LOVE NOR MONEY Release New Single ‘A Life Gone Bad’

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LOVE NOR MONEY. Leave a comment

Following up on their explosive debut with Golden Robot Records, Love Nor Money return with their second single, ‘A Life Gone Bad’, released on August 8th on all major platforms.

Blending blistering high-tempo blues-rock with ambitious, layered song writing, ‘A Life Gone Bad‘ is a bold statement from a band refusing to play it safe. Structured in a three-part format, the track unravels the mental decay, desensitisation, and downward spiral of a life stricken by bad luck and darker choices. It’s a sonic journey that mirrors its lyrical one – raw, restless, and relentlessly honest.

From dirty riffs and shifting time signatures to vocals that crackle with conviction, ‘A Life Gone Bad‘ showcases Love Nor Money’s ability to craft a story as much as a song, pushing the boundaries of modern rock while staying rooted in gritty blues tradition.

This isn’t just a single – it’s a statement. Love Nor Money are here to tell the truth, and they’re not afraid to get loud doing it.

Listen to the single: HERE

From the birth place of heavy rock comes Birmingham’s next finest export, Love Nor Money. Two brothers, Bob and Eddie Firth are joined by Troy Weaver on drums to breathe fresh air into an age of music struggling to find an era-defining band. Love nor Money’s mission is simple and clear, to be the band that music lovers have been waiting for.

Formed in 2023, Love nor Money instantly set themselves apart with a fusion of West Midlands-heavy riffs and Mersey-melodic clarity to summon a new dawn of rock that pays ultimate respect to its ancestors. An incendiary back drop of guitars sounding so powerful they could bring down skyscrapers fuel the emotive, relatable lyrics of Bobby Firth’s harrowing vocals.

A clear passion for early blues and 70s rock is unmistakable in Love nor Money’s unique identity pertaining to an authentic retro influence that’s never sounded so current. The debut EP, Shame of Short Lifespan, will take you on a journey of influences from the notorious riffs of Zeppelin, to the groove of the Stones while evidencing a deep lyrical appreciation for the likes of Ray Davies, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits – the band’s dearest lyrical inspirations.

“In writing the songs it was important to us from the outset as a band not to subscribe to one emotion. We didn’t want to be known as the band that only wrote sad songs any more so than the band that only wrote happy ones. Life’s not that simple. It’s messy, it changes. One day’s different from the next. That’s what we want to capture in our music, the whole thing, not just a part of it and hopefully the EP conveys that. There are songs of ours that will make you think, songs that will make you laugh and songs that will make you want to dance but what is imperative is that they are all relatable.” – Bobby Firth

’Star quality and sardonic lyrics reminiscent of all the best storytellers of the genre’ – Maximum Volume Music.

With visions aligned, Love nor Money signed to Golden Robot Records in April 2025. Two further EPs and an eagerly-awaited debut album are planned for the forthcoming 18 months with regular live shows at the heart of the band’s priorities.

CANVAS OF SILENCE Release New Video ‘One With The Wind’ from Upcoming Debut Album

Finnish female-fronted progressive metal band Canvas of Silence continues the rollout of their debut album “As The World Tree Fell” with the release of their second single “One With The Wind”, available now on all digital platforms via Rockshots Records.

Following the emotionally intense and prog-driven debut single “Drown“, the new track explores a more melodic and soaring side of the band’s musical palette. “One With The Wind” blends hauntingly beautiful vocal lines with straightforward sections and intricate, prog-tinged instrumentation — a signature approach the band has defined as “Prog-influenced Chorus Metal”.

Lyrically, the song takes the form of a farewell letter inspired by Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises. It captures the final words of someone preparing to part ways with the world, offering one last message of hope, love, and liberation. As always with Canvas of Silence, deep philosophical themes are woven into the sonic texture of the song — an interplay of melancholy and euphoria, darkness and release.

Taken from the concept album “As The World Tree Fell“, “One With The Wind” is a key chapter in a larger journey that reflects on collapse, rebirth, and the fragile beauty of being. The album title itself refers to a metaphorical World Tree falling, symbolizing both personal and global disintegration and the silent promise of renewal.

TALAQAT Celebrate Release of Self-Titled Debut Album with ‘Iter circa solem’ Video

To celebrate the release of their self-titled debut album, out today, Italian instrumental trio TALAQAT have unveiled a new video for the single “Iter circa solem”.

The track encapsulates the band’s exploratory spirit, weaving hypnotic grooves, shifting dynamics, and atmospheric tension into a wordless narrative. Much like the rest of the album, “Iter circa solem” invites listeners into an introspective and shape-shifting journey, one rooted in post-metal textures, progressive frameworks, and improvisational energy.

“Talaqat” was born out of a need for total creative freedom—free from genre boundaries, labels, and classifications. The project is a pure expression of each member’s creativity, personal influences, and musical experience. All songwriting is collaborative, and ideas take shape organically during rehearsal sessions, never premeditated or forced. Each track is envisioned as a journey, telling a story without the use of lyrics, inviting the listener to interpret it in their own unique and personal way.

This approach gives the band’s sound a fluid and undefinable character. On first listen, it may defy easy categorization, but repeated plays reveal ever-shifting nuances that draw from post-rock, post-metal, progressive, and new jazz—a fusion of the members’ diverse backgrounds, shaped into a free, personal, and uncompromising musical identity.

“Talaqat” was recorded in the winter of 2024 at KONO Studio (Biella, Italy) and mastered by Harris Newman at Greymarket Mastering in Montreal, Canada.

Tracklist:

01. Pantalassa
02. Iter Circa Solem
03. XIII
04. Carminio
05. Idra
06. Penitenziagite
07. Talaqat

TALAQAT was formed in 2023 by three musicians with diverse backgrounds and a shared desire to push boundaries.
Matteo Borzini (drums) and Adriano Fontaneto (guitar) have collaborated for years in several prominent underground acts such as Corey, One Fine Day, Steam, Fog In The Shell, Mathians, Postvorta, Killer Is Me, and The End Of Six Thousand Years. In recent years, Adriano has also explored electronic music, while Matteo continues to play with The End Of Six Thousand Years.
Massimo Splendore (bass), who has occasionally worked with the pair in the past, brings a different trajectory—one that began in metal, passed through rock, and eventually touched Italian pop music.
The project sets no limits in terms of genre. Instead, it draws inspiration from extreme metal, jazz, progressive, and hardcore, combining these influences into a sound that’s both distinctive and deeply personal.

Line-up:

Matteo Borzini – Drums
Adriano Fontaneto – Guitar
Massimo Splendore – Bass

ROSETTA STONE Release All-Time Classic New Album “Dose Makes The Poison”

Truly classic Goth albums… the ones you know you’ll be playing for years to come… don’t come along too often these days. So, when they do, it’s worth jumping in on the very first day – and that’s exactly what is happening now, as legendary UK goth veterans Rosetta Stone uncage Dose Makes The Poison, founding member and sonic architect Porl King’s deep dive into a world of quiet (and not so quiet!) Disarray.

A subtle yet urgent commentary on the creeping erosion of empathy, tolerance, and truth in the modern age, it’s an elegant embrace of the cold vivacity and propulsive rhythm that longtime fans cherish, but with a seasoned maturity that speaks to the band’s evolution.

It’s been a busy year for Rosetta Stone – 2025 is barely halfway through and Dose Makes The Poison is already the band’s second album of the year, following the so aptly-titled all-covers collection Nothing Is Sacred; and that appeared just months after the almighty Under The Weather.  In addition, Rosetta Stone also appear on the upcoming Black Album compilation, with a spine chilling take on Cliff Richard (!)’s 1976 hit “Devil Woman.”

“Subject matter has never really been a problem for me,” King explains.

“There’s always something to ‘observe’ and, for good or bad, I am and always have been highly opinionated.

“Social media, friendships, far right conspiracists, anti-vaxxers, indifference, ignorance and apathy are all in there somewhere. I read a lot of social media although I don’t engage – I’ve nothing to gain from it in that sense.”

Nothing, that is, aside from a sense of blazing injustice.  As he told Sonic Seducer,

“The album as a whole relates to a lack of nuance in social interactions – contradiction and inconsistency. Misinformation – the choices people make relating to what they want to believe – as opposed to simply seeking the truth.”

That misinformation, those choices, were more than a guiding spirit, however.  Dose Makes The Poison, he says, originally came to life from what he read on “a huge board on which I wrote phrases and words that I would see in my  social media feed. It really helped when I came to write the lyrics.”

For example, “I still have a real issue with how society dealt with Covid during the emergency phase, and the current ‘approach’ we have collectively in terms of simply ‘living’ with it” – frustrations that fed directly into the album’s opening track and Rosetta Stone’s own next video, “Dive Down Spiral.”

King’s own favorite track on the album,  “Dive Down Spiral” is based around “society’s impatience to return to normal at the outset, whilst thousands were dying and hospitals were overwhelmed.

“People who I had deemed intelligent were crying over wanting to eat in restaurants or go to the gym – the preposterous notion that wearing a mask somehow impeded a person’s freedom. It affects me to this day – it’s truly changed the way I view society.”

What has not changed is King’s musical imprimatur – if anything, he admits, his attitude and approach have circled back to a time when Rosetta Dstone were still effectively unknown, those first days of the 1990s, as their debut album An Eye for the Main Chance, came together.

“I’m not trying to innovate or surprise people,” he says, “because that’s never particularly served me well in the past. There is an attempt to follow ‘expectations’.

“But I am also trying to write ‘real’ songs as opposed to just sounding ‘goth’.”

And that, as is demonstrated by the aforementioned paucity of classic albums within the genre, is what makes Dose Makes The Poison such a magnificent monster.

You really need to try a couple of spoonfuls today.
