Slim Jim Phantom:
“THREE TIME’S A CHARM” is probably my favorite song from the “40” album – I remember when Brian firstplayed it for me over the phone – He had told me he wanted to write one around Gene Vincent & The Blue Capsstyle where the drums follow the lyric. This one was perfect and we came up with a good drum part over thephone in 5 minutes. I don’t even think we had a demo for that one. Brian played guitar and I played drums rightover the phone. It worked in the studio and it was a natural one to play live. I dig this one the most!”

Buffalo NY hard rockers HEARTS & HAND GRENADES will release their debut full-length album entitled Turning To Ashes on January 8, 2021 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Justin Rose (Goo Goo Dolls, James Taylor, Spyro Gyra) at GCR Audio, and the album art was designed by Jeff Balance at 119 Design. Pre-Save / Pre-Order at this location.
Turning To Ashes is a hard rockin’ energetic debut from upstate New York’s hardest working rock band. Fronted by Stephanie Wlosinski on lead vocals and bass guitar, this band is literally exploding with a sharp, edgy sound full of savage riffs and powerfully deep lyrics. The very first single off the album “Nothing Left” kicks things off with a breakup song about ending toxic relationships, and it is evident this band does not mess around. With the second single “The In Crowd”, the band tells a story about dive bars off the beaten path, hitmen, and other shady characters. “Adrenaline” ramps it up a notch singing about the band’s insatiable appetite for being on stage and performing live. The title track “Turning to Ashes” was written about feeling like you don’t fit in or that you’re different from everyone else around you. The future is shining bright on this band, and it is easy to see the bright future ahead of them! See below for the full track listing of the album.
The band have also revealed their first music video from the album, for the first single entitled “Nothing Left“. The video was directed by Charles Butera. Watch it right now, below.
“Nothing Left was written as a cathartic outlet for me that no relationship is worth hanging onto when it starts to result in negativity,” says vocalist Stephanie Wlosinski. “I’ve been in a couple of toxic relationships where I eventually found myself at the breaking point and had to move on. When you are just fed up with someone else’s idea of what you should act like, look like, and think like; it’s definitely time to end it!” Guitarist Mike Bress adds “it was definitely way too hot in that place where we did the shoot. Even with the AC and fans, we were all sweating and having to take a break after every take. Fortunately someone from the brewery next door passed by and saw what we were doing. Shortly afterwards, they surprised us with an ice-cold keg of kraft beer… looking back on that day I now realize that they may have saved our lives!”

On August 29, 1981, OUTLAWS rocked Lorelei in Germany. And now, fans can see and hear the proof, with the September 25th arrival of ‘Live at Rockpalast 1981’. 60 minutes of southern rock at its finest, the classic Outlaws line-up of Freddie Salem (guitar/vocals), Hughie Thomasson (guitar/vocals), Billy Jones (guitar/voc), David Dix (drums) and Rick Cua (bass) is on display throughout this hour-long performance (issued via MIG), which can be purchased here: https://outlaws.lnk.to/rockpalast
And all the expected early Outlaws classics are included – “Devil’s Road,” “Hurry Sundown,” “Holiday,” “(Ghost) Riders In The Sky,” and “Green Grass And High Tides.” The track “(Ghost) Riders In The Sky” (original title: “Ghost Riders In The Sky: A Cowboy Legend”) was penned by Stan Jones and had already been covered by Johnny Cash and the Blues Brothers, became the new anthem of southern rock fans in the Outlaw version. At Lorelei, the Outlaws played an 8-minute version of “Ghost Riders In The Sky” with a guitar battle between Freddie Salem, Hughie Thomasson and Billy Jones, while the blissful fans in the audience waved an oversized Southern States banner. Another incredible live experience is their other Southern statement, “Green Grass And High Tides”, which stretches over a breathtaking 20 minutes!
Guitarist Freddie Salem (who also pens the liner notes for the CD/DVD) remembers: “Speaking for the other Outlaws and myself, after playing in thousands of shows for thousands of people, Lorelei, Germany and the Rockpalast concert will always remain a wonderful and ongoing memory in our career!”
For more than 45 years, the Outlaws have flown the Southern Rock banner like no other band in the land. Known for their unique triple-guitar rock attack and three-part country harmonies, the Tampa-born group’s first three albums on Arista – featuring hits like ‘There Goes Another Love Song’, ‘Green Grass & High Tides’, ‘Knoxville Girl’ and ‘Freeborn Man’ – became Southern Rock milestones, while relentless tours with peers like The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Charlie Daniels Band – as well as performing alongside The Who, Eagles and The Rolling Stones – solidified the reputation of ‘The Florida Guitar Army’ as genre legends.
And now, fans can witness the band at the peak of their in-concert powers, with the most-welcome arrival of ‘Live at Rockpalast 1981.’

ALDO NOVA has always been an innovator. A creator of music that’s refused to conform to trends or norms. Like all true artists, he takes risks, pushing the boundaries wherever possible.
Today in 2020, Aldo Nova continues to innovate releasing his new single, “Hey Ladi Dadi” on all the digital outlets now.
In his own words, he describes the song “Hey Ladi Dadi” as” Almost heavy metal but with a hook that’ll have you shaking your head and stomping your feet at the same time”
The song is taken from his 23 song, 1 hour and 53 minute long Rock Opera titled “The Life and Times of Eddie Gage” due out in May of 2021.
Nova decided in 2008 not to write, produce, or do anything for anyone else but himself and chose to pursue his vision of writing and creating a Rock Opera which, from its inception, was called “The Life and Times of Eddie Gage”
He wrote his first song for it on February 8th, 2008 called “Go On” and continued to write and produce the initial 8 songs that started the project rolling. All 8 of these songs appear in its final form which was finished 12 years later on May 12th of 2020 that also consist of songs written in 2011, 2013, 2015, and the bulk of the album being written in 2019.
In the Rock Opera, he plays all the different characters. Morphing his voice with each different song.
Born Aldo Caporuscio on November 13, 1956, in Montreal, he speaks fluent English, French and Italian, which gives you an idea of his varied talents. Oh, and Aldo is a successful songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger, and studio engineer. Talk about a master of all trades.
Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, he got interested in playing the guitar when 13 years old.
At the age of 16, the emerging talent of the teenage Aldo Nova began to blossom when he started to play gigs in local clubs, albeit while working at a day job.
A significant break happened for him at 22 years old when his set of demos which included the songs, “Fantasy”, Fantasy Live Home Performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f4rT30YxCU&ab_channel=AldoNova “Heart to Heart” and “Under the Gun” captured the attention of ATV Publishing in 1981.
Now signed as a writer to ATV Publishing, Aldo Nova completed what was really a set of high-grade demos, and now things really began to happen. His recording contract was sold to Portrait Records and Tony Bongiovi was brought in to mix the tapes at his Power Station Studio in New York.
Apart from the drums, Nova played everything on that album, something that became his staple and part of his reputation as a one-man band, something which still hasn’t changed to this day as Nova played and sang everything on “The Life and Times of Eddie Gage” himself but the drums by Lee Levin and bass which were played by Dan Warner, Sylvain Bolduc and Timothy Gaines(ex- Stryper )
His 1st album sold more than two million copies in America, as it peaked at number eight on the chart. The single ‘Fantasy’ reached number 23 in the US chart. On his second album ‘Subject…Aldo Nova’ again proved brilliantly inventive. Once more, Aldo played all the instruments on the recordings except the drums. Once more he showed he was a visionary in the way he used synthesizers in a rock format. This was issued on October 13, 1983, and sold one million albums. Two years later, he put out ‘Twitch’. But then walked away from his relationship with Portrait, refusing to compromise his musical integrity for the sake of any trend that the label wanted.
In 1984 he played on the debut album from Bon Jovi, lending his credibility and guitar chops to the young Bon Jovi’s song and 1st hit “Runaway”. Five years later, Jon Bon Jovi called on him to play on his solo album, the soundtrack to “Youngs Gun 2 where Aldo played a pivotal role in the making of, even writing the main riff on Jon’s song “Blaze of Glory”. As a result, he was signed by Jon Bon Jovi to his new label Jambco, leading to the well-received ‘Blood On The Bricks’ album in 1991.
He has also been a major and constant factor in the career of Celine Dion, as a producer, musician, and writer, with Aldo has written songs for her such as “Your Light”, “Can’t Fight This Feelin’”, “You And I “and, “A Song for You” amongst many others, and also wrote for many top 10 stars including Faith Hill and Clay Aiken who all had number 1 hits with Nova’s songs.
“When Celine Dion made her comeback in 2001, Nova penned “A New Day Has Come”, a song that held the number 1 position in 26 countries for 6 months for her.
Aldo also won a Grammy Award in 1996 as a producer of the Celine Dion album “Falling Into You”, which was Album Of The Year.
In 2018, he decided to come out of the darkness to record his album 2.0 which featured turbocharged versions 6 tracks from his debut album, along with a new song called “I’m a Survivor”. It did get a mixed response. But as he says,” I realized a long time ago that whatever you put out, not everybody will like it, so I don’t stress about it.”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOwGG4HiRHk&feature=youtu.be&ab_channel=AldoNova
Now in 2020, Aldo Nova has come charging out of the gate again with the release of his song “Hey Ladi Dadi” and nothing will hold him back anymore.
Aldo Nova has never accepted anything less than the highest standards. There are many musicians who’ve sold more records than him. But nobody – NO-ONE – can claim to have more foresight and integrity. He may have only released six albums in a 40-year career. But that’s because quality is paramount to a man who will never accept anything but the highest standards.

Italian Groove Metal band SIX DEGREES unveil first single taken from debut album “No One Is Innocent“, coming out next month,November 27, via Rockshots Records.
“Restart/Erase” is the opening track of the album, now available as Digital Single and Visualizer.
The band comments: «Restart/Erase is one of the latest songs we wrote. It has got all the characteristics of our way to write music. Maybe that’s why we chose it as the opening song of this album. It talks about how sometimes, to put an end to all those things that cause you pain and make you feel bad, you need to erase everything and start living again. Insisting without understanding is useless. Maturity leads you to live things with much more wisdom and this attitude saves you time and above all makes your life easier.»
“No One Is Innocent” is an album that brings together all the creative aspects of the band. It’s an aggressive, simple, direct groove-death metal, but filled with melody. All of this gives the compositions a dual-purpose appeal, with a mix of violence and impact but also catchy melodies, thanks to Luca’s scratchy growls and Valentina’s sweet and effective vocals.
The introspective lyrics also play a fundamental part. Certainly this is not a concept album, but an intense collection of emotions: anger, love, frustration, death, faith, disappointment, indifference, social criticism, inner discomfort, lack of communication, trust, courage, imperfection: all elements and/or sensations inspired by the emotional events that we live and that belong to the experience that each of us carries on our shoulders.
The album includes a cover version of “The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis and the News, taken from the legendary trilogy “Back to the Future” OST.
“No One Is Innocent“ is available for preorder at the record label’s official store:
