Tel Aviv’s Dark Metallers TOMORROW’S RAIN will release the 5th single from the debut album “Hollow” on November 5th.

“The Weeping Song” is the band’s special cover version of Nick Cave’s song from his album “The Good Son” (1990), Tomorrow’s Rain version featuring Featuring Anders Jacobsson (Draconian), Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land) and Lisa Cuthbert (Live Fem. Vocals of The Sisters Of Mercy) as guests.

(Video art by: Rafael Ortega)

Stating Vocalist Yishai Swearts: “Growing up in the 80’s Nick Cave was always there, an idol, his lyrics found a warm place within my heart when I was pretty young, apart from that Nick is a mentor when it comes to face traumatic events in life and carry on, heal your soul and sing your pain, Nick’s last 2 albums are pure reflection of the message we try to deliver in “Hollow”: at the end of the day we have to carry on, we have to heal ourselves and continue the journey”.

“We think that the interesting idea in a cover version is always to the take song to “your own” area, never understood bands who just played the original song as is, it’s pointless and in almost every case it’s weaker than the original, by doing a cover the idea is not to be stronger than the original but to play the original in your own language, in your own way”.

“Our dear old friend Kobi Farhi from Orphaned Land sang with me the duet, the idea was that one of us will be the father and the other will be the son, also joined in are Anders from Draconian doing growling vocals with me and Lisa Cuthbert with female voc”.

KOBI FARHI – ORPHANED LAND About our cover:
“Nick Cave is probably my favorite artist, second only to Leonard Cohen. From childhood till this day he never ceases to amaze me with his great ability to create sincere, painful art and music. I am honored to take part in a cover made for one of his classic songs, I think covers is a very tricky thing that you shouldn’t go and do so easily, but this cover definitely achieved its goal and it’s a great one!”

FEUERSCHWANZ Release Official Music Video For “Hier kommt Alex”

German medieval rock masters FEUERSCHWANZ have released the official music video for the song “Hier kommt Alex” (english: Here Comes Alex). The song – originally written and performed by Die Toten Hosen – comes off their covers album Die Sieben Todsünden, the bonus to their brand new album Das Elfte Gebot which was released on June 26 and landed at #3 on the official German album charts, where it remained for 8 consecutive weeks.

Commented the band: “”In einer Welt in der man nur noch lebt, damit man täglich roboten geht…” (In a world in which you only live, so you can function every day…) This line seems depressingly real in these strange times – even though, back in 1988, Die Toten Hosen were inspired by Anthony Burgess’ novel “A Clockwork Orange” as well as the movie of the same name by Stanley Kubrick, to write this huge German rock classic! We love the song as well as the movie and its eerie message and thus put it into a medieval sound. Let’s ascend to Burg Abenberg again, harken Mieze Myus’ gentle harp before we shout: Hier kommt Alex!”

Das Elfte Gebot also includes the bonus cover album Die Sieben Todsünden (except for the CD Jewel Case Version) containing seven cover versions of songs not only by internationally acclaimed artists like Seeed and Ed Sheeran but also Rammstein, Powerwolf and Sabaton.

To celebrate the release, the band had performed an exclusive online open air at Burg Abenberg the same day. The recording can be viewed here.

Das Elfte Gebot is the successor to 2018’s Methämmer, which went straight to #6 of the German album charts.

Hamburg- based Sludge and Stoner Metal act, HIGH FIGHTER, has announced a limited Tape edition of their critically acclaimed, 2014- debut EP “The Goat Ritual“.

Recorded on one weekend in the band’s rehearsal room, HIGH FIGHTER’s first and self-released EP took the heavy music scene by storm, and gained the band not just high praise from both fans and critics alike, but also opened the stages on tours with bands alike AHAB, GREENLEAF, THE MIDNIGHT GHOST TRAIN as well as Europe’s finest underground festivals such as Sonic Blast, Stoned From The Underground, Desertfest Berlin, Red Smoke Festival and many more. During the past 6 years, the band continued to heavily tour Europe with acts such as CONAN, DOWNFALL OF GAIA, ELDER or DOPETHRONE, and appeared at Wacken Open Air, Desertfest London & Antwerp, Summer Breeze, Keep It Low, Up in Smoke and countless more.

With the “The Goat Ritual”, HIGH FIGHTER introduced themselves to the world of Stoner Rock, Doom and Sludge Metal, and perfectly set the scene for their wild ride of styles and fast-paced hardcore based Stoner Metal. While the record, with its stunning cover artwork, was released exactly 6 years ago on Bandcamp and as Vinyl and CD formats, December 4th 2020 will see HIGH FIGHTER’s debut EP coming out as a limited Tape edition on Argonauta Records but also appearing on Spotify for the first time ever! This is a Must-Have record for any Stoner, Sludge, Heavy Rock and Doom Metal fan, but better be quick to pre-order your copy, as the Cassettes will most definitely run out fast at THIS LOCATION!

In the summer of 2019, HIGH FIGHTER released their second full-length album, “Champain”, on Argonauta Records. And it seems, the past couple of years and life on the road has impacted them in a huge way. As their latest album has a heavier and “pissed-off” vibe compared to their first records. HIGH FIGHTER evolved, and today it‘s a different band that announced their arrival in 2014 with their debut EP followed by the 2016- album “Scars & Crosses”. “Champain” isn’t for the faint hearted, and its sound creates an eerie and gloomy atmosphere where the mood can be pitch-black in places. The soaring and brutal riffs on “Champain” allow vocalist Mona Miluski to show her impressive vocal range, from Death Metal growls, mean screams to her Stoner Rock, Soul and Blues roots. Watch the band’s latest, self-produced music video, to the album opening track “Before I Disappear” here:

Furthermore, HIGH FIGHTER have just announced a postponed festival appearance from 2020 at VAGOS METAL FEST to return next summer. They will be playing the Portuguese metal festival alongside acts such as Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Exodus, Testament and many more. Find out more infos HERE!

HIGH FIGHTER also recently played an exclusive “Offstage“ show for German TV, WDR Rockpalast. This very special “Corona” concert in a unique setting at the Landschaftspark Duisburg, will be airing on TV on November 9th, but has just been premiered online at THIS LOCATION!

SOCK PUPPET PARODY Releases Video For TYPE O NEGATIVE’s ‘Black No. 1’ – Halloween Special

SOCK PUPPET PARODY has released a Halloween special video for TYPE O NEGATIVE‘s ‘Black No. 1’, read and watch below.

Here’s a Halloween special to lose your threads over: Tube Sock Negative, a gothic group of animated undergarments, has set out to prove that black matches with everything and that even the tightest knit sock can have a soft side. The sock puppet outfit’s song “Sock Nvr. Worn” pays homage to its undead counterpart, Type O Negative’s 1993 hit “Black No. 1”.

By emulating the dark and ominous themes found in the lyrics of the late Peter Steele, “Sock Nvr. Worn” delves into the harsh reality that “life is lonely for a stocking not used.” The “moon beam’s sheen” offers a glimpse into the vampiric features of Feeter Steel as he gazes upon the “brand named mark” across his mistress. Functionless laundry is simply vagrant cotton. They are the vagrants.

YouTube artist Sock Puppet Parody has created a laundry list of parody videos including sock puppet tributes to Slayer, Metallica, Slipknot, and many more. This year’s Halloween iteration was lovingly carried out by steadfast fans of Type O Negative! Don’t mistake lack of socks for fashion.

While everybody is missing live shows New York City hardcore legends SICK OF IT ALL have a quick fix available for you. The band filmed a series of live clips – straight in their living rooms! After releasing songs from their rich back catalogue, “Alone”, “The Bland Within” and “Paper Tiger”, it’s time for a more recent track taken from their latest album, “Wake The Sleeping Dragon!”. Click here for “Hardcore Horseshoe”:

Make sure to subscribe to the band’s channel in order to get notified about coming clips.

The band comment: “This week’s track ‘Hardcore Horseshoe’ is from our latest album ‘Wake The Sleeping Dragon!’. The muscle bound riffs and tongue in cheek lyrics show the parities of growing older in the scene and male pattern baldness brought to you by Armand and definitely a band favorite on the album. Unfortunately we haven’t had the chance to play it live (yet) because as we were about to add it Covid hit. So here it is in all its quarantine glory!”

For the release of SICK OF IT ALL’s latest album, “Wake The Sleeping Dragon!”, Century Media Records teamed up with Fat Wreck Chords, who put out the CD and vinyl version in the US.
