Napalm Records is proud to announce the re-signing of RUSSKAJA after three years! Breaking all genre boundaries RUSSKAJA deliver their “Turbopolka” and mingle open-minded passion with various styles from around the globe. Since 2005 RUSSKAJA have been touring their modern and cosmopolitan Austro-Soviet roots, enthralling crowds all over the world. Napalm Records is thrilled to take it to the next chapter with RUSSKAJA after releasing three full length albums together and garnering tens of millions of YouTube views & streams!
Guitarist/Songwriter/Producer Engel Mayr says: “Napalm Records is the perfect partner for the album we’re currently working on. This will be a heavy rockin’ RUSSKAJA album, I think it will be the heaviest album we ever made and I’m really looking forward to blasting out these songs with our fans!”
The music of RUSSKAJA is as multinational as the band itself: Russian-born Georgij Alexandrowitsch Makazaria has been living in Vienna since 1990 and founded RUSSKAJA in 2005. From the very beginning he was joined by Ukrainian bass player Dimitrij Miller and HG Gutternigg, who plays the self-developed “Potete” (a mixture of trombone and trumpet) and learned from jazz legend Joe Zawinul, among others. Rounding out the team are guitarist Engel Mayr, drummer Mario Stübler and Lea-Sophie Fischer on the electric violin.
Today sees the release of AMAHIRU’s second single “WTTP”, accompanied by an official music video, a mood lifting tune for the current times. Frédéric Leclercq (Kreator, Sinsaenum, Ex-Dragonforce) and SAKI (Mary’s Blood & NEMOPHILA, all-female Japanese metal bands), together with the other band members, invite the audience to their party whenever this track is played. Euphoric vocals and adrenaline-infused guitar riffs provide the needed support for headbanging while social distancing.
The self-titled debut album “Amahiru” is going to be released on November 27th, 2020 on earMUSIC on CD and Digital. The album features 12 brand new tracks from the newly formed band, which was founded by Frédéric Leclercq and SAKI. They met in 2015 when Mary’s Blood opened for Dragonforce in Hongkong and took 4 years to create a completely new metal sound together. Amahiru combines traditional metal with melodic and oriental-infused elements and is heavily influenced by Japanese culture.
23 years have passed since the release of SUIDAKRA‘s debut album “Lupine Essence”, which should be the starting point of an adventurous and unique career. After the album has been virtually nowhere available for years it is time to breathe new life into this gem! “Lupine Essence” will be rereleased on November 20th. The original 8 tracks of the debut were completely remastered by Arkadius himself for the re-release on CD! Additionally there are 6 bonus tracks from different re-recordings, which are partly still unreleased. In the booklet you will also find extra Linar Notes by Arkadius, which give an insight into the history of this debut.
Furthermore “Lupine Essence” is also released on vinyl for the first time! In this case it is the 7 original album recordings and the two previously unreleased rerecorded versions of “And A Mistrel…” and “Sheltering Dreams”. Since the original 1997 artwork is no longer available in a printable version, a version of Jesus Lhysta/Rotted Artist, which is close to the original, was created especially for this re-release. The album is available as CD and vinyl (in three different colours) as well as an exclusive bundle with various gimmicks in the MDD Shop as PreOrder!

Melbourne based band Shotgun Mistress has returned with another nose-to-the-grind indie hard rock onslaught, Collide, out nowvia Crusader Records.
Collide highlights the band’s now trademark style of combining stupefying guitar riff grenades, a combustible rhythm section and soaring vocals wrapped in a melodic maelstrom. Shotgun Mistress is as hard to define as it is difficult to ignore – Ignore them at your peril.
This quartet of consummate rock tune craftsmen is riding high on the success of their previous releases, including Save Me from Myself, which bulleted to No1. on the iTunes Australian Rock Charts and smashed into the Top 40 chart, and their last single Glorious Machine, which left charts smouldering in its wake for weeks on end.
The new track is another fiery affair; a blistering tumult of distortion led full tilt with a heart on the sleeve lyric and sly, endearing hooks that don’t let up. Collide is one more tantalizing preview of their forthcoming debut album, due to set the rock world ablaze late in 2020.
Shotgun Mistress was formed by Matt Wilcock (The Berzerker, Akercocke, Abramelin), internationally renowned death-metal demon guitarist best known for playing at light speeds. He hooked up with “Diamond” David Lee on drums to jam out LA Strip-era rock. Ben Curnow (EARTH) joined on bass along with vocalist Glenn Patrick (of Collegians, featuring members of Pseudo Echo and Invertigo).
Shotgun Mistress is the first Australian band to join Golden Robot’s new metal label Crusader Records.
Just recently, Metal-O-Mania conducted a long and interesting interview with the fretless guru STEVE DI GIORGIO, talking about ACT OF DENIAL, DEATH, TESTAMENT And More!
Watch the interview, show starting at 7:00 minutes, the interview at 58, HERE.
Regarding the covered topics with Steve, Metal-O-Mania’s co-host The Crypt issued: “We did the interview in 3 parts. We did a 15 minute clip where we talked about his ACT OF DENIAL stuff and his musical influences and then we played the new Act of Denial song. Came back and talked about his days in DEATH with Chuck and he shared some truly fantastic insights on his days in Death. Then we played ‘Lack of Comprehension’ from Death with Steve. Then we talked some more about the latest TESTAMENT release, ‘Titans of Creation’…he told a great story about learning that Dave would be a part of the new Testament lineup and we closed it all out with a Testament jam. The entire thing runs an hour and 10 minutes in the middle of our 3 and a half our show this week and it is gold.”
Please Note, STEVE DI GIORGIO is available for studio sessions as well as session bassist for tours. For further information, please contact Alpha Omega Management.
The fretless guru, STEVE DI GIORGIO doesn’t need any longer introductions, as he is widely renowned as a pioneer on the fretless bass in heavy metal music, being the bassist of TESTAMENT, DEATH and SADUS, among others. Within his genre, STEVE DI GIORGIO is respected for his playing skills, versatility and incredible technique. He has more than 40 studio album recordings and over 20 years of touring the world.

New All-Stars melodic death metal band ACT OF DENIAL– feat. by lead guitarist and songwriter Voi Cox (Koziak, Victim), guitarist and lyricist Luger (Benighted, Koziak), vocalist Bjorn Speed Strid (Soilwork), bassist Steve Di Giorgio (Death, Testament), drummer Krimh (Septicflesh) and keyboardist John Lönnmyr (The Night Flight Orchestra) – have unveiled the official teaser video for the band’s new single ‘Down That Line’, coming out on October 25th, on Bandcamp, Hearnow, Cd baby, Spotify, Youtube and iTunes.
Watch the ‘Down That Line’ teaser video + introduction of John Lönnmyr, here:
“Besides the official teaser for our new single ‘Down That Line’, in this video we are presenting our amazing keyboardist John Lönnmyr (The Night Flight Orchestra). John is the versatile keyboard player heard and seen in The Night Flight Orchestra, Aunt Nancy, Monochromatics, Valinor’s Tree and more. Hammond organ, analog synths (Moog!!) and jazz piano has played a leading role in his artistry.”
Guitarist/lyricist Luger on the debut album ‘Negative’: “The finished songs are already in the process of mixing in Fredman studio. Me and Voi decided not to focus on one genre so there will be tunes for every metal fan. We’re doing this mostly for ourselves and the songs we write are the songs we love to listen at home, hoping they will reach also to other people, as to ourselves.”
Lead guitarist/songwriter Voi Cox adds: “We were always influenced by swedish style and sound when we were kids that’s why it is a big honor to us to have Bjorn from Soilwork on this album, also Fredrik Nordström from Fredman Studio who basically invented that sound. We grew up listening to Soilwork, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames and ofc Death, and that’s why we’re so excited that Steve is in this project, too. So we are very much influenced by those bands but that doesn’t mean that our songs will sound like that and you will hear all that in our debut album.”
More details on the upcoming debut album, and else, will be revealed soon, stay tuned!
