Thunder Bay, Canada’s The Fixer has dropped their new single “Ugly Knots”, a sonic and emotional powerhouse that sets the tone as they kick off their “The Ugly Knots Tour” this October with fellow hometown band Teknosis.

“Ugly Knots” is a raw, genre-defying track that fuses industrial metal with hardcore grit and ambient textures. It opens with abrasive riffs and harsh electronics before evolving into a sweeping, melodic climax, mirroring the emotional journey the band intends for listeners.

“This song is for the kind people we’ve seen be hated, harassed, and threatened. It’s written from the first-person perspective, but the spoken word section—contributed by our friend John Forget—comes directly from someone who lived that experience. It’s a message of strength in the face of cruelty,” says the band.

Listen to “Ugly Knots”:

Lyrically and musically, “Ugly Knots” is one of The Fixer’s heaviest and most artful releases to date. Eschewing formulaic conventions, the band leans hard into their industrial roots while exploring themes of anger, sadness, and resilience. Fans of their heavier material will find plenty to latch onto, while new listeners will be drawn into its emotional depth.

The single marks the beginning of a new chapter for The Fixer, as they hit the road with Teknosis for a tour of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta (dates listed below) that promises catharsis, chaos, and connection. “Ugly Knots” is more than a song; it’s a statement.

Formed out of pure love for metal. Teknosis has quickly evolved into a tight, aggressive unit with a shared vision: to make heavy music that hits hard and leaves no room to breathe. Set to ignite stages across the country this October, Teknosis is bringing their relentless live energy to fans in support of their acclaimed 2024 EP “Return to Civilization”, a five-track barrage of groove-laced hardcore and death metal influences. It’s a compact, violent sonic explosion that lyrically channels frustration and isolation from lockdowns, with themes ranging from societal collapse to personal survival.

With ambient samples bridging each track, Teknosis will be a visceral live experience as they deliver a seamless, high-impact set that’s organic, heavy, and hypnotic.

“We still believe in live amps and drums straight to the cochlea. It’s all about maximum intensity. A sonic experience that’s as brutal as it is addictive,” says bassist Travis Doggett.

Fans can expect new singles starting in Fall 2025, leading up to a full-length album in late 2025 or early 2026. The October tour will feature tracks from “Return to Civilization” alongside unreleased material, giving audiences a taste of what’s to come.

BOUM PATAT Toasts Mortality with New Music Video ‘Mort Subite’

Wormholedeath is thrilled to present the latest video from Belgium’s electro-fun-metal mischief-makers BOUM PATAT. The track, “Mort Subite,” is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album Ma Belgitude, due for release 31 October 2025.

Blending heavy riffs, pounding rhythms, and tongue-in-cheek lyrics, “Mort Subite” is a darkly humorous anthem about living fast and embracing the inevitable. With its ironic church-mass setting, the video raises an eyebrow (and a glass) at life’s most certain outcome. The result? A track that’s equal parts existential reflection and chaotic party fuel. Because let’s face it—if the end is coming, you might as well headbang your way there.

About:

BOUM PATAT is the new electro fun metal project by Belgian musician Olivier Wittenberg, former drummer-composer of Manic Movement. In the 2000s, he toured Europe with bands like Kreator, Moonspell, and Psychotic Waltz, and played major festivals such as Graspop Metal Meeting.

After a long break, he returns with Ma Belgitude, a self-produced solo debut that blends heavy metal, Belgian humor, and old-school electronic sounds. BOUM PATAT breaks metal’s usual codes—serious and absurd at once, mixing groove, industrial, and electronic punch with offbeat themes and playful visuals.

Live, the project becomes a trio with Laurent Soulasse (bass) and Maxime Demulder (drums).

Line up:
Olivier Wittenberg – vocals, songwriter, composer, producer, instruments
Jérémie Vasile – guitar

Iran’s REDVI Turn Hope into Horror in New Song + Video ‘Ashes To Gashes’

Iranian thall/deathcore act Redvi doubles down on nihilistic views in its new song “Ashes To Gashes” along with its music video. The up-and-coming band seamlessly mixes dissonant heavy riffs with melodic piano lines with extremely atmospheric guitar leads. The song captures the duality of beauty and ugliness within the concept of hope.

Opening with a melancholic piano line “Ashes To Gashes” soon after drives straight into action with dissonant and heavy thall riffs creating a suffocating feeling. The whole production masterfully creates that uneasy almost uncomfortable feeling in the pit of one’s stomach when something is wrong. Even the melodic chorus doesn’t stray far from this ominous atmosphere that the song propagates. It merely acts as a contrasting force within the same atmosphere. Knowing that “Ashes To Gashes” is about hope reveals why the song sounds the way that it does. Hope is a double edged sword, it can propel people towards greatness and also drown them in misery when it doesn’t pay off. Redvi’s overall message is that hope doesn’t necessarily lead to happiness and success and often-times when the rush of hope disappears, there is nothing left but ruin. It perfectly parallels the band’s origin. Any Iranian will tell you how the feeling of hopes and dreams being crushed constantly feels like. In essence, Redvi managed to bring the dark side of hope to life with its punishing new single “Ashes To Gashes”. Redvi also moves past that realization into defiance against the concept of hope. Repeated refrains of refusal (“Not AGAIN”, “NO more lies”) transform the lyrics into an act of final severance: not just rage, but a hard-earned insistence on self-preservation.

Redvi’s vocalist Aryan Mohammadi had this to add about “Ashes to Gashes”:

“I tried to capture a specific process in my mind with this song. We fight with hopelessness everyday. It’s a constant battle that drains us to the bone. At the end of the day when we fail and we’ve given up, we realize that we’ve just been fighting with ourselves and have become the symbol of that same hopelessness.”

The music video courtesy of Erfan Zirak and Sajjad Karimrad showcases the song’s concept perfectly. Themes of suffering and defiance thereafter prevail in the music video with the white evil figure symbolizing the concept of suffocating hope.

Gothic rockers from Berlin SORRY WE WEREN’T HERE BEFORE are set to release their new EP “Forest Lights” on October 25th via Agoge Records.

Arrangements by Gianmarco Bellumori in collaboration with Darth Sound (Berlin). The musical genre can be summarised as gothic rock, but anyway it ‘s a cross-over of various styles that, from the sound of the 80s, have spanned the decades reaching today. Like the rays of light glimpsed from a dark forest, the band’s music is meant to represent the journey of life and the ability to catch the brightness that seeps out even from negative moments.

The 3 members of the band, after years of experience with other bands between productions and concerts, came together with the idea of creating a new project that synthesises their life’s musical experiences, combined with a great passion and fun in playing music.

Their first single “Vibrations Will Told” produced by Agoge Records, was released in June 2025. In case you missed it, check out here: https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=WSmS2LbKP2o

KILL RITUAL Strike Back with New Album “In My Head”, New Single ‘Shadow On Your Grave’ Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 9, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: KILL RITUAL. Leave a comment

US heavy metal hardliners KILL RITUAL return with their new studio album “In My Head”, which will be released on November 21st, 2025 via Massacre Records. Available as CD Digipak and Limited Vinyl LP, the album delivers ten powerful tracks where crushing riffs, dark melodies, and lyrical intensity come together to form one of the most dynamic works of the band’s career.

As a first glimpse into this new chapter, KILL RITUAL have unleashed the single “Shadow On Your Grave”, now available on all major streaming platforms and accompanied by an official video.

The track, explains guitarist and main songwriter Steven D. Rice, explores the unsettling fascination with alien theories and the idea that our gods might return—not to save us, but to remind us that we are not alone. “Do you really want to know?” he asks, setting the dark and provocative tone of the release.

“In My Head” captures the essence of KILL RITUAL at their sharpest and most uncompromising. Recorded over the course of a year, with production, arrangements, and lyrics all crafted by Steven D. Rice, the album was mixed and mastered by Andy LaRocque at Sonic Train Studio in Sweden, and enriched visually by the artwork of Jobert Mello at Sledgehammer Graphix. The performances of Judas on vocals, Seamus Gleason on drums, and Rice himself on guitars, bass, vocals and synths converge into a relentless yet dynamic record that combines aggression with atmosphere, darkness with melody.

From the tormented opener that gives the album its title to the haunting close of “Our Elegant Demon,” the record unfolds as a journey through madness, vengeance, love, and survival. Each track pushes forward with a sense of urgency and depth, making “In My Head” a compelling statement of identity and power from a band that continues to evolve without compromise.

With “In My Head” KILL RITUAL invites listeners to step into their world of shadows and revelations, where heavy metal meets storytelling in its most intense form.
