MARTRÖÐ Ink Deal with DMP & Announce Debut Full-Length Album “Draumsýnir eldsins”

Icelandic/US Black Metal entity MARTRÖРwas birthed in 2015 by a group of established artists wishing to see what emerges when singular wills become a shared vision. The first output from this collective – based around core members A.P. (SKÁPHE) and H.V. Lyngdal (WORMLUST) – was the acclaimed 2016 EP “Transmutation of Wounds“, a dark descent into layered and intense sound as a mirror of existential fracture.

After a long period of silence – MARTRÖРonly “speak” when there is something of significance to share – a new iteration of the project now arises in 2025 to unveil their stunning first full-length, “Draumsýnir eldsins” (“Dream Visions of the Fire“).

The band comments:

“MARTRÖРremains what it has always been: a convergence of ideas and visions. While the outer circle has changed over the years, the two principal songwriters, A.P. and H.V., have remained constant, with the addition of Jack Blackburn, Magnús Halldór Pálsson, and a number of collaborators carrying the project’s essence forward. What ultimately defined “Draumsýnir eldsins” was time itself, not as a neutral container, but as an active force. The album emerged slowly, fragment by fragment, over nearly a decade. Its framing draws on the medieval tradition of the dream vision: the idea that through dreams we process what reason cannot grasp, and that within the surreal and fleeting there lies a higher truth.“

To propagate their ominous vision, MARTRÖРhas entered a pact with Debemur Morti Productions to issue the entity’s debut full-length on December 12th. A foretaste of what’s to come will be revealed on October 23rd, accompanied by pre-orders.

Concerning “Draumsýnir eldsins“, MARTRÖРstate:

“We are exploring the fragility of creation, thought experiments like the mortality of gods, and ultimately the dissolution of form, the waking nightmare. Our work is an exploration of collapse: angels constructed from broken remnants, divinity suspended in endless death, and reality revealed as a dream on the verge of vanishing. The darkness we try to channel is a portrait of being itself, a confrontation with nothingness until the dream ends.“

Follow the collective’s work on Facebook and Instagram.

MARTRÖРbegan in 2015 not as a band, but as an experiment in convergence. It was never about the individual, but about what emerges when singular wills dissolve into a shared vision. In this sense, MARTRÖРfunctions as both seed and symptom: the impulse that later unfolded into Mystískaos, but also a form of collective dreaming in its own right.

The first articulation of this came with the “Transmutation of Wounds” EP in 2016, a work that did not seek catharsis but rather confrontation, a descent into layered sound as a mirror of existential fracture. After this, MARTRÖРentered a long period of gestation. What now emerges years later is not a continuation but a transformation: the full-length “Draumsýnir eldsins“, a cycle of dream-visions where humanity dreams its own apocalypse, angels are stitched from remnants, divinity is suspended in endless death, and creation collapses as the dreamer stirs awake.

MARTRÖРhas remained intentionally outside the categories of stage, permanence, or identity. It exists in the unwaking hours, in the liminal space where visions take form. Its essence is the alignment of forces that briefly converge to give voice to dissolution, not performance, but invocation; not continuity, but the persistence of a nightmare that survives only through its recording.

FRAYLE Drop Scary Good Doom Anthem ‘Boo’ with Official Video

In celebration of this Friday’s release of their new album, Heretics & Lullabies (October 10 / Napalm Records), as well as their upcoming USA tour supporting occult rockers Dogma, Cleveland based doom unit FRAYLE have revealed their final pre-album single, the airy, crushing “Boo”. The track features a guest contribution from metal vocalist Jason Popson.

Accompanied by another one of the band’s trademark high production, beautifully macabre music videos, “Boo” injects mid-tempo flavor and multifaceted vocal balance into the album as crushing weight lands alongside each hook, with bending guitar tone and dark, sparkling atmosphere swirling around pounding percussion.

FRAYLE says about “Boo”:
“’Boo’ was inspired by an incident in Germany, when Gwyn, walking alone on a dark street, startled a woman traveling with her companions. She screamed, and the entire group hurried to the other side of the road. The song is a tongue-in-cheek response to moments like these—because for some of us, every day is Halloween.”

FRAYLE has been lauded as one of the fastest-rising, most haunting currently active modern doom metal outfits of late, infusing their sound with eclectic elements and now reinventing their trademark spectral sonic profile. Merging the heaviness of occult-driven doom and blackgaze with frontwoman Gwyn Strang’s distinctively eerie vocal stylings and the crushing guitars of Sean Bilovecky, the band has fully realized their “lullabies of chaos” musical vision with Heretics & Lullabies.

Recorded by FRAYLE and produced, mixed and mastered by Aaron Chaparian at Iron Audio (Bleeding Through, Harms Way), Heretics & Lullabies is a must-listen for any fan of doom, post-metal or atmosphere-heavy alt-rock, but also a pristinely phantomic journey for any heavy music fan as it maintains its accessible edge throughout.

The album kicks off with first single “Walking Wounded”, a whispering wall-of-sound that crushes with spine-tingling stacks of harmony. The deeply punishing atmosphere continues into second track “Summertime Sadness”, an entirely reworked doom-laden cover of the Lana Del Rey hit. Mid-album cuts such as “Demons” and “Glass Blown Heart” flirt with threateningly macabre lyrical poetry and otherworldly melody, while glacially-paced anthems “Souvenirs Of Your Betrayal” – described as a deeply personal look at the depths of despair after a painful deception – and “Run” double down on the aggressive, suffocatingly beautiful ambience and Gwyn Strang’s shimmering, beckoning vocal timbre. Hair-raising “Hymn For The Living” and standout single “Heretic” inject heavy rock edge and arena-ready drums into the mix, before the album concludes with droning melodic masterpiece “Only Just Once” – an unforgettable closer to this colossal modern doom compendium. Heretics and hypocrites beware – Heretics & Lullabies will perpetually etch itself into the darkest corners of your psyche, taking deeper hold with each spin.

Glasya has released a video for “Hunt Of The Haunted”, third single taken from the new album “Fear” to be released on October 24 by Scarlet Records.

The spooky voices that tormented Sarah (the main charachter of the “Fear” story/concept) suddenly become personified and begin to chase and hunt her. They try to trap the girl, while she tries to free herself and escape. A haunting song with some modern and very catchy arrangements.

Lead by the magnificent voice and imposing presence of Eduarda Soeiro (officially part of the current Moonspell live band), Glasya keeps marrying cinematic heavy metal and a bright storytelling vein.

Three years after the excellent “Attarghan” concept album, “Fear” displays a more modern symphonic metal sound with strong grooves, catchy chorus and several honorable special guests (Moonspell’s Fernando Ribeiro, Visions Of Atlantis’ Michele Guaitoli, Dark Oath’s Sarah Leitão).

“Fear” tells the quest of a woman who finds herself confronted with her own fears and gains the courage to overcome them. The listener will be walking in the shoes of the protagonist and feel her trepidation, her convictions, her achievements and the confidence that she develops in herself to help a close one.

During the course of the compelling story, she will fully reveal her weaknesses and how they can finally become her strengths – a real triumph over adversity.

Glasya:
Eduarda Soeiro – vocals
Davon Van Dave – keyboards
Hugo Esteves – guitar
Bruno Prates – guitar
Ivan Santos – bass
Pedro Correia – drums

ERADICATOR to Release Live Album “Alive In The Dead Eye Of The Vortex” on November 21st

ERADICATOR’s live album ‘Alive In The Dead Eye Of The Vortex’ will be released on 21 November 2025. The CD and Vinyl versions will be available exclusively from the band’s shop and digitally worldwide via Metalville.

A rainy Saturday afternoon in 2004: a wild bunch of teenagers meet in their rehearsal room, a small chamber in a barn in the tranquil Sauerland region. Wearing Kreator, Judas Priest and Metallica shirts, the newly formed band covers the classics of their heroes – the foundation for ERADICATOR is laid!

Twenty years later, the thrashers celebrate their anniversary with a special home game. Together with “Vortex Club” in Siegen, they launched the ‘Evil Twisted Metal Feast’ in October 2024. Six bands, 250 fans, an unforgettable evening and the decision to capture this moment.

With ‘Alive In The Dead Eye Of The Vortex’, ERADICATOR is now releasing an 11-song live album that thrashes through the band’s entire history. Four tracks from the current LP ‘The Paradox’ are also included. With ‘Evil Twisted Mind’, the song that gave the concert its name, one of their oldest songs returns, which was already featured on their first release, the demo ‘Back To The Roots’ (2007). History also repeats itself behind the controls: producer Jörn Michutta, who was already responsible for the demo, has shaped the live tracks into a dynamically thunderous mix that perfectly captures the energy and atmosphere of the evening.

Sebastian Jerke is responsible for the cover design, which ensures a galactic reunion with the plaque bringer.

Anyone familiar with ERADICATOR knows that they make no compromises when it comes to live performances. And now everyone else can experience this first-hand on record!

JON HARRIS Unleashes Heavier Side of “Parallel Heart” Album in New Playthrough Video ‘Wasted Entertainment’

JON HARRIS returns with a new playthrough video for his track “Wasted Entertainment”, taken from his acclaimed album Parallel Heart (Epictronic).

‘Wasted Entertainment’ takes aim at our obsession with social media, calling out the endless scroll that eats away those precious hours of our lives. It’s one of the heavier songs on the album, built on an early riff and loaded with punchy textures and layered sounds that took me a few tries to get right. Recently, I met someone who said it was their favourite track on the whole record – so crank it up!

Parallel Heart continues to showcase Harris’ mastery of instrumental rock, blending technical precision with emotional resonance.
