British melodic rock legends FM are pleased to announce the release of “Don’t Call It Love,” the second single taken from their highly anticipated 15th studio album Brotherhood. Released Wednesday 6th August, the new single is a compelling rock anthem tailor-made for rock radio. Watch the official music video on YouTube HERE.
Released by Frontiers Music Srl on Friday 5September, FM’s Brotherhood album is available to pre-save digitally, and pre-order on CD and vinyl from https://ffm.to/fmbrotherhood.
“Don’t Call It Love is an up-tempo old-school AOR track with a very 80s feel,” says FM’s founding member and bassist, Merv Goldsworthy. “It was one of the last songs written and recorded for the Brotherhood album. It’s a definite candidate for the live set and rock radio.”
It’s no surprise that FM’s Brotherhood album continues to showcase their signature blend of hook-laden AOR and blues-tinged hard rock that solidifies their status as masters of the genre.
To promote Brotherhood, FM will tour the UK in September 2025 with 14 confirmed shows, followed by European dates in early 2026. Tickets are available from The Gig Cartel and FM’s official website.
Brotherhood showcases a band at the top of their game, with highlights including the infectious anthem “Living on the Run“, the anthemic rocker “Don’t Call It Love”, the punchy and powerful “Coming For You“, and the emotionally charged “Time Waits For No One” – all tracks that echo the spirit and melodic strength of FM’s early classics, while being unmistakably fresh and vibrant.
The opening track, “Do You Mean It“, brings a bluesy, soulful vibe that echoes the Doobie Brothers’ classic “Takin’ It To The Streets” sound, setting the tone for the album. Brotherhood also features one of FM’s most powerful ballads to date, “Just Walk Away” – a beautifully emotional song that highlights the band’s mastery of melodic rock. Wrapping up the album is “The Enemy Within“, a track that introduces exciting new sonic ideas while retaining the powerful and melodic qualities FM fans love.
Supporting vocals from a female guest choir add warmth and dynamic depth to “Do You Mean It” and “Just Walk Away”, perfectly complementing Steve Overland’s consistently exceptional lead vocals.
Formed in the 80’s by the Overland brothers, FM are one of the UK’s seminal and respected rock bands. The new album was recorded by FM’s long-standing and beloved line-up including founding members Steve Overland, Merv Goldsworthy, and Pete Jupp, alongside keyboard player Jem Davis and guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick.

Finnish melancholic metal band Kivisydän invites their listeners into a world where fragility and strength coexist, and where the weight of sorrow feels both crushing and liberating. Melodic, symphonic metal meets powerful vocals and lyrics that delve deep into sorrow, despair, and pain – but ultimately also into hope.
The new single “Suru” (Sorrow) is the third single from the debut album ”Kuoleva Aurinko” (Dying Sun) to be released later this autumn. The album is mixed by Heikki Marttila / Guru Studio and it’s mastered by Miro Kiiski / Miromastering.
”Suru is taken from the calmer side of the upcoming album and is one of the band’s most personal songs. The lyrics tell of the songwriter’s own experiences of the premature loss of loved ones. A beautiful melody cloaked in sad lyrics.” – Kivisydän

After more than a decade since their last classic entry, Gorguts are finally returning to the studio. As they prepare to record the full-length follow-up to the critically acclaimed Colored Sands, the Canadian pioneers of technical dissonance are sharpening their axes by celebrating two of death metal’s biggest landmarks. This fall, the band are touring North America with Death to All in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of Spiritual Healing and the 30th anniversary of Symbolic.
“It is with great honor that we’ll be sharing the stage with these death metal monuments”, Gorguts’ vocalist and guitarist Luc Lemay says. “Death had such an important influence on me as an artist. It’s the band that made me want to become a death metal musician. Chuck was my idol, my inspiration. See you on stage. Be prepared for an evening of classic death metal!”.
North Dakota death dealers Phobophilic will join Gorguts and Death to All on this month-long celebration.

Death to All is the touring tribute to the late Chuck Schuldiner and his pioneering band Death. The band includes drummer Gene Hoglan and guitarist Bobby Keolble, who both played on Death’s album Symbolic. It also includes bassist Steve DiGiorgio, who played on Human and with Hoglan on Individual Thought Patterns. Max Phelps (Exist, ex-Cynic) rounds out the line-up on vocals and guitar.
“30 years of Symbolic and 35 years of Spiritual Healing“, says Hoglan. “Two vastly different yet important eras of Death. Both albums are going to be a blast to represent”.
Gorgut’s latest LP Colored Sands and most-recent EP Pleiades’ Dust are both now available through Season of Mist.
Few extreme bands can boast the pedigree of GORGUTS. During their early days as part of death metal’s first wave, they created a legacy of legendary releases including their debut album ‘Considered Dead’ (1991) and its more experimental and technical follow-up ‘Erosion of Sanity’ (1993). After a hiatus of five years, Luc Lemay returned with a new line-up, which released the highly acclaimed and seminal third full-length ‘Obscura’ (1998). By then GORGUTS had been busy at expanding and redefining the language of death metal. With a new line-up that left Lemay as the sole original member, the next milestone album was released under the title ‘From Wisdom to Hate’ (2001).
Yet again the band went into hibernation, while their musical legacy continued to inspire and thrive as their native Quebec became a focus for technical death metal with acts such as CRYPTOPSY, NEURAXIS, and BEYOND CREATION to name but a few following in their footsteps. After more than a decade of silence, mastermind Luc Lemay unleashed ‘Colored Sands’ (2013) with an all-star line-up including Colin Marston (BEHOLD THE ARCTOPUS), Kevin Hufnagel (DYSRHYTHMIA), and John Longstreath (ORIGIN, SKINLESS), who has in the meantime been replaced by Patrice Hamelin (QUO VADIS, BENEATH THE MASSACRE).
When it comes to GORGUTS, you have to expect the unexpected. In an age of a postulated clash of cultures, mastermind Luc Lemay delivered Pleiades’ Dust, a piece of music that is conceptually and lyrically based on the “House of Wisdom”, a medieval library based in Baghdad and at the heart of the Golden Age of Islam with its many scientific breakthroughs in various fields of learning. As Luc comments: “It is a story about curiosity, beautiful minds and sadly, about how man destroys great discoveries and achievements.” Musically there is more narrative feeling as each section is introduced in such a way that every riff has the space to evolve like a character in a story.
Lineup: Luc Lemay – Rhythm guitar, vocals Kevin Hufnagel – Lead guitar Colin Marston – Bass Patrice Hamelin – Drums
For the last two years, Charlotte, North Carolina’s lauded metal monsters WRETCHED worked on the songs that would populate their long-awaited fifth full-length, Decay. Set for release on October 17th on Metal Blade Records, the result is a conceptual masterpiece that blends haunting melodies with progressive complexity.
This fifth album, which is a prequel to 2010’s Beyond The Gate, delves into existential themes, D&D-inspired mythology, and personal loss. The record sees the boundary-pushing lineup breaking past defined walls of their four previous releases. Sonically, Decay may be WRETCHED‘s most pristine-sounding recording, but it’s still raw with a live feeling in the performances. The band didn’t track the parts until they sounded like a computer. You hear guitarist Steven Funderburk pick through the strings and fret the instrument, bassist Andrew Grevey shines on bass with a potent musicality and movement, his parts as much a part of the sound and structure of the songs as the guitar. Vocally, Billy Powers went as raw as humanly possible, pushing himself and the instrumentals to their furthest for an uncompromisingly powerful performance on every track.
“We’ve had a lot of time to grow and reflect in the time between our last album and Decay,” says drummer Marshall Wieczorek. “WRETCHED is doing what WRETCHED always does, and that’s exploring our environment and leaving room for ourselves to try different things. To sum things up, the new album is dynamic. We go here, we go there, we go everywhere. There is no shortage of groove, heaviness, speed, melodicism, prettiness, and sadness.”
“Decay is 100% a concept album,” confirms Powers. “Beyond The Gate had an element this record shares, the talisman. I always knew there was more story there and was very excited to join up with the guys again to put that in motion. The first track I wrote was ‘The Golden Tide.’ I had no idea where I was going to take the story connection to Beyond The Gate until I typed the first line of the song. ‘They began in the dark.’ After that, the lyrics poured out of my mind and by the end of it I realized that this story takes place many years before the content of Beyond The Gate.”
The LP’s title track and first single contains the album’s main character, Malus, along with a character from Beyond The Gate named Elturiel. “In the song, ‘decay’ refers to Malus’ decaying existence, the feeling of loss, and helplessness/lack of control he has to influence anything outside of the darkness in which he has been cast.”
In broader terms, decay refers to many elements of the album’s story, “The decay of good intention, the loss of loved ones, the influence time and choices has upon our bodies and minds and the decay of the world around us due to the choices of those with ultimate power.”
Powers further elaborates, “[The song] ‘Decay’ is a chapter in our story in which our main character Malus has lost his physical body due to becoming possessed by an ancient Necromancer. He is just a conscious thought floating through the void between time and space, conjuring a familial djinn named Elturiel to gain his assistance in returning to his mortal shell. This track revolves a lot around out of body experience, lucid dreaming, inner voices/internal dialogue, and the potential for reincarnation. It’s the feeling when you’re so sure that you’ve lost it all, yet you see that little shimmering glimmer of hope at the end of a long, dark tunnel. Then you have the rug pulled out from underneath you to find that the darkness is what you may only ever know. Not to say that all hope is lost because, in the context of the lyrics, it is not. There’s a repeated line near the middle and ending of the song that says ‘once more upon this eternal flat circle.’ It is inspired by True Detective S1 where it’s said ‘time is a flat circle.’ This has all happened before and will all happen again. I’m not a flat earther.”
Decay was self-produced with engineering by drummer Marshall Wieczorek, mixed by Johann Meyer, mastered by Alan Douches, and features artwork and layout by Travis Smith (Overkill, Nevermore, Opeth etc). The record will be released on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in various color variants.

Emerging from the Indonesian brutal death metal underground, Devastrosity is a violent entity formed by members of established bands like Deserter, Gorification and Killharmonic. They have brought all their experience and diverse talents together with the mission of creating one of the most savage and devastating sounds in existence. The Devastrosity name was introduced to the world last year with a limited edition demo entitled Human Depravation, which sent shudders through the extreme metal scene…but that was just the beginning. Now the band are ready to unleash the full force of their debut album, the spine-splitting Eviscerating Desolation!
Having exploded into life with the warped and wicked ‘Human Depravation’ there is simply no let up in the onslaught of brutality from Eviscerating Desolation. ‘Sadistic Purge Of Society Manifest’ hunts down those decreed to die with merciless efficiency, with tidal waves of double bass insanity swallowing everything in its path. The gradual reduction in speed in ‘Devastate Atrocity’ drags you down deeper and deeper into a slurry of human remains before flaying you alive in a rabid detonation of violence. ‘Decay Collapse’ delivers a hail of machine gun fire through naked flesh, tearing bodies apart and reducing all to a ragged, disordered mess – an impossible puzzle of shredded body parts. From the eerie intro that begins this tour of hell to the lingering echoes of final, disembowelling track, ‘Cadaveric Feast’ Devastrosity remain ferocious to the last venomous beat. Built upon killer riffs, and shockingly intense drumming, Eviscerating Desolation is an unstoppable assault of terrifying bloodlust.
Meticulously mixed and mastered at Texas Sicklab Studio, Eviscerating Desolation possesses an unusual clarity and separation of sound. Without losing any of its skull shattering impact, each vicious element of this abhorrent arsenal can be heard, exposing the individual cruelties and imaginative acts of torture to disturbing effect. Out on October 24th on Comatose Music, complete with the insane artwork of Rudi GorgingSuicide (Avulsed, Devangelic, Gutrectomy etc), Eviscerating Desolation will tear its way into the rotten hearts of brutal death metal fans everywhere.
