KREATOR To Release ‘Under The Guillotine’ Deluxe Boxset In February

The story of KREATOR’s meteoric rise to the global elite of thrash metal bands from their humble beginnings in Essen Germany, began under their first name of Tormentor in the early 80’s. It was their ‘Blitzkreig’ and ‘End Of The World’ demos changing hands in the era’s bustling underground tape-trading network that exposed them to the international metal community.  Positive word of mouth soon attracted the attention of Germany’s own metal start-up, Noise Records, which signed the newly re-christened Kreator to a deal.

Kreator’s tenure at the label spawned six studio albums and established them as one of the most influential on the thrash scene, one they dominate to this day.  1985 debut, Endless Pain was a savage debut; its crude thrashing quickly had the underground metal world abuzz with excitement. 1986’s Follow up, Pleasure To Kill is considered the band’s first “classic” album and raised the bar with more diversity of tempos, while losing nothing in terms of ferocity or speed. 1987’s Terrible Certainty further cemented the reputation that Kreator were one of the genre’s finest exponents.  In 1989 the band closed the decade with the thrash triumph of Extreme Aggression, their biggest seller to date.  1990’s huge magnum opus Coma Of Souls confirmed them in thrash history before they diversified their sound on the experimental, Renewal in 1992.

Under The Guillotine is a deluxe celebration of Kreator’s, Noise Records discography and is the definitive collection of their first decade of recorded work and contains:

Endless Pain – (Swirl vinyl with original artwork & inner sleeve)
Pleasure To Kill – (Splatter vinyl with original artwork & inner sleeve)
Terrible Certainty – (Splatter vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Extreme Aggression – (Half/half vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Coma Of Souls – (Splatter vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Renewal – (Swirl vinyl with original artwork & inner lyric sleeve)
Some Pain Will Last DVD – Containing ‘From The Vault’ mini documentary, plus two previously unreleased audio live concerts and an Andy Sneap remix of Live In East Berlin 1990
12” x 12”, 40 page hardback book of photography, quotes and lyrics from the first decade of the bands existence. Contains rare and previously unseen photos from the era.
Reproduction ‘End Of The World’ demo cassette
‘Demon’ figurine USB drive containing MP3 audio of all the expanded editions of all the albums.
All encased in an executioners, guillotine box.
The first 250 orders from the Noise Records store will also receive a signed art card by Mille Petrozza.

Also available as an introduction piece is ‘Under The Guillotine – The Noise Anthology’ – an 18 track double-vinyl collection of Kreator’s Noise era classics, pressed on splatter vinyl, including rare and unseen photos. And for the non-vinyl collectors, there will also be a 30 track 2CD version, housed in a mediabook.  Both feature rare tracks and remixes from the bands discography.

DEMON HEAD Reveal Details For New Album ‘Viscera’, Launch Video For New Single

On January 29th, Demon Head will release their new album, Viscera, via Metal Blade Records. For a first preview of the record, a video for the new single, “The Triumphal Chariot of Antimony” (created by Justine Morrow aka lathe.of.heaven), can be viewed at: metalblade.com/demonhead – where Viscera can be pre-ordered in various formats.

Demon Head is comprised of five internationally based and widely acclaimed musicians; Mikkel Sander Fuglsang, Birk Gjerlufsen Nielsen, Marcus Ferreira Larsen, Thor Gjerlufsen Nielsen and Jeppe Wittus. Though hesitant to compromise the description of the music they perform through generalizing terms of genre, they’ve coined the term “diabolic rock” as an appropriate presentation.

Their fourth full-length – Viscera – is a new beginning for Demon Head. Recorded during the first months of 2020 between the legendary Sweet Silence Studios by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel, Rainbow) and a remote country house in Sweden, the album was mixed by Martin ‘Konie’ Ehrencrona (In Solitude, Tribulation, Nifelheim). The production shows the impeccable qualities of joined forces, where old techniques meet new aesthetics, and major label possibilities meet underground, uncompromising DIY dedication. The resulting 10 songs showcase acoustic instruments, flourishing mellotron strings, brass instruments, tape manipulation and church organ – displayed in equal measure to the sound of the crushing drums of J.W, cryptic guitars of brothers B.G.N and T.G.N, pounding bass lines of M.S.F, and the vocals of M.F.L combined with the eerily captivating falsetto and baryton of B.G.N.

Demon Head comments: “We are now ready to offer You ‘Viscera‘. It contains more of us than any album we have made before, and we hope that You will welcome it as sincerely as it will welcome You.”

Viscera track-listing
1. Tooth and Nail
2. The Feline Smile
3. Arrows
4. Magical Death
5. The Lupine Choir
6. A Long, Groaning Descent
7. In Adamantine Chains
8. Black Torches
9. Wreath
10. The Triumphal Chariot of Antimony

Demon Head will play a release show on January 30th at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen. “A release ceremony will take place in Copenhagen when this year is newly dead. Tokens for the passage are available here: pumpehuset.dk

Never one to rest or relax, VADER have done it all over the course of their 37-year history. From playing super-aggressive thrash under the watchful eye of Communist Poland to touring the globe and enjoying a near-maniacal fanbase, there’s no stopping the Piotr ‘Peter’ Wiwczarek-led outfit. Speed and power are back as the driving factors in VADER’s fiendish yet proficient death metal!

For Solitude in Madness, VADER went outside their comfort zone to Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England, where the band teamed up with one-stop-shop Scott Atkins to engineer, produce, mix, and master for four weeks in summer 2019.

Australia’s premiere progressive metal act VOYAGER are now releasing a new performance video for the track ‘Severomance’! The video is taken from the recent ‘Department of Riffs and Synths’ online performance and can be viewed HERE.

The band recently performed the online show, inspired by the legislation that was passed in Australia that prevented them from touring their latest album, ‘Colours in the Sun’. The show was initially taken down on November 1st, but due to popular demand the show has been put back online for fans who wished to watch again, and for those who missed out. Tickets for the full show can be purchased HERE.

The band comment “We really enjoyed experiencing a new kind of live experience, and it was beautiful seeing fans join us all around the world. We don’t know what the future holds, but right now we’re going to make the best of it and try to unite us and our fans in an alternative way. Right now it’s looking positive for our Australian tour in February and we’re taking this show for a test run on December 12th at Milk Bar in Perth”

VOYAGER previously announced the rescheduled dates for their Australian headline tour, which will now happen in February 2021. The full list of newly confirmed dates can be found below.

Vocalist Danny comments on the tour: “You know what helps build something more than waiting? Waiting some more! So just as we were super excited to tour “Colours in the Sun” around Australia in May 2020, we are going to be at least twice as excited to bring it to you in 2021. We are going to be raring to burn off those isolation pounds on stage and bring you a smorgasbord of pent up Voyagerisms; more than ever, live music will have a whole new meaning and I can’t wait to see everyone’s smiles, some new 80s hairdos and some inflatable keytars – Runaway until 2021 Australia, see you soon(ish).”

VOYAGER live

13 Feb 21 Brisbane (AU) The Zoo
19 Feb 21 Adelaide (AU) Jive
