ONLY SONS was formed in Krakow in 2018 by Daniel Kesler and Andrzej Nowak (whose lineup lasts until 2022). From the outset, the group operated as a quintet of musicians involved in numerous projects within the broadly defined metal scene: Redemptor, Moanaa, Ketha, Deivos, Outre, Ulcer, Taraban, and Post Profession.
Only Sons was initially a stoner metal project. Their debut album, “Love, Drugs, Treachery, and Deceit” (EP, 2018), maintains this stylistic style. In 2019, the band recorded their debut album, “Lions & Unicorns” which incorporated elements of progressive music, blues, and classic hard rock.
Up to 2021, the Krakow-based group had played numerous concerts alongside bands such as Corrosion of Conformity, Valey of the Sun, Yawning Man, and Bison BC; and at several of Poland’s biggest metal festivals: Mystic Festival, Summer Dying Loud, Red Smoke Festival, Rockowisko Zwierzyniec, and Bałtów Open Air.
In 2024, Only Sons added a new vocalist: Daniel Bala Suder (ex-Taraban).
Currently, the Krakow-based band, led by Daniel Kesler, is preparing to release their second album, “Through the Night Again,” which is scheduled for April 17, 2026, and will be released independently in digital format, on CD (pre-order), and later on vinyl. The album was recorded at Zed Studio (Frontside, Decapitated) and Kossa Buena Studio (Sztywny Pal Azji, Crystal Viper). Tomasz “Zed” Zalewski (Medico Peste, Dieth) handled the mix and mastering, while Bart Gabriel (Avenger, Jag Panzer) handled the vinyl mastering. The album cover was created by Kuba Sokólski (Dormant Ordeal, Entropia), and the layout was created by Kontamination Design (Akhlys, Taake). The band’s logo was created by Xaay, and the band’s photo was taken by Pastor.
The new album by Only Sons features six original compositions in a retro/hard rock style.
The band’s leader comments on the upcoming release: “It’s all here: twisted and technical riffs, melodic choruses, crazy and catchy guitar solos. We’ve expanded the instrumentation with keyboards/pads and samples, adding a variety of spacious sounds to the songs, which, combined with the highly diverse vocal parts, give Only Sons a completely new quality. Fans of bands such as Mastodon, Katatonia, Graveyard, Sentenced, and All Them Witches should feel right at home with us.“

50 years ago this year, the placid seas of British and American rock were disturbed… if not destroyed… by a tsunami of sound arising from the streets of New York City and London.
It wasn’t called punk rock yet… just a bunch of bands, disparate in nature and unique in sound, but seemingly bound together by a single common cause. Something must change. Everything must change. And we’re the people who are going to change it.
What happened next remains among the most dynamic and drama-filled interludes in rock history.
Cleopatra Records was not around for punk rock. But, over the last 30 years, the label has done as much as anyone to preserve and advance the first wave of punk rock giants.
From The Damned to Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, and ex-RunawayCherie Currie to late Sex PistolSid Vicious; from Eater and The Vibrators to The Dickies and The Germs, brilliant new releases and precious archive treasures alike have lit up the shelves, and later this year will see both a major punk rock sale and a very special 50th anniversary edition of the podcast Pirate Radio Cleopatra.
To kick everything off, however, Cleopatra’s long relationship with Cleveland’s legendary Dead Boys hits a savage new peak with the launch of The Dead Boys Bootleg Series, an on-going collection of live recordings capturing Stiv, Cheetah, Johnny, Jeff and Jimmy at their absolute peak.
The first two albums in the series, Down On The Bowery (recorded in 1977) and From The Sleaziest Catacombs (1978) will be with us on May 22, across two all-encompassing CDs and a raucous double vinyl collection.
And while the sound quality might not be pristine, it is perfect for the Dead Boys, a coruscating roar that bleeds all of the live energy, sweat and savagery for which they were renowned.
Even more excitingly, both shows were recorded live at CBGBs, the Dead Boys’ favorite stamping ground, and bristle with the band’s best known numbers – “Catholic Boy,” “Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth,” “Son Of Sam,” “Ain’t It Fun” and, of course, “Sonic Reducer” – the anthem that uncaged the Dead Boys in the first place, and which still stands proud within any self-respecting Punk Top 10.
There’ll be more punk rock later in the year, and more Dead Boys as well – volume three in the series, Time Warp Baby, will materialize in late summer. In the meantime, you can also dig back into past releases – the band-approved Younger, Louder Snottier demos collection, the 1986 reunion Night Of The Living Dead Boys, the legendary Dead Dolls’ benefit gig, the rarities collection Ignorance In Action and more.
And there’s also the brand new Dead Boys album to look forward to.
Via Doloris is rooted in an inward journey rather than orthodoxy. Conceived in solitude and shaped by discipline, composer and multi-instrumentalist Gildas Le Pape (ex-Satyricon) traces a melodic, atmospheric and introspective path through black metal’s foundations. On debut album Guerre et Paix, he’s joined by Frost, the legendary drummer of Satyricon and 1349, who provides a sense of persistence, grounded and unyielding.
Guerre et Paix was released yesterday, March 20 on Season of Mist, and you can hear all seven piercing songs by listening to the full album stream on Black Metal Promotion.
Born in Brittany, France, and based in Oslo, Le Pape first gained attention as guitarist in Satyricon from 2007 to 2013, touring extensively and contributing to the band’s self-titled album. After stepping away to explore a broad range of musical directions, he returned to extreme music with a renewed creative vision and sharpened intent. Via Doloris represents the culmination of that journey: a project shaped by solitude, discipline and an uncompromising sense of craft.
Rooted in Nordic black metal tradition yet guided by melody, restraint and emotional depth, Via Doloris occupies a space distinct from genre convention. Le Pape writes all music and lyrics, performing guitars, bass and vocals. The compositions favor measured, expressive arcs over aggression or spectacle, with melody serving as the driving force rather than ornamentation. Folk and pagan influences surface throughout the arrangements, lending the album a timeless, almost ritualistic atmosphere. Lyrics shift between French, English and Norwegian, each language chosen deliberately for its emotional weight and texture.
Frost’s nuanced playing adds both weight and subtlety to the record. Guest vocals on “Omniprésents” are performed by the late Raido (Ferriterium, Heimsgard, Karne).
VIA DOLORIS is the vision of founder Gildas Le Pape. Through sound, he crafts a world where emotion, discipline, and atmosphere converge — a place to give shape to what cannot be spoken. Rooted in solitude and shaped by the interplay of darkness and beauty, the project confronts the gravity of existence: the quiet burdens we carry, the hidden wounds time buries deep, the road to death. This “Way of Suffering” unfolds as a passage through pain in search of meaning, and the distant, flickering promise of rebirth.
Via Doloris’ musical identity draws from the towering legacy of Nordic metal while forging a distinct path. At its core lies a commitment to detailed guitar work, high-level musicianship, and the art of songcraft. Rather than follow genre trends, Via Doloris returns melody to its rightful place: not as decoration, but as the driving force of the music. These strong, expressive lines guide the compositions with raw clarity, carving out a language that speaks directly to the listener’s inner world.
Though the instrumentation nods to black metal’s formal foundations, the project resists confinement. It blends harmonic depth with subtle dissonance, creating tension and richness without sacrificing cohesion. Folk and pagan influences run like ancestral threads through the arrangements, lending them a sacral, mythic quality. The result is a sound built on contrasts: luminous and shadowed, forceful yet introspective, epic yet intimate. Layered into this sonic landscape are lyrics written in French, English, and Norwegian. Each language brings its own weight, rhythm, and tone, unlocking emotional registers that feel both ancient and immediate.
Based in Oslo, Gildas Le Pape first gained attention in 2007 when he joined the legendary Satyricon as a guitarist. Over the next six years, he toured the world and contributed to the band’s recorded legacy, before stepping away to explore a broad range of musical directions. In time, this path led him back to extreme music, this time with a renewed creative vision and sharpened intent. In 2023, he invited his long-time collaborator, Frost — arguably one of the most accomplished drummers in the genre — to join him in bringing the debut release to life.

Frontiers Music Srl proudly unveil a new rendition of the classic Whitesnake hit “Love Will Set You Free”, featuring Santiago Ramonda, as part of the upcoming “XXX Anniversary Compilation”, a special project celebrating 30 years of passion, creativity, and unforgettable music. The record is set for release on May 22, 2026, and will be only available on CD, on the label’s webstore.
Santiago Ramonda commented: “For me, it’s a true honor to be part of Frontiers Music’s 30th anniversary celebration. Participating in this event with a song by one of my all-time favorite bands fills me with pride and joy. I must admit that recording my own version of “Love Will Set You Free” was both a challenge and a pleasure, as I tried to approach it with deep respect for the original while adding my own voice and emotion.”
“I’m very grateful to Frontiers for including me in this special release. Thank you for actively contributing to the creation of the music we all love so much”, he added. “Congratulations to Serafino and the whole Frontiers team for this great vision and, above all, for the immense passion they have poured into it over these past 30 years.”
Starting from an Idea of Serafino Perugino, the “XXX Anniversary Compilation” brings together some of the greatest melodies and voices from the world of melodic rock. This special release celebrates the label’s rich legacy by revisiting iconic tracks from the Frontiers catalogue, reimagined with dynamic new performances from an extraordinary lineup of guest vocalists.
Each track has been recorded exclusively for this anniversary project and showcases the powerful reinterpretation of beloved Frontiers classics through the voices of today’s standout rock artists.
Aldo Lonobile, Head Of A&R Europe at Frontiers Label Group and producer of the record, commented:
“Producing the 30th anniversary record for Frontiers Records has been both a honour and a responsibility. This label has built a legacy on passion and vision and, with this album, we wanted to celebrate that history in a meaningful way, having a mix of established and new generation of Frontiers artists reinterpret the iconic tracks that shaped our identity is more than a tribute – it’s a bridge between eras”.
“With a tracklist discussed together with the Frontiers President Serafino Perugino, this record is a celebration of where we come from, and a powerful statement of where we’re headed”, he continued.
Under the expert production of Lonobile – who also performs part of the guitars on the album – the performances are backed by a stellar lineup of musicians: Alessandro Mammola (guitar), Andrea Arcangeli (bass), Cristian Timpanaro (bass), the keyboards team – Alessio Lucatti & Antonio Agate, Alfonso Mocerino and Fortunato Grillo on drums, delivering powerful new arrangements that bring renewed energy to these fan-favorite tracks.
The “XXX Anniversary Compilation” isn’t just a compilation – it’s a tribute to 30 years of rock excellence, a heartfelt thank you to the artists, fans, and collaborators who have been part of the Frontiers Records story.

Derby-based classic rock blues outfit BEGGARS BLISS are set to release their debut album this May. To celebrate the launch of their inaugural LP, the band is hitting the road for a series of live dates, featuring a high-profile slot at the Call of the Wild Festival.
“Beggars Bliss” (self-titled album) is exactly what a debut record should be: a clear statement of a band releasing their first LP to the world. Ten tracks drawn from sweat, repetition and instinct to what drives their passion for the arts. Joyous in places, reflective in others, but always grounded in the simple reason the band formed in the first place, because playing this music together feels right.
Watch ‘Peaches ‘N’ Cream’ (official music video):
Formed in 2024 with one simple rule — “if it’s not fun, it’s not worth doing” — Beggars Bliss built their sound the direct way. Tight, expressive and driven by the joy of making noise in the same room, they’ve spent their first two years relentlessly gigging across the Midlands, sharpening their set in packed venues and marking a standout moment at Off The Tracks Festival in 2025.
Beggars Bliss came together with a shared pull towards weighty guitars, deep grooves and vocals that carry both grit and lift. The self-titled debut gathers the strongest ten tracks from more than thirty written in their first two years: a body of work forged through a passion to write songs, constant rehearsals and gigging that has got them where they want to be right now.
At its core, “Beggars Bliss” is classic rock and blues rock played with conviction, shaped not by imitation but by the band’s genuine love of the music that brought them together. The guitars are thick and overdriven, with keys that bring weight and melody, the rhythm section swings rather than stomps, and three-part vocal harmonies add shape and bite. There’s space for funk, flashes of grunge heft, touches of stoner depth and even a hint of country phrasing, but the foundation never shifts: solid, groove-driven danceable rock built on riffs and choruses that land quickly and stay camped in your head, rent free.
Across “Beggars Bliss”, the stories come straight from lived experience. “I Am I” and “Spiralling” confront fractured friendships and the arguments that happen in your own head long after the room’s gone quiet, while “Rabbit Hole” wrestles with self-doubt, the slow realisation that sometimes the only thing in your way is you. “Forbidden Fruit” and “Peaches N’ Cream” lean into temptation and obsession in all their chaotic pull, while “Dusk ’Til Dawn” sits with the quiet aftermath of heartbreak. On the other side, “Sunshine” captures the lift that comes when someone drags you out of a rut, and “Train Song” reframes the road as something to embrace rather than escape. Taken together, the record moves through defiance, longing, loss and hope without ever drifting away from the band’s central instinct: life’s complicated, but it’s better faced head on and played loud.
Recording followed the same logic. After trying several studios, the band settled at RatCat Studios with Natt Webb (The Struts, Alt Blk Era) whose laid-back approach and technical clarity allowed the band’s performances to breathe. The focus wasn’t polish for its own sake. It was about capturing the feel and keeping the takes that carried energy, whilst leaving in the humanity.
On stage this is music designed to make you move, physically and emotionally. That’s why the band momentum continues into 2026, with the band announced as finalists in the Call Of The Wild – Trailblazer Competition at Corporation in Sheffield, which has landed them at the Lincolnshire festival this May and they’re set to open the Oakley Stage at Northants Rocks Festival alongside Breed 77, Hacktivist and Viking Skull this July.
“Beggars Bliss” isn’t trying to reinvent anything with its release. This is a debut album comprised of ten songs that sound like the band actually mean them. And when they mean it, you will feel it when listening to this record. The music reflects emotions we all feel, sad, angry, playful and everything in between. Beggars Bliss have put their authentic selves into this record. It stands as a confident first chapter and a clear marker of where they are now; a band playing because it moves them, and finding that it moves other people too.
“Beggars Bliss” is released 21st May 2026.
