To celebrate the release of their new album, “May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way” that is finally out, Omnium Gatherum are releasing a video for the epic “The Darkest City” which was produced by Jari Heino and Coldstore Productions.

”’The Darkest City’ is the anthem within the new album”, says Jukka Pelkonen (vocals). “It is heavy, demanding and fulfilling. I love it.” Markus Vanhala (guitar) further adds: “’The Darkest City’ is my personal favorite from the album. While the previous three tracks have been shorter and catchy, this one is a more cinematic and storytelling song that shows the albums’ deeper side. OG and beyond!” Vanhala elaborates on the album: “This is album number X, so we had to walk a lil’ extra mile. We dug up elements from our past and polished them, so we could use them in the future. This is OG in its purest and solid form. After the more midtempo focused ‘Origin’ we needed to speed things up and turbocharge.”

“May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way” is released to much acclaim by international media:

The dedicated road dogs have announced extensive, worldwide touring starting with a North American tour in November / December that is followed by Finland in January, a European tour in February / March and Spanish dates in April of next year. Vanhala says: “Our calendars are full, just the way we like it. The album cycle starts with headline tours in North America, Europe and Finland and more will follow. We’re a sweaty, honest live band to the core!” Pelkonen comments: “We have a lot of shows coming up around the world to promote the new album. That is rad! We like to tour and I have to say it will be phenomenal to play any and every of the new songs live.”

Formed in 1996 in the coastal town of Karhula, Omnium Gatherum has long stood at the crossroads of traditional heavy metal, Gothenburg-style melodic death, and progressive finesse – earning the tongue-in-cheek label Adult-Oriented Death Metal.

On “May the Bridges We Burn Light the Way”, founding guitarist and chief songwriter Markus Vanhala (also in Insomnium, Cemetery Skyline) sought to capture the band’s full scope: catchy hooks, searing solos, thunderous rhythms, inventive keys, and vocals that shift between aggression and melody with ease.

Through its lyrics, “May the Bridges We Burn Light the Way” is structured as a loose concept album, narrating “stories from the streets” through the experiences of dreamers, fiends, liars and wanderers. Songs like ’Walking Ghost Phase’ delve into addiction and despair, while ’Ignite the Flame’ champions brotherhood and rebellion. In ’The Darkest City’, the urban landscape itself speaks, reflecting the chaos of the modern world.

“There’s a 90s spirit in these lyrics as well,” says Vanhala. “Even if they’re not autobiographical, they echo where we came from – street corners, blasting metal and dreaming big.”

The music was captured in various Finnish studios – some in repurposed industrial spaces with a haunted stillness. Meanwhile, Jukka Pelkonen’s vocal sessions were tracked in Sweden with Björn ‘Speed’ Strid (Soilwork), who co-produced the vocals and lent his voice to the powerful gang shouts. For the gearheads, the vocal tracks were cut on the legendary SSL console used on Queen’s “Innuendo”, adding a touch of rock history to the powerful performance. And to round out the album’s production, the band once again turned to Jens Bogren and Tony Lindgren from Sweden’s renowned Fascination Street Studios for mixing and mastering. Running under 45 minutes, the record hits hard and moves fast – zero filler, maximum impact.

AS EVERYTHING UNFOLDS Release New Single Video ‘What You Wanted’, Feat. Dani Winter-Bates

As Everything Unfolds, who recently announced their signing to Century Media, have today released a brand-new single, ‘WHAT YOU WANTED’, featuring Dani Winter-Bates from Bury Tomorrow.

Speaking of ‘WHAT YOU WANTED’, vocalist Charlie Rolfe says, Over the last 2 years, I have watched various people in my life struggle with addiction issues, mostly related to alcohol. It’s painful and difficult to watch your most beloved people in your life destroy themselves every single day, and not be able to help them. You find it frustrating not being able to help them, not being to do anything, and being angry at their lack of empathy for the pain they put you through every day.

She continues, I found a lot of relatable things in the 1980’s film The Shining which is famously seen as an allegory for Alcoholism, with Jack’s family being concerned for his health, his wellbeing, seeing him in slow decline. His family are frustrated with the situation he put them in alongside being terrified of him when he is the worst version of himself. It made me realise that I was often frustrated and terrified on that person and felt like I was living in my own Overlook hotel at times, trying to desperately save that person, but also sometimes the best thing to do is to just get out. I used this world as a creative vessel to tell my own story.

Thrash metal legends DEATH ANGEL have returned to lay waste to 2025 with their colossal new single ‘Cult of the Used.’ Their 2nd new song in 6 years, is intense pit fuel that that ignites into a blaze with the band’s unmistakable chugging rhythm and break neck riffs. The track is accompanied by an astounding animated video created by Tamara Llenas of Aimed and Framed.

Commenting on the song, guitarist Rob Cavestany says:

“Our new song Cult Of The Used is a depiction of society under hypnosis, being strategically manipulated and taken advantage of.  It urges you to leave the so called reality behind…

Fendie Daywalker did a stellar job illustrating the Cult Leader ~ beckoning his blinded followers who remain in trance by his strangely charismatic facade, enchanted by the vibrant colors, mesmerized by his stare.

We wanted to release this song to coincide with our ACT III US Tour which kicks off on November 26th in Denver and concludes with 2 nights at The Fillmore in San Francisco on December 18th and 19th for our 10th Annual ‘Another Death Angel Xmas Show(s).’  We haven’t headlined in the states since 2019 so we wanted to make it extra extra!  Of course we’re excited to include Cult Of The Used in our setlist when we hit the road this month.”

DEATH ANGEL’s new single follows ‘Wrath (Bring Fire)’ that was released earlier this year, and arrives just ahead of the band’s eagerly anticipated Act III US Tour and 10th Annual ‘Another Death Angel Xmas Show’ in San Francisco taking place in December. Tickets are on sale now at https://www.deathangel.us/tour

London’s enigmatic cult band, COLD IN BERLIN, shatters six years of silence with the release of their fifth and most ambitious album, “Wounds”.

“Wounds” is a masterclass in sonic tension, a record that is as heavy as it is haunting. COLD IN BERLIN has forged an intoxicating new sound by explosively blending the crushing weight of doom, the stark urgency of post-punk, and the hypnotic drive of krautrock.

This album is a dynamic, boundary-pushing journey into exhilarating new territory for a band that has long been a fixture of the underground.

It’s no surprise that this fantastic work was was highly praised and named ALBUM OF THE MONTH

Vocalist Maya describes “Wounds” not as a lament, but as a visceral “strange celebration” of human endurance. “‘Wounds’ is a series of songs about the different ways people live with and process ‘the wounds’ of their lives,” explains Maya. “A strange celebration of that formative pain we have all experienced in some way. The loss and joy of survival – the celebration of finding others like us, the gift of knowing life comes after fire.”

Simultaneously with the album release, COLD IN BERLIN are releasing their third single, “12 Crosses”, along with another captivating music video!

“‘12 Crosses’ is emblematic of the themes of the album ‘Wounds’. What you carry on your back can make you stronger,” says Vocalist Maya. “To share the weight and purge in a cleansing fire is liberating.”

A hypnotic, driving bassline lays the foundation for the song, contrasting sharply with wild, screeching distorted horns for an overwhelming sonic assault. The video was filmed at House of the Holy festival on the Summer Solstice. A transcendental experience of ancient rites.
