Renowned Egyptian-American artist, director, and death metal musician  NADER SADEK has unleashed the single / video ‘The Serapeum: Polluted Waters’, taken from his four-track The Serapeum Extended Single, to be released 20th November. The offering serves as his first output since 2014’s critically-lauded The Malefic: Chapter III EP and a taste of his impending full-length, set to be released during the first half of 2021.

Premiered via Decibel, watch the video here:

The Serapeum features principal members Karl Sanders (Nile), Derek Roddy (Serpents Rise), and Mahumud Gecekusu (Perversion), who visited Egypt in 2017 at the invitation of SADEK and Cairometal.net, alongside a host of equally notable guests. Marking Sanders’ and Roddy’s first ever visit to the ancient land, the EP is monikered after an ancient Egyptian subterranean burial chamber and reflects the collective’s deep inspiration by the grounds explored.

‘The Serapeum: Polluted Waters’ features Sanders’ signature tone on rhythm guitar yet offers a different angle of experimentation, with the inclusion of eastern harmonies and drones provided by Alex Zubair (Nephelium), and instead of chants, Nancy Mounir, one of Egypt’s top musical talents, adds the ever haunting theremin to the mix. Dominic “Forest” Lapointe plays the low end, and Mahumud Gecukusu performs the guitar solo. The track also features Roddy‘s staggering drum work along with SADEK’s ferocious vocal delivery. To complete this musical encounter with the archaeological wonders of Egypt, SADEK recorded the vocals inside the inner chamber of Giza’s “Red Pyramid.”

Thematically, NADER SADEK’s The Serapeum draws inspiration from the contrast between the wondrous mystery of the Serapeum and its undervalued status today as simply a tomb for bulls. As an underground complex of twenty-four eighty-ton sarcophagi, many archaeologists consider it a stranger and more complicated legacy than the pyramids.

SADEK comments: “By recording in the Serapeum and the Red Pyramid, not only did we want to take advantage of the amazing acoustic effects of these ancient structures, we wanted to explore how the powers that be arrogantly dismiss that which they don’t understand.”

SADEK explores this theme and draws parallels in the lyrics like, “Bull tomb uncovered, fallacy discovered / The reign of lambs begotten,” and, “Dead Serapis’ decay, sands triggered, shall pay / Serapeum! Rise! and confront us with the truth’s majesty.” These lyrics symbolically portray the relationship of modern to ancient Egypt, once the greatest civilization, now a cesspool of poverty and dilapidation. The Serapeum, like the musical performances on this single, will find its admirers in those who reject the shallow and superficial comforts of the familiar.

DEMONICAL Premiere New Music Video For “Slipping Apart”

In anticipation of tomorrow’s release date of DEMONICAL‘s sixth studio album “World Domination”, the Swedish death metallers unveil a brand new video for the song “Slipping Apart”, featuring guest vocals from heavy metal singer Nils Patrik Johansson (Astral Doors, ex-Civil War). Watch the video here:

The new album “World Domination” will be available on October 23rd via Agonia Records. The record is available in physical and digital formats at this location.

“World Domination” is a gateway to old and new DEMONICAL. The band’s sixth album marks the debut for vocalist Christofer Sätderdal and the return for original drummer Ronnie Bergerstål (2006-2011, 2019-present). There are no major changes to the band’s proven formula of brutal, melodic and insolently Swedish death metal. “World Domination” picks up where 2018’s “Chaos Manifesto” left off, with a touch of extra dynamics and vibrancy that enrich the band’s sound.

DEMONICAL commented: “So here we have it, World Domination; our sixth full-length album and the first one to feature new vocalist. Christofer Sätderdal and new-old drummer Ronnie Bergerstål. World Domination continues the same path as our previous Chaos Manifesto slap, in other words, fierce HM-2 driven Swedish death metal, a ravage combination of brutality, melody and darkness. As always on every album, even this time we tried out some new traces and elements we haven’t explored before and have to say that we are stoked about the final outcome. When it comes to the production, this is clearly our most dynamic and vivid album so far. Not only did we use a different way of recording everything, we went also for a much more energetic and breathing sound closer to how albums were produced in the late 80’s and early 90’s. World Domination was recorded at a few different studios around Sweden, then mixed & mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén – a victorious collaboration we started with on our previous album.”

“World Domination” was recorded in June 2020 at Glashuset and Sellnoise studios by Johan Hjelm and Jonas Arnberg, with production by DEMONICAL. Mixing and mastering were handled by award winning producer Karl Daniel Lidén (Bloodbath, Katatonia) at Tri-Lamb Studios. The cover artwork was created by Susan Wicher.New band photos were taken by Jens Ryden.

Tracklist:
1. My Kingdom Done
2. Hellfire Rain
3. Aeons of Death
4. The Thin Darkness
5. We Stand as One
6. Victorious
7. Slipping Apart
8. Calescent Punishment

Los Angeles metallers ÆNLY have released their official music video for single “Up In Smoke” on BraveWords.com, watch it HERE.

“Up In Smoke is a depiction of ones internal anger, frustration and feeling of suffocating in the midst of a chaotic world filled with tension and uncertainty. The song touches on a lack of control in our current situation and the ability to renew our selves, bounce back and settle with our past” says the band.

They add, “The video was filmed on location at Tigerlab Studios in Van Nuys, Ca. It was directed and edited by Wackoe flims.”

Ænly is a metal core band, with Heavy riffs, pounding breaks and bridges, catchy melody lines and aggressive vocals. With a positive message and outlook on current topics, sure to catch the listeners attention from the moment they hit play.

Ænly formed in September of 2018. It’s Founding Member Riggs(guitar/composer/producer) was set to turn his life around and started Ænly the day he got sober. With the positive mindset of “All ways Forward” and moving ahead. Riggs added several members to the lineup from local Talent Andrew Lopez on vocals, Manny Cave a bandmate from another project on bass. This would be the beginning members of the band. The EP ALLWAYS FORWARD would follow and was released in December 2019. Longtime friend and previous band mate, Art Diharce (lead guitar) joined the group in January 2020.
