With ‘And Oceans Between Us’, they present a surprisingly catchy single off their upcoming fifth studio album – “Mӕre” will see the light of day on January 29th (February 19th in the US) and is about to unveil 84 minutes of melancholic post rock, crippling depression and black metal.

Singer J.J. comments on the new song: “Sometimes you meet a person you believe to be your soulmate, a person that can cure all the pains of previous heartbreaks. You think: ‘This is the person that will save me from this cold and lonely world’, just when starting to realise after some times, this person became the ailment as well and her words became poison.”

Back with a vengeance and hell-bent on destruction, Norwegian death metallers, CADAVER, are back in business and ready to reign. Two weeks ago, Edder & Bile, the first full length from this band’s new incarnation of Anders Odden’s original, extreme metal vision, was unleashed unto the world via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band release the guitar playthrough for the single “Let Me Burn” which can be seen here:

Watch the lyric video for “Let Me Burn” here: https://youtu.be/dnGEGbn-qvc

“‘Let Me Burn’ came to me at night, after one of our intense studio days in January 2019.” comments Anders Odden.“I just got the opening riff and it led me out on this path that became the song. It was raining in North Hollywood that night and the whole feel of doom and gloom was shining through. I had with me a recording of my fireplace in Norway and knew this would make an awesome ending to the album. The song is about how we all will end up as ashes no matter who we are and what we do. It’s a nihilistic theme that means even more to me now after facing death with my cancer battle. When I was close to dying this winter, I always thought of having this song played super loud at my funeral with all the people having to read the lyrics during the ceremony. As I am not quite dead yet. I use it to tell you I cheated death, for now. Let Me Burn. I have no fear!”

Edder & Bile was produced by the band as well as Adair Daufembach who also handled the engineering. The album was recorded and mixed at Northwood Sound Studios in Hollywood, CA. The album features vocal cameos from death metal icons Kam Lee (MASSACRE) and Jeff Becerra (POSSESSED) ensuring that this crushing rebirth has underground credentials to spare. The photo for the artwork was taken by Hannah Verbeuren and the layout was created by Justin Bartlett.

GOB PATROL Release New EP ‘New Spit’

Las Vegas based punk rock outfit GOB PATROL have unleashed their new EP New Spit out now via Riot Records.

Gob Patrol are heavily inspired by the legendary 80’s US punk scene highlighted by acts such as Black Flag, GBH, Minor Threat and The Germs they are angsty, rebellious, chaotic and 100% pure old school punk rock, just how we love it.

Stream/buy New Spit HERE

New Spit features 5 furious and raging punk rock tracks including the recently released singles Anarchy and Sin City.

Watch the video for Anarchy HERE

Anarchy is a track directly under the influence of the aforementioned acts, old school, proud and punk as f**k. While Sin City continues Gob Patrol’s reputation for thunderous guitar and drum tones, and high-energy vocals. This is as punk as it gets folks!

Watch the video for Sin City HERE

The idea of Gob Patrol started in 2018 with Jay the Guitarist meeting the singer Slam in Las Vegas over a discussion of punk rock bands. They soon found bass player Gogo and drummer Cody.

The concept was to develop music based on the influence and sound of their favourite 80s punk bands, and to keep that sound alive in a growing scene. Writing guitar-driven songs inspired by bands such as Black Flag, GBH, and The Germs, Gob Patrol stay true to the genre.

After recording their first demo, Gob Patrol hit the road playing shows to large crowds in California, Utah, Arizona, and raging in the Vegas scene. Look forward to a full album of punk anthems soon!

GRETA VAN FLEET Release “Age Of Machine” Music Video

GRETA VAN FLEET, the GRAMMY-winning, GOLD-certified rock’n’roll band, have shared their visionary new video for the song “Age of Machine”. The video can be viewed HERE.

The video creates a new universe filled with symbolism and open to interpretation, with whispers of reflections on modernism. It is a response, a tiny piece of art in a very large conversation – four brothers and friends who spend very little time online, filled with questions – where is technology taking us, what does it all mean, and what are we trading in exchange? The video addresses the crumbling beauty around us, but leaves the final significance to the viewer – whether that narrative be focused on climate, industrialism, intimacy, self confidence, tradition, humanity itself, or otherwise. The only clear concept in the video is that the band chooses life.

The “Age of Machine” music video was co-directed by Greta Van Fleet and Matthew Daniel Siskin. The new song released last Friday with the announcement of The Battle at Garden’s Gate, the band’s new album due April 16, 2021 (Lava/Republic Records).

Dark Essence Records To Release Split EP From TAAKE And HELHEIM

Norwegian Black Metal icon Hoest has cast some positivity into the hell that has been 2020, with the release of two TAAKE 10″split EPs, one with DEATHCULT (on Edged Circle Productions) and one with WHOREDOM RIFE (on Terratur Possessions), and now, as the year draws to a close, a third split has been announced.

The new EP will see TAAKE join forces with HELHEIM, and will be the last of the three 10″ splits.  Titled ”Henholdsvis”  the EP will appear on Bergen’s eponymous Dark Essence Records, the long-time label of both bands,  and is set for release on the 5th March 2021.

For “Henholdsvis” TAAKE has recorded two new tracks, “Brotne Bein og Mannefall” and “Ein Baat i Foss”,  whose lyrics are based on poems by the famed Norwegian writer Arne Garborg (1851-1924).  With these new tracks, the band has produced the kind of Black Metal fans crave – dark, cold and gritty.

HELHEIM, on the other hand, will present two covers.  The first is a re-mastered version of EMPEROR’s “Heksesabbat / Witches Sabbath”, which originally appeared on the tribute album “A Tribute to Emperor – In Honour of Icon E” in 2012, and which has now been totally remastered.  For the second of the two covers HELHEIM have chosen to go down a very interesting  path by recording a very different,  and original, version of “Orkan” , from TAAKE’s  “Noregs Vaapen” album.

Recorded by Bjørnar E. Nilsen (VULTURE INDUSTRIES, BLACK HOLE GENERATOR) at his Conclave and Earshot Studio in the bands’ hometown of Bergen, and with artwork by H’grimnir, tracklisting for “Henholdsvis” is as follows:

1. Brotne Bein og Mannefall – Taake
2. Ein Baat i Foss – Taake
3. Orkan – Helheim
4. Heksesabbat – Helheim

“Henholdsvis” will be released in 10″ black vinyl as well as in red, white and blue vinyl, limited to 333 copies each.  It will also be available in digital format and can now be pre-order from the following:
