Horror-Drenched Death Metal Act SEASON OF THE DEAD Signs with Time To Kill Records

Time To Kill Records is proud to announce the signing of SEASON OF THE DEAD, the visceral, horror-obsessed death metal project featuring an all-star cast from across the underground.

The band promise a debut release that will feel like a lost VHS nightmare brought to life. More details on the upcoming record will be revealed soon.

SEASON OF THE DEAD is a visceral, cinematic extreme metal project born from the twisted minds of Titta Tani (former drummer of Necrophagia and Goblin), Giacomo Anselmi (former Goblin guitarist and current member of Goblin Legacy), and Enrico Giannone, founder and owner of Time To Kill Records, acting as producer and visionary behind the entire concept.

The idea is as brutal as it is clear: to resurrect the blood-soaked legacy of horror-infused death metal, channeling the rotten spirit of bands like Necrophagia, Mortician, and Fulci, while paying tribute to the grotesque imagery and raw energy of cult underground horror films. Influences range from Killjoy to City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, and Cannibal Holocaust, creating a soundscape that feels like a soundtrack to a lost VHS splatter nightmare.

The project boasts an all-star lineup from the international extreme music scene:

  • John McEntee (Incantation) – Vocals
  • Fiore Stravino (Fulci) – Vocals
  • Dave Neabore (Dog Eat Dog) – Bass
  • Chuck Sherwood (Incantation) – Bass
  • Giacomo Anselmi (Goblin Legacy) – Guitars
  • Titta Tani (ex Goblin, ex Necrophagia) – Drums

SEASON OF THE DEAD is more than just music – it’s a blood-drenched ritual, a sonic horror film where every track unfolds like a scene filled with gore, possession, necromancy, and decay. It’s a love letter to the most disturbing, iconic side of horror and death metal – one meant to be played loud… with the lights off.

IN MOURNING Release New Studio Album “The Immortal” with Stunning Music Video for ‘North Star’

Swedish melodic death metal masters In Mourning are celebrating the release of their new, critically-acclaimed studio offering, entitled The Immortal, that is out now via Supreme Chaos Records and Dalapop.

Order The Immortal from the official band webshop at: https://inmourning.redflame.shop/, from the Supreme Chaos Records shop on: https://supremechaos.com/scr-artists/in-mourning/ and for Scandinavian orders, visit https://bengans.net/preord/inmourning/

In support of today’s record release, In Mourning have shared a new music video for their monumental track “North Star”. More than a conventional release, the production fuses breathtaking animation with the raw intensity of the band’s performance, creating a powerful visual statement that amplifies the song’s impact. “North Star” channels In Mourning’s signature blend of crushing heaviness, progressive complexity, and emotional depth into a composition that feels both relentless and transcendent. The interplay between the band performance and visual storytelling makes the video an immersive journey — one that underscores the song’s epic scale while allowing viewers to connect directly with the musicians behind the music.

Since the early 2000s, In Mourning have steadily built a devoted international fanbase. With six acclaimed studio albums and several EPs under their belt, the Dalecarlian quartet returns with its seventh full-length release – arriving two years after their previous album, The Bleeding Veil.

Staying true to their signature blend of melancholic melodies and crushing heaviness, The Immortal sees the band further refine and expand their sonic identity. Fronted by the dynamic vocal duo of Björn Pettersson and Tobias Netzell – whose deep growls and soaring clean vocals offer striking contrast – the album explores themes of personal struggle and philosophical reflection. Guitarist Tim Nedergård provides intricate lead work, while drummer Cornelius Althammer (Ahab) lays down powerful, precise rhythms. As he recently admitted:

“After 15 years of being a fan of In Mourning and a friend of the people behind I can truely state that this is a new chapter of the band. I feel that the music on “The Immortal” is a more focused and concentrated version of In Mourning. A renewal without losing any features that have been making IM´s compositions so great for so many years.

You listen, and when it´s over you wanna restart.”

With The Immortal, In Mourning once again prove themselves a creative force unafraid to push the limits of sound, delivering a release that resonates on every level: Musically, and emotionally. With emotive melodies, melodic riffing, and an unmistakable intensity, In Mourning deliver a compelling experience both on record and on stage!

Venom Legends MANTAS And ABADDON Seek Justice in Ongoing Legal Battle, Call for Fan Support

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 31, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Anthony "Abaddon" Bray, Jeff "Mantas" Dunn. Leave a comment

Jeff “Mantas” Dunn and Anthony “Abaddon” Bray, iconic co-founders of the pioneering black metal band Venom, are reaching out to their loyal fans—the “Legions”—for support in a legal battle against former bandmate Conrad “Cronos” Lant. Since 2023, Mantas and Abaddon have fought to resolve two critical issues: securing recognition for their contributions to Venom’s legendary artwork and claiming their rightful share of merchandise profits from albums they co-wrote and performed, including Welcome to Hell (1981), Black Metal (1982), At War with Satan (1984), and Possessed (1985).

Now in their 60s, Mantas and Abaddon seek a fair resolution to ensure their families benefit from Venom’s enduring legacy, which helped define the black metal genre. “We’re simply asking for what is rightfully ours,” they said in a joint statement. “After decades of avoidable conflict, we want peace and closure.” Despite efforts to resolve the dispute amicably, the duo has been forced to pursue legal action, incurring significant personal and financial costs.

The legal battle intensified in June 2024, with Cronos suing Abaddon and Plastic Head Music Distribution Ltd., claiming ownership of Venom’s iconic Satanic imagery.

Mantas and Abaddon express deep gratitude to www.plastichead.com for their support (including facilitating this crowd funder) and to the Legions for their unwavering devotion. “It was the honour of a lifetime to create music that inspired a genre,” they shared. “Your support has carried us through the best and hardest times.”

After Abaddon’s recent triumph over cancer the pair pledge any surplus funds from their campaign to the MacMillan Cancer Charity.

The duo is calling on fans worldwide to help fund their legal fight. “If every fan bought us a pint, we could see this through,” they said.

Upon resolution, Mantas and Abaddon vow to raise a glass to their supporters.

About Mantas and Abaddon:

As two-thirds of Venom’s classic lineup, Jeff “Mantas” Dunn and Anthony “Abaddon” Bray co-created seminal albums that shaped black metal, they continue to honour their legacy while fighting for their rightful share of Venom’s heritage.

CONNOR SELBY Opens His Heart on ‘I Won’t Be Hard To Find’ Single + Video, New Album Out Now

Last Friday saw the release of Connor Selby‘s most personal collection of songs to date. ‘The Truth Comes Out Eventually’ encapsulates his soul-bearing emotion with all facets of his musicality—Is he a ballroom big band leader? Is he a smouldering guitar hero? Or is he a delicate, folky troubadour? In truth, he is all of these things and more.

“Selby is an Eric Clapton for the 2020s”,  proclaimed MOJO magazine of his latest release, out now on Provogue.

Authentic, roots-based voices have penetrated the mainstream in recent years, from the soulful yearns of early Leon Bridges, the groove of Gary Clark Jr., the booming voice of Jacob Banks, the raw and haunting delivery of Ray LaMontagne or the earthy tones of Rag ‘n Bone Man – those voices cut through, and they stand out, they make you take notice because they don’t sound like everyone else.

Selby’s voice echoes these trailblazers, enveloping his music with an emotional integrity. He delves deep into his soul, all the way down into his core and the feeling of belonging.  “The songs are about my feelings of being in the world and not really feeling like I belong,” he explains.

The delicate and yearning “I Won’t Be Hard to Find” leads the charge on the album’s release day. “This is one of those songs that sort of came out of nowhere,” Selby explains. “I was just sitting at the end of my bed late into the night, and it manifested itself. Lyrically, it’s inspired by heartbreak country ballads, and it’s a song about not being able to let go of a lost love. However, if they change their mind, you will still be there waiting for them, and all they need to do is reach out to you again. It’s one of those universal feelings that I think we all experience at some point, and this is my take on it. I think this is one of my favourite songs on the album.” Listen to “I Won’t Be Hard To Find” HERE

The album has sprinkled acorns of hope and heartache from the singles, including “Amelia“, a Nick Drake-inspired tale of helplessness that has been under lock and key since his teenage years. “The Truth Comes Out Eventually” battles with expectations, and the heart-fluttering groove of the album opener and his first single, “Someone,” sees Selby in full bandleader mode.

“I’m beyond thrilled that my new album is now out”, Selby enthuses. “This album has been in the works for a long time, and the fact that it’s finally out fills me with pride. This album is truly my most personal and emotionally driven to date, and each song represents a different part of me, a different facet of my personality and musicality. I sincerely hope that everyone who listens to this album can connect with the songs and find meaning in them for themselves. It’s my view that every artist is just chasing the way the music and art that they love makes them feel, and if one person can find some meaning in these songs in the way that I have with the music that inspired me, then I’ve done my job.”

He will be back on the road touring for the rest of the year and will let the songs run free to audiences across Europe. “I’m so excited to play these songs at my live shows so I can see first-hand the way my music affects people. Particularly the acoustic songs, as this is something that hasn’t been a part of my live act for quite some time,” he says.

The young multi-award-winning musician has already orbited the circles of some of the world’s most inspiring artists – from collaborating with Mark Knopfler to supporting The Who at Wembley Stadium and sharing the stage at London’s Hyde Park Festival alongside the likes of Pearl Jam and Stereophonics. He has toured with powerhouse singer Beth Hart, including a performance at the iconic London Palladium. His glittering tour CV has included shows with Robert Cray, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Betty LaVette, and P.P. Arnold.
“The Truth Comes Out Eventually” represents a pivotal moment in time for Connor Selby, marking a glorious future ahead for him.

ARSON CHARGE Release Crushing New Single ‘The Aftermath’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 30, 2025

Denver’s breakout thrash-punk band ARSON CHARGE is back with the second single, “The Aftermath,” from their highly anticipated debut record, A Dying Light, that’s out October 3rd via Anxious & Angry. The hard-charging track drips with crushing riffs and furious vocals about broken relationships for what will surely be a crowd favorite on tours to come.

Giving insight into the song, vocalist Ben Roy says:

“‘The Aftermath’ is a break up song, plain and simple. But, more than that, it’s about two very different people, from two very different worlds, who fell in love and tried to find common ground. Unfortunately, that bullshit may work in movies, but it rarely plays out positively in real life. And the aftermath of these types of relationships is often a painful spiral of misunderstandings, unfair judgements, and disconnections. Don’t fall in love. Get a pet.“

Pre-Order A Dying Light: ArsonChargeMerch.com

Stream “The Aftermath“: Bandcamp | Spotify | Apple Music

Melding thrash metal and hardcore punk, the five piece are selling out shows throughout the region as word spreads like wildfire across the country, without even releasing an album yet…until now.

Commenting on the new record, Ben Roy states:

“A Dying Light started off as an impromptu creative outlet for guitarist Justin Hackl after a series of serious health issues and extended hospital stays sidelined him for months. After working with comedian and musician Ben Roy on a couple of those tracks, both decided that there was the framework for an entirely new musical project. Enlisting the talents of drummer Cody Hull, guitarist Dave Sandoval, and bassist Kris Hodgell, Arson Charge was born. Bringing together all their collective influences and styles, A Dying Light is a technical, aggressive, and surprisingly cohesive meld of punk rock, thrash metal, and hardcore. Lyrically it’s a catharsis; it’s a raw and real expression of the loss, self sabotage, fear and, ultimately, hope that we all experience, day in/day out, in our increasingly complicated existences. Again: Don’t fall in love. Get a pet or a fern or something.“

A Dying Light Tracklist:

1. The Feeding Grounds
2. For The Damned
3. Cleanup On Aisle 10
4. One by One
5. A New Throne
6. There Was No Dog
7. 666 BC
8. The Aftermath
9. The Lark The Wolf and The Rabbit
10. Build a Fire
11. Bloodstains
12. A Dying Light

About ARSON CHARGE:
Rising up from Denver, Colorado’s prolific metal scene, Arson Charge is a five-piece behemoth made up of former members from mile-high area stalwarts Native Daughters, Chieftain, and Love Me Destroyer, and fronted by stand-up comedian, actor, and SPELLS lead singer, Ben Roy. Started with no intention beyond being the sum of its parts, Arson Charge is poised to turn heads with their unique blend of hardcore, thrash metal, and punk rock. Their debut album A Dying Light, set for release in the fall of 2025 on Anxious & Angry, is a bludgeoning and brutal dive into the feelings of pain, disconnection, and loss that arise from abuse and self-sabotage. Keep an eye out for Arson Charge in your neck of the woods very soon.
