‘1998 Live Hits’ is a powerful time capsule capturing the energy, emotion, and artistry of legendary vocalist JIMI JAMISON at a pivotal point in his post-Survivor career. Recorded across three vibrant shows in Little Rock, AR, Nashville, TN, and Bettendorf, IA, and now to be released by Frontiers Music Srl, this album showcases JAMISON’s electrifying live presence and undeniable vocal prowess as he revisits some of the most iconic songs from his time with Survivor, along with deep cuts, original solo work, and inspired covers. The album will be out on December 12, 2025.

Backing JAMISON is a seasoned and soulful ensemble: longtime collaborators Jeff Adams (bass, vocals) and Hal Butler (keyboards, vocals) were joined by guitarist Chris Adamson, drummer Pete Mendillo, and Memphis-based producer and guitarist Wes Henley, who also supervised these live album recordings. This lineup reflects a strong musical camaraderie built over years of touring, with several members having roots alongside JAMISON that date back to his 1970s band Target.

Now, years later, these recordings allow fans—old and new—to reconnect with a voice and spirit that remains timeless. ‘1998 Live Hits’ is more than a concert album; it’s a tribute to an era, a legacy, and the enduring magic of JIMI JAMISON.

To kick off this announcement, the first single is the seminal track, “Burning Heart,” accompanied by a live video.

One standout from the set is a haunting performance of “Riders on the Storm” by The Doors — a testament to JAMISON’s ability to tap into a wide range of emotions and his gift for storytelling through song. His delivery brings an atmospheric intensity, drawing the listener deep into the moment.

The track list includes fan favorites such as “Burning Heart,” “High on You,” “I Can’t Hold Back,” “The Search Is Over,” and “Eye of the Tiger,” all songs that defined a generation of melodic rock. Deeper cuts like “Oceans” and “Too Hot to Sleep” reveal the richness of Survivor’s catalog, while JAMISON’s originals, such as “Rock Hard” and “I’m Always Here” (the iconic Baywatch theme), showcase his creative versatility.

Of particular note is the interplay between Chris Adamson and Wes Henley on guitars. Though Henley’s primary role was behind the board, his friendship with JAMISON and passion for the Survivor material often brought him onstage. Together, he and Adamson bring layered, textured performances that do justice to the intricate compositions of Peterik and Sullivan.

Through warm crowd interactions and powerful vocal moments, ‘1998 Live Hits’ highlights JAMISON’s authentic stage presence, Memphis soul, and deep bond with both his band and his audience. As friends and collaborators reflect, this wasn’t just a group of musicians—it was a family.

2. High On You
3. Rebel Son
4. I’m Always Here
5. I See You In Everyone
6. Rock Hard
7. Oceans
8. The Search Is Over

10. I Can’t Hold Back
11. Riders On The Storm
12. Too Hot To Sleep
13. Eye Of The Tiger

Powerhouse vocalist JIMI JAMISON earned recognition as the frontman for hard rock bands Target and Cobra before reaching platinum heights with Survivor, singing the hits “Burning Heart” from the film Rocky IV, “I Can’t Hold Back,” “High on You,” “The Search is Over,” and “Is This Love.” Acclaimed by legendary U.S. disc jockey Casey Kasem as “The Voice,” JIMI JAMISON’s performances are treasured by connoisseurs of AOR and melodic rock who consistently rate him as one of the genre’s Top 5 vocalists of all time.

Raised on R&B, Blues-Rock, and Country music in Memphis, Tennessee, JIMI JAMISON released his first single in 1967 with a band called The Debuts. “If I Cry” was originally intended for fellow Memphis band, The Box Tops, featuring lead singer Alex Chilton. Jamison honed his craft by singing commercial jingles by day and fronting gritty rockers Target by night. His next band, Cobra, with Mandy Meyer on guitar, cut a cult classic in 1983’s First Strike, but that was just a prelude to Jamison’s breakthrough as lead singer of Survivor.

With JIMI JAMISON at the mic, Survivor proved that its earlier success with “Eye of the Tiger” was no fluke. The combination of JAMISON’s emotion-charged vocals with Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan’s masterful songwriting and Ron Nevison’s radio-friendly production resulted in 1984’s Platinum-selling ‘Vital Signs’ album. Its hit singles “I Can’t Hold Back,” “High on You,” and “The Search Is Over” were massive hits, later joined by Survivor’s Rocky IV theme, “Burning Heart,” and the further Top 10 hit “Is This Love.” Survivor’s 1980s trilogy featuring JAMISON – ‘Vital Signs’ (1984), ‘When Seconds Count’ (1986), and ‘Too Hot to Sleep’ (1988) – are acclaimed as AOR and melodic rock landmarks. Concurrently, JAMISON’s voice could be heard singing prominent harmony vocals on ZZ Top’s smash ‘Eliminator’ album, most notably on ‘Gimme All Your Lovin’.’

Striking out on his own in the 1990s, Jimi Jamison released the solo albums ‘When Love Comes Down’ and ‘Empires.’ His voice and songwriting reached new audiences through “I’m Always Here,” the theme song for Baywatch, the most-watched television series in the world with a weekly audience of over 1.1 billion viewers. But touring became his primary focus throughout the decade, both with all-star projects including Voices of Classic Rock and with his own band. JAMISON’s primarily Memphis-bred group comprised acclaimed musicians including keyboardist Hal Butler; guitarists John Roth, Jerry Riggs, Hal McCormack, and Chris Adamson; bass players Jeff Adams and Barry Dunaway; and drummers Bill Marshall and Pete Mendillo. The most stable lineup of Butler, Adamson, Adams, and Mendillo was captured live in concert in 1998, but the recordings went unreleased.

JAMISON returned to the record racks with a vengeance in the 2000s, with projects including Survivor’s 2006 album, ‘Reach’; the 2008 collaboration with Jim Peterik, ‘Crossroads Moment,’ and its 2010 companion piece ‘Extra Moments’; 2011 duo albums ‘Kimball Jamison’ with his longtime friend, Toto lead vocalist Bobby Kimball, and ‘One Man’s Trash’ with guitarist Fred Zahl; and his final solo album, 2012’s ‘Never Too Late.’ JAMISON’s triumphant first-ever UK appearance at Firefest 2010, backed by a band featuring guitarist Tommy Denander, was memorialized on the CD and DVD Live at Firefest. JAMISON performed his final show just two days before his untimely passing on September 1, 2014.

JIMI JAMISON’s family and friends have worked diligently to keep his memory and music at the forefront. Several all-star “Jam for Jimi” concerts have been staged in Memphis to raise money for JAMISON’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A stretch of Highland Street in Memphis was named “Jimi Jamison Street” in 2022. That same year, the first of several CD releases from the Jimi Jamison Archives, ‘Rock Hard,’ presented his 1990 solo debut album as it was originally intended. JAMISON was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2023. Memorabilia, including a fan-funded bronze bust, is on permanent display at the iconic Memphis venue, Lafayette’s Music Room. The tenth anniversary of JAMISON’s passing was acknowledged by Representative Steve Cohen in the United States House of Representatives. Jimi’s shelved 2008 country rock collaboration with Jim Peterik, entitled ‘Jimmy Wayne Jamison,’ was unvaulted at the same time. Members of JAMISON’s solo bands continue to play together in both .38 Special and Starship. A film, Resonating Voices: The Jimi Jamison Documentary, is in the early stages of development.

2025 brings the most exciting Jimi Jamison Archives release yet, one which his fans have been anticipating for 25 years: the never-before-issued live album he recorded in 1998. With a setlist drawn from Survivor, his solo career, and even a cover of The Doors’ “Riders on the Storm,” ‘1998 Live Hits’ ensures that JIMI JAMISON’s strong, clear voice will continue to thrill fans worldwide.

JUNO-nominated and Maple Blues Award winning Miss Emily returns with her new album, The Medicine. Released by Gypsy Soul Records on November 7th, the album is produced by Grammy winner Colin Linden (Keb’ Mo’, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Gregg Allman, Diana Krall), and is available to pre-order HERE.

The highly anticipated new album masterfully blends soul, blues, and roots, and features an all-star cast of musicians at the top of their game. Including players from Bob Dylan and Keb’ Mo’s bands, the new album pairs her thunderous voice with songs of truth and resilience. Known for her powerful voice and exhilarating live shows, Miss Emily channels two decades of raw experience into music that heals and uplifts.

Her new single “Stand Together, Band Together” is “a soulful singalong that embraces the idea that my struggle is your struggle, your struggle is my struggle and none of us gets through this world alone.” The single is available on all streaming platforms HERE. Watch the official live video of “Stand Together, Band Together” HERE.

Miss Emily has a voice that demands your attention. She is never predictable. She values community above all else. For more than 20 years she has channelled those principles in her songwriting and performance, never shying away from an open conversation with her audience about the struggles she has faced.

Whether it was domestic violence or being a musical road-warrior and a single mother at the same time, Emily has always opened her heart in a communal invitation to share, heal and celebrate.

During the writing process for The Medicine that commitment was tested. “I wasn’t in a great head space,” she says, her voice cracking under the emotional weight of the memory. “Like so many of us, sometimes life brings you down. In one of my darker moments, I wrote an angry song. Then, as I continued prepping the songs, I realised I didn’t want anger to be a prominent theme on my new album. I wanted to celebrate community. I wanted to record music that made people feel better.”

The Medicine is just that; a collection of soul and Americana-inspired blues. As previously mentioned, the new album is produced by multiple JUNO and Grammy winner Colin Linden – celebrated Canadian guitarist and producer who resides in Nashville. The album features a hand-picked team of amazing musicians including Linden on slide and electric guitar, Keb Mo’s keyboardist, Michael Hicks on the Hammond B3 and George Receli; a drummer who Keith Richards lists as one of his favourites. Receli’s resume includes 20 years as Bob Dylans’s drummer.

The talent Linden curated and Miss Emily’s passion for the music is front and centre on this record. “Miss Emily is a tremendously passionate and supple singer, with a deep well of emotion, says Linden. “She is a truth teller. Working with her was pure joy.”

That inclination towards joyful truth was cultivated over more than two decades of playing night after night in bars and nightclubs along the busy Canadian highway corridor between Toronto and Montreal. Along with exhilarating, heart-wrenching performances, Emily developed a work ethic that drew the attention of promoters at regional theatres and festivals. In 2019 Miss Emily won three Canadian Maple Blues awards: Female Vocalist of the year, Newcomer of the year and Video of the Year. In 2022, she was nominated for a JUNO for Blues Album of the Year and won Maple Blues Female Vocalist of the year in 2021 and 2023.

Brad Wheeler of Canada’s national newspaper, the Globe and Mail said it perfectly, “She’s got a voice on her like big velvet thunder.”

That thunderous voice is highlighted on the soulful, anthemic first single “Stand Together, Band Together,” a celebration and reflection of community and humanity. These are the cornerstones of everything Miss Emily has been doing for more than two decades. At some point every night, on every tour, in every venue, she will open her arms wide and invite the people to join her in song. It’s a momentary risk but as the voices fill the room in unison and celebration, it’s an affirmation that, in this unpredictable world, the communal celebration of music is the medicine that binds us together.

ALBUM TRACK BY TRACK

1 – My Freedom
A funky reflection on refusing to allow the past to define yourself and on finding redemption and celebration in what’s ahead.

2 – Stand Together, Band Together

A soulful singalong that embraces the idea that my struggle is your struggle, your struggle is my struggle and none of us gets through this world alone.

3 – The Medicine
Written a few years ago after a family member of an overdose victim reached out to Emily and asked her to write a song to represent the victims and families of overdose victims, it’s an empathetic plea to understand one of the most complex issues of our times.

4 – Maybe
The Tragically Hip’s lead guitarist Rob Baker laid down the 60’s inspired musical bed for this love song that doesn’t make promises or pledge eternal love, it simply says, “I’m not telling you maybe,” and that’s enough.

5 – You Make Believe
A “want to be” love song stuck in the reality of wounded hearts and the fear of being hurt again.

6 – Running Again
Propelled by a relentless bass and drum groove and a hook-laden chorus, it’s an account of the constant motion in every relationship.

7 – Solid Ground
Every mother wants to pave the way for their child, but few have done it as honestly and eloquently as Miss Emily does in this soulful future letter to her young daughter.

8 – Smiths Bay Drowning
A haunting true story poem set to melody by Emily’s music mentor Suzanne Pasternak. The tragedy took place in the island community of Prince Edward County where Emily is 8th generation of her family raised there. The story is a common theme of rural island life and living and working on Lake Ontario.

9 – Remember This Song
The plaintive lead guitar of Colin Linden is a perfect compliment to Miss Emily’s soaring vocals in this searing slow blues treatise on the power of a song to lift, strengthen and heal.

In the 1990’s, 12-year-old Emily Fennell from Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada, got an early education on the power of community. She spent the summer competing in and winning dozens of county fair singing contests. While the other competitors chose standards like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” or “I Will Always Love You,” Emily stunned audiences into silent amazement with K.D. Lang’s version of the Patsy Cline song “Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray.”

That song choice, her spellbinding performance of it, and the venues in which she chose to display her talents, is everything you need to know about the woman who would become Miss Emily. She has a voice that demands your attention, she is never predictable, and she values community more than anything else.

For more than 20 years she has channelled those principles in her songwriting and performance, never shying away from an open conversation with her audience about the struggles she has faced. Whether it was misogynistic encounters with old-school promoters, domestic violence, or being a musical road-warrior and a single mother at the same time, Emily has always opened her heart in a communal invitation to share, heal and celebrate.

During the writing process for her upcoming album that commitment was tested. “I wasn’t in a great head space,” she acknowledged, her voice cracking under the emotional weight of the memory. “Like so many of us, sometimes life brings you down. In one of my darker moments, I wrote an angry song. Then, as I continued prepping the songs, I realized I did not want anger to be a prominent theme on my new album. I wanted to celebrate community and record music that made people feel better.”

In the fall of 2020, Jörgen “Jurg” Ström (ex-Skineater, ex-Omnicidal, ex-Rimfrost) decided it was time to breathe life into a new musical vision. When walking through the forest, he was struck with inspiration from the beauty of northern nature and the haunting melodies of bands like Alcest, Dissection, and Katatonia. The name Jord emerged organically, and with it, the project’s first songs began to blossom.

Jurg‘s ambitious goal was clear: to create three albums capturing the distinctive sound he envisioned. The debut album Sol materialized rapidly in 2021, and Jord kicked off as a solo endeavour. This pattern continued with Måne in 2022. The following year, Jurg felt his initial approach had reached its limits, and Jord started embracing full studio production on their third album Tundra.

That’s when Sebastian “Hravn” Svedlund (Rimfrost, Omnicidal, Sister Sin) joined the band on guitar, and Stefan “Jansson” Jansson (Omnicidal, ex-Devilicious) claimed the drum throne. Emellan Träden is the second fruit of the trio’s collaborative work.

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS Unveil New Video Single ‘Found’ from Forthcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 20, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS. Leave a comment

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS share the video single ‘FOUND‘ as the fifth advance track taken from the American heavy duo‘s forthcoming album “BEAR” that is slated for release on October 10, 2025, via Magnetic Eye Records. The pre-order is available here: http://lnk.spkr.media/friendshipcommanders-bear

‘FOUND‘ reflects on where one turns when feeling lost or left on the outside, carrying an anchoring message of hope. For profound, in-depth comments by the duo, please see below.

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS have also announced more US live dates for Fall 2025. Please see below for an updated list of currently confirmed shows.

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS comment on the single: “The song’s title, ‘FOUND’, is quite appropriate, as it was written in a season of feeling so displaced, so locked out of my own gender, and then I had this profound experience at an art exhibit where I realized that what I truly belong to is the work itself“, Buick Audra writes. “The music, the art. The proclivity to explore, observe, witness, love hard, and grieve even harder. I stood in front of silver gelatin prints one artist made about their dead friend and collaborator – another genius creative person who was misunderstood in his lifetime, and I wept. Wept for them, for me, for my dead friends, and oddly, with gratitude for what we all share: the courage to go there. It’s a gift to be able to walk with death, to witness horror, and to admit your own human frailty – and then turn around and make work expressing it, to allow others to see it. ‘FOUND’ is a love letter to the work, and to the parts of us that generate it. I was never lost; I was and am just outside. They’re not the same. Either way, I belong to myself and the work. Today, that’s enough. When unsure, go within.“

Jerry Roe continues: “‘FOUND’ is maybe the most straightforward rock song, we’ve recorded to date, and the arrangement of it in particular is something that I’m extremely proud of“, the drummer and bass player elaborates. “Every part is taken as far as it can go, and we get both quiet and extremely loud. It all circles around to an incredible and emotional ending that feels like a grand conclusion to the thesis of the record. Also, to speak of it in more direct terms: The riffs are sick!“

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS are not just any band within the wider musical cosmos of heavy rock and stoner metal. Artistic excellence, reflected in the two Grammy wins of singer, songwriter, and guitarist Buick Audra as well as the status of drummer and bass player Jerry Roe as one of the most sought after studio percussionists, paired with outstanding lyrical intelligence have once again flown together organically to shape their forthcoming album “BEAR”.

“BEAR” was written around the realisation that Buick Audra had essentially been kicked out of womanhood. This album is a documentation of her awareness also while cataloguing other areas of human connection: art, outsider culture, and dark rock venues – all places where empathy and creativity grow wild. Audra and Jerry Roe arranged and performed the fourth full-length of FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERSalbum to have two sides to it, musically: heavy and light, salt and sugar, fire and air, and lost and found.

Although hailing from Nashville, Tennessee these denizens of the ‘Music City’ kindly beg to differ. FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS‘ sound draws from sludge, doom, heavy metal, and grunge with roots in punk and hardcore, among other guitar driven styles.

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS were originally conceived as a side project by the two industry veterans Buick Audra and Jerry Roe, whose accolades have already been mentioned above. When the duo found common ground, they were able to bring all their combined musical excellence, perspectives, precision, and power to their new band.

Their early works, the EPs “GARFIELD” (2015) and “JUNEBUG” (2017) as well as the debut full-length “AVE” (2016) were all self-recorded as well as self-produced in their own studio, Fort Knockout, and supported live with regional tours.

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS‘ sophomore album ‘BILL’ (2018) was co-produced by the band with Steve Albini and engineered at his Chicago studio, Electrical Audio. Working with Albini proved a pivotal experience for the duo, both personally and professionally. “BILL” reached a notably larger audience and allowed national touring. Following Albini’s passing in 2024, the band released his original analogue mixes of the project, “BILL- The Steve Albini Mixes”.

Although the duo’s members maintained other ventures, FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS had developed into a focal endeavour for them both. Their again self-produced 2020 EP, “HOLD ON TO YOURSELF”, was the beginning of their by now years-long collaboration with Kurt Ballou, who mixed the record. He also mixed their self-produced pandemic-era singles “STONECHILD/ YOUR REIGN IS OVER” (2020), “ALTAR / LAND OF MEN” (2021), and “AND IF MY BODY” (2022). These were later compiled on a limited vinyl release entitled “RELEASE OF THE REST” (2022). The singles also marked a departure from the duo’s previous punk and hardcore leanings while introducing a heavier, sludgier sensibility.

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS recorded and co-produced their third album “MASS” again with Ballou at his GodCity Studio in Salem, MA. Audra recorded and produced her vocals at her Nashville studio, and Ballou then mixed the tracks. With “MASS” (2023), a concept album about memory, language, and the state of Massachusetts, the duo took the important next step of reaching a global audience.

“BEAR” was again co-produced by band members Buick Audra and Jerry Roe. The duo returned to Salem to work along once more with their longtime collaborator, Kurt Ballou, who also tracked the instrumental performances and mixed the record. As a result, the songs with a huge range of musical ideas and expressions are unified in sound as well as in theme, which runs throughout the record in various ways: the ever-elusive idea of belonging, where it occurs, and where it absolutely does not.

With “BEAR”, FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS present a rare sparkling gem of an album, heavy yet captivating, shiny yet dark, and songs that brim with important meaning. “BEAR” is easy to get into, but beware, this album will draw its listeners into fascinating and thought-provoking depths!

Narcotic Wasteland is a relentless force in the metal scene, delivering a crushing blend of technical precision, unyielding aggression, and raw energy. Fronted by Dallas Toler-Wade—renowned vocalist and guitarist best known for his work with Nile—he brings his signature technical prowess and intense energy to the band. On this tour, in celebration of the 20-year release of “Annihilation of the Wicked”, Dallas will perform two of the songs he wrote for the album: ‘Lashed to the Slave Stick’ and The ‘Burning Pits of the Duat’, giving Nile fans the unique opportunity to hear these tracks played live by the original voice and composer.

On drums, Joseph Howard unleashes a torrent of precision and power, driving the band’s pummeling rhythms with thunderous intensity. His dynamic performance creates the perfect foundation for the band’s heavy and often dark sonic atmosphere.

Kenji Tsunami commands the low end with inventive, hard-hitting bass lines that add both depth and texture, solidifying the band’s signature wall of sound. His stage presence and musicianship bring an extra dimension to Narcotic Wasteland’s live assault.

Together, Dallas, Joseph, and Kenji forge an unstoppable musical unit—one that captivates audiences with high-octane performances and uncompromising compositions.
