Swedish melodic rock powerhouse NIGHTHAWK release “Six Three O”, their most accomplished and dynamic album to date, today via Mighty Music on LP (black and green vinyl), CD, and digital formats.

Following a string of acclaimed releases and studio sessions in iconic locations like Abbey Road, the band took their new material to the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales, the same hallowed ground where Queen and Oasis once recorded. The result is “Six Three O”, an album that blends timeless rock energy with pristine production and heartfelt songwriting.

Led by guitarist Robert Majd (Captain Black Beard, Metalite), Nighthawk once again gathers an elite lineup of Swedish rock talent for this record: vocalist Björn Strid (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra), keyboardist John Lönnmyr (The Night Flight Orchestra), bassist Rasmus Ehrnborn (Soilwork, TNFO) and drummer Magnus Ulfstedt (Black Paisley).

Produced by Sverker Widgren (Portal, October Tide), who also helmed their previous album “Prowler (2023)”, “Six Three O” takes the band’s vision even further, from the soaring hooks of “Home Tonight” to the raw energy of “Angel of Mine”, and the spontaneous magic of “Can’t Say Goodbye”, where Björn Strid delivered a standout pre-chorus on the spot.

Whether it’s the straight-ahead rock’n’roll punch of “Too Good To You” or the refined arrangements that run throughout the record, “Six Three O” marks a band firing on all cylinders – confident, cohesive, and passionate.

What began as a passion project has evolved into one of Sweden’s most exciting rock bands today. With “Six Three O”, Nighthawk honour their classic rock roots while forging their own path into the future.

“Six Three O” is out now on LP (black vinyl limited to 100 copies, green vinyl limited to 200), CD and digital, via Mighty Music. It can be ordered and streamed via this link.

EVOCATUS Drop New Single And Video ‘To Live by the Sword’

From the frontlines of melodic death metal, EVOCATUS return with their blistering new single, “To Live by the Sword,” featuring Maude Théberge of Sanguine Glacialis — the latest offering from their forthcoming full-length album Inevitable Death, set for release on August 29, 2025 via Wormholedeath — a thunderous concept record drenched in fate, warfare, and mortality.

Unrelenting from the very first strike, “To Live by the Sword” dives into the psyche of a warrior king — torn between conquest and guilt, forsaking kin in the name of empire, and ultimately seeking absolution on the battlefield. With razor-edged riffing, dual guitar solos, and a narrative arc that blends glory and grief, this track is a towering monument to the eternal cycle of violence and redemption.

The single is an explosive highlight from Evocatus’s most ambitious release to date — Inevitable Death — a concept album where myth meets metal, channeling the spirit of ancient warfare through modern sonic brutality.

SLYDER SMITH to Release New Single ‘Nobody’s Listening’ on August 15th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 2, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SLYDER SMITH. Leave a comment

UK rock artist Slyder Smith breaks the silence with a gripping new single, “Nobody’s Listening,” set for release on 15th August 2025. Gritty, melodic, and fiercely honest, the track channels the frustration of shouting into the void in an age of endless noise.
“It’s about those moments when you’re screaming to be heard but no one’s paying attention,” says Slyder. “We’re all so caught up in our own distractions — phones, filters, fast living — that real connection is getting lost.”

Produced by Robin Wynn Evans — known for his work with Manic Street Preachers, The View, Sam Brown and Dodgy — the single marks a bold step forward for Slyder’s sound. Evans’ sharp production captures the emotional intensity of a track that blends raw rock guitars with a modern, almost cinematic edge.
“Nobody’s Listening” isn’t just a song — it’s a shout from the underground for everyone who’s ever been ghosted, ignored, or left unheard. It’s a rallying cry wrapped in distortion and melody.

Available on Spotify & all streaming platforms plus limited edition SIGNED CD collectable bundle, including 2 exclusive acoustic tracks, Pleasure Victim & cover version of Hanoi Rocks’ Malibu Beach, signed poster & lyric sheet from 15th August.

Preorder the single here: https://lnk.to/Slydersgl

Slyder made his name as guitarist and backing vocalist in cult power-poppers Last Great Dreamers, a colourful four-piece who started life in London in the 1990s. After the release of their 1994 debut album, Retrosexual, the Dreamers went on to be championed by ‘Kerrang!’ magazine, who nominated them as Best New Band in 1995. They split up two years later but reformed in 2015 and racked up a further three studio albums and a live record, plus support tours, with The Quireboys, Enuff Znuff, The Wildhearts, The Alarm, The Boys and Wolfsbane.

In 2021, with Covid in full flow and Last Great Dreamers on hiatus, Slyder started to cook up a batch of new songs, some of them in styles that he’d little explored in public. The following spring, he decamped to Oxfordshire to record them with Pete Brown – a talented producer and studio engineer who, over a 40-year career, has worked with the likes of George Harrison, Siouxsie And The Banshees, Marc Almond and The Smiths.

The album Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids’ ‘Charm Offensive’ came out in August 2022, to some fanfare from the rock press. Vive Le Rock rated the record “excellent”. Powerplay lauded it as “an album which restores the fact we are still home to the world’s best songwriters”, while the reviewer from Fireworks called it “a serious contender for my album of the year”. Straight out of the gate, ‘Charm Offensive‘ lived up to its title.

Slyder promoted the album live with numerous festival appearances in UK & Europe plus UK tours with Electric Boys & Cherie Currie and gained worldwide airplay on BBC Radio 2 Rock Show, Planet Rock Radio, BBC Introducing, Radio Caroline & many more.

Since relocating from Somerset to rural Scotland in 2023, Slyder has set about proving that he has what it takes to cross borders figuratively as well as literally. Writing & demoing material in his home studio, Slyder has so far recorded a batch of songs with producer Robin Wynn Evans at TPot Studio, Perthshire, to be released in the coming months culminating in an album release in 2026. His band feature Brian Kerr on bass & Adam McNaughton on drums. His first single, “Nobody’s Listening,” dives headfirst into the disconnection of the digital age. With razor-edged riffs and raw melancholic vocals, Slyder pulls no punches in exploring the silence we all feel when the world’s too busy to care.

PESTILENGTH Stream Digital EP “Failure Décore/Inane”, Out Now

One and half years after PESTILENGTH dropped their crushing third album “Solar Clorex“, the corrosive Death Metal mavericks return with a sublime pair of digital-only tracks – composed and recorded during the SC sessions.

01. Failure Décor
02. Inane

Both new pieces from the Basque Country duo are succinct exaltations in smeared abstraction and obscure horror – contrasting churning low-end bludgeon with disturbing atmospherics.

Composer M comments:

“These two textured frequencies are the hidden side behind the debris of a total demolished entity, the underlayers of corroded existence: the reach of a dwelling sorrow in every human being. Death is the longest path to wander.“

“Failure Décore/Inane” is available to purchase digitally via DMP’s Bandcamp store. CD and vinyl editions of the band’s acclaimed last album “Solar Clorex” – including merch – are still available to purchase from the label’s EU, US (no merch) and Bandcamp shops.

In early 2018 the anonymous duo PESTILENGTH emerged from the Basque Country with a twisted, contemporary-yet-classic style of extremity which they called ‘corrosive Death Metal’.

After a well-received series of demos and singles, in 2020 the band released first full-length, “Eilatik“, described by No Clean Singing webzine as: “…absolutely vicious at all times. It rips and tears in a frenzy, and pounds without mercy or remorse.“

By the end of 2020, the band had received worldwide attention among labels, blogs, and musicians. Additional EP “Apore Flesh” was enthusiastically praised by LEVIATHAN‘s Jef Whitehead for reaching “… far beyond the world of copycats of the ‘underground'” in “khaotick shards of thought-provoking metalz of dementia”. A split with Mexican band REVERENCE TO PAROXYSM had followed soon afterwards the same year.

In August 2021, PESTILENGTH‘s monstrous sophomore album “Basom Gryphos” was unleashed to widespread critical acclaim. The album contained eight new songs whose cerebral slithering brutality was mirrored in the striking cover art by Namurian Visions.

In 2023 the band inked a deal with Debemur Morti Productions for the release of their third album.
