Vocalist Alexander Strandell commented on the new record, by saying: “It feels incredible to share this third chapter with all of you. Working alongside the amazing team at Frontiers and my brothers Jona, Kicken, John, and Love has been an absolute honour. If you’re a fan of Art Nation, The Poodles, H.E.A.T., Dynazty, or Europe – this one’s for you”.

Pre-Order “Wonderland” HERE

Swedish-based supergroup Crowne is back with their highly anticipated third studio album, “Wonderland”. Continuing their musical evolution, the band builds on their signature blend of melodic rock infused with powerful, metal-tinged soundscapes.

“Wonderland” delivers an unforgettable listening experience filled with epic atmospheres, anthemic choruses, and technical brilliance that showcase the band’s top-tier musicianship.

At the helm is Alexander Strandell, renowned for his soaring vocals with Art Nation, Lionville, and Nitrate. His impassioned delivery adds intensity and depth throughout the album. Guitarist Love Magnusson (Dynazty) provides electrifying riffs and solos, while Jona Tee (H.E.A.T) crafts lush keyboard textures that elevate the album’s cinematic feel. Legendary bassist John Leven (Europe) offers a thunderous low end, and drummer Christian Lundqvist (ex-The Poodles) drives each track with precision and force.

One of the standout moments is “Warlords Of The North”, a powerful anthem featuring a songwriting contribution from Biff Byford, the iconic frontman of Saxon. This collaboration adds majesty and weight to an already monumental track.

With “Wonderland”, Crowne continue to push the boundaries of melodic heavy rock, delivering a collection of songs that are as emotionally compelling as they are technically impressive. It’s an essential release for fans of melodic metal and arena-ready anthems.

EVIL SCARECROW Release New Single ‘The Future Machine’

Evil Scarecrow return with their new single “The Future Machine”, released on Monday 11th August 2025. This is the latest single from the forthcoming album “Silicon Tea” due for release in October 2025, the band will be launching a Kickstarter campaign for the physical release shortly.

Stream here: The Future Machine – song and lyrics by Evil Scarecrow | Spotify https://tr.ee/LQVkUvl3rQ

“The Future Machine” is a love letter to the 80s, taking us back to simpler times, dripping with dystopian nostalgia and sprinkled with Evil Scarecrow’s staple humour and style. When asked to explain this track Dr. Hell said:
“In today’s crazy world, it’s important to consider an age-old debate: With the impending threat of WW3, Trump being a big old shite and I dunno, global warming, it’s time we tackle the toughest question of them all, which was the best decade?
Well, clearly it was the 80s. We also had the impending threat of WW3, Trump was undoubtedly doing shite things and global warming was here to stay. We had hair spray that literally destroyed the ozone layer. Cool times. So cool we thought we should jump on the “Stranger Things” band wagon and krank out some 80s Nostalgia. For a change, we threw some robots in.
So, if you love 80s rock and metal, lame movie references, and robots (again) then this song will make you horny like an 80s teenager watching Weird Science. But hopefully less inappropriate. What were they even thinking? Man, the 80s was so wrong. Glad we didn’t write a song about it…
”

We all take a moment to reflect, and Kraven Morrdeth adds “I f**kin’ love movies”.

AUßERWELT Announce New Album “Breath” + Drop First Single ‘Old Dreams Of The West’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 12, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: AUßERWELT. Leave a comment

In a time when post-metal often finds itself recycling familiar tropes, AUßERWELT’s upcoming debut full-length album “Breath”, set for release on October 2 via Moment of Collapse Records, is a rare gust of originality – both expansive and intimate, cerebral yet visceral. The Münster, Germany-based quartet has distilled over a decade of sonic exploration and transformation into a 63-minute odyssey that is equal parts brutal and beautiful, abstract and deeply human.

Coinciding with the album announcement, the band has unleashed the first single, “Old Dreams Of The West”. Listen to it HERE.

The band states: “We chose this song as a first single, because it unites most sides of Außerwelts sound in 2025. Contrasting a rhythmically intricate beginning, an epic blastbeat-passage enriched by a guitar solo and brief moments to rest, ‘Old dreams of the west’ gradually moves towards the epic finale. With its visual language, the title is intended to open up personal horizons, encourage people to break free from deadlocked situations in life and rethink their own attitudes.“

Tracklist:

  1. Old Dreams Of The West
  2. Breath
  3. The Long Goodbye
  4. Finite/Solitaire
  5. Whiteout Solace
  6. While The Ruins Still Linger
  7. Embers Touching Blackest Soil
  8. Eyes To The Sea
  9. In The Night’s Coating, We Contemplate Hope

Spread across nine tracks – including two ambient interludes – “Breath” is a masterclass in emotional dynamics and genre fusion. While its roots lie firmly in atmospheric extreme metal, the band pushes well beyond the expected boundaries. Blackened urgency, death metal weight, progressive intricacy, and post-hardcore immediacy all coalesce seamlessly. And yet, “Breath” doesn’t feel like an attempt to tick genre boxes — instead, it flows with organic inevitability, like an exhale after a long-held breath.

The production – fully DIY, recorded in the band’s own studio between 2022 and 2024 – is a triumph in itself. There’s raw authenticity here, but also a clarity and punch brought into sharp focus by the expert mixing and mastering of Dennis Koehne. It’s an album that breathes in both scope and detail — from the shimmering fragility of its piano and clean guitar passages to the searing walls of distortion that crash like emotional tides.

Thematically, “Breath” centers on the act of breathing – not in a rigid conceptual way, but as a motif that ties the album together. It explores breath as both physiological function and existential metaphor – a means of survival, regulation, and resilience. It’s a subtle but potent thread that weaves through the record’s emotional highs and lows, giving the listener room to reflect, resist, and recharge.

Standout tracks are hard to isolate in such a cohesive work, but it’s worth noting how fluidly AUßERWELT shift between tightly structured catharsis and sprawling, meditative landscapes. The ambient interludes are not just breathers between assaults – they’re essential moments of reflection, proving the band’s command of mood and pacing.

But beyond its musicality, “Breath” resonates with a deeper ethos. The band’s vision is explicitly inclusive and hopeful, even amid the album’s darker shades. It’s music as a bridge – between unease and healing, between dreams and confrontation, between individuality and shared struggle. That political and humanistic undercurrent makes Breath not just a powerful artistic statement, but a socially conscious one as well.

In a genre often preoccupied with bleakness for its own sake, AUßERWELT offers a vital alternative – one that acknowledges the darkness, but refuses to be consumed by it. “Breath” is not just an album to be heard, but to be felt – deep in the lungs, the heart, and the space in between.

“Breath” will be released on 2x LP, CD and on all digital streaming platforms on October 2nd, 2025, via Moment of Collapse Records and is now available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

Japanese rising force coldrain debuts their explosive new single “Chasing Shadows”, ahead of the band’s tour & festival run in Germany this August. Packed with the unmistakable vocal power of frontman Masato, “Chasing Shadows” delivers a fierce blend of melody and aggression, capturing the band’s signature sound with raw emotion expressed in both English and Japanese. With its compelling mix that resonates across both metal and rock audiences, “Chasing Shadows” further establishes coldrain as one of the most dynamic forces in international rock. The single follows on their March release “INCOMPLETE”.

Stream “Chasing Shadows” HERE

Vocalist Masato shares about the new song: ”This song was inspired by tales of people who questioned the values and rules they were given, and try to find the truth for themselves.

I wanted to share how important it is to explore + understand each other, instead of easily moving toward conflict or anger.

Even if the world feels closed off, the fire inside us can’t be put out. It’s a message to keep taking small steps forward, even when we feel lost.”

The Japanese quintet recently announced their Japan Tour for September and October under the title “OPTIMIZE” while also teasing the arrival of their new EP under the same name for this fall. With two singles already released and their European headline tour for this fall branded under the same name, fans and new listeners alike can expect more details to follow in the upcoming weeks.

coldrain LIVE

The release of “Chasing Shadows” comes just as coldrain kicks off their festival & headliner run in Germany, with appearances at major events including Rocco del Schlacko, Summer Breeze, and Reload Festival. The band will also return to Europe this fall for a 17-date headline tour across the UK and Europe, including stops in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin, and Warsaw. With the tour being added to the band’s OPTIMIZE run, fans can expect to hear songs from their new EP, expected for this fall, live for the first time.

about coldrain

Formed in 2007 in Nagoya, Japan, and with a total of seven studio albums under their belt, coldrain is certainly not a new name in the scene. While releasing music in English, the quintet is known for blending melodic singing with heavy instrumentals and screaming, finding the perfect balance between genres. Through touring with international names such as Bullet for My Valentine and Papa Roach, coldrain has built an international audience over the years.

For only the second time in the festival’s history, Blind Guardian will be on stage at Summer Breeze in Dinkelsbühl this year. The power metal legends from Krefeld made their debut in 2022 – and delivered an epic evening back then.

This Friday, the time has come again: from 9:15 p.m. to 10:45 p.m., the bards of Blind Guardian will take over the Main Stage. In addition to timeless classics such as “Nightfall”, “Mirror Mirror”, or “Valhalla”, you can also expect the legendary “The Bard’s Song – In the Forest” – a moment where the audience now sings louder than Hansi Kürsch himself. You should definitely not miss this performance.

If you already want to know more tracks you might expect, you can take a look at the setlist from the last Blind Guardian concert on July 11, 2024, in Córdoba, Spain, here:

Blind Guardian – Setlist, Teatro de la Axerquía, Córdoba

  1. The Ninth Wave
  2. Blood of the Elves
  3. Nightfall
  4. Tanelorn (Into the Void)
  5. Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill)
  6. Violent Shadows
  7. A Past and Future Secret
  8. Deliver Us From Evil
  9. Majesty
  10. The Bard’s Song – In the Forest
  11. And the Story Ends
  12. Valhalla
  13. Mirror Mirror

Encore:

  1. Sacred Worlds
  2. Lord of the Rings
  3. Lost in the Twilight Hall
