Volcano Records & Promotion is proud to present ‘Shades Of Past’, the new single by Italian progressive metal band FOR MY DEMONS, now available on all digital platforms.
Anticipating the upcoming album “Tristesse”, ‘Shades Of Past’ reveals the strength and character of a seasoned band that has been active on the Italian scene for several years and recently joined the Volcano roster.
Today, For My Demons return with renewed maturity and a distinctive sonic approach that blends progressive impulses with dark and introspective tones. The single is part of a broader concept dedicated to the life of Vincent Van Gogh, which the band is preparing to unveil. It tells the story of a fragile and troubled love, dominated by misunderstanding and guilt. Charity mistaken for sin, compassion turned into condemnation, betrayal, wounds, and miscommunication paint an oppressive scenario — like a nightmare that digs into the darkest corners of the human psyche. Shades Of Past is a deep and emotional track, and also a clear musical statement, combining solid instrumental foundations with haunting melodic vocal lines that leave a lasting mark.
Progressive alternative rock band Trope announce the release of their deeply personal and emotionally charged new single, “Sigil.” Written and recorded in part in London, Ontario, Sigil was tracked in a small, cold 400 sq. ft. cabin during the winter, a process that shaped its intimacy and emotional depth.
‘Sigil‘ grew from Diana Studenberg’s own journey of self-doubt and perseverance. “Growing up with voices that said I couldn’t be a singer, I struggled with internal resistance and fear of failure which became a source of inspiration – a reminder that it’s okay to fail, to stumble, and to keep trying,” Studenberg explains.
The song tells not only that story, but also a universal one: of anyone whose dreams are belittled or who has struggled to believe in themselves, and of the quiet courage it takes to trust that persistence and faith can carry you through even the darkest moments. ‘Sigil‘ is about giving ourselves permission to suck – to fall flat and step back up to the plate. Sigil touts – fail, mess up, but please keep doing anyway. In essence, it’s a song about Faith and belief even when you have none.
In an age of AI and creative shortcuts, Trope took their time, sweating over every instrumental note, vocal line, lyric, and mix over the course of 3 years to create Sigil. Moonhead, Trope’s producer and guitarist says, “’Sigil‘, and the whole of DYAD album for that matter, is truly an indie handmade thing. No fancy studios, no big team. Just two people and a few favours from people we respect to guest on the album (Drummers Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) and Gunnar Olsen (Puscifer)). We made this thing in living rooms, makeshift spaces, through thrift store speakers and old friends’ couches. And we love the results and hope you do too.”
True to the mantra of ‘Sigil‘, Trope rise from the ashes of personal pain and angst. Musically, ‘Sigil’ is as progressive as it is emotive – traversing soaring melodic passages, heavy and intricate instrumental sections in odd-time signatures, acoustic breakdowns, massive riffs, melodic bass lines and even a rhythmically charged mantra finale that captures the band’s evolution from their 2021 debut ‘Eleutheromania’.

With their mesmerizing sound echoing across the Mongolian steppe, breakthrough Mongolian rockers UUHAI have signed their first album deal with Napalm Records! Following viral success and millions of views on their very first songs, the seven-piece band is back—ready to unleash their long-awaited debut album, Human Herds, on January 9, 2026. Drawing from both the imposing history and awe-inspiring nature of Mongolia while reflecting on their roots and modern society alike, UUHAI presents a heartfelt love letter to their homeland—all in their native Mongolian language.
The first single from the powerful new album is the eponymous track, “Uuhai”. Blending traditional instrumentation such as throat singing and horsehead fiddle with a driving modern rock sound, the song fiercely recounts how ancient Mongolia drew its strength from a deep connection to nature, repelling both evil spirits and rival nations. The song culminates with the band chanting their name, a phrase that translates to a traditional battle cry for good fortune.
European fans will have a chance to chant along with the band during their upcoming tour with label mates NANOWAR OF STEEL. See below for all scheduled tour dates!
UUHAI about “Uuhai”: “From the ancient felt dwellings of the nomads to the storm winds that tie down spirits, UUHAI carries the voice of a nation. A cry of fire, steel, and blood, it honors the mountains, rivers, and sky that gave rise to the Mongol spirit.”
Human Herds impresses with far more than just a language and instruments unfamiliar to most ears. It is a reverent invitation into the heart of Mongolia that you won’t get anywhere else, buoyant and powerful in both storytelling and musical delivery. With deep gratitude and respect, UUHAI creates an emotional ode to nature and delivers a grassroots message to society: this debut album is a powerful reminder that on this earth, we are all the same.
UUHAI about Human Herds: “Human Herds is a reflection on the unstoppable tide of humanity—our migrations, our revolts, our worship, and our wounds upon the Earth. Yet in our chaos, we must remember: we all live under one sun and one moon on Earth, sharing the same fragile home.”
On the new album, UUHAI steps into the role of perceptive storytellers, guiding listeners through the spirit and soundscape of the Far East. Following a tone-setting, appropriately atmospheric intro is the title track, “Human Herds”. A galloping hard rock anthem calling upon the forefathers, it first offers colorful descriptions of nature’s beauty along with the urge to take better care of weeping Mother Earth instead of watching her destruction, delivered in haunting antiphony—the overarching theme of the album. “Uuhai” snarlingly tells the tale of how Mongolia historically drew its strength from said connection with its surroundings, dispersing both evil spirits and other nations. It culminates in the band chanting their name, which translates to a common battle cry for good fortune—which European fans will have a chance to join in on during the upcoming tour. Sweeping “Khar Khulz” offers passages to sing along with and simultaneously conjures up images in your mind that will have you booking the next flight to Ulaanbaatar. Throughout their diverse first album, UUHAI show an imposing ability to both create intimate settings that have us witness age-old rituals and deliver catchy hits as a heavy rock troupe. “Secret History Of The Mongols” wraps up the journey. Named after the oldest surviving literary work in the Mongolic language, dated to the late 1220s, the final track seduces with an enticing atmosphere, an emotional guitar solo, and another round of goosebump-inducing “uuhai” chants, invoking a collectively bright future.

Before EVERGREY embark on their European tour with KATATONIA, the Swedish metal titans return with a new song, “OXYGEN!”, channeling their essence with renewed intensity. Blending eerie atmospheres and crushing riffs, it delves into themes of depression and inner struggle. Fueled by their new drummer, Simen Sandnes, a fresh production team with Tom S. Englund and Vikram Shankar (Within Temptation, Silent Skies), and the mix of Adam “Nolly” Getgood – known for his work with giants like Periphery, Sleep Token and Architects – EVERGREY sound as vital as they did at their start, yet fiercely modern. “OXYGEN!” becomes both a desperate plea for resilience amidst darkness and a cathartic release – a visceral cry for air in the suffocating grip of turmoil.
Come Monday, November 10, EVERGREY will bring the new single to stages across Europe and the UK. Teaming up with label mates KATATONIA, and with support from Klogr, they will play 32 shows, starting in the Finnish city of Turku and closing their six-week run shortly before Christmas in their home country’s capital, Stockholm. Find the list of dates below!
EVERGREY about “OXYGEN!”: “We’re thrilled to unleash our new single, ‘OXYGEN!’. This is EVERGREY at our most explosive – almost certainly our heaviest track yet, packed with crushing riffs, vibrant key changes, and soaring melodies that’ll awaken your soul. Lyrically, it embodies the raw, suffocating weight of an inner darkness, yet symbolizes the relentless never-ending war to break free and grasp that fleeting breath of hope. We’ve bled for this one and can’t wait for you to live in its intensity. Because this is us, like you’ve never heard before!”
