DRAKEN Release New Single ‘Of Demise and Men’ from Upcoming Album

True Norwegian Stoner Rock trio DRAKEN is ready to release their 3rd album, “Here Be Draken”, on April the 17th.

While we await the upcoming hard hitting masterpiece, we can enjoy the 3rd single today which is the song “Of Demise and Men”, which can be heard here: https://orcd.co/of_demise_and_men

Draken’s guitarist and vocalist Even Hermansen has this to say about “Of Demise and Men”:
Think most people are crazy, and the world has gone to shit? Well, you’re absolutely right! And we’ve written a catchy, little song about it…

Of Demise And Men is our humble, little tribute to our friends in Enslaved (poor man’s Grutle-intro and everything…), to our heroes Abba, and to humanity’s never ending ability to shoot itself in the foot, and ruin everything for everyone.

Are these the end times? God damn right! Is mankind alone to blame? God damn right again! But that doesn’t mean that we can’t sing and dance, and laugh and celebrate, as everything crumbles to dust around us! Because it’s ok. Everything’s fine. All will be well. We’ve had a good run. It was good while it lasted. So don’t you worry, for as we die screaming, all will be well …at last.

Here’s to the end of the world everybody! Cheers!

Formed in 2019 by Even Hermansen (guitar/vocals), Hallvard Gaardløs (bass/vocals) and André Drage (drums), Draken has carved out a fierce sonic identity at the crossroads of heavy rock and metal. Drawing inspiration from bands like High on Fire, Motörhead and Entombed, their sound is defined by down-tuned guitars, massive riffs and raw energy.

Hallvard Gaardløs has this to say about the upcoming album:
For a long time, the main theme of “Here Be Draken” alluded me. But the more I think about it, this album is about new beginnings in so many ways.
Sonically, it’s a new beginning. After two albums with Vegard Liverød (a true gentleman and legend!), the time was right for a change of scenery. We went for Amper Tone, which, quite conveniently, is just a stones throw from where I live. I talked to Kim Lillestøl about engineering, we knew each other from music studies, and we all have heard great things about him the last couple of years. The result… well, hear for yourself!

As mentioned, the upcoming album “Here Be Draken” was recorded at Amper Tone in Oslo and produced by the band together with engineer Kim Lillestøl. With artwork by Per Spjøtvold, the track listing is as follows:

1. The Great Deceiver
2. Jólablót
3. Saturday Night Head Removal Extravaganza
4. Here Be Dragons
5. Crimson Sun
6. It Serves You Right
7. Wrath
8. Shirts of Black (F.O.A.D.)
9. Of Demise and Men
10. Endtyme
11. Shitshow

Their first two albums – Draken (2021) and Book of Black (2023) – were released on Swedish label Majestic Mountain Records and received strong reviews across Norwegian and European press. The upcoming album Here Be Dragons was recorded at Amper Tone in Oslo and produced by the band together with engineer Kim Lillestøl.

Draken has performed across Norway and Sweden and toured central Europe with Spidergawd. With a new label and a new album on the horizon, the band is ready to take things to the next level.

Set for a release on Dark Essence Records on April the 17th, “Here Be Draken” will be available on CD, Limited Edition Cream White Vinyl and digital formats, and can be pre-ordered from:

STEAMGENERATOR from the cold steel forge of Wolfsburg are musically at home in the vast universe of Doom, with the musicians feeling most comfortable in the company of genre greats such as Trouble, Black Sabbath, and Cathedral.

Marcus Milbrandt (guitar) and Christian Steffenhagen (drums) first appeared together in various regional bands in the early 1990s. The German group has now found the perfect partner in metalloscope music to optimize the powerful Steamgenerator for a significantly higher performance level and thus present their music to a wider audience.

To mark their debut, the new label will release “Hopeless Romantic” on March 25, including the remastered songs from “Black As Coal” as a bonus and with revised cover artwork. Promising material for the next album is already in the works.

STEAMGENERATOR say about the background:

“It’s not the age of perfection, but the age of transmission! The song from the upcoming album ‘Hopeless Romantic’ that comes closest to classic Doom.
All of the band’s musical influences come together here. Here they reveal their roots and the reasons why STEAMGENERATOR was originally formed. Trouble, Cathedral, and Black Sabbath are the godfathers.
The song is an apocalyptic view of a technocratic, profit-oriented society with no regard for the individual. Start the Plutonium Mega Generator!”

RUOSKA Release Music Video for Title Track of New Album “Kade”

Ruoska, a long-standing Finnish industrial metal band, released their new album couple of weeks ago. Now they have released a music video to the title track of the album “Kade”. The video is directed by Henrik Mennander, and its story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the last survivors of humanity live under the constant threat of hydrogen bombs.

In the story, a mythical creature known as Kade looks down from a cliff at the devastated planet while bombs continue to strike its surface over and over again. The few remaining survivors hide underground whenever red warning lights appear, returning briefly to the surface when a green signal indicates that the danger has momentarily passed.

A passion for fantasy, science fiction, and post-apocalyptic themes forms the basis for the collaboration between the Ruoska singer Patrik Mennander and the music video director Henrik Mennander. They wanted to create a cinematic, or rather “short film” narrative, but since this is a kind of comeback for the band, it was also good to introduce them within the video.

Ruoska tours this spring and summer around Finland to celebrate the new album.

WISHING WELL’s Fifth Album “Playing With Fire” Out Now

Old school hard rockers from Finland, Wishing Well, have today released their fifth album, titled “Playing With Fire”. It’s been ten years since their debut album “Chasing Rainbows” came out and started their career that today consists of five very well received albums mixing hard rock, metal and more.

“Playing With Fire” includes all key elements of Wishing Well: Variable songs from power metal to classic rock with strong choruses, lyrics that mix dark and light, majestic Hammond organ, plenty of melodic guitar solos and this time more piano and synthesizers too. “Valley Of Darkness” and “Train Of Thoughts” represent the metal side of the band whereas “Let Me See The Light” and “Rise And Shine” show the softer aspects of Wishing Well. There’s something for everyone.

Listen to the album on music streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Bandcamp etc.): https://push.fm/fl/wishingwell-playingwithfire

The whole album was recorded in Magnusborg Studios in Porvoo, Finland during 2025. It was engineered and mixed by Marko Kataja, who also plays piano and keyboards on the album.

All music on the album is written by band’s mastermind Anssi Korkiakoski. He’s pleased with the outcome. “We are once again very happy and relieved that we were able to come up with an album that we all really dig ourselves. We worked very hard and we had to struggle a bit to make it happen but all’s well that ends well. This is an honest album. This is who we are. This is where we are. This is what we do. Dogs bark but the caravan rolls on”, he says.

Together with the album the band releases a video for the closing track of the album, “When The Money Starts Rollin’ In”. It’s a typical melancholy-meets-hope Wishing Well song with strong classic rock vibe, a great way to end a great album. The tongue-in-cheek video was filmed in band’s rehearsal studio by Jussi Koskinen.
