Swedish power metal force TUNGSTEN are ready to unleash their fifth studio album “Ashes”, set for release on October 9 via PERCEPTION – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music, and celebrate the announcement with their brand-new video single “Joker.” The band has further revealed co-headline tour dates with INDUCTION; find all dates listed below!

About the new single, guitarist Nick Johansson remembers; “In 2015 I randomly stumbled across a clip of Franzl Lang. I was seriously impressed by how insanely good he was at yodeling, so I went through a short Franzl phase. Not long after that I was standing by a lake with a perfect echo and decided to try a little yodel myself. It sounded absolutely terrible, of course but, I immediately understood the technique. Since then I’ve only yodeled for fun now and then. Somehow, after almost 10 years of casual nonsense-yodeling, it has quietly improved on its own.”

Lead singer Mike Andersson adds; “Joker” is a real stompy banger! I’ll never forget the reactions from our friends and partners at Reigning Phoenix Music when we played them the demo over dinner in Stuttgart. The excitement around the table was amazing.

Following a strong entry into the metal scene with their 2019 debut “We Will Rise” and a steady rise through albums like “Tundra,” and “Bliss,” the band now return with a powerful new chapter. Between touring and live performances throughout 2025, TUNGSTEN focused on writing material for their upcoming album, aiming to create a worthy follow-up to 2024’s “The Grand Inferno.”

“Ashes” sees TUNGSTEN continue their crusade, delivering irresistible metal with anthemic choruses and a fresh surge of energy that pushes their signature sound even further. The album captures everything the band stands for: powerful songwriting, massive hooks, and a dynamic mix of melody and heaviness that makes it one of their strongest and most focused releases to date!

MELANCHOLOST Release New Single & Video ‘The Book Of Thoth’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 10, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: MELANCHOLOST. Leave a comment

Melancholost is a German occult rock & metal project founded by musician and producer Sven The Axe. Known for his long-standing work as the frontman of the heavy-metal band Solemnity, Sven launched Melancholost as a darker, more atmospheric outlet for his musical and lyrical ideas.

Emerging from the underground German rock and metal scene, Melancholost blends elements of occult rock, gothic atmosphere, and melancholic dark rock, creating a sound that stands apart from Sven’s earlier heavy-metal work. While Solemnity built its reputation on classic heavy metal themes of battle and dark fantasy, Melancholost explores more introspective territory – ritualistic symbolism, mysticism, existential melancholy, and the shadowy aesthetics of occult traditions.

Today, MELANCHOLOST release their new single & video for the song “The Book Of Thoth“.

“Just one more week until my new project, MELANCHOLOST, is unveiled! Here’s a second track from it called “The Book Of Thoth”, inspired by the great Aleister Crowley and his work on the legacy of ancient Egypt. This dark track burrows straight into your brain and you can feel the energy flowing down your spine. Most of you probably only think of magic when you hear Crowley’s name – even black magic – but that’s utter nonsense. Did you know he was a master of yoga and other arts, and that he invented his own tarot deck?”, asks Sven the Axe and explains about the video: “I love the possibilities of creating cool visualisations for songs with the help of AI, as you can turn any story into moving images, no matter how surreal it is. I also love Alex’s organic drums on this track, which are wonderfully pounding and heavy, just like the old Solitude Aeternus days!”

Musically, Melancholost is characterized by haunting melodies, slow-burning guitar riffs, and a brooding vocal style that balances theatrical intensity with introspective melancholy. The project draws inspiration from the darker corners of rock and metal history, combining vintage occult rock moods with modern atmospheric production.

As a creative vehicle, Melancholost allows Sven to take on a broader role beyond performance—handling songwriting, conceptual themes, and artistic direction. The project reflects his long experience within the German underground metal scene while opening a new chapter focused on mood, symbolism, and emotional depth.

Though still relatively obscure, Melancholost represents an evolution of Sven’s artistic identity: a project dedicated to the intersection of dark rock, esoteric imagery, and melancholic atmosphere.

The album was recorded as a trio featuring two close friends on drums and additional keyboards that like to stay anonymous while Sven performed everything else.

It is planned to play several hand selected haunted stage shows if there is request so watch out for a ground breaking stage experience concept to be released.

RESTLESS SPIRIT Drop New Self-titled Album “Restless Spirit”, Out Now

on May 8, 2026, RESTLESS SPIRIT released their acclaimed self-titled album, which among more great early reviews, scored #3 in the soundcheck of Metal.de, an 8/10 in Belgian print magazine Rock Tribune, and a strong 9/10 from US based AllFatherMetal.com.
You can get the album at THIS LOCATION

“Restless Spirit” arrives just ahead of the band’s massive co-headling US-tour with GOZU that kicks off at the Alchemy in Providence, RI on MAY 12, 2026.

Listen to ‘Restless Spirit’ here:

RESTLESS SPIRIT comment: “This record is the culmination of more than a decade of hard work“, Paul Aloisio states on behalf of the band. “We’ve taken everything we’ve learned out on the road and in the studio and put it towards creating something that means a hell of a lot to us. This is our heaviest, most emotional album to date, and we sincerely hope it resonates with you all. Thanks for sticking around for the ride, and come see us on tour!“

Tracklist
1. The Burning Need
2. Hallowed
3. Red in Tooth and Claw
4. Desire Lines
5. Desolation’s Wake
6. Ember
7. Time and Distance
8. Phantom Pain

With their self-titled full-length, RESTLESS SPIRIT have reached a point in their career where the band of friends from Long Island, New York knows exactly who they are and where they stand. As the eight tracks on “Restless Spirit” are the most distilled version of what the trio is about, they saw no need for further explanation in the title.

So, what are RESTLESS SPIRIT about? Pure metal, no more, no less. Born from the steel mills of Birmingham this musical style has deep English working class roots that the East Coast outfit translates into an American sonic slang with elements from desert and stoner metal and even the occasional progressive flourish. As a result, they seamlessly merge classic heavy solos with roaring guitars and a pinch of psychedelic fuzz.

RESTLESS SPIRIT also share a down to earth outlook with the British pioneers that values honesty and a no-nonsense approach to songwriting and lyrics. “Restless Spirit” mainly deals with the idea of perseverance through hardship, of pushing through and starting over when everything seems bleak. This makes the album a companion piece to its predecessor “Afterimage”, which revolved around descending into and giving in to growing despair.

RESTLESS SPIRIT grew out of childhood friendship. Frontman Paul Aloisio and bass player Marc Morello first met back in the summer before Kindergarten and grew up discovering music together. Influenced by such greats as BLACK SABBATH, TYPE O NEGATIVE, and THE SWORD, RESTLESS SPIRIT officially started out in 2019 when their album debut “Lord of the New Depression” was released. At the time, their sound fit equally well into the stoner, doom, and sludge moulds. On the following “Blood of the Old Gods” (2021), the three-piece evolved stylistically into a more varied, melodic approach with added complexities.

With the stated mission of never wanting to sound exactly like before, RESTLESS SPIRIT resorted to shorter, sharpened shocks that hit straight home on their acclaimed third album, “Afterimage”, in 2024. This album was driven by tragedy and personal loss with singer and guitarist Paul Aloisio putting his heart and soul into it.

In hindsight, the massive punch to the gut delivered by “Afterimage” set the trio onto a course that led directly to “Restless Spirit”. Trimming away all sonic fat, focusing on the essentials, and refining their sound and songwriting down to its heaviest core has yielded a record that promises to be timeless.

RESTLESS SPIRIT are throwing out a rescue rope to all headbangers and particularly those dealing with all the cruelty that life can bring. “Restless Spirit” is a call to persevere in the face of others not understanding or even outright rejection. This album is about living on one’s own terms, which was and is the essence of metal.

SOLEMNITY Releases New Single And Video ‘Escape From The Matrix’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 10, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SOLEMNITY. Leave a comment

SOLEMNITY is a German heavy metal band from the area of Ulm, founded in 1998 by vocalist Sven “The Axe”. The band quickly established a distinctive identity within the underground metal scene by combining traditional heavy metal with dark, horror-inspired themes and theatrical stage performances. Describing their music as “Heavy Horror Metal”, SOLEMNITY’s music draws heavily from classic heavy metal traditions while incorporating themes of horror, mythology, and dark fantasy. Their sound has often been compared to epic metal acts while maintaining a unique identity through theatrical imagery and concept-driven songwriting. With a discography spanning over a decade and a reputation for powerful live performances, SOLEMNITY remains a cult name within the European heavy metal underground and among fans of horror-themed metal and 2026 will see the Return of the Hairführer!

In the mid-2020s, SOLEMNITY unexpectedly re-emerged with new material and plans for a new album titled Opus Barbaricum, scheduled for release on May 15th, 2026. The revival marks the return of the band’s signature “Heavy Horror Metal” style and continues the dark, epic storytelling that defined their earlier work.

Today, SOLEMNITY reveal their new single and video clip for the track “Escape From The Matrix“. Watch the video here:

“Only one week left until the release of Solemnity’s “Opus Barbaricum” and here comes another song for you, called „Escape From The Matrix“. It was originally written in 2020 during the pandemic when a lot of things in the world felt completely surrealistic. It often reminded me on the books of Aldous Huxley and George Orwell, or even the „Matrix“ movie. Music has always been a kind of psychotherapy for me, so I started it all on the acoustic guitar before it turned to what is now: edgy guitars with, stomping drums, a driving bass and a fuckin´great singalong refrain. Enjoy it”, comments Sven The Axe and continues: “Before anyone is asking again, it is an AI video yes and I simply love it, as you get a really cool visualizer for decent money and I´m literally sick of people playing guitars in the woods, in videos without electricty. Not every move may makes sense and sometimes you even got logical problems, but I could tell you the story of how we did the „Axe Attack“ video 20 years ago and we almost had two dead people in one day. So pardon me, this is even a much safer way.”

The Early Years

SOLEMNITY was formed in the winter of 1998 and began gaining recognition through energetic live shows and a strong visual aesthetic influenced by classic horror imagery. Their early recordings helped them build a dedicated following within the European heavy metal underground. A first demo release in 1999 introduced the band’s dark and epic sound, combining powerful vocals, traditional heavy metal riffing, and dramatic lyrical themes inspired by horror literature, mythology, and fantasy.

Rise in the Metal Underground

The band’s debut album Reign in Hell (2001) marked the beginning of a series of concept-driven releases that solidified SOLEMNITY’s reputation as one of Germany’s more theatrical heavy metal acts. This was followed by King of Dreams (2003), which further expanded their horror-themed lyrical universe and showcased a more refined epic metal sound. SOLEMNITY headlined the first ever Keep It True cult Festival in 2003.

Throughout the mid-2000s, the band continued to develop musically and visually with albums such as Shockwave of Steel (2005) and the EP Another Bloody Sabbath (2006). In 2007, SOLEMNITY also collaborated with members of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, recording a classical interpretation of the Bathory song “One Rode to Asa Bay,” demonstrating their interest in combining metal with orchestral elements.

The album Lords of the Damned (2008) became one of the band’s most recognized releases, featuring dramatic compositions and a darker, more atmospheric production. The band’s concerts during this period became known for elaborate stage shows and pyrotechnics, reinforcing their horror-themed identity.

Final Album and Hiatus

In 2012, SOLEMNITY released Circle of Power, which was initially announced as the band’s final studio album. Around the same time, the group performed what was intended to be their farewell show at the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany before entering a long hiatus.

After several years of inactivity, the band was officially declared disbanded in 2018. However, unreleased material from previous recording sessions continued to circulate among fans, keeping interest in the band alive within the heavy metal community.

Swedish royal metal band REXORIA are proud to release their new studio album, ‘Fallen Dimension,’ out now via Sound Pollution / Black Lodge Records. To celebrate the announcement, the band also share the new single “Metallic Rain,” alongside a visualizer.

Grand choruses, captivating lyrics and emotional weight meet raw power and intensity in an album that clearly showcases the band’s evolution and ambition. As the follow-up to the acclaimed ‘Imperial Dawn,’ REXORIA’s fourth album marks the beginning of a new era, where the sound moves between the darkness of war, social reflections, touching ballads and euphoric metal anthems.

Strong tracks such as “Break the Wave,” “Dancing On the Ruins,” and “Metallic Rain” offer melodies that instantly stay with the listener, while the album also features two exclusive duets: Mike Andersson (Tungsten) appears on “Dominion,” and Johnny Gioeli (Axel Rudi Pell / Hardline) guests on “Heart of Sorrow,” adding further dynamics and depth to the overall experience.

Even before its release, ‘Fallen Dimension’ has been praised by reviewers. With comments such as “deliver top-notch power metal. Frontwoman Frida Ohlin’s vocals are impeccable,” and “this is an album that will make the rest of the world take notice,” it is clear that the album has the potential to reach a wide audience within the metal scene.

‘Fallen Dimension’ is mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (Sabaton, Dynazty and others) and delivers eleven strong tracks that combine modern production with REXORIA’s grand identity.

With more than 120 concerts across Europe, appearances at Sweden Rock Festival and millions of streams, REXORIA further strengthens their position as one of Sweden’s most powerful names within modern metal.

With their sights set on reaching even more fans both in Sweden and internationally, the band is now making major plans for upcoming live performances across Europe. With a completely unique image, an original concept and their self-created expression “Royal Metal,” there is no doubt that REXORIA is a name that will generate great interest in the metal world.

SARCASM Release Final Track ‘Plunge Into A Paradox’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 10, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SARCASM. Leave a comment

Swedish death metal outfit Sarcasm are now releasing the third and final track of their upcoming album Lifeforce Omnibound, which will be released on 29th May via Hammerheart Records. The new single ‘Plunged Into A Paradox’ is now streaming via the label’s YouTube channel at the link below.

Pre-order Lifeforce Omnibound here: https://sarcasm.lnk.to/lifeforceomnibound

Sarcasm is one of those Swedish death metal acts that’s difficult to pin down. Labels like “Swedeath” and “melodic death metal” only tell part of the story, the band has deliberately avoided those safe categories. Instead, Sarcasm embraces a broad spectrum of metal while remaining uncompromisingly extreme.

The current quartet behind Lifeforce Omnibound bears little resemblance to the band’s early ’90s incarnation, which released several demos through 1994, recorded a debut full-length, and then split up until 2015, when that first album finally saw the light of day. Now on their sixth album, Sarcasm pushes the boundaries yet again. The combination of intense speed, complex riffing, and genuine catchiness cements them among the genre’s top tier.

The eight tracks on Lifeforce Omnibound capture Sarcasm at their highest level, both musically and in terms of production. While the effectively straightforward four-minute opener “Essence of Existence” hits hard and fast, much of the record leans into greater complexity. With an average runtime of over five minutes per song, the material allows room for structural twists and detailed touches that sustain interest throughout repeated listens. The album was once again mixed and mastered by renowned producer Lawrence Mackrory.

Sarcasm is currently a four-piece, and due to time constraints, Anders will no longer participate as a recording member, though he will remain with the band as a live member going forward. Since the band’s resurrection, only one member from the earlier era has remained: vocalist Heval Bozarslan. Exploring otherworldly themes once more, Heval does not seek credit for the lyrics; according to him, the words were channeled from a higher force, delivering answers across eight distinct topics. Ethereal and metaphysical themes have long been part of Sarcasm’s identity, but this time the lyrics are less metaphorical and more direct. Over the album’s 40-minute journey, doorways open, revealing a remarkable range of atmosphere and depth that few bands can achieve.

Track-list:
1. Essence of Existence
2. Altering the Perception
3. The Reward of Adversity
4. Crumbling Mind Edifice
5. Plunged Into a Paradox
6. Wayward Fragments of Infinite Divisibility
7. A Concept Older Than Time
8. Empirical Life Metaphysical

CD bonustracks:
9. Be Dead
10. Onslaught Without Mercy (Damien Cover)

Line-up:
Heval Bozarslan – Vocals
Peter Laitinen – Guitars
Philip Borg – Bass
Jesper Ojala – Drums
