Dutch Symphonic Metal Giants EPICA just announced the release of their new album “Omega”, out on February 26th 2021 via Nuclear Blast.  “Omega” is the band’s first studio album in five years. Last month,  EPICA have also released the first single and video clip from the album, titled ‘Abyss Of Time’, which was viewed on YouTube over a million times within its first week.

Today, EPICA reveal the first album trailer, discussing the video to their second single ‘Freedom – The Wolves Within’.

Keyboard player Coen Janssen comments: “Our newest video ‘Freedom’ tells the age-old story of the battle between good and evil in the form of an old Cherokee legend. We are very pleased on how the animated video not only tells this story, but also incorporates all the symbolism from that legend and the EPICA-universe! I can’t wait to play this one live on stage so lets all feed our white wolf and stay strong and we’ll see you soon!”

VERDE LAURO Release New Video For ‘Or Che l’ciel e la terra’

‘6 Aprile’ is the second album from VERDE LAURO – formed by the Italian-Swiss singer Fabrizio Sassi – the follow up for the debut album ‘Son animali al mondo’ which saw the participation of numerous guests, including Roberto Tiranti and Alessandro Del Vecchio.

Unlike ‘Son animali al mondo’, this second chapter was designed and created to be played live. The orchestrations were reduced and the verses were selected to be repeated in chorus.

Today the band has release a new and funny video for ‘Or Che l’ciel e la terra’, watch it below.

At the level of compositions, those that narrate another passage from the neverending story were chosen and in particular the passages that play on the root of the name Laura. Precisely for this reason “6 Aprile” is perhaps a less elaborate and symphonic album than its predecessor but this is its strong point, the “song” form of its pieces, much more powerful and direct.

Petrarch meets Laura for the first time on April 6, 1327. Laura dies on April 6, 1348. The numbers of the Canzoniere are part of the story and are used symbolically. No number is random. Starting with the fragments that make up the mosaic. 366. Like a year that repeats itself forever.

As for the lineup, Andrea Grumelli joined (in the first album the bass was played by guitarists) and Federico De Zani took over the drums. Mattia Stancioiu (Ex Labyrinth) preferred to stay behind the mixer and give up the pedals, but NEVER take away the production!

The guests are Morby from Domine and Marcello Zappatore on guitar. Drakkar singer Davide dell’Orto has become a full member of the group. Laura’s identity is always a secret and also appears in some passages of this record.

COLLATERAL Release New Single ‘Can’t Hold Me Down’ On November 27th

COLLATERAL are back with a vengeance with their most powerfully uplifting and empowering single to date “Can’t Hold Me Down.” The new single, released by Roulette Media on Friday November 27, 2020 is now available to pre-save from https://smarturl.it/Collateralcantholdme.

The single was recorded and produced by Collateral and mixed by Grammy Nominated producer and engineer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Funeral For A Friend, Motorhead).

“Can’t Hold Me Down” is also the first piece of new material to feature Collateral’s expanded six-piece line-up which includes new members Robert Fenning (keyboards) and Louis Malagodi (guitar) alongside original members Angelo Tristan (lead vocals, guitar), Todd Winger (guitar), Jack Bentley-Smith (bass), and Ben Atkinson (drums).

The new single symbolises hope in a world that has seen industries, businesses and even families collapse in recent months due the pandemic. “Can’t Hold Me Down“’s message inspires individuals to always be their best, no matter what the obstacles are, no matter what is thrown at them.

Says Collateral front man Angelo Tristan, “Many bands were struck hard at the start of the year with Collateral being struck half way through their debut album tour that reached Top 5 in the Official UK Rock Charts so there is no surprise that frustration would lead to an empowering full out rock song that would hopefully inspire people across the world to keep focus on the light at the end of the tunnel… and that is exactly what they have done.”

“Can’t Hold Me Down is a song that has many layers and stories that ultimately comes back to one thing, ‘I won’t be held down’,” says Angelo. Starting with the lyric, “I used to be the one with my head in the clouds, chasing the dream to write the perfect rhyme,” to the monstrous multi-voice ‘Queen’ style chorus with “You Can’t Hold Me Down.”

“We didn’t want to write a typical ‘Covid’ song. What’s the point?” says Angelo. “The 6 o’clock news is doing that for you day in day out. People don’t need that right now. Some people might see this as a rebellious track. Maybe it is.  Our intention is only to try and inspire people to get through the other side of this with a track that brings comfort and a hard pounding beat.”

“Can’t Hold Me Down” is different from the other singles that we have released. It’s less angry than “Lullaby,” it’s more modern than “Mr Big Shot,” it has more balls than “Midnight Queen,” and it completely contradicts “Merry Go Round.”  I think our fans are beginning to see a variation starting to appear in our sound and writing which is keeping everyone on their toes, including the band.”

Wollongong, Australia based punks THE CULTURE INDUSTRY have released their new single Middle Aged Kids via Riot Records.  The Culture Industry delivers us a blend of old and new school punk with a grungy overtone. It is fun, good time vibes, full of humour and character… but still PUNK!

“This Grungy pop-punk satire track is a tribute to the girl ten years younger than us who called us Middle Aged Kids”  – The Culture Industry

Stream/buy Middle Aged Kids HERE

The Culture Industry is an Australian Punk-Grunge band from the sunny South Coast of NSW. Based in Wollongong these larrikins have been kicking around since 2014, and after a few line-up changes the band currently consists of Gnarly on rhythm guitar/ lead vocals, Nagy on bass/vocals, Leemoss on drums/vocals and new addition Arrian shredding on lead guitar like it’s nobody’s business.

Having known each other for almost 20 years, and from also playing in previous bands together, T.C.I. have developed an intense chemistry both on and off the stage, solidifying a strong reputation in the underground scene.

With a DIY hardworking ethos, these middle-aged-kids have played internationally abroad and even more at home around Sydney, Canberra, and the East Coast of Australia. With onstage banter that is as much a part of their live show as their music, these charismatic scumbags are always keen for a laugh and a good time. Play hard. Party hard. It’s time to get Cultured in the Industrial sense of the word!!

“They are without a doubt one of the few bands I know around Wollongong keeping the punk scene alive and kicking.”
– Behind the Scene
“Wollongong outfit The Culture Industry’s debut album is to the point, unrelenting, and hard-hitting as ever, solidifying their head thrashing status.”
– Happy Mag
