ fans, the band had the ultimate goal to create a metal project with the most-watched man on TV, showing the world his heavy side. All of this was also captured in an in-depth Making-Of documentary, both in the studio and on the video set.

The project started in 2018 and many demos were made, many meetings were held and what seemed like an impossible idea slowly turned into a reality. David finally recorded the track with CueStack in 2019 in Vienna and they also shot an ambitious music video together.

The band stated:
We, CueStack, financed the entire project by ourselves until now, to avoid giving up any creative freedom when it comes to the song and music video. The final mission: finishing the edit of the cinematic video that will accompany the song! With a limited budget and schedule, we had to shoot the entire video with David in just one day. That means we had to build much smaller versions of the sets we actually had in mind. To turn this dystopian retro Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk vision into reality, a massive post-production effort is needed now, to extend these basic sets into cinematic, futuristic, living worlds!

Your contributions go directly into financing those final steps and aside from providing digital downloads, we can also pre-order the special THROUGH THE NIGHT Box Sets for you (Digipak CD, 8-page booklet with liner notes, printed high-quality autograph card, Poster, ‘Through the Night’ baseball cap, custom leather bracelet). We also added a special T-Shirt, only available right here! With all the costs of this entire project until now, we can’t afford to just order hundreds or thousands of Box Sets or merch items without knowing how many of these we could actually ship out!

TOMORROW’S RAIN To Release New Single ‘The Weeping Song’, Feat. Orphaned Land And Draconian Members

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 28, 2020
Posted in: Int. News, News. Leave a comment

Tel Aviv’s Dark Metallers TOMORROW’S RAIN will release the 5th single from the debut album “Hollow” on November 5th.

“The Weeping Song” is the band’s special cover version of Nick Cave’s song from his album “The Good Son” (1990), Tomorrow’s Rain version featuring Featuring Anders Jacobsson (Draconian), Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land) and Lisa Cuthbert (Live Fem. Vocals of The Sisters Of Mercy) as guests.

(Video art by: Rafael Ortega)

Stating Vocalist Yishai Swearts: “Growing up in the 80’s Nick Cave was always there, an idol, his lyrics found a warm place within my heart when I was pretty young, apart from that Nick is a mentor when it comes to face traumatic events in life and carry on, heal your soul and sing your pain, Nick’s last 2 albums are pure reflection of the message we try to deliver in “Hollow”: at the end of the day we have to carry on, we have to heal ourselves and continue the journey”.

“We think that the interesting idea in a cover version is always to the take song to “your own” area, never understood bands who just played the original song as is, it’s pointless and in almost every case it’s weaker than the original, by doing a cover the idea is not to be stronger than the original but to play the original in your own language, in your own way”.

“Our dear old friend Kobi Farhi from Orphaned Land sang with me the duet, the idea was that one of us will be the father and the other will be the son, also joined in are Anders from Draconian doing growling vocals with me and Lisa Cuthbert with female voc”.

KOBI FARHI – ORPHANED LAND About our cover:
“Nick Cave is probably my favorite artist, second only to Leonard Cohen. From childhood till this day he never ceases to amaze me with his great ability to create sincere, painful art and music. I am honored to take part in a cover made for one of his classic songs, I think covers is a very tricky thing that you shouldn’t go and do so easily, but this cover definitely achieved its goal and it’s a great one!”
