Robben Ford releases his beautiful new album Two Shades of Blue today via Provogue/Artone. To celebrate, he also drops the luminous instrumental title-track, which you can listen to HERE.
 
Robben Ford is a man in motion. Scan the five-time Grammy nominee’s back catalogue – a half-century hot-streak that darts between jazz, rock, fusion and blues – and you’ll find a musician in a constant state of metamorphosis. Spin new album Two Shades Of Blue – a transatlantic modern classic that shapeshifted as the sessions unfolded – and you’ll feel the risks taken and rules broken. “I have that curse,” smiles the guitarist. “I don’t have two records that sound the same…”

With a new album, Robben feels at the top of his game right now. But, Two Shades Of Blue is not the album Ford was planning to make – but it’s all the better for it. Tracked in the US and UK with two different crack-squad bands, this album paints with his inimitable palette, from the low-slung funk-blues of lead single Make My Own Weather to skyscraping instrumentals such as Two Shades of Blue that even test the limits of a player ranked amongst the 100 Greatest Guitarists Of The 20th Century by Musician Magazine.  
 
The new single features Ford alongside drummer Ianto Thomas (Mark Knopfler) and keys man Jonny Henderson (Otis Grand).

“Two Shades of Blue is one of the songs written in tribute to Jeff Beck for the new album of the same name. Jeff played music of many different moods, and I felt this gospel feeling coming through, and just ran with it. The record is also dedicated to Alexander Dumble, and the four double stop notes that open the song literally speak the title, referring to the loss of these two brilliant men – Two Shades of Blue. That was an auspicious coincidence that surprised even me.  The recording session with Ianto Thomas and Jonny Henderson went very smoothly, and Jonny plays a great solo at the end on the B3 Organ”.
 
The title-track is the final single to be taken from the album, following the brass-bolstered soul ballad,  ‘Perfect Illusion’, which delivers a performance that feels both radiant and timeless.

Loading into Eastcote Studios with engineer George Murphy, the chemistry is palpable, with Ford’s guitar and vocals leading a first-call band that takes in drummer Ianto Thomas (Mark Knopfler), keys man Jonny Henderson (Otis Grand), bassist Robin Mullarkey (Paloma Faith) and a brass section comprising of Paul  Booth (saxophone), Ryan Quigley (trumpet) and Trevor Mires (trombone). “Great cats,” smiles Ford. “London has been incredible for finding musicians. This place is loaded, even better for me than Nashville or LA.”
 
The album also features the incredible talents of bassist, Darryl Jones (The Rolling Stones), Keyboardist Larry Goldings and Gary Husband on drums for the instrumental songs, The Fire Flute, The Light Fandango and Feeling’s Mutual.

From a young man in Los Angeles with jazz giant Jimmy Witherspoon, to the adventurism of saxophonist Tom Scott’s esteemed ’70s fusion outfit, The L.A. Express, Ford has always trod his own path.
 
This led him to be recruited by Joni Mitchell for two classic albums (“the most formative two years of my musical life”), before he stepped out with rock royalty on George Harrison’s Dark Horse tour. That collaborative streak would continue throughout his career, from Bonnie Raitt to Bob Dylan. “I’m out there on the bandstand and this rocket ship takes off,” he recalls of his mid-’80s debut with jazz talisman Miles Davis. “For my solo, I put my head down and played every note I knew, as fast as I could. I look up, and Miles just goes: ‘Yeah’. And I’m like, ‘OK, he likes it’.”
 
Ford’s career has kept sparking because he never made the safe moves, and Two Shades of Blue is another masterful addition to his already glorious catalogue.

Los Angeles symphonic metal act Anthea celebrates the release of their highly anticipated third studio album “Beyond The Dawn” via Rockshots Records with the unveiling of the lyric video for “Wanderer’s Quell”, one of the record’s most intense and emotionally charged tracks.

Daedric adds her own dark chapter to Celldweller‘s “Elaleth” (feat. Matt Heafy), out now from FiXT.

The original track “Elaleth” from Celldweller and Trivium’s Matthew Kiichi Heafy, which premiered at Revolver Mag, was only the beginning. Daedric’s remix of “Elaleth” amplifies the track’s cinematic weight, reshaping its atmosphere into something darker. Originally introduced as part of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise soundtrack and spotlighted with a soaring, emotionally charged guitar solo from Matthew Kiichi Heafy of Trivium, the remix features heavier instrumentation in a denser, more haunting electronic framework. Vocals from both Daedric and Celldweller interplay creating a dichotic, ethereal versus visceral framework that heightens the track’s intensity and emotional depth.

King Kraken is a four-piece Rock/Metal band from South Wales, UK. In April 2025 they released their second album, ‘March of the Gods’, which saw two of their singles, Hero and March of the Gods receive national airplay on Planet Rock and Kerrang Radio. The band received universally positive reviews for March of the Gods in the Rock and Metal press, including Kerrang! and a feature in Metal Hammer Magazine.

The band has a seriously strong CV on the live circuit, playing numerous prestigious events across the UK including Bloodstock, Call of the Wild, Planet Rock’s Rockstock and a massive show in 2025’s Stonedead Festival. In December 2025 they were the first band to play the Bloodstock Winter Gathering event at the legendary KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton. The band has played with some heavyweight artists including The Almighty, The Dead Daisies, Crobot, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Monster Truck, The Sweet, Geoff Tate and Crowbar.

In 2026, King Kraken will be releasing new material having spent time in the studio with producer Romesh Dodangoda. They have a plethora of live shows booked, with a slot at Takedown Festival at Portsmouth Guildhall in April, a short tour with Fury in May, plus several other festivals include the opening slot at Steelhouse Festival in July. They follow that in August where they will play Chepstow Castle alongside with Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Chris Holmes (WASP) and the Tygers of Pan Tang.

With numerous events around the UK there is no sign of this train slowing down!

DOOMNEZEU Sign with Wormholedeath + Release New Single ‘Spânul’

Wormholedeath is pleased to announce the signing of Romanian doom metal band Doomnezeu to its roster. The band has entered a licensing agreement for the release of their forthcoming album “Dați drumul la cer”, with further details to be announced.

To mark the occasion, Doomnezeu has released “Spânul,” the first single from the album. The track is accompanied by a lyric video, available now on YouTube.

“Spânul” — “The Hairless” in English — takes its name from a recurring antagonist in Romanian fairy tales: a trickster figure who poses as a helper to the hero while covertly working against them. The band has described the song as a warning to lurking wrongdoers: God is always watching.

“Our deepest thanks to Wormholedeath for their gracious interest in our music!” The band stated. “We proudly announce that our upcoming album ‘Dați drumul la cer’ will be released on their Italian label. Beginning our journey together, we present to you the first single off the album, the song ‘Spânul’. This is a stark reminder to the lurking evildoers of the world: God is always watching. About Doomnezeu

Doomnezeu began as a studio project in 2019, with the release of ‘La Viflaim Colo-n Jos’, a doom metal reinterpretation of a haunting Romanian Christmas carol. The name is a play on the words ‘Doom’ and ‘Dumnezeu’ (‘God’ in Romanian), expressing the band’s musical style and Christian message.

Over the next few years, the band released original songs on a regular basis, developing their mix of doom metal and ecclesiastical orthodox music. The first 6 of these songs were later released as a debut album in 2023, named simply ‘Doomnezeu’. The band was already touring Romania by this time, bringing a theatrical approach to live shows that had been missing in the Romanian metal scene up until then: masks, robes, secret identities, and ritualistic performances.

The year 2024 saw the release of a split album of epic breadth and scope, ‘Atotțiitorul’. For this release, Doomnezeu teamed up with Church of Cthulhu to deliver a story about the journey from the bottom of Hell to the peaks of Heaven.

In 2025, they released their latest album, ‘Al Doilea Legământ’, an EP containing 4 songs recorded live in the studio in August 2023, marking the moment of Doomnezeu’s transformation from a studio project into a full-fledged band. The band records and tours on a regular basis, and all artwork, merch, packaging and branding is designed in-house.

Doomnezeu has until now released 3 albums, all on CD and Vinyl and has toured multiple times across the entirety of Romania. The band had their major festival debut last Summer at Rockstadt Extreme Fest, and are currently recording for their next full-length album, ‘Dați drumul la cer’, set to be released on Italian label Wormholedeath.
