THE SAMUEL JACKSON FIVE Release Final Single ‘ICU’ from Upcoming Album “A Passage to Elsewhere”

Karisma Records is proud to announce the new album from the Norwegian instrumental art/prog/post-rock quintet The Samuel Jackson Five, their first full length album in nearly a decade. The band returns with “A Passage to Elsewhere”, which is set to be released on Karisma Records on the 30th of October.

While associated with the more cinematic and textural post-rock scene, The Samuel Jackson Five have since their 2004 debut “Same Same But Different” always operated on the outside of the genre’s gravitational pull. Continuing their open-minded musical journey, the band fully embraces their instrumental roots this time.

The third single from the album is the track “ICU” which you can check out here: https://orcd.co/sj5-icy

The Samuel Jackson Five has this to say about “ICU”:
ICU is the final single before the release of the full album, and the first song recorded for the album. Also our longest track to date.
Rooted in our love of psychedelic rock, krautrock and Kosmiche musik, and the hypnotic joy of playing a phrase over and over until it dissolves and starts to transform.
The title operates as both: I see you and Intensive Care Unit, us deciding if we should pull the plug on the project or give it one last jolt. Recorded just before the onset of the pandemic, the track grew from an inspired jam session following a family emergency and a trip to the ICU, which fortunately resolved well. That sense of tension, release and overload runs throughout the piece.

Drawing from Kosmische Musik, ‘70s progressive rock, vintage library music, the jazz-inflected post-rock of Chicago and Toronto, imaginary folk, and experimental electronica, the result is a rich sonic tapestry. Rather than building towards predictable crescendos, “A Passage to Elsewhere” unfolds as an adventurous ever-shifting melodic journey, inviting the listener deeper in with each turn.

Staying true to the DIY ethos of earlier albums, the album was produced and recorded by the group, led by multi-instrumentalist Thomas Meidell and drummer Sven Andrén, the latter handling mixing at Klokkereint, his studio right outside Gjøvik. Featuring a star team of musicians from the Norwegian prog, metal and experimental music scene: The Chronicles of Father Robin, Tusmørke and Suburban Savages. With contributions by a cast of great guest musicians and friends, some recurring as saxophonist Dag Stiberg (Trollfest, Now We’ve Got Members) and violinist Magnus Nielsen (Magnus Moriarty™), and other new faces like Ola Mile Bruland (Actionfredag, Jordsjø), Åsa Ree (Meer) and experimental musician Jenny Berger Myhre.

With artwork by visual artist David Crunelle, the tracklist for “A Passage to Elsewhere” is:
1. A Passage to Elsewhere
2. Temporary Happiness Revival
3. Mid-Rite Crisis
4. The Department of Intermediate Affairs
5. Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast
6. 1420 Svartskog
7. ICU
8. Bright Galaxies, Dark Matters

“A Passage to Elsewhere” will be released on the 30th of October in CD, Digital and Orange Vinyl formats, and is available to pre-order now from:

MYSTIFIER & HESSIAN Unleash “Absolute Fucking Possession” Split Album

Wormholedeath Records, in collaboration with Southern Soundclash Records, proudly announces Absolute Fucking Possession, the new split album bringing together black metal project Hessian and black metal icons Mystifier. Out now on all major digital platforms, this release marks a meeting of two forces from the underground, delivering an uncompromising dose of extreme metal and a release destined to stand as a significant chapter in the legacy of both bands.

For the first time in their legendary 37-year lifespan spanning from 1989 to 2026, Brazilian black/death gods MYSTIFIER have officially authorized the commercial release of live audio recordings. Breaking a near four-decade rule of absolute vault protection, this performance is paired with HESSIAN, the relentless vanguard of raw Atlanta black metal spearheaded by prolific executive multi-instrumentalist Laremy Wade (Utuk Xul).

Check out the music video for “Aphkallu – Abzu”:

MYSTIFIER (The Ancestral Cult of Brazilian Black/Death)
Origin: Salvador, Bahia, Brazil (Est. 1989)

Sonic Blueprint: Uncompromising, aggressive, ritualistic underground black/death metal steeped in legacy occult traditions.

Core Mastermind: Beelzeebubth (Founder, Composer, Guitarist)

Born in the fierce first wave of the South American underground explosion alongside legendary metal architects, Mystifier has spent 37 years operating as a sovereign, highly protected institution of global extreme music. Governed strictly by its sole constant mastermind, Beelzeebubth, the band has rejected the commodification of their live ritual output for nearly four decades. Known globally for landmark black metal opuses, Mystifier’s inclusion on Absolute Fucking Possession shatters their long-standing historical embargo on live commercial releases. Their side of the split delivers an exclusive, raw 2026 live document capturing the true, unedited, bestial energy of their stage desecrations. By breaking this multi-decade rule and directly composing and recording all instrumentation for Hessian’s final track, Mystifier permanently stamps this release as a true cross-generational passing of the torch.

HESSIAN (The Raw Atlanta Black Metal Vanguard)
Origin: Atlanta, Georgia, USA (The Black Horizon Circle)

Sonic Blueprint: A primal, no-frills, repetitive, hypnotic guitar style stripped to a savage core—violating mainstream metal production norms.

Core Mastermind: Laremy Wade / Utuk Xul (All Instruments & Vocals)

Hessian stands as the flagship sovereign entity of the Atlanta-based raw black metal collective known as the Black Horizon Circle. Birthed out of a desire to return to the primal, severe roots of early black metal, Hessian strips away modern sonic polishing in favor of pure, relentless aggression, utilizing a signature layout of rhythm guitars, drums, and vocals with zero bass tracks. Following an exceptionally prolific era that saw the project deploy a staggering wave of curated splits and underground cassette editions via Southern Soundclash Records, Hessian captured the global attention of the extreme sub-industry, resulting in a worldwide physical and digital distribution alliance with Wormholedeath Records. On Absolute Fucking Possession, Hessian stands side-by-side with global heritage metal royalty, matching Mystifier’s legendary live weight with an unyielding display of cold, misanthropic American black metal violence.

LAREMY WADE / UTUK XUL (The Extreme Music Syndicate Executive)
Moniker: Utuk Xul / Laremy the Hessian

Corporate Profile: Founder & Executive Director of Southern Soundclash Records; North American Division Manager for Wormholedeath Records.

Creative Footprint: Over 59 historical Hessian entries and 10 experimental electronic entries on the global metal archives.

Laremy Wade operates an absolute underground extreme music empire from the corporate headquarters of Atlanta, Georgia. As a multi-instrumentalist, respected reviewer, and visionary executive, Wade oversees a diverse network of creative and professional ventures. Wade handles all tracking, engineering, and execution for Hessian under his extreme pseudonym Utuk Xul, while simultaneously covering all physical manufacturing costs and global logistical pipelines for his boutique syndicate, Southern Soundclash Records. Wade’s deep international network spans from the historic Norwegian Helvete record shop ecosystem to Eastern Europe’s elite ZBMK circle. Having masterminded and distributed exactly 204 catalog releases up to ledger registration SSC204, Wade’s ultimate structural achievement is realized in this collaborative milestone, bridging raw DIY street-level ethos with major-label machinery.

Finnish hard rock veterans STUD has released a new live album, celebrating the band’s 40th anniversary. The album was recorded live at Bar Loose in Helsinki on April 24, 2026, capturing STUD at full power in their natural element – on stage. The set features songs from all five of the band’s studio albums, covering STUD’s journey from Out Of The Darkness (2013) to Under Silver Sky (2025).

The current line-up features Ari Toivanen (vocals), Mika Kansikas (guitar), Jari Behm (bass) and Stenda Kukkonen (drums).

As a special encore, the album takes a trip all the way back to 1986 with “Mä Haluun Elää”, the Finnish-language debut single that started STUD’s journey. Originally released by record company Finnlevy in 1986, the song has become a rare and highly sought-after piece of STUD history.

Formed in Helsinki in 1986, STUD is one of Finland’s longest-running hard rock stories. From the very beginning, the band stood out with its powerful guitar-driven sound, strong melodies and uncompromising live energy.

STUD’s original line-up released the single Mä Haluun Elää / Viimeinen Yö on Finnlevy in 1986. The release quickly gained attention, followed by extensive gigging, television appearances and a place in the finals of Finland’s Rock Championship in 1987. STUD also became one of the Finnish rock bands to tour Soviet Estonia during the late 1980s. After a short but eventful first chapter, the band eventually split up in 1989.

More than two decades later, the original members reunited and STUD returned to the stage. Since then, the band has released five studio albums — Out Of The Darkness (2013), Rust On The Rose(2014), Circle Of Lies (2017), War Of Power (2020) and Under Silver Sky (2025) — earning international radio play and strong reviews along the way. Their music combines classic hard rock and heavy metal with melodic hooks, high-pitched vocals, powerful guitar work and plenty of old-school rock’n’roll spirit.

Four decades after STUD first hit the stage, the message remains the same: turn it up, play it loud and keep the rock’n’roll alive.

STUD discography:

  1. Out of the Darkness (2013)
  2. Rust on the Rose (2014)
  3. Circle of Lies (2017)

Barcelona-based Estertor is streaming “Scumbags From Hell,” featuring Paul Lanerck (from Redshark) as a guest vocalist. This preview track serves as the second single from their third album, Evil Black Church, slated for October 23 via Black Lion Records on CD, vinyl, and digital formats; Cruel Gates Records will handle a limited cassette edition. The thrash/black/death album is a tribute to the works of the Italian Masters of Horror, including Lucio Fulci, Lamberto Bava, Mario Bava, and Michele Soavi.

Speaking about “Scumbags From Hell,” Estertor states:
“‘Scumbags From Hell’ is a double tribute.

“First of all, the lyrics are about the movie ‘Demons’ by Lamberto Bava and produced by Dario Argento.

“It’s an irreverent, macabre film with a spectacular soundtrack. It’s about how a movie theater becomes infested with angry demons that spit green slime.

“And on the other hand, we’re also paying tribute to Accept, specifically to ‘Fast As A Shark,’ a song that plays in the movie when the protagonist, riding a motocross bike, decapitates the demons with a katana.”

Watch the lyric video for “Scumbags From Hell” below, and access the single on your preferred digital/streaming platform HERE.

Evil Black Church is entirely dedicated to the great classics of Italian horror cinema, including The Church, Demons, Black Sunday, The Beyond, and Stage Fright, and centered around the figure of the Devil, evil, and blasphemy in the seventh art. It is Estertor’s own Necronomicon of classic cinema, featuring new compositional elements, with influences ranging from Bathory, Celtic Frost, and Sodom to American death metal bands such as Massacre and Obituary, alongside guitar solos worthy of the most macabre heavy metal.

Pre-Order Evil Black Church on vinyl, CD, and digital, as well as band merchandise, from your preferred distributors HERE.

Estertor emerged from the darkness at the beginning of 2016, comprised of veteran musicians from the Catalan extreme metal scene who have played in bands such as Ered, Decapitated Christ, Onirophagus, Wild Road Roller, Falç, and Blazemth. Sharing the stage with bands such as Necrophobic and Sacramentum, and touring throughout the country and Portugal, Estertor have made a name for themselves in the thrash scene. Their live performance is wild, detailed, and ruthless, with the four members becoming one on stage and delivering a sound that is totally old-school and accurate.

In 2017, they released Buried in Morningside, their first full-length, compiling older songs from the band. In 2021, during the pandemic, the band locked themselves away in their tombs to compose Tales From The Ancient Grave, a much more aggressive album than its predecessor. It was released on CD by War Anthem Records, on red vinyl by Deaf Sparrow (USA), and on splatter and black vinyl in Europe by Carabrecol, Little Jan Hammer, and Global Help Records.

BLIND CHANNEL Join Forces with Of Mice & Men’s Aaron Pauley on Cosmic New Single ‘Into The Void’

Finnish modern metal force BLIND CHANNEL unleashes “Into The Void,” the final standalone single ahead of their highly anticipated new studio album ‘Painstream,’ out October 30th via Century Media.

Featuring Aaron Pauley of Of Mice & Men, “Into The Void” sees BLIND CHANNEL turn their attention far beyond Earth while confronting a distinctly human question: what if we really are alone? Against a crushing, high-impact backdrop, BLIND CHANNEL transforms that cosmic uncertainty into something painfully immediate: if nobody is coming to save us, the future of our only home is entirely in our own hands.

With Pauley’s commanding vocals adding further weight and contrast, “Into The Void” offers another formidable glimpse into ‘Painstream.’

BLIND CHANNEL comments:

“‘Into The Void’ is our final standalone single from the upcoming ‘Painstream’ album before the whole thing drops. The song was inspired by the Fermi Paradox and the Wow! signal. If Earth really is the only place in the universe where life exists, we’re not exactly doing a great job of sustaining it. Aaron from Of Mice & Men jumped aboard for this one and made sure the mosh pits will suck people in like black holes.”

Aaron Pauley comments:

“I’m honored to feature on this track – it’s an absolute banger! Had a lot of fun working on it & I’m excited for the world to hear it.”

After 1.5 years of deliberate silence, BLIND CHANNEL returned earlier this year to open a new chapter with the announcement of their sixth studio album, ‘Painstream.’ Across its 12 tracks, the album navigates the pain of growth, sharp self-reflection, and explosive energy, pushing the band’s sound into new territory while retaining the intensity that has defined them.

Cinematic Metallers JASMENO Present New Music Video for ‘A Code Of Equivocation’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 2, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: JASMENO. Leave a comment

JASMENO was founded in the autumn of 2017 by Sławomir Nietupski, who is responsible for keyboards, synthesizers and programming. The project’s discography includes three releases: “Jasmeno” (2020), “Elixir” (2021) and EP “Lucid Horizon” (2022). Its music combines elements of progressive rock with melodic electronica inspired by the sounds of the 1970s and 1980s.

After an absence of nearly four years, JASMENO returns with “Assemblage of Cinematic Idioms”, an album that marks a significant shift in the project’s artistic direction. The material has a distinctly cinematic character and is built around the sound of a virtual symphony orchestra. Its concept was inspired by the work of Władysław Hasior, who created multilayered compositions from seemingly incompatible fragments of reality. New album features six elaborate compositions with a total running time of nearly 50 minutes. Based on lyrics by poet Izabela Turska-Kamrowska, the songs explore everyday doubts and emotions, feelings of separation and alienation, as well as the search for faith and joy in everyday life.

The album’s instrumental foundation is co-created by guitarist Michał Grall of Unblessed Divine, formerly of Sinister, and bassist Artur Ołkowicz, known from Mechanism and Art of Illusion. Brian Gawaski’s powerful vocals also play an essential role in defining the character of the material. The album features numerous guest artists from such great bands: Patriarkh, Morgoth, Thorns, DHG/Dødheimsgard, Armagedon, Yattering, Millenium, as well as Lecia Louise, Sasha Janowicz, Joanna Zondłowska, Łukasz Kowalski, Tomasz Andrzejewski and Robert Kołakowski.

The album was mixed and mastered by Jakub Mańkowski, whose credits include collaborations with Czesław Mozil, Justyna Steczkowska, Me and That Man and Blindead. Project founder Sławomir Nietupski was responsible for the graphic design, album layout and hand-painted watercolour illustrations.

“Assemblage of Cinematic Idioms” was released on September 11, 2026, via Tangled Records in physical format (CD, LP, MC) and September 21, 2026 in all popular streaming platforms (smart link URL). Orders could be purchased at Bandcamp.

Sławomir Nietupski comments new video:

“This music video is a reflection on a world we are gradually losing and on the consequences of humanity drifting away from its origins and its connection to nature. Yet, even within this vision of fading beauty and unfolding calamity, there is still room for hope. As long as we are able to listen to the silence and remember who we once were, we may still find our way back.”
